Politics / Re: More Than 48hours After The Alleged Lekki MASSACRE, Who Are The Victims? by iotama22: 6:13am On Oct 25, 2020
LukasPodolski:
let's ask ourselves this question, who are the victims of the alleged Lekki MASSACRE?

Definition of MASSACRE : said, , without proof, to have taken place or to have a specified illegal or undesirable quality.

95% of pictures flying around (on the internet) were fake, old pictures, many of the alleged victims came out to debunk the news.

WHAT IS HAPPENING?

Facts are sacrosanct. Some of us have many convincing reasons to believe the Lekki Massacre.

1. There was shooting that night as we can see from the video I sent earlier.

2. There are victims. Business Day is a reputable news outfit at least https://businessday.ng/news/article/the-lekki-massacre-and-end-sars-protests-across-nigeria-in-29-pictures/. Plus Gov of Lagos confirmed two dead victims from the LEKKI SHOOTING https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/422446-endsars-sanwo-olu-confirms-two-deaths-from-lekki-shooting.html. Tinubu was at the Governor’s residence yesterday and also confirmed the shooting and victims
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89kqsbfMIIY.

3. Many people have been declared missing after the shooting, which lends credence to the allegations that the army took away the victims’ corpses. Amnesty International is on the matter.
See some of the missing people here:
a) https://twitter.com/XlimDave/status/1319563682456764416?s=20
b) https://twitter.com/TheTimiOfLagos/status/1319990032850178050?s=20
c) https://twitter.com/Amanda__dara/status/1319996395361796103?s=20

f) https://twitter.com/Favy70718003/status/1319960866570338305?s=20

And there are still many more…. we will get to know them all with time considering the fact that there is sill chaos right now and people may not have the time to check on themselves right now.

4. Furthermore, Nigerian Army has a record of human rights violations even against its personnel and is guilty of dumping fallen soldiers and other victims of their brutality in mass graves. They did the same thing to the Shiite muslims https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/344340-nigerian-military-denies-burying-1000-soldiers-in-secret-mass-grave.html. Why must it be the same complaint against them all the time?

5. The Army has no business in a peaceful protest. In fact, it has no business with civilians at all if there is no civil war. Army is to maintain territorial integrity while anti riot police should take care of violent protests.

6. More so, whether the soldier shot into the air or water, the shooting was unnecessary.

Finally, nobody knows tomorrow. What shall we say if tomorrow we decide to protest peacefully or join a peaceful protest and suffer the same brutality?

We should condemn any act of brutality whether against us or any other human being.

Ire oo.

NAWA OO.
Who do Naija people like this
How does this make a testimony? They should all be worried and concerned that the bird died in their midst. Perhaps, it ate something, or was bitten by some poisonous animal there? There are a million possible reasons in this world that could cause the bird's death, and the least of them all is what these people are misleading us to believe.

Now, they'll call it a manifestation of the power of God against the devil. If that's how wicked your god is (not God), then spare us this stupid story.

Next story, please.

Romance / The Christopher Ehifoh Story: The Publication Is False by iotama22: 5:55pm On Sep 10, 2019
Most of us (bloggers) are non-professionals. That’s why organizations like CDD are training fact-checkers to tame the fake news merchants. Such a training is good so that many bloggers will stop writing stories with too much bias, and at the expense of their integrity. Bloggers need to report without bias and leave their audience to judge.

A Facebook user by name Kingsley Ughe from Udo Village in Edo State but lives in Lagos originated a story in 2017. The story went viral on many blogs. But Mr. Ehifoh being the person involved has dragged the first blog that published the story to court. The originator of the story is also in court. In the lawsuit, Ehifoh claims the publication is an attempt to assassinate his character. When he (Ehifoh) told me this development, I believe it’s newsworthy, and should be reported without bias – my reservations notwithstanding.

So what is the story? The story alleges that a Swiss based Edo man named Christopher Ehifoh fraudulently married 14 wives in Nigeria, and another one in Switzerland who got to know about the acclaimed husband’s escapades in Nigeria, and reported the incident to one JLAA (a law firm I guess). It was claimed that JLAA filed a lawsuit on behalf of the women in Nigeria which caused Ehifoh to flee Nigeria to Switzerland, and that the Swiss police arrested him upon arrival. See the details of the story here

https://www..com/talk/topic,328974.0.html

Two years after, the man surfaced with a lawsuit against the originator of the story, and the blog that first published it without doing due diligence. I contacted the various bloggers that published the story then. But none of them was forthcoming. Some immediately deleted the story.

