britiko:1. PR through studies has always been frowned at by immigration offices of most developed nations. That's why most student-visa applicants are required to prove their commitment to return to their home country after the expiration of their visa. In UK, the student route is almost non-existence. In Australia, for most occupations, they introduced a professional year concept, without which you can't be eligible to claim points for your studies. I opine that international students in Canada are way luckier as they have a rare advantage of working (and make money) for 1-3 years; and still be able to claim points for those years. And for the record, tuition is way higher in Australia, I paid $35000 annually about 4 years ago and possibly over $40000 for current students. 2. Let's be realistic, aside from the cooks and the few individuals whose skills are in high demand, the rest of the inlanders are international graduates. Also, a number of these international students left Canada to apply from their home countries, suffice to assume that these few individuals would also slightly impact the number of applicants who applied from outside of Canada. 3. Who says NOC B and O are management jobs? Mind you, IRCC can not gaurantee ALL students PR, they can only provide a pathway, which they have done. IRCC simply expected them to invest their 2-3 years to scout for skilled job and bingo!!!, they get their migration points. Trust me mate, most of those whining are those who either are unable to ACE their IELTS test or those who came-in to study for a diploma course. Come to think of it, an International graduate with Canadian Masters degree and a good IELTS score may not even need to hustle for the coveted Canadian work experience to bag their PR, they simply use the points allocated for Masters degree and Language score. And for international Students with Canadian BSc, they have 3 years of post study work visa (not sure though) to play with. My take is, any action taken by IRCC to favor these guys would invariably make things lots more difficult for Outlanders because IRCC aint gonna increase their annual quota. Right now, the bulk of those being invited are majorly inlanders and very few outstanding outlanders. What else do they want? 4 Likes |

britiko: International graduates have access to post study work visa, which a lot of them (international graduates) lean on to get their 1-3 years of Canadian work experience. Good points are awarded for these years of experience. To further buttress my point, if you take a look at the IRCC annual report of the number of applications processed between Jan 2015 and Jan 2016, over 78% of them were Inlanders (those who applied within Canada). Only 11.8% applied from outside (including those lucky enough to get PNP sponsorship). When I read of international graduates in Canada whining about how unfair the EE system has been to them, i just ignore them. How unfair could IRCC be to applicants outside of Canada (push it further to less than 10%)? And honestly, if the new low is gonna be 470/460, International graduates would always have the advantage, as it's difficult for an Outlander to be 29 years of age, have a masters, a 3 years of work experience and be outstandingly good in English language testing. 3 Likes |

40manlappy: I didn't go through the PNP route, as such, am not so conversant with the workings of the processes. More importantly, every since province has its peculiar pitfalls to avoid. However, there is no crime in trying. Technically, as long as they have not yet rejected the guy's sister, you are also still eligible. Try as many provinces as possible and am sure you would at least get one that would nominate you. Don't forget Australia too. |

dupyshoo: I am not sure they would still hit the 450 mark. You have to take into consideration points lost on age. They dropped some points with language test as well, irrespective of her fantastic score. In my own opinion, getting into Canada without PNP is increasingly getting difficult. Too much priority is being given to international students and those with Canadian work experience. |

Ramanto: Seriously!!! Even after reading this piece of information about her? Some of us fail to realize what makes us human, It's not our IQ or intelligence as other animals like dogs have shown they could also be trained and cultured. Love defines humanity; love and empathy. We stop being human the moment we relegate these values to the subconscious. To directly answer your question, those who carried her off the road and gave her some food to eat, "did something for her", irrespective of how little that may look. Everyone can pitch in, irrespective of how little. 2 Likes 1 Share |

40manlappy: Mozo is absolutely right on the IELTS stuff. Your letter of interest should underpins your commitment to live and work in Ontario. Anything that helps to prove "that" is relevant and should be included in your essay. Such as: Job vacancies in your occupation and that of your wife's (support this data analysis and report, include links & url if possible). Town and cities you intend to live (do a little google search) and why. Schools your kids would attend and why. Friends and family in Ontario to help you adapt quickly, etc. However, they has been a slowdown on OINP of recent, as such, we are not sure of how soon you would be getting a letter of interest. In the meantime, you can have a close look at Aussy migration system. Accounting is in demand in the federal/independent skilled migration scheme, as well as by a number of states. Try and check out how much points you can claim for education and work experience with CPA Australia. If you could muster 60 points with other criteria, then you can consider state sponsorship for additional 5 points to make 65. |

