Politics / Chief Dumo Lulu-briggs Enjoins Apc Party Faithfuls To Be Courageous And Raise On by ishaqwaaaqil(m): 6:09am On Jan 28, 2018 |
Read More At: http://isyakubaba..com.ng/2018/01/chief-dumo-lulu-briggs-enjoins-apc.html The Free Rivers Initiative held the inaugural ceremony of the NGO in the LGA, at Kpite, Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State, on Saturday, January 27, 2018, and the ground breaking event attracted thousands of Ogoni sons and daughters, as well as their fellow Rivers brothers and sisters from other areas of the state, who trooped out to show solidarity and express their unalloyed loyalty to the leader of the party, the Honourable Minister of Transportation of the Federal Republic, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. The leader of the party, though, couldn't make it due to unforeseen circumstances, but with other illustrious sons and daughters of Rivers State, party leaders and stalwarts, under the able supervision of the Chairman of FRDI, Chief Sampson Ngeribgara, the occasion proceeded smoothly with huge record of attendance and reaffirmation of support to the All Progressives Congress, APC. One of the party leaders who attended the event and greatly inspired the mammoth crowd with a wonderful speech, was none other than the Port Harcourt philanthropist, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs. In a very short speech that lasted for few minutes, Chief Lulu-Briggs described the gathering as an amazing one and called on Rivers people to bring down fear and raise courage: "What we are seeing here today is amazing; clearly 2018 shall be an amazing year for all of us. The mantra in this state remains "One God, the Almighty God, One state, Rivers State, one party, the APC and One leader, the Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. It is written in the Bible that when you seek first the kingdom of God, all other things shall be added unto you. With this spiritual arrangement, and once you put things in their right order, it can only be one victory after another. And by 2019, Brick House for APC is assured. Of course, in Aso Rock, there's no vacancy. The music that we feel in Rivers State today cannot be better expressed; there's despair everywhere. Fear, hate and despair have taken the place of courage, love and hope. The symbol of your dream for a better Rivers State is to restore that hope and love; and I believe that you have the capacity to do it. Today, we are collectively saying that fear must fall and courage must rise; we must rise up and raise one another and the time to do that has come. "I want to thank all of you; we are proud that this mammoth crowd came out to honor our leader and our great party. Circumstances at the airport prevented him to be here as promised but his heart is with you. God bless you all." APC leaders who joined Chief Samson Ngerebara and Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs to Grace and add colour to the epochal event included: His Excellency Rt. Hon. Asita Honourable ( National Vice President ) Hon. Ikenga Chibike ( Secretary General ) Hon. Chikordi Dike ( President Obio/Akpor ) Hon. Dr Lawrence Chuku ( Mobilization and Logistics ) Hon. George Feyii ( President Free Rivers Khana LGA ) Hon. Fred Bombo Igwe ( President Free Rivers Eleme LGA ) Lady Joi Nunieh Hon. Akpobari Celestine Hon. Nairaland / General / Our Dear Pre-youths (teenagers) What's Wrong? by ishaqwaaaqil(m): 8:33pm On Jan 27, 2018 |
Read More At: http://isyakubaba..com.ng/2018/01/our-dear-pre-youths-teenagers-whats.html By Isyaku Baba I called them pre-youths because it's still remaining little for them to be fully called youths. A lots of our teenagers are totally getting it wrong in trying to choose a life style, they have been engaged in so many wrong things due to their over exposure to social life, many of them have been wrongly inspired by these celebrities lifestyle and that has led them to so many bad things in our society. An incident happened which is making me to write this article particularly, a boy of 19 years old secretly snapped the ATM Card of a man at their place of worship unknowingly after the ATM Card felt down which was shortly found by close by people, the essence of he snapping the ATM card front-and-back was to supposedly hack into his account which he did. Very few days after this incident, the ATM owner got to notice that deductions were made from his account of which he stated that the first transaction the hacker did was of 15,000naira and countless transactions were made which i can't really remember the worths specifically. The 19 year old boy was later traced by his bank transfers from the victim's account to his account and that let to the boy being caught. He was later questioned for the purpose of these engagements and his excuses were, he wants to purchase a horse for pleasure. Now imagine this boy going through this advanced way of defrauding all because of pleasure. My question is, how was he able to break through the One Time Password (OTP) that is normally sent to the phone number of the ATM card bearer which at times lasts for 5 - 10 to 15 minutes then expires whereas the card bearer wasn't totally aware of it until when he checked and noticed his bank account reduction. Seriously this act must be very tactical. Up till