The Swiss based Nigerian Mr. Ehifoh finally decided to react to the story going round the internet that he is a womanizer, fraudster and cheat who was arrested by the Swiss authorities. Mr. Ehifoh stated clearly that the publication was false and that he has never been arrested by the Swiss Authorities for any crime whatsoever despite the fact that he has visited Nigeria and returned to Switzerland severally. Of more interest is the fact that till date, he still resides in Switzerland.

Ehifoh stated that he has never in his life been married to 14 women as alleged in the malicious publication. To this end, he has vowed to get legal redress even in the face of being exposed to public ridicule and opprobrium.

Many of these bloggers really need to learn from the well established news media companies. None of them published the story as viral as it was. Of course, that is professionalism.

I'm making this post because i've seen few people ask get no reply (Maybe i missed it). I've shared my experience in the past but doing it one more time won't hurt. I wrote IELTS for the 2nd time in April 2019 and got LRWS - 8.5, 7.5, 6.5, 7.5. based on advice and the confidence i had that i wrote well, i applied for a remark and got upgraded to 7.5.

The reason for this post is to say if you have high scores in other areas and you are confident in your writing/speaking, please apply for a remark as soon as possible.

The process for applying for MOD/IDP is this: send them an email requesting a remark (info@ielts.ng) including your exam number and centre number. they will send you the forms to fill as well as account/amount to pay.

Once you pay, send form back along with proof of payment. They will confirm receipt and inform you that your EOR is going to be reviewed. This next part is important... within a day or two, Follow up with an email to IDP Australia (idpieltsaustralia@idp.com) and copy IDP Nigeria (email above) confirming that they have received your request for remark.

Once they respond and confirm that its been received or looked into, you can now sit down and wait for the results.

P.S:- always tick remark for at least 2 sections just incase once changes and the other doesn't, that way you'll still get refund and money is not lost. unless of course you've maxed out points in other areas.

Quite helpful – for a friend. Congratulations to you.

Or to sponsor him later when I have settled in Canada as a pharmacist.

It all depends on you. I think all you need to do if you want to file together right now is to get your marriage certificate. You can get it within a few days. You can file later too. In either case, you'll need your marriage certificate.

I wish you success.

In February this year, no fewer than 10 private jets owned by Nigerian pastors attending a pentecostal conference landed in Benin City, blocking all the roads in the inner cities with police.
Industry experts say it costs $700,000 to $4 million (N255.5m to N1.5bn) per year to run a private jet.
It means the 10 private jets owners who attended the pentecostal conference collectively spend N2.55bn to N15bn yearly to run their jets.
Yet they cannot collectively reason in that conference to:
1. Contribute money and build the best hospital in Nigeria for the first time in history.
2. Stop Islamization Agenda by selling their private jets and starting Jesus Christ or Christianity Bonds, or an equivalent of Islamic Bonds?

Family / Re: Since I Married My Wife, I Have Been Having Bad Luck by iotama22: 6:43am On Nov 24, 2017
I just shared your story with my audience on Facebook. See below brother.

I’m reading a lengthy story but I will summarize it because I believe we all need to learn something from it. It’s about a Nigerian guy who for the following reasons believes strongly that his wife is responsible for his misfortune:

1. He lost his job of 12 years barely 10 months after marrying the Lady...
2. He got married 4 years ago and no child with his wife till now...
3. His parents have always complained about his wife...
4. His wife condemns every effort he makes to start any business...
5. His wife turns down medical help because she believes their problem is spiritual so she’s always seeking spiritual solutions instead...
6. His wife has refuses to follow him to church despite claiming being spiritual...

Here are my thoughts my brother:
1. You lost your job of 12 years 10 months after your marriage not because your wife is a witch or something. It’s because of the country. People are losing their jobs daily. And very few jobs are available now. Please do not blame your wife for a general problem that is caused by government ineptitude and wrong societal perception.

