Educational Services / 5 Best College Films by itskate: 6:31am On Aug 25, 2021
Your college life is known as the best years of your youth. You are in your prime and you spend some quality time getting to know yourself, push your boundaries. It is because students want to discover new things and make a career out of their majors that they consider a decent dissertation writing service. From late-night library study sessions to hanging out with friends to fraternity parties to tailgating for games or late-night movies to whatnot. Crazy old memories.

It's always enjoyable to take a journey down memory lane, especially around back-to-school season. Whether you're far gone from college life or barely graduated a few years ago. Get comfortable on the sofa and watch these college movies to reminisce about school life. Remember the fun times you had with your pals. Some of the movies on this list are funny classics and enjoyable sing-alongs. While others are scary thrillers or mind-bending tragedies. Yet, whether you're looking for a comedy or a drama, all of these films bring you one common element - nostalgia.

The Great Debaters
This movie is based on a true event. When Poet and Professor Melvin B. Tolson realizes how being ‘black’ means being cast off from everything, including literature and culture. With that, he plans to form a debate team of young pupils at a predominantly black college in Texas.

This action was quite unheard of at the time. All the more so, to fight against Harvard students. The narrative, which takes place in the Jim Crow South during the 1930s, is both uplifting and tragic. Thus, making it a must-see for all audiences, particularly in the awakening of movements like Black Lives Matter.

Good Will Hunting
It is pretty depressing when brilliance refuses to acknowledge itself. This is the most perplexing aspect in "Good Will Hunting," in the depiction of a clever, engaging narrative of a working-class youngster from Boston. It tells the narrative of a young man whose life is on the verge of self-destruction and the efforts of four individuals to bring him back.

Will Hunting (Matt Damon) possesses a genius-level IQ yet chooses to work as a janitor at MIT. When Professor Gerald Lambeau promises a prize to anyone who solves a tough graduate-level math problem. Hunting does so, yet in secrecy. However, Professor Lambeau (Stellan Skarsgard) notices this as well as his abilities. With that, he decides to help the misguided kid realize his full potential.

When Will is detained for assaulting a police officer, Professor Lambeau strikes a deal with the prosecution. That is, in exchange for Will receiving therapy from therapist Sean Maguire (Robin Williams). We recommend this one because it is a major tear-jerker and a memory machine of course.

Coffee In Berlin
This black-and-white German picture received limited distribution in the United States and went on to win a flurry of European accolades, including the German Film Award for Best Feature Film.

It depicts a day in the life of Niko, a guy in his twenties, who dropped out of law school. He ‘forgets’ to inform his father, and yet takes his father's money for a school that no longer exists. "A Coffee in Berlin" has some amusing things to say about the "younger generation" and its prolonged adolescence, its avoidance of dealing with real issues.

This movie shows how a dropout spends an eventful day roaming about Berlin, trying to make meaning of his existence. Niko, as he moves on from one ridiculous conversation to another, plainly floundering. However, he does not realize, all the while he is aimlessly roaming, that his purpose was with him all along. That it is up to him to build the life he desires. With themes similar to "Frances Ha," which was also shot in black-and-white. This movie is something you do not want to miss from your watch list.

Higher Learning
This movie is one of the best college classics you will ever come across. It shows how some freshmen at Columbus University, struggle to find themselves and adjust to their newfound independence.

Directed by John Singleton, this movie powerfully depicts the 1990’s college life. The movie ensembles the lives of the nerdy outcast Remy (Michael Rapaport), the college athlete Malik Williams (Omar Epps), and the insightful Kristen Connor (Kristy Swanson). When Remy finds acceptance among a gang of neo-Nazis, things escalate. Tensions in a school that is already split into racial, socioeconomic, and gender lines grow even higher.

When the movie was released in 1995, it was met with violence in the theatres during its first week, resulting in two deaths. The problems that the protagonists face on-screen are uncannily comparable to the real-life ones that plague college campuses today.

Mona Lisa Smile
In 1953, Katherine Watson (Julia Roberts) gets appointed as a teacher of art history at the famous all-girls Wellesley College. The fresh UCLA graduate and a nonconformist, Katherine finds herself opposite to societal and institutional concepts that define women into singular, passive roles.

Determined to fight society's double standards and the system that supports them. She spurs her conventional pupils, notably Betty (Kirsten Dunst) and Joan (Julia Stiles), to question the lifestyles they are supposed to live. She leads them to understand what they truly want as a woman, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and passions. This movie is another classic that may remind you of some great teachers. Particularly the ones who helped you out when you were struggling with studies or life at college itself.

Conclusion
With that, we wrap up our list. If you have just graduated or are in your first or even in your final year. Hopefully, these movies will make your college life truly memorable. Even more so, they might help enable you to cope with issues you might currently be dealing with. So, while you are looking for a good cheap assignment writing service. We reckon it is about time you start learning about life beyond your college gates. What better way to do so than getting inspired while eating some popcorn, huh?