this moment the case is still ongoing... Teenagers why are you all venturing into all listed below: ° Mini-Thefts ° Unnecessary Lies ° Bad Peer Groups ° Wrong Aspiration Or does it mean you're not being fed properly at home or you're always busy looking at those who are blessed with wealth and therefore have the capacity of affording all they want? Sincerely, it is a bad way of reasoning and it won't take you to anywhere good but misfortunes. In a news past days, Chamath Palihapitiya, Facebook former vice president of user growth said he feels “tremendous guilt” over his work on “tools that are ripping apart the social fabric of how society works” he also said “The short-term, dopamine-driven feedback loops that we have created are destroying how society works. No civil discourse, no cooperation, misinformation, mistruth.” All he said are the real truths. On this note we define social media as a home, a palace and a connectivity where people come together to share ideas and showcase their lifestyle (way of living). Thus, this has rendered so many teenagers useless hypnotizingly, it has caused massive arrogance in the society where the teenagers disrespect elders on countless times, it's totally bad. ° Mini-thefts: plenty teenagers have learnt how to thief on a low-key all because they want to be like their role models online, this has lead to Pocket pickings, Internet Scamming, Hitting (stealing) of their parent's Money, •Pocket picking is a known manual way of stealing by average Nigerians, many teenagers attracts to this because they also want to feel among so they need to pick pockets to gain little monies in pimping their swag. Gosh! These are lower class of teenagers who their parents are unfortunately in abject poverty yet they want to feel amid in their remote vicinity. • Internet Scamming: Internet scamming is one of the vast ways people cheats both the teenagers and aged. At least if we've not heard of any online scamming strategies, we would have heard of the Yahoo Boys who are trending all around the globe. They disguise to be beautiful ladies communicating with rich men or rather disguise as handsome men communicating with rich business women and female politicians, there they make good relationships with the people they met with online and extort money from them, some even go extreme by opting for black magics to get these people on their palms. All these things are happening due to the over exposure of these teenagers which their parents are carelessly not taking measures. • Hitting (stealing) of parent's money: Most teenagers have been doomed with this act of excessively sneaking their parents wealth to buy cars, expensive wears (designers) and horses, they look up to those that are over them, those that are struggling earners (hustlers), Politicians entourage and those that live life of illegality either drug dealers or further more. Truthfully, you can't be like them unless you possess almost everything in their possession and that leads to Bad Peer Groups and Wrong Aspiration. ° Bad Peer Groups: When you're always after being like the higher class you will love to mingle with hoodlums so as to arrogantly attract the community. Teenagers, It is very wrong to associate with hoodlums please, if you do currently, disengage yourself from such because it leads to so many bad things like Cultism, Intake of Alcohols and cigarettes, Armed Robbery, etc. I am sure none of the teenagers would love to be like that. ° Wrong Aspiration: Due to too much Social Media Whores, many teenagers are affected with their mode of dressings and hairstyles, shitty way of haircuts and so many. It is a petty that teenagers are so brainwashed that some wants to be gangsters, rock stars, terrorists, drifters, fashionistas, etc whereas their parents are blindly grooming them to be doctors, nurses, architects, and so on. Parents (Fathers in specifics), you ought to stop or reduce most of those things from them because it makes them loose interest on meaningful occupations you're aspiring for your teens. Social media does not stop on Facebooks, WhatsApps and Instagrams, it also comprises of their TV sets, radio sets, etc. Parents i advice you all to look carefully on these teenagers ensure they are rightfully guided and deny them from making unnecessary friends and using irrelevant technology devices. Everything has it's time and division of psychological thinking needs to be induced on them as everything they do and who they becomes after-time concerns you a lot. Teenagers i want you all to think on mature terms as you all are the leaders of tomorrow. Sorry for calling you pre-youths. Parents i want you to take care of them in due superiority. Blessings... 1 Like 1 Share |

