I am not watching and following this programme but why do I have a feeling (from all I have been reading about it) that Beverly will win and when she brings home the dollars, her beau Angelo will fly down to Nigeria and both of them will be swagging around and pasmagaring for us as the newest celebrities in town. grin
I want Beverly to win and the fact that she hasn't been nominated at all for eviction may help her in after all.

So how many participants are left in the house now? Oh I can find that out from their website but I can't be bothered with that right now. huh kiss

Krak: Think about Big Brother watching our every move.

I remember George Orwell 1984.

You understand?
I was surprised over the recent uproar over the NSA spying on people, is it that people do not know that emails and stuff are not all that private. I have always known that such stuffs are not for your eyes alone even if they are in an inbox you alone have the password to.

This write-up below will not only amaze you but will have you being careful when purchasing gadgets----some of them actually have spying devices that many are not aware of. In other words there is a possibility of others watching you/spying on you while you are innocently watching your television. Time to be careful by examining appliances and their capabilities before buying them.

9 Household Items That Could Be Spying on You

For people concerned about their privacy, the NSA data grabs are daunting, but what about the data grabs happening inside your own home, perpetrated not by the government, but by your coffee machine?

Consider every appliance and every piece of home electronics that you own. Does it gather data about how you use it? Does it connect to the Internet? If so, it could be used to spy on you. Your mobile devices, your TV, and now various other types of home appliances can be wired into a network that can track you. If those networks are hacked, information about your habits and behaviors could be available to people with nefarious goals. The same technological innovation that empowers us also makes us vulnerable to those who would exploit such advances against us.

Here are nine appliances and other systems inside your house that may be spying on you right now, or used to spy on you in the future.

1. Your Television

Ever wonder how your TV remembers what shows you’ve watched, which ones you plan to watch, and how long you watched last episode of “Homeland” before falling into nightmare-ridden sleep?

It does it all by connecting to the Internet. Therein lies its weakness. Computer Security firm ReVuln proved last year that it could hack Samsung’s newest televisions, accessing users’ settings, installing malware on the TVs and any connected devices, and harvesting all the personal data stored on the machine. They could even switch on the camera embedded in the TV and watch viewers watching the set.

Samsung says it patched the security flaw. That said, who’s to say that Samsung is the only brand to have experienced a security issue?

. Your Cable Box

Companies including Google and Verizon are reportedly developing cable boxes with built-in video cameras and motion sensors. The idea is that if the camera detects two people canoodling on the couch, they might be delivered ads for a new romantic movie, while a roomful of children would see ads for an Air Hogs remote control helicopter.

If that freaks you out, think what government intelligence agencies or hackers could do with such a device.

3. Your Dishwasher, Clothes Dryer, Toaster, Clock Radio and Remote Control

This may sound fantastical, but no less an expert on spying than former CIA Director David Petraeus believes that even mundane appliances like your dishwasher could soon be used to gather intelligence about you. Appliances including dishwashers, coffee makers and clothes dryers all now connect to the Internet. This helps the manufacturers troubleshoot performance and improve energy efficiency, and it gives owners the chance to order a fresh cup of coffee or a dry bin of clothes from their phone, computer or tablet.

Knowing when you make your coffee sounds innocuous enough, but that little piece of data could help snoopers geo-locate you, and learn your habits and schedule for all manner of malfeasance. Petraeus told a group of investors last year that such technology will be “transformational” for spies –could “change our notions of secrecy.” I think it could help criminals, too.

4. Your Lights

The same technology that enables monitoring of your home appliances also could allow would-be spies to monitor your lights. In addition to tracking your schedule, taking control of your home lighting system could help robbers invade your home by turning off the lights and keeping them off during an invasion.

5. Your Heat and A/C

The Nest thermostat tracks homeowners’ heat and air-conditioning habits, learns their preferences, and over time tweaks their HVAC systems to reach the desired results with the least electricity. Users also can change the settings via the Internet when they’re away from home.

Hackers already have started taking apart the Nest thermostat to customize it. Thieves and snoopers could do the same.

6. Security Alarms

For years, home security systems were hardwired to a service provider’s operations center. Now they are wirelessly connected to many users’ phones and tablets. This allows us to keep tabs on our homes at all times, from all places. But what’s the point of having a security system if robbers can hack it?

7. Insulin Pumps and Pacemakers

Forget about hacking your house. What about hacking your body? In 2012, White Hat hacker Barnaby Jack proved he could kill a diabetic person from 300 feet away by ordering an insulin pump to deliver fatal doses of insulin. This summer he announced he could hack pacemakers and implanted defibrillators.

“These are computers that are just as exploitable as your PC or Mac, but they’re not looked at as often,” Jack told Bloomberg. “When you actually look at these devices, the security vulnerabilities are quite shocking.”

8. Smartphones

Think of every spy gadget dreamt up by Q in James Bond films. Microphone, still and video camera, geo-locating device, and computer software that can steal your personal passwords, hack your bank accounts, hijack your email and take control of other devices.

Your smartphone has all these things. In addition, the U.S. military disclosed last year it created an app called PlaceRaider that uses a phone’s camera, geo-location data and its accelerometer to create a 3D map of the phone’s surroundings.

9. Your Tablet and Computer

Most tablets and computers have all the same tools as smartphones and some have even more. If your phone can spy on you, they can too. Even more so than our smartphones, we unwittingly stuff them with every imaginable tidbit of sensitive personal information from lists of passwords, to tax and financial information, to geo-tagged photographs, to the innermost secrets that we exchange with our friends.

