@RDV, Am cool. I had a very luvly weekend. But my weekdays are usually bored. Nothing to do,am not working presently and all my friends go to wrk, i dnt get to see them until weekend. I really dnt like it, but i dnt have a chioce now. Maybe when i get the books, i would occupy myself with reading. Least i forget, hope your enjoyed your trip? I am going for a professional commercial pilot course (Private Pilot, Instrument Pilot, Commercial Single and Multi-Engine Instrument). Though they have an advance course(The course includes Multi-Engine Instrument, Certified Flight Instructor and Certified Flight Instructor Instrument Certification. The initial instructor is Multi-Engine Instructor, followed by Certified Flight Instructor Single Engine Airplane and Certified Flight Instructor Instrument Airplane). I could change my course if it means doing that, They dnt gaurantee employment, they said one's performance would tell if they would employ you or not,but they do assit their graduate get jobs after training. I intend going for just my training. They are to issue an M-1 visa, is it OK? The P/CPL is for six months, while the Advance is 2 months. what do you think? Do i need to do all advance courses, if not which do i choose? How far with jobs out there, good chances for my likes? I would love to go international,How's that? when/where do i do type rating? Yea, thanks a '000000. I dnt mind the edition, all i need is somthing to read so i can get an insight of what i will meet during my training. As for the school, they have their books, infact, my fees include books, marterails and charts required for the training. Woo! 10yrs/7000hrs, hmm, I respect oh. My name is Ajiri. Am more than great, ful. Am looking forward to the books. Hope i dint bore you with too many quest? Luvly week. Chao. @PILOT955, Thankz mentor, I will do just that. How far with your course? u don finish abi u still dey dere? Hp u dnt mind my langua, I grew up in warri. Cheers. |

@RDV I guess you must have read some of my post. ofcourse, am desperately wanting to have my office up there like you too. Please can you tell me what ratings qualify a pilot to fly internationally. Apart from PPL,instrument, multi engine and CPL, what other ratings can i do to boast my qualification as a pilot? I will be training with us filght academy, big-spring, texas and i am expected to finish my training with a total of 350 flying hrs, how about that? Please, if you don't mind tell me all i need to know to make my training easy for me. I really don't know much, am just leaning and i would appreciate if you will be my mentor. Thankz dear. I understand pretty well. Nice time on ur training. Sincerely,am not into it 4 the pay. I have always loved flying and wanted to be in charge, hence i choose been pilot as a career. Ofcourse, the pay aint worth the risk. I watch aircrash investigations on nageo channel, you know what am talking about. If it were just for the pay, that would scare me to death. Rather, i get encourage that i can mek it cos i see caps/pilots doing it.I also learn from their mistakes. Am really going to be proud, a lot of our folks thinks females are not capable. @PILOT955, Thanks for the info. I believe with my determination,i will mek it. Am from Isoko too. Where are you based? As for the fees for pilot training in nigeria, from what they have on their website, Professional commercial pilot is 7m and is 4 18months. Thereafter, you will complete the last 3 months outside the country. I read an artiocle on thisday newspaper some months ago, the article says, presently, they have no stimulator which in turn does not enable their student complete their training in the school. @house, anyone with an idea of how much nigerian airlines pay their pilots. I heared from a source(not too reliable),that they earn up to 800k per month, though i dont know if it is the pilot or co ,or captain. can any body confirm this? |
Career / Re: How To Become A Pilot? by IVY4U(f): 10:45pm On Apr 16, 2008 |
@masterme, IT WAS NOT EASY MY DEAR. Infact, am still on my way there o. I started with applying to schools in the united state. us flight academy(USFA)and delta connection academy(DCA) replied me to say i am welcome to train in their school. But the fees for DCA was way too much for me who does not even have 100k. USFA was encouraging. When i toid them i had no enough money to pay my fees, the administrator sent me a male asking how much i can pay, and that they would see what they can do on their part. They even went ahead to give me some site which award scholarships to female, but none was for an amerture like me. To cut a long story short, they sha was encouraging me and they became my good friends. As for the sponsorship, . it is all God's favour, 4rm d start to this very moment and am still expecting plenty more favour in Jesus name.To start with i got a scholarship 4rm DESOPADEC(an oil development commission in my state,Delta) it is like NDDC. My dear i know nobody. I just walked into the secetary's office to tell him i needed financial assitance to train as a pilot in the us. U know what he said, quote " i dnt know you and i dnt know where u came 4rm, but i ll use the commission to assit you". He told me how to address the later and were to submit it ,and indicated that it should be treated with urgency. The rest is history. Right now all am waiting for is my fund of 4m covering my tuition fee, accomodation and living expenses,to be sent to USFA so i can start my training. Isn't God Great? Pls join me in giving God thanks. @PILOT955, thanks for the info. please whats the average pay of pilots flying with nigerian airlines? I really would like to know, so i would know if i shuld come back or look for a better alternative in the us. Or what do you think? You know you are experience and know better than i do. I would really apprciate your response. Cheers. |

Hi, Am a female and want to become a pilot. If u are intrested to train in nigeria, it is 7m to train as a professional commercial pilot for 18months. But i tell u, it is cheaper and faster to train outside nigeria, say us,canada, south africa. Am working on my training in the us with us flight academy for 6months,$27,805 as tuition fee. I have gotten a sponsor and admission which was less stressful. I hope to start soon pending when my sponsors release the fund. My dear you can see the diff is so clear.I would advice if you have ur money, try flight schools in us. It will save you from all the shakara dey do here in nigeria. If you no get sopnsor for nija, dey most likely wont take you. Abi u be senator or minister pikin? U can use google to search for their web to get info, nigeria college of avaition. meet u as one of the crews. Chao. 1 Like |

I really dont have an idea of what they pay, but i had an interview with them last week. they would ask u to tell them about urself ; u are expected to tell them all about urself including ur family background, how many are u in ur family, what ur parents and ur siblings do, try to make it look attractive alittle. You have to know almost all about the bank,d MD, Chairman etc, the latest news about them, etc. U will be ask to tell them about ur field of study, how it would be relevant in the bank. where u can fit in if u get d job; simply say anywhere-is an expo. All i could remember, not much left and i think u can handle dat. Must of the quest would determine if u are experienced or not. try as much as u can to be composed, not too serious, but not equally relax. I was given these expo after my interview. hope u find this useful. best of luck dearie. |