arresa: There is nothing irresponsible or against the law about flashing your money, you can do whatever you want with it. In America where you borrowed democracy from, it called freedom of expression and freedom of speech under the 1st amendment. Of course, the law guarantees your freedom to flash the bill, but you may be called to explain the source of cash if your cash flow doesn't support such overt display of opulence. At the very least, they may be forced to critically investigate your finances. Real or fake, you don't know and you did not vote for the kids, you voted for the parents and if it troubles you so much, vote out the parents or file EFCC petition. Exactly what we would do if they continue along that part. This is no different from the way APC faithfuls castigated Allison Madueke when her son was caught on camera squandering hard currency and flying private jet. What applies to Allison also applies to El-rufai irrespective of the parties they belong. Furthermore, if you think sons and daughters of public office holders have the leeway to squander funds with reckless abandon; why do law enforcement agencies like EFCC trace stolen funds to all family accounts (including kids)? |

arresa: 1. Kids playing with fake bills are excusable, only that the dude in the pix ain't a kid. More importantly, it is less likely those bills are fake judging from the circumstances around the pictures. 2. If this happened in any sane clime, the parent of such irresponsible kids would be lucky to still have a public office job. 3. If those bills are real, they are definitely stolen or gotten illegally. His father was made in politics and not in business. |

arresa: These dudes are NOT sub-18; they are adult for crying out loud, and more importantly, their parents are public office holders in charge of our national treasury. I wouldn't care a bit if a daughter or a son of a business mogul was to be seen squandering their parents' money. |

arresa: I am pro-APC and have been for a while, however, it leaves a very bad taste in the mouth seeing a son/daughter of a public officer flaunting cash this way. If these pictures were taken recently, they would simply underpin the hypocrisy of APC leaders. A lot of Nigerians voted them with the anticipation they would do things differently from the way PDP and Family squandered our resources. And for the records, your excuse that the bills may be fake is simply lame. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Awarri: Resit for IELTS and make sure you score as high as possible, at least, 8,7,7,7 LSWR. And if you scored atleast 7.0 in all the modules, you may also want to consider Australian skilled migration program, provided your occupation matches any of the occupation on the SOL list or individual state sponsorship list. Doing well in IELTS isn't as difficult as it appears; you just have to sit down and master the tricks and tips the same way an average Indian/Chinese tester does. Personally, I got inspired to ACE mine when I saw the IELTS result of my Indian colleague, who obviously was not so excellent in English Language. The dude had 9 9 8 8 LRSW. 1 Like |

40manlappy: Ontario PNP is now getting very competitive, as such, you have to be as convincing as possible. Your letter of intent to reside in Ontario should be very strong. Referring to friends and family you have in Ontario may also help. Don't forget your wife's work reference letter. As for the medicals and PCC, it's ideal you wait till you are nominated by Ontario before you do them, as they both have expiry/invalid date. There is also this trend that old profiles on EE are usually overlooked by Ontario for the coveted letter of interest. So, if you don't receive the letter over a period of time, you may want to recreate your profile. You may also consider other provinces where your wife's NOC is in demand. Wish you guys all the best. 1 Like |

wonlasewonimi: My aim exactly. By ball park estimate, over 95% of bus drivers and truck driver would be out of license, and to a great extent, we can assume the remaining few are sane enough to drive safely. Furthermore, the Road safety head should hire more personnel to enforce license violation. Trust me, the resulting fines for defaulters would easily offset their wages; and more importantly, our road would become safer. |

Reference: 2 wrongs do NOT make a right. I boil with anger when I read of the carnage perpetrated by the Fulanis. I even hated it more that these atrocities were committed without punitive measures from the law enforcement agencies. Every lives matters and PMB disappointed me in this regard. All these notwithstanding, it's absolutely wrong and dangerous for the media to peddle false information, especially on issues bordering on national security. Let the media learn to report things as they are without without any ounce of sensationalism. 1 Like |

Road Safety need to draw up a plan/program which would see every driver's license holder re-validate their license over the next 12 months. This exercise should include relevant exams such as psych evaluation, Eye test, written road safety test and comprehensive drive test. Most Nigerians as at today know next to nothing on road safety. 2 Likes |

On the average, a mere manslaughter fetches you a 9 years sentence. Away from the talk on the appropriate punitive measure for that unrepentant drunk; put yourself in the same shoe with the victims, would you be calling for the same God's grace if the late Dr was to be your son? I reckon your PPR mail should specify where to mail your passport. If there is no mention of any VO in the US in the PPR mail, then, they expect you to mail it to Ottawa. |
