Pastor Sunday Egbo Madu- abuchi. Do you know him? The 30-year-old man is the Founder and General Overseer of Christ Mercy Ministry, Ajuonu, Obukpa, Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State. His Igbo surname, Maduabuchi, translates as “man is not God.”

But to many of his church members, especially women with infertility challenges, he comes across as something of a god. But he recently proved to be a god with feet of clay when he escaped with his victim’s pants and brassieres after having forceful carnal knowledge of one of his female church members called Blessing Ukweze Ifebuche.

It turned out that the girl’s mother had inadvertently played into his hand, by ignoring the timeless warning of Evangelist Temilolu Okeowo, Founder and President of Girls Club of Nigeria. “It is unhealthy for a girl/ lady to go on an exclusive prayer retreat with any man of God! I’d repeat: Don’t follow your ‘father- in-the-Lord’ to an exclusive prayer retreat specially organised for you alone!” she wrote, sometime ago.

“It could be a bait to lodge you in the same hotel room with him and have carnal knowledge of you! Countless women and girls have fallen into this evil trap by satanic men and till today they can’t confide in the people closest to them, least of all, the world, because most people won’t believe them! Worse still, a lot of them (pastors) can’t get the pigs off their heads yet they’ve moved on to laying almost half the women in their church! Please…please… please…don’t be too close to any man-of-God in this wise! No one can be trusted!”

Lies and deceits of a ‘man-of-God’
No one can tell if Blessing’s mother read those words or not but what followed should serve as a stern warning to all mothers on the need to watch the relationship between them or between their daughters and so-called men of God.
Before he had his way with the 18-year-old teenager, Pastor Sunday, as Maduabuchi is popularly known among his church members and followers, had succeeded in convincing Blessing’s mother to send her over for a special deliverance crusade taking place, he claimed, in the church.

But later development moved the venue to his house located at Ajuana Obukpa, Nsukka Local Government, Enugu State. Her daughter was to come, he told the woman, with the photograph of her younger brother who is said to be sick with some unnamed mysterious ailment.
Date was November 9, 2019. And, time? He lied to the unsuspecting girl’s mother that it would start by 6pm and that it was to be held for her and other members of the church who needed ‘deliverance’ on some areas of their lives, but in reality, it started at about 11pm with some struggles and dragging, not with the supposedly demonic forces turning into hell his members’ destinies, but with the innocent girl who was sent to his ‘slaughter house’ by an equally naïve mother. But by the time the ‘deliverance session’ was over, it had attracted a charge of rape, attempted ritual murder and a few of other scary stories inside the evil deed.

And, now with detectives from the Anti-Trafficking Gender Unit of State Criminal Investigation Department, Enugu State Police Command wading fully into the matter after prompt arrest of the alleged culprit pastor, power appears to have changed hands. Now, the hunter has become the hunted.
And, if you listened carefully, you could hear some jubilation among the host of angels of darkness for seizing the initiative this time around, upsetting some balances and causing some spiritual havoc among the company of men before the likes of Pastor Maduabu- chi could do so among the company of demons.
How Pastor Maduachi raped his female church member
Parading Maduabuchi alongside 36 other suspects at the command headquarters, the State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Abdur-rahman, said the pastor had on November 9, 2019, invited a female member of his church under the pretext of organising a crusade starting from 6pm.

“On arrival, the pastor took her to his house and left while pre- tending to go and bring other people, who were supposed to participate in the programme, but he returned around 11pm and dragged her into his room, brought out a magic stone and threatened to kill her if she raised the alarm,” he said.
“He ordered her to remove her clothes, but the victim refused and the pastor slapped her and tore her clothes and raped her. Egbo seized her pants, brassiere and brought out a small bottle and wanted to insert it in her private parts, but she struggled and ran naked to the door and shouted, which attracted neighbours, who invited the police to rescue her and arrest the pastor.”

Blessing narrated to Saturday Sun how it all happened. Her words: “My mother and I and my younger brother have known Pastor Sunday for about two and a half years now.
We know him as the founder of Christ Mercy Ministry, Nsukka. His church has three branches. On November 9, 2019, he called my mother on the phone around 3pm to ask her to allow me attend a prayer crusade taking place in his church that evening from 6pm. My mother then called me to relay his message. Pas- tor Sunday told my mother to give me my younger brother’s photo-graph to come with for the crusade.