2. Four years of no issue isn’t yet a case of childlessness, please! I do not think you should also blame your wife for this. Rather, blame your parents for mounting unnecessary pressure on you and your wife. After all, there are many couples that didn't have a child until after 10, 20, and even 30 years of marriage. Moreover, you guys are probably childless because you’re both worried about your job loss and joblessness. Free your minds.

3. Please tell your parents to stop complaining about your wife. Tell them you don’t want to hear such any longer, otherwise, they will destroy your marriage for you.

4. Your wife condemns every business effort you make… Yes, that is also a general problem with many Nigerian tribes, Yoruba in particular. I do not know your tribe but I suspect very strongly that you are not Igbo. Igbo women support their husbands’ businesses very well. The average Yoruba mind is wired to work in the office. My brother, you and your wife may never agree on this. So take it as your cross and look for like minds who will encourage you as you share your business ideas with them.

5. Your wife turns down medical help and believes you should go spiritual. Again, this is a general problem with us in Africa. We prioritize spirituality over and above anything, including common sense. Even some Nigerian medical doctors, essentially due to lack of equipment and incompetence, will tell you to forget orthodox medicine and seek spiritual help for an ailment that is purely scientific. So don't think she is evil. She is just a victim of our general mental laziness in Nigeria.

6. Your wife does not follow you to church. Sure, what were you expecting before? Most times, Nigerian husbands and wives don't like to worship in the same church. This is a family cum doctrinal background issue. Some people believe that you have to attend a church where they pray and fast 365 days in 6 months to address a problem that requires an ordinary phone call to the right person.

My Advice: Make out time with your wife. Let her understand you love her and will always support her dreams. Ask her what she wants to do and help her pursue it wholeheartedly. Spend more quality time with her as well. You guys will have children in no time.

Finally, this is for everyone reading this. Stop blaming your failure and government/societal ineptitude on your relatives, especially spouses and parents. Let’s always take full responsibilities for our actions and inactions.

Good morning.

The herbalists are no different from the people killing in the name of religion, especially the killers of the woman preacher in Abuja, the woman in Kaduna, and the man in Zamfara.

There's a problem with the way Africans practice and defend their religions.

It's all due to lack of civic education anyway.

Re: Sahara Reporters’ Publication about James Ocholi – Does it matter where the meat is placed?
A husband returned home after a hectic workday. He went straight to the dining table for his dinner while his wife was busy attending to other things in the house. The wife later asked, "Honey, did you see two pieces of meat I put on your meal?" The man's response was a resounding NO. The wife, apparently surprised, was beginning to think one her children must have picked the meat from the food. Then the man quickly said, "HONEY, THE PIECES OF MEAT WERE NOT ON THE TOP OF MY FOOD, THEY WERE ACTUALLY IMMERSED BENEATH POTTAGE."

The pertinent question here is, does it matter where the man found the meat? He has the full right to eat the meat, and it does not matter what kind of meat and where it is positioned. Lawyers have no other meat to eat in life but the cases they so choose to defend. Lawyers all over the world are allowed to defend anyone, including those who have perpetually committed very horrendous crimes. It does not matter where their clients hail from, where the crime originates from, the nature of the crime, and so on. What counts to them is their ability to prove to the world the innocence of their clients. That is their profession, and we must respect them for that.

James Ocholi (SAN) is constitutionally allowed to defend any case – his piece of meat – in the court of law regardless of where the case originates from. As long as his hands have not been soiled in corruption during the course of defending his clients, we must continue to accord him all due respect. He is one of Nigeria’s finest cognoscenti and emerging change champions, and Nigerians need to treat him as such.
Sahara Reporters team needs some ‘koboko’ (horsewhip) for the ignis fatuus published about James Ocholi on Friday October 30, 2015. Such a story does not deserve an editorial mention by an acclaimed reputable news publishing company like Sahara Reporters. That hateful story strikes one like a piece written by a “learner” who has no iota of understanding of the legal profession. Consequently, the writer does understand that the singular fact that James Ocholi (SAN) by defending any of his clients has not contravened the Nigerian Legal Ethics – one of the criteria for screening him as a ministerial nominee.

