The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO is partnering with Nigeria's leading Football Consultancy Group, 5Stars Football to organize the 2021 Special People's Cup aimed at empowering persons with disabilities and internally displaced people in the country.

UNESCO, a specialized agency of the United Nations which seeks to build peace through international cooperations and contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals, aims to engage Persons With Disabilities across the country through Football and other Traditional Sports.

The 2021 Special People's Cup will also engage physically challenged youths across IDP camps, as part of UNESCO's programme to promote inclusion and empower people who have been displaced from their homes and affected as a result of violence and other forms of discrimination.

Traditional Sports including Football, Baram sport, Basketball and Board Games will be competed by over 100 Participants in this year's edition, which UNESCO says would provide an opportunity to empower them with new skills and capabilities.

A coaching clinic will also be held for people interested in supporting the discovery of new talents at IDP camps in the country with the Nigerian Red Cross Society providing medical support for the event.

5Stars Football Consultancy will be joined on the project by strategic partners, including The Africa-Carribbean Foundation, Baram Sport, Inara Foundation School for Special People, Roost Foundation, Konsole Sport Football and media support from leading media houses in the country including BenTVLondon, AIT and TOSTVnetwork.

The 5Stars Special Cup 2021 will run from July 9-10, 2021 at the Old Parade Ground, Area 10, Abuja.

Entertainment Celebrities and Hospitality Business Owners are set to kick off the 3rd Edition of the annual Lagos Club Cup (LCC), which will hold between Sunday 13th & Monday 14th of June 2021.

The football competition, which is in its third year, is aimed at promoting social interaction through grassroot football in the country.

This year's edition tagged #FootballForPeace, will see Entertainers and hospitality companies ranging from different night clubs, lounges & Bars in Lagos gather at the Landmark Beach Football Arena in Victoria Island for a novelty match against Entertainment Celebrities in both male and female categories.

Speaking ahead of the event, Project Manager and Lead Consultant at 5Stars Football Consultancy, Olumide Aturu explained that this year's edition is aimed at lending voices towards peace advocacy for the country amid the violence, insecurity and social injustice.

According to Aturu, "Considering the whole unrest and other vices in the country, this year’s edition is tagged #FootballForPeace, because we intend to create awareness about the role of Nigerian Youths in becoming lead advocates for Peace and not Violence in the country".

Notable Stars including Ex-BBNaija & Supersport Analysts, Ozo, Neo, Jimmy, YoungJohn, Naira Marley, WofaiFada, Beverly Osu, Pearl Hart and popular Instagram and YouTube comedians like Josh2Funny, BelloKreb, Amadi Man will feature in the match, which will have English FA Cup Winner, John Fashanu & Ace footballer Odion Ighalo in attendance.

Beer barn won the inaugural edition of the Lagos Club Cup in 2019 after beating Quilox in the finals, before they were dethroned by current holders, Czars lounge who won the last edition.