Read More At: http://isyakubaba..com.ng/2018/01/youths-protest-poor-power-supply-in.html Youths in Niger state have staged a peaceful protest on Thursday against what they termed an epileptic power supply by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC). She said “yes! The whole incidence started when a petroleum marketer called Murtala Ilori (MURPET) came with a request to be granted approval to build a petrol filling station on a setback reserved for express road expansion in future, the board refused and he still went ahead to continue his building in defiance to the board’s denials of approval, the board then gave a 21 days notice to stop which he also violated and continued building, the board then wrote to the commissioner of police and the commissioner also asked him to stop, but he refused and finally the board wrote for police cover to embark on the demolition, which the board did, it was because of that he came to run down our staff and threatened to kill 5 of us, he even did same in the presence of the commissioner of police” Hajiya Habiba also said the board has also written a letter of petition to the Ministry of justice and have copied the commissioner of police, but the police invited him and let him go while she is awaiting the action of the Ministry of Justice as threats of dead and attempted murder cannot be treated with kids gloves. Meantime, the NIGER state police commissioner Mr. Dibal Yakasai has confirmed receiving such complains but said ‘I am in the church I will call back when I am out” as at the time of writing this story he has not called back. While Murtala Ilori, (Murpet) continues to the threaten the NUDB staff and even attempted killing one of them, others threatened say they are now living a life of fear except something fast done, the suspect might carry out his threat and go scot free. |

Nairaland / General / Nigerians And How To Deal In 2018 by ishaqwaaaqil(m): 5:20pm On Jan 05, 2018 |
Read More At http://www.tribuneonlineng.com/nigerians-deal-2018/ By Isyaku Baba We are in a successful new year for those that are opportune to be alive with us up till this moment and if I must say, 2018 is a year of; • Decision making • Consultations • Godliness & truthfulness • Togetherness From all stated above, this shows that 2018 is a very critical, crucial and significant year to pass by. So many people have to settle and be very watchful of 2018 as it will also be the stepping stone towards 2019 and the decider of next four years leadership of political reign. How many of the masses have taken 2018 as such? Or have you forgotten that party primaries for all political parties would be done this year and every politician will be ready for their own inexhaustible struggles. Both the wanted and unwanted (by the masses) will run their campaign movements via 2018, every politician would run up and down, helter-skelter just to counter his campaign phobia and to see his success to the majestic seat of leadership come 2019 either with good intentions or otherwise. No political offices should be underrated from the National Assembly, state assembly, chairmen, councilors etc as far as each and everyone of them are under the tag politician. Let’s have a terse look on the above mentioned Decision Making: 2018 being the year at which all interested politicians will make their various declarations, then it should be the year at which the masses (youths and aged) will also make their final decision on who they want to passionately support and be voted for; everything done by the pass still has it’s own record on space and if it will cost you to go as far as China just to get the records then you must have to do that, though with Google search engine everything have been easily brought to the our finger tips, so knowing more on the portfolios of your representatives before making your final decision on who to support is very necessary and that easily takes us to level of consultations. Consultation: Consultations on this ground is on two bases: Consultations based on the personalities: Who is that person (politician) you want to vote for? Have you make consultations on his pedigree and most importantly his distinguish features, moral strength and his resolution. Seeking for this, is very conscientious and therefore should not be played with. Consultations based on electoral processes: Most of the masses do not know how important their votes are needed on election day and therefore do not care whether to vote or not, some are been taught on how to vote and whom to vote for on the day of election all in the name of “I Don’t Care But Let Me Go And Vote”. Since every individual votes casted usually counts then that’s definitely a bad idea to practice. It’s high time they knew the relevance of voting and how important their votes count. Don’t be a lazy one but be that one that stand by his votes without ignorance to protect the heart of his nation. Godliness & truthfulness: Prayer in life is constant because it is only what keeps the heart of life beating so the masses have to take prayers so seriously; praying for themselves, their candidates and the nation at large. As someone who is Godly and truthful, the supporter shouldn’t deceive the supported and vice-versa, be sincere to the person you’re supporting, show him much love, give advices and be very static. Dynamism causes confusion within parties and individuals so that shouldn’t be practice. Togetherness: One of the most important keys to achievement in this essence is firmness, a particular politician will never be successful without being firm which is never gotten unless with togetherness. As a politician, you need to have a team, this team of people are those that will stand for your mobilisations and to see your success at all course. The masses also have a huge stake on this, you people will never get who you want unless you realise togetherness, unless you take each other as one big family and respect the ideas of each and everyone of you, only with these, you will all have a strong mouthpiece, a platform that will be unbreakable and development shall finally come our ways. |
