Newcastle United are set to offer midfield star Ben Arfa a new four year deal worth £80,000 a week, that's currently double his wage according to reports.
The 26 year old has been strongly linked with a move away from Newcastle, with a move to Liverpool strongly linked and many other European clubs appear interested for the French international's signature.
Newcastle are keen on trying to keep the former Marseille player at the club as a move away would seem likely in the January transfer window. Newcastle are ready to offer double Ben Arfa's current wage to keep him at St James' Park.
The new contract offer was reportedly offered to Ben Arfa's agent on Monday, it is reported that a bonus package on top of his doubled wage. =Ben Arfa joined Newcastle United on loan from Marseille in 2010 and finally made the move permanent in 2011. Daniel Sturridge says that he is more worried about performing for club over country
Liverpool and England striker Daniel Sturridge has stated that he is more worried about performing for his club rather than performing for his country.
Sturridge was forced to sit out of England's World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine with a thigh injury. Sturridge has said that challenging for trophies with Liverpool is his main priority, he added that “it’s not about playing for England."
The forward said, “I’m more worried about Liverpool and more worried about putting in good performances for us, us winning games and challenging for trophies."
“That’s my main ambition – it’s not about playing for England."
“That comes with doing the things you do for your club and if I don’t play well here, I won’t get the opportunity to do it there (at the World Cup).”
Brendan Rodgers, Sturridge's Liverpool manager, has backed Sturridge to continue his fine form which has seen him score an impressive three times in as many league games, he also believes that the striker can become one of the best players in the country.
Sturridge added on Rodgers’ comments, “It was good to hear. It’s always good to hear positive things from your manager, especially."

Vincent Enyeama and Emmanuel Emenike were the standout performers as African champions, Nigeria conducted their first full training session on Thursday evening ahead of Saturday’s 2014 Fifa world cup qualifier against Malawi.
The session which lasted just under two hours at the UJ Esuene stadium, Calabar kicked off at 3:50pm.
The goalkeepers were made to work away from the rest of the squad as goalkeeping coach, Ike Shorunmu drilled the trio of Enyeama, Austin Ejide and Chigozie Agbim.
The twenty outfield players were then divided into ten groups of two players each. Short and long passing skills were perfected in the exercise.
After that session which lasted thirty minutes, the players cooled off with a ten-minute water break before commencing the next round of training.
Head coach, Stephen Keshi then divided the players into two teams of ten players each.
“Team A” comprised of Godfrey Oboabona, Ahmed Musa, Emmanuel Emenike, Efe Ambrose, Elderson Echiejile, Victor Moses, John Mikel Obi, Nnamdi Oduamadi, Azubuike Egwuekwe and Sunday Mba.
James Okwuosa led “Team B’ which also included players like Benjamin Francis, Solomon Kwambe, Ogenyi Onazi, John Ogu, Nosa Igiebor, Brown Ideye, Shola Ameobi, Uche Nwofor, Obinna Nsofor.
The session was aimed at testing the players’ ability to control the ball in tight spaces and improve accuracy with a small target.

Uefa president Michel Platini said on Friday.

Ghana’s Kevin-Prince Boateng has been sold to Schalke for 12 million euros from Serie A giants AC Milan.
The Bundesliga's Royal Blues announced the deal for the midfielder on Friday, only days after he scored two important goals for Milan to help them qualify for the group stages of the Champions League.
The 26-year-old has been at Milan since 2010 with whom he won the Italian championship in his first season. In 74 league games in the Serie A, Boateng scored ten goals.
Schalke chairman Clemens Toennies confirmed the three-year deal.
"Everything is clear between us and we are delighted that this transfer has been completed. He is exactly what we needed," Toennies told Sport Bild. Sport Bild reported that Boateng had already passed a medical and would move for a fee of 12 million euros (£10.2m). Though his deal runs for three years, it carries an option for a fourth season.
Previously, the Berlin-born player featured for Tottenham Hotspur, Portsmouth, Dortmund and Hertha Berlin.

So why has he been sold by Milan, where he seemed to be having a good time? The simple answer is that he had become too expensive for the Italians to keep on their books.

Three players from a club in Malawi killed in car crash
Three players from a Super League of Malawi side have died in a car crash, that also left three of their team-mates seriously injured in hospital.
The trio played for Malawi Defence Force (Mafco) and were on their way home after being punished by the team for indiscipline during a trip for a cup match.
The tragedy came just 24 hours after Mafco had lost on penalties to another army side, Moyale Barracks, in the Carlsberg Cup.
Defenders Chifuniro Phiri, Gift Mphonde and Sadan Mangwere all died on the spot while Gift Soko, Cyrus Phiri and Jimmy Nzunga all suffered serious injuries and taken to hospital.
The club's chairman Chitumbo Chirambo said the six players were ordered to leave the team's training camp, where the were preparing for the weekend's league fixtures, for a late night drinking spree.
The players were all returning to their base to answer disciplinary charges.
They were given money to board a bus but instead chose to travel in a track which later got involved in the fatal accident, Chirambo explained.
"We are currently working on burial arrangements with tomorrow (Saturday) being the set date. We are taking the remains to their respective homes.
In a statement Football Association of Malawi and Super League of Malawi said they are deeply saddened with the players' deaths.
The super league's governing body has also postponed Mafco's match this weekend."