But when I went to the church venue around 6 o’clock that evening I did not see anybody. I was surprised because everywhere was locked. I called him on the phone to ask whether the prayer crusade would no longer hold but he said he would send someone to bring me to his house because it would take place in his house and not the church.
Later, he sent one lady to bring me to his house. Shortly, I arrived he got up and said he wants to go and bring some members of the church who are coming but who don’t know the way to his house.
“I waited and in the process dozed off. Around 11.30pm or so, Pastor Sunday walked in and found a little girl in his house and me sleeping in the parlour. He woke me up and asked me to come to his room. I refused.

But he grabbed me and dragged me to his bedroom, tore my clothes, and forcefully removed my pants and brassieres. Then he brought a magic stone, waved it in my face and threatened to kill me if I shouted. He wanted to have his way. I resisted him but he slapped me. We started struggling. We did that for sometime before he eventually subdued me and forcefully had sex with me.
Afterward, he brought a bottle and tried to insert it in my private part to collect the fluid com- ing out of it. But I quickly got up and ran to the bedroom door and started shouting and banging on it with all my power. He tried to stop me, to close my mouth, but he couldn’t.”
Neighbours and police come to the rescue
Saturday Sun learnt that when the screaming became unbearable, at that time of the night, neighbours came to find out what was going on. On hearing enquiring voices, Maduabuchi allegedly opened the bedroom door and pushed Bless- ing out naked into the living room and locked up the door.
The self barricading of himself out of shame continued until operatives of the Anti-Trafficking Gender Unit of State Criminal Investigation Department, Enugu State Police Command, led by Gloria Udoka, a Superintendent of Police, assisted by policemen and women from Nsukka Police Division, arrived not only to arrest him but to also conduct a thorough search of his house.
The police detectives were also said to have rushed the victim, Blessing, to a private hospital for medical treatment and report. Doctors were said to have confirmed lacerations in her private parts consistent with act of rape. She was discharged on November 11, 2019.
More can of worms opened
But the search opened up more cans of worms. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department, Mrs. Janet Agbede, told Saturday Sun that the search in Maduabuchi’s house unearthed many curious finds: different pants, brassieres, mirror, small coffin, flute, calabash, candles, black soap, incense, baby clothes which the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ahmed Abdul-rahman believes are being used by the culprit pastor for ritualistic purposes but Maduabuchi claim that some of the items like baby clothes were brought to him by members, on instructions though, for prayers.
He told journalists that he procured the coffin and other items from a native doctor in Kogi State, with the hope of making money and attracting favour.
“I paid the native doctor N200, 000, to get the coffin and the flute,” he said. “He told me to do certain things, after which I will get a Ghana-Must-Go bag full of money in my room.
But after two weeks, the money did not come as the na- tive doctor told me. In June 2019, I went to Kogi State and brought the coffin and some concoctions. Whenever I am going to church, I would put alligator pepper in my mouth and chew it and spray it on the horn (flute).”
The alligator pepper and flute, he said, were supposed to act as a sort of invocatory charms that bring members, especially rich men rushing to his church. “I chew the alligator in the house before leaving home for the church.”
Signs of ritualism from the pastor
Blessing who hails from Amevo Oroko Nsukka Local Government, Enugu State, says she strongly believes the Abdul-rahman’s version of the story, of Maduabuchi being a ritualistic pastor. She explained that since the ugly incident, “we have found in his possession some pants and brassieres belonging to some ladies in the church who he always deceive with fake night vigil and fake crusade in his house after having sex with them. Like he did to me, he stole their pants and brassieres for ritual money.
He would deceive some members looking for children to buy and bring baby clothes, promising that they would conceive and have a baby. But during deliverance session, he would forcefully have carnal knowledge of the women. He would then steal their pants and brassieres which he used for rituals for money.
I didn’t know that all the prayer crusade and deliverance ses- sions he has doing for our family are fake and he has a mission. Pastor Sunday deceived my mother to send me to church crusade and he raped me and tried cleaned up the fluid from my body to use to make juju. Up till now I have not seen my pants and brassieres. I want them from him. He must give them back to me.”
While Maduabuchi who claims to be an orphan and a school dropout, vehemently protests his innocence regarding the accusation about his sleeping with his female church members and stealing their panties and brassieres for use in preparing money-making charms, he however admits to having carnal knowledge of them with the hope of being used by God to solve their infertility problem.
Their panties and brassieres he keeps are to also help them conceive after he had passed magic stone across them, he claimed.
“I started having sex with some of the ladies in my church when they lodged complaints about their barrenness,” he confessed. “I promised to assist them through prayers and deliverance. It is when I invite them to my house that I do have sex with them. I sometimes do use incantations on them.”
Maduabuchi admits culpability in the rape saga
The man who hails from Nara Unateze community in Nkanu East Local Government, Enugu State said: “I am an orphan because I had lost my father and my mother when I was young. In fact, my mother died
while I was eight-years-old. I started following men of God in Lagos 10 years ago. But I started my own min- istry, Christ Mercy Ministry in 2014. I have over 300 members in my church. I have three branches one of which is at Ihu Owere Nsukka. There is another one at Onitsha.”
Admitting having forceful car- nal knowledge of Blessing, he said he regrets his action and therefore pleaded for mercy. His version of the story: “On November 9, 2019, I deceived the mother of Blessing that I have a church crusade. I asked her to tell Blessing to come to the church crusade. I told her mother to ask her to bring the picture of her younger brother who was sick.
When Blessing got to the church for crusade, she didn’t see anybody. I sent one lady to bring her to my house and then went away. I came back in the night. I dragged her to my room and threatened her with juju. I asked her not to shout and threatened to kill her if she did. I asked her to remove her clothes.
She refused so I used force to remove both her clothes and her underwear and brassieres and raped her. I took a bottle and wanted to collect the sex fluid from her vagina but she started shouting and that’s how our neighbours came to her rescue.”
CP Abdul-rahman added that Maduabuchi’s arrest should serve as a lesson for every parent especially mothers to always be careful with some so-called clerics and to always be vigilant over their children. He promised that he would be charged to court to face the wrath the law as soon as investigation into his case is concluded.
Church members shocked, react
When Saturday Sun visited his church at Igbakwe Nkwo, Nsukka some church members who were waiting for him for prayers were confused as to what to do and what to make of the rumour making the rounds concerning his sexual es- capades with some of the female church members.
Some of them said that although they heard the rumour of his arrest, they started believing it when church service did not hold the following Sunday.
One of them, Mr. Chukwudi Alloy added that it was difficult to believe what happened to Pastor Sunday until police detectives came to his house on November 10, 2019 to search his house and found coffin and different pants and brassieres, candles, horn which he used in in- cantations before the start of worship.
Referring to Blessing’s case, he said: “We learnt that he raped the daughter of one of the female mem- bers of our church. We learnt that he has not released her pants and brassieres. Since I learnt this information I have withdrawn my family from his church. I started attending his church over a year ago. I also learnt that other members have started withdrawing their families from the church.
In fact the entire Nsukka environ has heard what happened. This is the mark of end time. It is written we will have fake pastors calling the name of God. It is a shame to hear that our Pastor Sunday is now one of them.”