Politics / 2018 Ogoni Day Celebration: Heartfelt Felicitations From Dumo Lulu-briggs by ishaqwaaaqil(m): 3:28pm On Jan 05, 2018 |
Read More At http://isyakubaba..com.ng/2018/01/2018-ogoni-day-celebration-heartfelt.html I Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, heartily felicitate with our Ogoni brothers and sisters as you celebrate the 2018 Ogoni Day. I send my profound greetings to the entire Ogoni nation and wish you Happy New Year and a successful celebration. I recall that on January 4, 1993, the Ogoni nationality rose with one voice, under the aegis of The Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People, MOSOP, to declare the Ogoni Day and underline the struggle against the exploitation of their natural resources, including a resounding campaign for social, economic and environmental justice through nonviolence. The Ogoni struggle, as exemplified by the late Ken Saro Wiwa and other prominent Ogoni patriots, is a watershed; a worthy and worthwhile endeavour; an eloquent continuation of the struggles of the late Chief Dappa Biriye, the late Isaac Adaka Boro and our heroes past. The entire Niger Delta and all people of goodwill are therefore in partnership with Ogoni. I celebrate the Ogoni spirit of resilience, industry, dynamism and love, founded on the principles of peace, justice, equity and fairness. On this occasion of the 2018 Ogoni Day Celebration, I call on Ogoni people to unite and join hands with their other Rivers brothers and sisters to accelerate the actualization of the dreams of the founding fathers of Rivers state. The great desire today in our dear Rivers state, is for our people to collaborate in a renewed and collective partnership to address the myriad of problems that have destroyed opportunities and turned our people into beggars in their own state. The environment remains our greatest gift from Mother Nature. The control of our environment and economic independence are inseparable and all hands must be on deck to preserve and protect it for the benefit of our generation and the future generations. I commend the Federal Government of President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, on the very laudable initiative to re-energize the Ogoni clean-up exercise and urge that all efforts must be explored to implement and accelerate the Clean-up process. Finally, I express my heartfelt appreciation to the leadership of the Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People (MOSOP) for making the great leaders of Ogoni land who came together in 1993, to celebrate the first ever Ogoni Day proud, and sustaining the tenets and spirit of the struggle for over two decades. Congratulations and Happy Ogoni Day Celebrations. God Bless the great people of Ogoni God Bless Rivers state God Bless Nigeria. DUMO LULU-BRIGGS 4th January, 2018. |
Politics / Buhari Reappoints Amaechi Campaign DG Against 2019 by ishaqwaaaqil(m): 7:33am On Jan 03, 2018 |
Tinubu backs president second term, may seek commitments Olawale Olaleye Read More At: http://isyakubaba..com.ng/2018/01/buhari-reappoints-amaechi-campaign-dg.html With 2019 general election just 13 months away, it has come to light that President Muhammadu Buhari may have finally thrown his hat into the ring to seek re-election next year by reappointing his Minister of Transportation and former governor of Rivers State, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, as the Director-General of his 2019 election campaign. Already, Amaechi, who led Buhari’s campaign in 2015, our sources gathered, has been issued a letter of appointment for next year’s election and would make an official announcement on his appointment anytime soon. Twice last year, Buhari had hinted at a possible presidential run, albeit subtly. First, he did so during a summit on counter-terrorism in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, and the second time last November, when he visited Kano State on a two-day working visit. We gathered that although the president has refused to share his 2019 aspirations with many people, he has however intimated Amaechi of his intention to seek re-election. Amaechi before the 2015 elections had convinced Buhari, who after losing to former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2011 had said he would not contest for the presidency again, to re-contest in order to stabilise the polity and implement the “change” agenda of the All Progressives Congress (APC). However, this time around, Buhari was said to have confirmed his intention to run strictly to the “Buharists”, a group of loyalists formed by Amaechi and comprises governors of the APC, ministers, party chieftains and some prominent Nigerians, all of whom share the ideals of the group. Amaechi, formed the Buharists group at the height of growing criticism against the Buhari presidency and convinced its members to alter the narrative against the president. With the formation of the group, Amaechi was also said to have consulted with critical stakeholders in government, the party and the country, to first seek their buy-in and enjoin them to join the 2019 election