Our privacy is threatened. Every day our most precious asset (our identity) is put at risk by us and those who wish to track our every movement, word, thought and search. We need a national conversation – where everyone participates – about just how widespread such monitoring has become. General Petraeus is dead on. Such devices could and inevitably will change our notions of secrecy. Let’s not simply opt for progress without proper safeguards.

Family / Re: Nagging And Non Caring Wife by Ivynwa(f): 3:48am On Aug 18, 2013
----:
Oga o. Some women can be so silly and heartless. Those family she is spending on,when issues arise you see them removing themselves one after the other. Op hope you have gotten another job? If yes please find a means of getting her out of that shop, lock it up and let her have access to getting in there, what rubbish If the means of getting money to spend is being cut she will regain her senses. Or simply covert the shop to another avenue of raising money for yourself and your kids.

A woman that doesn't take her hubby and kids as her number one priority is not a wife. Shebi na the boutique and the money from it that's making her feel like a champion. Cut her wings and let's see her fly.

I can't believe that I heard women asking for the lady's shop to be locked up---what is that "Cut her wings and let's see her fly?" Did I really see that here? We are only hearing a side of the story which may shift if we hear from the wife herself.
I hope the woman in question isn't really doing all that. Asking for her wing to be cut etc? Please a woman in marriage is not in prison or in a slave/master relationship in which she should be subdued and tamed at certain times. She is a human being biko. I don't like it when marriage is made to sound like a prison or something with statements like these and women having this kind of notion isn't the best, a woman married to a man has got dignity please and not a worthless human being whose wing can be cut.

@Poster
It sounds unbelievable that a mother can not want to share or give for the good of her kids. If what you wrote are real then let such persons like your marriage sponsors(if they are mature minded enough to advice her good), your priest or a good minded/mature close relative of yours arbitrate. She may have grown with the notion that only a man provides for the family and if she hears otherwise from other adults she will be enlightened of course.

And that was how a mother lost her daughter because people are rioting over the head of one politician.
It's sad.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Egyptian Protesters Push An Armoured Police Van Off A Bridge, by Ivynwa(f): 4:27am On Aug 16, 2013
Nobody pushed it indeed but the threats by the protesters must have shaken up the driver into toppling from that bridge.
Don't I just hate it when people kill one another over one fr*aking politician? Their fellow human that merely wants to get into power. They are counting hundreds of perished persons and blood flowing all over their land right now over the head of one person? High time people became wiser. This person is alive and if you help him, tomorrow he will get into power and be ravishing your money while you got foolish enough to kill your relatives and citizens because of him. They should stop the killing please.

Somebody should tell these actors and actresses to remove that picture (of the three of them with the Dayo lady corking up and Desmond Elliot backing it up) from the public domain. It is ridiculous and not nice to look at. Didn't the wives of these actors see that picture? and couldn't tell their husbands that that picture isn't nice to look at at all.

It is an awkward pose that turned ridiculous and with Desmond Elliot posing as if he is giving it to the lady---He-he-he!
When I saw that picture on Linda's blog, I raised an eyebrow and knew immediately that it is going to be criticized yet it doesn't seem to be getting the kind of criticisms I expected. Am I the only one that considers that picture ridiculous? If Desmond Elliot is my husband, I won't like to see him posing up and backing up a corked up lady like that in a picture or were they merely being funny? No there is no humour there, it's just an awkward posing gone ridiculous methinks.

Your other thread showed that you are helping this individual with his paper abroad and that that may be why he is very clingy and threatening death whenever you want to leave. I feel sorry for him and wish there is another way he can help himself with his paper issues, you don't stay in a relationship you don't want to be in, a relationship that seems unhealthy for you just because you are helping somebody with his papers. You can help him brainstorm on finding alternative ways to regularize his papers and not put your life on hold for him if you truly want to get on as you narrated in the other thread.

All I am saying is that you look around in the relationship, if he is a good person and healthy to be with you should know. In that case you can work on whatever little problems you may be having with him as you narrated in the other thread where you said that he is giving attitudes. If he isn't a good person and has such unhealthy lifestyle as doing juju you should know too and you don't need to be told that that isn't healthy for you. We can't find these things out for your nor make the right decision for you.

Young woman, all these dreams and stuffs you are having here are mere figments of the fear you have in this relationship manifesting in your dreams when your mind and body are relaxed/while you are in a sleeping state. You are scared, very scared here and you need to check on the causes of your fear. You mentioned that he does juju things, if you are truly sure that he meddles with that then i will not advise a woman to hang around with an ignorant man who believes in juju things because one day your fingers, g*enital parts and head may be used to cook the juju soups.

You also mentioned visiting a prophetess who was divining for you and telling you things about him. Don't be believeing in most of these fake pastors and prophets out there. They are humans like you, they can't see into the future and know nothing about your life, all they are telling you are lies. Their aims are mostly to make money from people so run from them. You have plenty negative thoughts in the relationship like your believing that he is affecting your success, make away with those thinking. Think positively. You need to address the juju part seriously, make sure that the things you saw are really dirty things he is using for juju and RUN FOR YOUR LIFE if they are.

This looks so funny that I laughed and laughed. The Doggie has a doggie cup and his cup seems bigger than that of his master like he eats bigger ration than he does.
Why is a man unable to care for himself saddling himself with animals to care for too?