Furthermore, James Ocholi was never the defense counsel to the accused in two of the three cases Sahara Reporters mentioned in that malicious piece. James Ocholi was never counsel to Dr. Yunus Nazif, the lecturer accused of terrorism in Kogi State. Nazif’s counsel is Barrister Hassan Liman (SAN). Secondly, Barrister Idigbe (SAN) was the counsel to the former FinBank MD Okey Nwosu. Besides, the said case has been dismissed by the court.

At this point of reference, it is pertinent to cite an example in order to clear the clouds further on this subject, and help Sahara Reporters avoid repeating the same mistake in the future. The case of American defense attorney, John Henry Browne, finds wide expression here. Our primary focus is Attorney Bales’ role in the prosecution of the Kandahar massacre in which Staff Sgt. Robert Bales of the U.S. Army was accused of murdering 16 Afghan citizens (mostly women and children). To avoid death penalty, Bales alongside the US military passionately defended Sgt. Robert with the claim that Robert became extremely upset after seeing a friend’s leg blown off the day before the massacre.

“I think the message for the public in general is that he’s one of our boys and they need to treat him fairly,” Browne said in the court. Also Browne cautioned the US Government officials, maintaining that the government should not blame the massacre on the accused but on the war itself. Browne eventually got life sentence for his client in place of death sentence. Browne has been practicing law for 43 years, and has defended high-profile mass murderers, including serial killer Ted Bundy, who sowed fear across the US in the 1970s.

Finally, those who fail to appreciate the works of a defense attorney like James Ocholi (SAN) should pray that they will never be dragged to the court for a crime they know nothing about or did not commit.

One question his supporters fail to ask themselves is, why did the people who supported Jonathan during the first campaign turn their back on him when he was contesting the second time? Jonathan messed himself up.

Jonathan was frank enough to confess that he was caged for six years, and he also said he was surrounded by bad advisers... yet some people are still here defending him. I hear you.

I am not Saraki's fan, but I must state that the argument on his citizenship is too petty. Whoever started it is lame. I trashed it upon arrival.

There are other more important issues to address: ex-governor currently serving at NASS will be robbing the country if they collect pensions in their respective states, alongside senator's salaries and allowances. This is what I call daylight robbery.

We need to have the Senate leadership address this matter immediately. There is no time to waste. People should face the reality of Saraki's leadership, and work with him.

Aggrieved parties should return to the drawing board to regroup and restrategize against him. Simple.

Jobs/Vacancies / Easy Job Vacancy: Google Looks For Content Makers To Test Its Jump Virtual Reali by iotama22: 6:26pm On Jun 25, 2015
Google is seeking content makers to test its Jump virtual reality video camera. This job vacancy by Google Inc. is for you if you have experience in handling video cameras, or general videography.

If you're an aspiring virtual reality content producer, Google wants to give you a chance to test the Jump camera system it developed for recording video to be used in VR environments.

People interested in trying their hand at capturing 360-degree video with Jump can fill out a form Google posted on Monday that asks basic biographical questions as well as details on how they would use the system.

Google didn't say how many "select creators" it would chose, but those who are picked will be able to start using the 16-camera rig this summer.

Google seems especially interested in people with creative backgrounds. The jobs that people can select in the form's occupation section include filmmaker, director, artist and production staff -- but there is an "other" section that allows write-ins if none of the above apply.

There's also a section where applicants can explain why they want to test Jump -- and "awesome answers might put you at the top of the list," Google said.

Google worked with GoPro to build Jump, which has 16 of the company's Hero4 cameras attached to a circular frame. Jump's price and availability weren't provided when the rig was shown at Google's I/O developer's conference in May. However, given that a Hero4 camera retails for approximately $500, initial Jump buyers will likely have deep pockets.

The first videos created with Jump will appear on YouTube this summer, Google said at I/O. People will be able to experience them via the Google Cardboard viewer.

Just compare these pictures and what they suggest about the Nigerian Police Force. Here is my interpretation: If you train them wrongly, they will be stationed wrongly, housed wrongly, and worst of all, relate wrongly with the people they are supposed to protect!

Who has visited their training school in recent times? Kindly share your experience whether they have completed the renovation or not. Also tell us about the quality of the job there.