bid, which according to sources, is expected to be much tougher than the 2015 contest. Sources close to the APC also hinted that although a majority of party members are not averse to the president’s re-election bid, they have however craved that things be done properly and expect Buhari to reach out to them personally to intimate them of his re-election bid. According to sources, the National Leader of the APC, Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu was also believed to have told some of those close to the president that whilst he and his loyalists in the South-west were ready to back Buhari’s re-election bid, the condition for their support would be different this time around. According to one source, the APC chieftain had told those who approached him on Buhari’s re-election bid that “let it be known that we supported him in 2015 based on trust. This time, around, we have to negotiate proper agreement”. Although it is almost a fait accompli that the president would run in next year’s election, sources in the APC are nonetheless very concerned that the contest will be much tougher due to the disappointment, mistrust and discontent with the administration by a large section of Nigerians. Accordingly, the Buharists have been reaching out to seek the understanding and cooperation of all that matter, as they forge ahead with Buhari’s re-election. In the meantime, Amaechi, the sources revealed, would hold a press briefing in the next few days to announce his appointment as well as unveil the agenda for the Buhari 2019 project |

Politics / Must Read: Youths; The Backbone Of A Nation - Isyaku Baba by ishaqwaaaqil(m): 8:04pm On Dec 18, 2017 |

Nigeria 's population is estimated at over 150 million people which the youth constitutes 80 percent of its population. Any country on earth mostly depends on its youths for it's successful portfolio. The youths are the frontline citizens of a territory, they are preferably refer to the spinal cord (backbone) of the country and they are those that can decide on the wellbeing and wrong-being of the country, the country's rise and fall depends on the strength of the youths. Nigeria youths are people of wonderful heritage and culture, Nigeria has produced handsome, beautiful, strong, healthy and charming vibrant youths with good home training and advocacy. Its a round over applause credit, but most and i mean 90% are totally deviating from that for monetary purchases, and that have given the wise leaders the ability to manipulate and preprogram the youths. it's isn't their overall fault persay because of the situation of the nation, Nigeria. Nigeria youths have been studied and understood by their leaders for their various vulnerability and that gave our leaders the magnificent power to rule over us as wanted. Nigeria youths are affected by: • Money drunkenness • Desperation • Insincerity The listed effects above have statistically caused harm to the youth race and therefore the effects are used as a tool against the youths. Money Drunkenness: The factor has caused serious problem in the society which has caused the downfall of the country. Nigerian youths have been handcuffed by the leaders in the sense that they have to come seek for their assistance even before taking their breakfast. In what essence? In this 21th century, money is so much needed in anything you are to do as a person, in the sense that you can't move a kilometer without including funds. The leaders understood that and therefore seized the youth's assess to wealth. In Nigeria currently we have over 31.22 billion dollars in our foreign reserve which when converted to our currency its over 10 trillions of naira, that aside. Each state in Nigeria has it's own exclusive yearly budget to sufficiently serve it's states, aside that, billions of naira were released to each state in Nigeria as their Paris Club Fund recoveries but still with all these; The masses pockets are empty. The state government workers salaries are very low and stagnant, most workers are still not paid for solemnly serving the state for over 7 months over their little expected salaries. The electricity is still as the same as it use to be for passed decades, very poorly instable. Lack of water on households even when we are surrounded by dams etc. All these are done to cripple and handcuff the masses to have total control of them. They know the youths weakness and therefore used it against them to have total say. Since the wealth is being hidden from the masses, the youths have to come kneeling down to get their audience in supporting each and everyone of them just to have suger in their cup of coffee. With this, they are being worshipped in return for money and not for love. Its a very sad thing that this is yet controllable. Children/Teenagers are not sent nowadays without expecting their own cuts, parents do not trust their kids anymore as they feel they are going to be cheated or hit by their offsprings, because it has caused mental and psychological illness in the society. This have given the forum for the leaders to have 100% percent control over the society entirely. Desperation: A lot, so much youths want to be billionaires overnight without working as return and these makes them venturers of mini-thefts, massive robbery threats, internet scams, kidnappings etc. They