A 28-year-old female teacher has been arrested for allegedly raping a boy at a primary school in South Africa, Bloemfontein, police said.

Brig Motantsi Makhele said the teacher was arrested on Tuesday. The alleged rape happened in Brandwag on Friday last week.

Makhele said the student teacher was involved in the aftercare programme at the school.

A rape case had been opened at Parkweg police station and would be investigated by the family violence, child protection and sexual offences unit.

The woman is expected to appear in the Bloemfontein magistrate’s court on Thursday.

A Christian privately-run university in Nigeria has dismissed a female student who was captured in a recently leaked sex tape. The institution said she had violated its rule and regulations.

Multiple portals reported on Wednesday that the decision of the Babcock university to dismiss the third-year accounting student was after the leaked video went viral on some social media platforms.

The video shows the girl and a former colleague involved in the sexual act which the university insists was not carried out on campus. It is not known as yet who leaked the tape and for what reasons.

In an official statement on the issue, the university clarified among others that the boy in question had been expelled from the school in February this year for “grievous misconduct.”

Part of the statement added: “The place where the immoral act took place, according to her (the girl’s) written statement, was at the Saint Bridget Hospital, Abeokuta, Ogun State, where the boy has been undergoing rehabilitation for destructive addictions.

“According to the girl, the incident took place in April this year during school vacation, when she visited the boy at the hospital. The act did not take place in Babcock University,” it further clarified.

But the discourse on social media has largely been about the propriety of the measure the authorities resorted to. A good number of people are making fun of the situation.

For some, that two consenting adults agree to have sex should not result in expulsion from school. Others are concerned that one of the affected students (the female) is a third-year student and as it stands has lost all her academic progress.

Whiles others who side with the authorities insist that existing regulations were being followed and that the students were paying the price for their inactions. For some, there was the need to also fish out whoever leaked the said tape.

A Jordanian man has been accused of murdering his own toddler by strapping him in a stroller and dumping him into the gulf off Pattaya, Thailand.

Wael Zureikat, 52, was arrested at Suvarnabhumi International Airport while attempting to leave the country hours after his 18-month-old son was found dead Monday evening, according to immigration chief Lt. Gen. Surachate Hakparn.

The boy’s body was found still strapped to the the pram, floating in the water near Bali Hai Pier in Pattaya. Police said he had been dead at least two days.

