In yoruba land, names reflect the gender of its bearer. There are names meant for male gender and there are names meant for female gender.

Male names: Segun, Kayode, Wole, Ayofe, Wale, Wole, Gboyega, Ayo, Ade, etc.

Female names: Bola, Shade, Deola, Arike, Abike, Funmi, Nike, Asake, Peju, etc.

There are also unisex names: Damilola, Iyanu, Pelumi, Morenikeji, etc.

I am going to forty years old and I have never seen a man bearing Bola. That name is exclusively reserved for females.