want to be wealthy so as to follow the footsteps of the leaders in having full control of the society. The leaders are aware of these but slumbers on it because they feel it's the best option to have full control over the masses. They raise their hands above with wealth to unreachable heights and wants the masses to keep jumping and aspiring on collecting the wealth when they already know its impossible, this brings about their false promises to the desperate youths and causes them to hooliganism and political touts. It is made to understand that even if you pill off the skin of a hungry poultry, he will still follow you tirelessly just to have the little grains you have at hand, that is the same ideology used to drive Nigeria youths. It's high time the youths face the reality and stop aspiring for impossibilities. Togetherness with truthfulness is only what will improve our states. The people you are looking up to also suffered to make it better for themselves and their existing families. Insincerity: Youths are worst on this particular topic, they value not relationships and have embraced cheat and deception as their livelihood which is known for the characters of the devil. A country or setup can never grow when insincerity is put forward, this also goes to the leaders who deceive their followers for their fake promises and unnecessary wickedness, we know you do that to get your powers and for your political interests but you need to understand that you must not do that to be in power, working for your people and believing in yourselves will be the only way to save yourself from bad Godfatherism, when you have the total support from your people via your good works and sincerity, you shall set your own empire and legacy with love and protection, you will have those that can voluntarily die on behalf of you. A Lots are losing their respective lives and talents out there just because of you, make it a trial by sincerely giving them what they want and see the end result. You shall overrule to your satisfaction and even beyond. Nigeria is my country, Nigeria is an extremely blessed nation unlike others which are blessed too and Nigeria deserves our full attention. Nigeria will be great if only we stand to make it great, I know we can do it, I know we can stand for ourselves because we are courageous, I know we can be good to each other as we are from one womb for cry-out-loud We have a lot of outstanding youths that are best for the jobs but all are been castaway all in the name of politics and power I have hundreds of my better-off but all have no privilege all in the name of an unjustified injustice. Nigeria can be the best when best formulas are applied, it could be the All-Mighty-Formula, it could be the Addition-Subtraction Formula, etc. haha funny, all can be applied just to ensure the success and development of this nation, Nigeria. So Arise O Compatriots. Written By: Isyaku Baba You Need Me? Contact Me: +234-(0)814-799-8289 READ MORE AT: isyakubaba..com.ng/2017/12/must-read-youths-backbone-of-nation.html |
Politics / Buhari’s Age-mates Advise Him On His Birthday by ishaqwaaaqil(m): 8:25am On Dec 17, 2017 |
Buhari hale and hearty to contest in 2019 The President should go for a second term because he is hale and hearty to do so. He has started a good job which is acknowledged within the country and globally. It is in order for him to go for a second term in office so that he can conclude the good job he started. Everybody knows that this man is not out to accumulate wealth but to put Nigeria in its appropriate place in the world. This man is out to see that Nigeria is great again. He has been doing everything within his power to achieve this. He realises that no country can be great with corruption. So, he is fighting it with zeal. He is also tackling insurgence and banditry. He knows that Nigeria needs infrastructural development and he is working on that. Look at the Mambilla power project that was abandoned, he has resuscitated it. There are other projects like that being embarked upon by his government, to ensure that Nigerian youths are not jobless again. So, I strongly support the call for his second term in office. At the end of his second term in 2023, he would have laid a very solid foundation for anyone that will succeed him. God, in his own wisdom, made President Muhammadu Buhari to eventually emerge Nigeria’s president. I believe President Buhari will succeed while his detractors will fail. With my experience in politics and with my age, I am saying this with all seriousness; I have not seen anybody among the present crop of politicians who has good intentions like President Buhari. Many of them have amassed wealth meant to take care of their people. In the current political class, President Buhari stands out. I will rather encourage him to go for a second term so that there will be sanity in our political system.—Buhari’s childhood friend, Senator Aba Alli, 75 Buhari looks good for a second term As a matter of fact, age has nothing or very little to do with performance. There are people who are more than 75 years old that can perform optimally if they are mentally alright. I almost lost confidence in Buhari coming back when he was ill and flown abroad for treatment. But he looks a different person since he came back. There are people who are less than 70 years old and cannot even express themselves in public, let alone perform the task of a leader. It is not all about one’s age; there are other factors and we need to consider that.