Col. Apichai Krobphet, Pattaya police chief, said Zureikat confessed to killing his son late Friday night by pushing the pram off the pier.

Surachate said Zureikat wanted to take revenge against his 24-year-old wife, who he accused of abandoning him to take care of the child alone. He has been charged with murder.

Lt. Col. Piyapong Ensarn of Pattaya tourist police said the wife, who hasn’t been identified, was also been brought in for questioning.

He added that Zureikat is a frequent visitor to Pattaya.

About 600 women in Shale, Zimbabwe confessed to prophets that a mysterious snake would lick their privates before sleeping with them.

The incident happened in Ward 8 Shale, Dindindi Gante Village under Chief Mathe’s jurisdiction.

The distraught women confessed during a cleansing ceremony conducted by prophets who are known in the area as Izithunywa zenkosi that they were sexually tormented by a mysterious snake.

For Izithunywa zenkosi to cleanse them, the troubled women paid $1 800.

In separate interviews, the women narrated their ordeal saying during the night they would feel dizzy and a few minutes later something would sexually attack them. Some said they would see a snake in a vision and later on they would feel some itching on their private parts.

Nobuhle Moyo said she woke up without undergarments but with semen stains.

“I would wake up feeling tired and with semen stains on my private parts. At first I thought I dreamt about my husband who is based in South Africa.

That troubled me very much because my husband died seven years ago,” she said.
Rita Simali said on several occasions she would wake up without underwear.

“I would wake up without underwear and feeling extremely tired like someone who had slept with me and this has been happening for the past four weeks.

During my sleep I would also feel something sucking my breast. It happens even when I’m sleeping with my husband. We have spent large sums on traditional healers trying to get rid of it but without success,” she said.

A 43-year old woman Wanda Brown took a 7.5-Ft Slim Yuletide Pine Christmas tree with her inside the store’s restrooms with the intent of inserting it entirely in her body cavities and steal it.

Wanda Brown was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where doctors still consider her condition “critical but stable” and no longer fear for her life.

She suffered from severe lacerations necessitating over 375 stitches and lost more than 2 liters of blood. She hasn’t regained consciousness yet, but doctors expect her to do so within a few days.

Ms. Brown has a long criminal record including several larceny charges, as well as other crimes like possession of counterfeit documents and even impersonating a police officer.

She will face two new charges of larceny and indecent exposure, but her lawyer has demanded a psychiatric evaluation to determine if she is fit to stand trial.

The evaluation is set to take place after she regains consciousness and recovers from her injuries, which means her trial shouldn’t take place before February or March of next year.

An employee of the Jefferson county morgue died on Monday morning after being accidentally cremated by one of his coworkers.

According to the Beaumont Police Department, 48-year old Henri Paul Johnson decided to take a nap on a stretcher after working for sixteen hours straight.

While he was sleeping, another employee mistook him for the corpse of a 52-year-old car accident victim and carried him to the crematory.

Before anyone could notice a mistake, he had already been exposed to temperatures ranging between 1400 to 1800 degrees Fahrenheit and reduced to ashes.

Jenna Davis, one of Henri Johnson’s coworkers, says she heard him scream for about 15 seconds after the crematory was activated.

“At first, we didn’t understand where the sound was coming from.

When we realized what was happening, it was too late. We shut down the heating system, but he was already dead.”

Ms. Davis claims that the young coworker who caused the accident was a new employee and had forgotten to check for the toe tag to make sure he had the right body.

The police have opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding Mr. Johnson’s death.

Investigators have not ruled out the possibility of filing criminal charges against the employee who caused his death.

Renowned Broadcast Journalist, Nana Aba Anamoah, has said sex acts in pornographic videos should not be the standard for lovemaking among couples.

According to her, people should not expect their partners to engage in extreme sexual acts that they see in porn videos because they are not real.

Pornhub is a Canadian pornographic video sharing and pornography site on the Internet.

She said intimacy was an important factor in a relationship and urged men to focus on it.

“Some men have an orgasm and go straight to bed. I want you to talk to me. I don’t like me a man who doesn’t make eye contact,” she revealed on Super Morning Show.

Meanwhile, the popular TV personality revealed that she does not appreciate a man cooking for her, describing the kitchen as her “office”.

Local Kenyan police officers at Nanyuki Police Line were left puzzled after a colleague jumped and fell out of a window in his sleep on Monday night.

The officer, who sustained injuries from the fall, was immediately rushed to Hospital where he is undergoing treatment.

Fellow officers were called to the scene at 10pm after a colleague reported that an officer had jumped through a window located on the ground floor while he was asleep.

“The officer while sleeping alone in his room is believed to have dreamed and jumped through the window. As a result he sustained deep cuts on both his arms and legs,” a police statement reads in part.

It remains unclear the kind of dream that so startled the officer in his sleep to the point of jumping through the window.

When a Lagos trader Mr. Emeka Omenka and his wife Ifeoma allowed their 13-year-old daughter Precious to visit her half-sister in Lekki, they never knew it was a decision they would regret the rest of their lives.

Precious, a Junior Secondary School (JSS) 3 pupil died on October 25 at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Ebute Metta from complications of the beating she allegedly received from her older half-sister Nneka and her mother Seki Eko on October 14.

According to the death certificate issued at the hospital, the primary and secondary causes of death were Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) and Cardiopulmonary Collapse.

According to the National Kidney Foundation, AKI is a sudden episode of kidney failure or kidney damage that happens within a few hours or a few days and causes a build-up of waste products in the blood, making it hard for the kidneys to keep the right balance of fluid in the body.

Other causes of AKI, the foundation said, are decreased blood flow to the kidney caused by shock, clotting, bleeding or severe diarrhoea, severe allergic reaction, overuse of pain medicines used to reduce swelling or relieve pain from headaches, colds, flu, and other ailments.
The teenager went to Nneka’s house in Ikota, Lekki on October 12 on the latter’s request.

Omenka said his 13-year-old daughter was returned on October 16 looking weak with complaints of body pains. He said Precious gave details of how she was kicked in the stomach, chest and sides several times, adding that she was beaten with a mop stick and a cable as well. They tried to relieve the pains with analgesics and hot water massage.

“I am in pain,” he said. “My heart is broken. I do not even know where to start. I am finding it so difficult to understand how my older daughter and her mother beat up my girl so badly to the point that she died as a result of wounds she sustained. Nneka is my first daughter. I had her out of wedlock with one Seki Eko I was in a relationship with. She runs a beer parlour at Oluwole Market. But Nneka was trained by my wife Ifeoma who loved her like her own child.

“When I got married to my wife, it was difficult for her to conceive and so she brought up Nneka like her own child. So, when she came and said Precious should come to her place in Ikota, we did not have any reason to deny her request. Her husband lives in Dubai. She promised to send her to a private school to appreciate my wife for taking care of her.

“Precious went to her place on October 12. It was that weekend that it rained all through. Then, on October 14, which was a Monday, it also rained and Precious said she peed on the bed. That was her offence that made my daughter and her mother to descend on her like that.

“When they finished, they brought her back and dumped her at my place in Apapa Road, Ebute Metta. She was complaining of body pains and narrated what happened to her at her sister’s place in tears. I could not bear it and I wept as she was talking.

“My wife and I bought painkillers that we gave her. My wife was also using hot water and cloth to massage her body. We did not know that it was so bad. When we saw that she was not getting better despite the painkillers, we decided to take her to FMC because that’s where she was born.

“She was already stooling on her body and her mother was cleaning it. So, at the hospital, she was rushed to the emergency room after the doctors said she was short of blood. They did so many tests and scans and discovered that she was bleeding internally and that her bladder burst too.

“She was in the hospital some days and was booked for emergency surgery. I was busy running around to raise money to save my daughter’s life. I even borrowed from friends and family members so that she could be saved but at last we lost her.

“Nneka did not tell me what happened to my daughter and did not even come to the hospital until her relative from her mother’s side who works at the FMC called her to rebuke her. That was when she came and spent about N14,000 on my daughter’s drugs that day.

“I did not go to the police station then because I was busy running around for my daughter to be alright. But after she passed on…my kinsmen advised I report at the station. I went to Denton Police Station and Iponri but they told me it did not happen in their jurisdiction and that I should go to Lekki to report.
“I just sent a message to her husband and told him what she did. My wife has been inconsolable since then.

“I want justice for my daughter. I feel very disappointed that this happened to my family. I want human rights to come and government to investigate this case. Nneka is my daughter but Precious is also my daughter and she did not deserve to die like that,” he said.

The mother of the deceased told our correspondent she was still in shock over the incident, denying insinuations that Precious might have been ill.

She said: “My daughter was very healthy and even cooked for her younger ones that day before following Nneka. Nneka and her mother should explain what happened to my daughter.
Nneka was brought to my house when she was 17 and we trained her in the university. I never did any wrong to her and then, she chose to pay me back this way?”

Our correspondent contacted Nneka for her reaction to the allegation and she said she would call back because where she was in a noisy place. After 90 minutes, our correspondent called again but she asked, “Who gave you the information?