—Deacon David Affe, 75 Buhari won’t be strong enough to lead Nigeria in 2019 President Muhammadu Buhari is trying his best to fight corruption, fix the economy and address the issue of insecurity in the country. But I don’t think he should contest again in 2019 because he would be 77 years old then. And at that age, he may not have the strength to lead the country. He has tried his best to deliver on his electoral promises, and as such, he should leave the leadership of the country for younger ones who have the capacity and the modern knowledge on how to make things happen. Buhari even admitted shortly after he was elected as the president that he wished he were younger so that he would have the strength to lead the nation. Many countries of the world are currently electing younger people into positions of leadership like what we have in France, where the country’s president is less than 40 years old. So, I will suggest that after the end of his first term in office, Buhari should go back home and rest.—Retired teacher, Mrs. Naomi George-Odon, 75 Nigerians will determine Buhari’s fate at the polls Read More At: isyakubaba..com/2017/12/buharis-age-mates-advise-him-on-his.html

In a congratulatory message he personally signed to mark the President’s Birthday anniversary, Dogara praised Buhari for his uncompromising stance and relentless commitment in introducing deft policies aimed at achieving full economic recovery and growth. He described the President as a visionary and prudent leader who carved a nicth for himself as military Head of State and has brought to bear his long standing pedigree as an incorruptible leader in the discharge of his duties as a civilian President and commander-in-chief of the armed forces. He said: “The numerous achievements of our APC led government which you pilot and your revolutionary zeal, courage and dynamism in leadership have earned you and indeed Nigeria, respect globally as well as inspired and rekindled the hope of Nigerians for better days ahead. “You have consistently demonstrated exceptional humility, uncommon integrity and dogged patriotism while piloting the affairs of the nation. “You have equally remained consistent in dealing with the hydra- headed problems of corruption, insecurity and unemployment through various reforms and interventions in line with your campaign promises. “Under your leadership, Nigeria is steadily regaining its past glory and winning investors’ confidence and earning global respect and recognition”. Politics / Unbearable Traffic Gridlock In Port Harcourt; A Creation Of Political Exhibition by ishaqwaaaqil(m): 6:53am On Dec 17, 2017 |
▫INCRA advises RVSG to show sincerity; demands a more humane approach to traffic Management. The Inter-ethnic Network for Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, INCRA, describes the increasing traffic situation along major roads in Port Harcourt, particularly the Port Harcourt/Aba express way as a creation of Governor Wike's political exhibitionism. Every keen observer would readily agree that the traffic condition on major roads in Port Harcourt has taken a downward slide in the last couple of months. This regrettable and avoidable situation has plunged road users and commuters into straits, sadly, government's actions and or inaction seem to be exacerbating the situation. As a concerned Pan-Rivers group that feels the pains and pulse of the generality of Rivers people, we are saddened by this situation which is clearly artificial and a creation of politics. The prevailing traffic gridlock in the State is not unrelated to the flurry of superficial road construction projects intended to beguile unsuspecting members of the public into believing the government is actually delivering on the dividends of democracy. The Governor's recent desperation to launder its image following growing factual concerns by a good number of citizens over government's recklessness and unlawful neglect of its duties of governance in preference for political gimmickries accounts for the make-believe emergency road repairs. Even a novice would easily notice that the repair works on most of these roads are too menial and shallow to generate the kind of traffic build-up they are currently generating on our roads. Heavy earthmoving equipment are used to block traffic access roads for weeks just to create the false impression that serious construction works are on-going. In some situations, these artful deception makes the government go as far as resurfacing roads that are in perfect conditions just because these areas are more populated and would gain higher notice at the expense of other roads that are in deplorable and unusable State. Undoubtedly, these vile artifice that has brought untold sufferings on road users is only intended to fox the public and gain traction for the Governor ahead of 2019. The Governor is obviously under pressure and is leaving no stone unturned in his bid to gain public validation. We advice the Governor to free up the roads and channel resources to meaningful projects that will add value to the State and the masses. INCRA, Ubima, Rivers State.