I cannot answer you if you do not say who gave you information. If you are recording me, I am recording you too and we all have our exhibits.”
Later, a woman, Tolu Fagbayila who said she was Nneka’s manager and public relations person called but declined to give her client’s side of the story.
She insisted on a physical meeting for a way forward.

Our correspondent told her a physical meeting was not necessary and that Nneka’s reaction could be sent through email, WhatsApp or SMS by the lawyer or anyone speaking on her behalf but that was not done.

Nneka reportedly told those around her the teenager died as a result of ruptured appendicitis, adding that the girl was ill before she took her to her house.
Efforts to reach her mother Seki Eko on her telephone number were unsuccessful.
Meanwhile, a coalition of child advocates has signified interest in the matter following The Nation online report of the case.

Mr. Omenka told our correspondent that the advocates have contacted and interviewed him, adding that they also volunteered to take over the case and ensure justice.

Sources at the police station said an order to exhume the teenager’s body would be sought so that autopsy could be conducted.

Police spokesman Bala Elkana confirmed the case was reported at Ajiwe Division in Ajah, adding that the suspects have been arrested.

He said, “The father of the girl reported the incident at Ajah Police Station. He said he has since buried the girl. We have arrested the suspects and the case has been transferred to homicide section of State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence (SCIID) Yaba.”

A 34 year old female teacher is being investigated by Gweru police for allegedly sexually assaulting a 17 year old boy in her class at Guinea Fowl High School.

Midlands Provincial police spokesperson Inspector Joel Goko confirmed the case but stated that a formal complaint hasn’t been lodged yet.

“Police acting on a tip off concerning alleged abuse of a 17-year-old boy by his 35-year-old teacher went to Guinea Fowl High School on Tuesday and interviewed the headmaster, the school development committee representatives and the teacher in question,” said Insp Goko.
The female teacher, Insp Goko said, dismissed the allegations when interviewed.

“During investigations, it came to light that the female teacher and the pupil share the same house. At school she teaches him (subject mentioned) and after that they are in the same house. Investigations also revealed that there is a third teacher who stays in that house,” he said.
“So the headmaster told the police that the school was investigating the matter.

The female teacher refuted the allegations saying they were unfounded. She said she knows the pupil because she teaches him and after work or classes they share the same house.”

Insp Goko said the pupil could not be interviewed by the police because he is sitting for his final Ordinary Level examinations.

The matter is still under investigation.

A Ghanaian pastor has been arrested in the country’s capital Accra for allegedly rubbing olive oil on the vagina and clitoris of female church members.

According to reports, Pastor Edmond Kakrae Agyei claimed he was casting out evil spirits that had possessed the victim by applying the oil in their private parts.

The alleged pastor had previously been charged for indecent assault and breach of trust.
The Tesano Divisional Crime Officer, DSP Aba-Afari, who confirmed the incident to DAILY GUIDE, said one of the victims is an 18-year-old Senior High School graduate who fellowships with her parents in that church.

The pastor confided in the victim’s mother (named withheld) after church service that God had revealed to him through a vision that her daughter was possessed with an evil spirit.
He requested the woman to allow the girl come for deliverance service.

On that faithful day, the mother of the victim asked her daughter to go for service but when the victim got to the church, the pastor requested that they go to his house for the said deliverance to be carried out and the victim obliged.

At his residence, the pastor allegedly asked the victim if she had ever accepted any love proposal from a man but she answered negative.
“Pastor Edmond Kakrae Agyei again asked the victim if she had experienced menstrual pains before and the victim answered in the affirmative,” DSP Aba-Afari narrated.

The police officer said the founder of the church then told the victim that the menstrual pains were the work of the devil and that he could deliver her by smearing anointing oil on her navel.
The pastor then ordered the victim to lie down and remove her dress while he rubbed the oil on her naval and parts of her abdomen.

The suspect further asked the victim to remove her pants and he rubbed the oil on the victim’s vagina and clitoris.

When the victim asked him to explain his actions, the pastor allegedly said he was being directed by the Holy Spirit to do so.
The 18-year-old victim resisted and attempted to stand up.

Pastor Agyei at that point grabbed the victim and forcefully kissed her and it was at that point that the victim raised an alarm for help.

The victim overpowered the pastor, came out of his room and reported the matter to her parents.
A compliant was later lodged with the police which led to his arrest.

According to Punch Metro, the men of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a father, Ayobami Isiaka, for allegedly killing his one-year-old baby, Nana, at Ijaye, in the Isheri area of the state.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, in a statement on Sunday, said when a disagreement occurred between Ayobami and his wife, the suspect forcefully took Nana from the mother and slammed her on the ground.

He stated that Nana, whose head was shattered, died on the spot, adding that Ayobami’s brother reported the incident to the police.

Elkana said, “On Saturday, October 26, 2019, around 6.50pm, one Alhaji Garuba Isiaka reported at the police station that on the same date, around 6pm while at Berger, he received a phone call from his younger brother, Alhaji Mohammad Isiaka, that Ayobami Isiaka forcefully seized his one-year-old daughter, Nana, from the mother and hit her on the ground.

“The baby’s head was shattered and she died on the spot. The suspect was almost lynched by a mob if not for the timely intervention of the police. He will be charged with murder”.

A weird scene played out at a three day church programme organized by Ghanaian preacher Abruku Abruka, as the General Overseer of Anointed Palace Chapel Rev. Obofour made a member of the church he visited, smoke weed in the auditorium.

A woman rescued, among 107 others, by the police in Kwara state from yet another horrible rehabilitation centre has spoken about how she was raped daily by the uncle of the operator of the centre.

Olaide Arikewuyo Story: I Was Raped Daily

Olaide Arikewuyo said she had spent five years in the centre and alleged that she had been sexually abused by the uncle of the owner of the facility.
“I am living with the owner of the centre in their apartment and the uncle used to have carnal knowledge of me every night.

” Since I have nobody to turn to and it is not easy to escape from there, I have been abused by five men. In the process, I got impregnated and had three abortions. I just thank God that the police came to my rescue,” she said.

The Kwara State Police Command on Thursday said they uncovered the rehabilitation centre, named Sumuratu Mumeen Arabic Centre, Gaa-Odota Area in Ilorin.

How Was The Rehabilitation Center Uncovered?
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun said the command acted on an intelligence surveillance and raided the centre where 103 males and five females were discovered unlawfully detained in the centre.

“Some of the victims were observed to be have some forms of infections and diseases and were not treated while some others were mentally ill.
“Some of them during interview claim they were brought to the centre by their parents,” said the CP.

He said investigation was ongoing and that the police command would take care of the victims until their parents come to fetch them.

Waliyu Ali Story:

One of the victims, Waliyu Ali, said his parents brought him there because he was addicted to Indian Hemp.

He added that his parents believed that the place was a rehabilitation centre and that he would stop smoking Indian Hemp after spending some months there.

Abdulazeez Korede Story:

Another victim, Abdulazeez Korede, said “my parents brought me there because I am a drug addict and they want to stop me from taking hard drug.

“But to my surprise I was chained and beaten up mercilessly and taken under ground where other guys like me were kept when my parents left.
” I was kept in a dungeon for four months where there was no sunlight or window and no proper food.”

Tope Owonifari Story:
Another inmate, Tope Owonifari, said he was taken there because he was troublesome and used to smoke cigarette.

He added that despite the founder collecting N15,000 monthly food allowance from his parents, “I was not given proper meal”.

“The owner of the centre charged my parents N200, 000 for the treatment and I have spent four days here which is like four years to me,” he added.

Owonifari commended the Kwara police command for rescuing them.

A similar camp, Mallam Niga Rehabilitation Centre, in Rigasa Kaduna state was recently busted by the police, with 147 detainees rescued.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Oct. 19 directed the police to uncover all illegal detention (rehabilitation) centres and rescue those held there.

Allow me to introduce Dominic Slack-Oxley. Never heard of him, I hear you cry. Oh but you have. You hear from him every time you pick up a newspaper or turn on the TV news. Slack-Oxley is everywhere.

More than Facebook or Vladimir Putin, he is the most reliable source of fake news in Britain.
When you read about ‘Downing Street sources’ saying with absolute authority that Boris Johnson would never send a letter to Brussels to extend the Article 50 deadline, only for him to do just that, Slack-Oxley is to blame. When political correspondents boast of their exclusive access to ‘Number 10 sources,’ ‘Government sources’ and the ‘Prime Minister’s official spokesman,’ they mean Dominic Slack-Oxley is using them to push out the latest propaganda line.

Like many fantastical fictions, Dominic Slack-Oxley is not one man but many. A part of him is Robert Oxley, Boris Johnson’s press secretary, and a former spin-doctor for Vote Leave. Here is how he operates. On 24 August, the Observer revealed that Johnson was considering closing Parliament to avoid scrutiny of his Brexit plans. Oxley told political correspondents attending the G7 summit the story could not be more wrong. They dutifully reported a ‘government spokesman’ as saying the ‘claim that the government is considering proroguing Parliament in September in order to stop MPs debating Brexit is entirely false.’

I phoned those correspondents up and they told me that Oxley was the ‘government spokesman’ in question. I passed the information on to Observer readers, and it was not denied. A few days later Jacob Rees-Mogg persuaded the Queen to suspend Parliament on Johnson’s behalf.

When you hear ‘the Prime Minister’s official spokesman’ promise that X will happen, only for Y to happen within hours of his announcement, you are usually hearing the voice of the unimprovably-named James Slack. Any sensible Conservative politician would run a mile from him. While he was working at the Daily Mail , he wrote the copy for its ‘Enemies of the People’ attack on the judiciary of November 2016, before being appointed as the Prime Minister’s Official Spokesperson by Theresa May.

Nothing did more to radicalise liberal opinion and turn moderate conservatives against the Brexit right. As a result, most people on my side of the argument believe Brexit is no longer just a fight about membership of the European Union but a defence of the British constitution against its enemies. But then Johnson has to appeal to the portion of the electorate lost in raging conspiracy theories about the ‘Remainer elite’ and I suppose it isn’t a surprise that he didn’t sack Slack or cut out the Slack, but kept him in the job instead.
Behind them both lies Dominic Cummings. The Downing Street press operation fears him as a loose cannon but dares not contradict him.

I suppose it is to the credit of Westminster journalists that they actually acknowledge Cummings exists. And for this chink of transparency – this one glimmer of light amid the murk – their readers and viewers are doubtlessly grateful. I doubt, however, if one reader or viewer in a 100,000 knows the names of Oxley or Slack.
And that’s just the way Dominic Slack-Oxley likes it. By extending the protections afforded to whistleblowers (whose jobs would be at risk if they were identified) to official government spokesmen who take no risks and whose actual job, paid for by the taxpayer, is to speak out for their employer, journalists create a propagandist’s paradise.

Paragraph 14 of the Special Advisers Code of Conduct says: ‘Special advisers must not take public part in political controversy… They must observe discretion’ and ‘express comment with moderation’. It accepts that special advisers charged with dealing with the press are allowed ‘a degree of political commitment’. However, ‘briefing on purely party political matters must be handled by the Party machine’.
It forgets to note that, as long as journalists are the eager conduits for unattributed spin, the code is unenforceable.

Here are two newspaper stories that make the point for me. The first appeared in the Mail on Sunday at the end of September. Number 10 ‘sources’ claimed Remain MPs were engaged in ‘foreign collusion’ with the French government and the EU in a ‘plot to allow John Bercow to send a “surrender letter” to Brussels asking for a delay to Brexit’.

The second story should have appeared but didn’t. It reported that Oxley, Slack or Cummings or a Dominic Slack-Oxley combination of the above ‘claimed’ that a plot was afoot.

Between the two stories lies the difference between a free press and a courtier press. Openness allows politicians and their sidekicks to be held to account when the story is revealed to be ‘party political’ garbage. It was always likely that it would in this case.

The Mail on Sunday piece even admitted that ‘No 10 declined to discuss what evidence they had’. And as a point of fact, Johnson forgot his promise to ‘die in a ditch’ rather than ask for an extension and sent the ‘surrender letter’ himself.
Reform should begin at the editorial level.

Reporters would not dare stand up to Downing Street on their own, so editors, particularly editors at the TV stations, must take two steps.
They must insist that when the Prime Minister’s official spokesman (or his counterparts in the opposition parties) gives a briefing he must be named – as he is in virtually every other modern democracy. Editors would then have to decide whether to blow the whistle when a ‘Downing Street source’ consistently fed them fake news, or quietly ban their reporters from speaking to him or her again.

You may retort that the pack of Lobby correspondents contains some of the best journalists in the country – and you would be right. You could say that Westminster journalism has always offered the protection of anonymity to ‘sources’ who don’t need it. And you would be right again.

The trouble with the Johnson administration is that it has taken existing conventions and pushed them to the point where political correspondents are complicit in disinformation campaigns.

In the end, their viewers and readers will lose trust in them. Indeed, many already are. As Robert Harris said recently: ‘the quality of Brexit coverage would be vastly improved if Dominic Cummings was named as the source each time he briefs a journalist. In 40 years I’ve never seen so much hyperbolic garbage treated as serious news.’

The Lobby has allowed Dominic Slack-Oxley to become Westminster’s equivalent of Macavity the Mystery Cat, who can never be caught or held to account for his crimes. If T.S. Eliot were covering the Brexit debacle, he could update Cats and write:

‘Slack-Oxley, Slack-Oxley, there’s no one like Slack-Oxley
There never was a cat of such deceitfulness and suavity.

He always has an alibi, and one or two to spare:
At whatever time the deed took place – SLACK-OXLEY
WASN’T THERE!
