Family / Re: Why I 'banned' My Wife From Early Morning Radio Prayer. by J3da: 12:15pm On Jul 31, 2023
Aladeintl:

There was this popular MoG from Ibadan who do early morning prayer on Ajilete FM that I adamantly forbid my wife from listening to.

I told her, 'I am not saying you shouldn't listen to him but not under my own roof.'

I didn't banned her because the man was fake. I didn't think the MoG is fake, but I find some of his modus operandi unbiblical.

Likewise, some songs like Daddy wey dey pamper is not fit my own family. While I am around, she mustn't.

I will soon delete that song from her phone sef.

Read tales of a Nursing Dad here www.joelalade.home.blog

I once collected her purse and gave her only transport fare when she was going for a crusade organized by one prophet olororo.

What is my drift? I have no qualm with Pastor Jerry Eze and his YouTube early morning prayer ministry but it is a disgrace and dishonour to you, the man of the house, if your woman can wake up to listen to other man before you.

It's a disgrace to my fatherhood if my kids are doing morning devotion via internet led by another man and wife and kids aren't to be blamed.

Therefore, we men, should truly man up and be the leader God made us.

The likes of Pastor Jerry Eze and co come into equation because many men are not spiritual leader. He is filling the gaps created by spiritually-absent fathers.

Your wife jumping from one prayer mountain to another is because you haven't ascertain your spiritual headship in the head.

And for those joining Pastor Jerry from their boyfriend's room, just dey play ooo, dey play ooo.

May God helps us to discharge our duties accordingly.

Ire oooooooo

Firstly, you sound like someone who controls his wife and that is very disrespectful (I pity that woman)! Secondly, why don't you start the morning devotion seeing your wife is passionate about prayer, and there are better ways to communicate your concerns to her, rather than this master-slave mentality you seem to have.

Finally, if you continue like this, that woman will resent you and I pity you when this becomes the case, you go find God to help you later!

Nairaland / General / Re: The Various Crews Of Nairaland by J3da: 1:22pm On Apr 14, 2022
Grare:
Hello.....Great NLanders.

I have been able to observe for a while the various CREWS of Nairaland and I want to use this opportunity to expecially enlighten those who have no idea about the existing CREWS.... grin

So, let's go! All CREW members, come and represent your CREW grin

(1) The Religion Crew: These ones don't joke. They always look for every opportunity to spread their beliefs rigorously.

(2) The Memes Crew: These ones can boast of a truck load of memes in their possession. They always have memes for various occasions. Don't try them, because they can release a striking meme for you at any point in time.

(3) The Observers: These people don't often drop comments, unless they feel the need and necessity to do so. They remain anonymous most times and observe things from the background. They read comments, check what's up and move.

(4) The Talkatives: Also known as the attention seekers. They are always on every thread. They can even fight just to ensure that they talk and get noticed.

(5) The Disguise Crew: You see them having monikers of the opposite sex. But by their ways, you shall know them

(6) The Troll: I fear who don't fear these people. They can drag u everywhere, go way back to your ancestors to dig you up even when you are not around, they still trace you down your generation and follow you like village people.

(7) The Questinaires: I hail thee! They can ask questions for Africa. They can't do simple research. They always have a bucket full of questions to ask, even when the answers are obvious.

[8] The IDGAF Crew: These ones are somehow funny. Once they drop their bombshell, they just wouldn't give a f*ck. Even though they actually have a full pocket of f*cks and you need some, you know what they would tell you?
I DON'T GIVE A F*CK!!!
And after that, if you like quote them, or insult them from now till eternity, they will never reply you.

(9) The Begging Crew: They don't hide it. They will act as if begging has been entwisted in their DNA. angry Some even have different begging monikers. They try to convince people about their plight so as to get help. No problem. In case you like to render assistance to them, you might want to verify their claims and ensure that they are actually genuine.

(10) The BMC Crew: These people always sing praises and worship the government. They still find ways to praise them, even when they have obviously failed.

(11) The Feminist: These one will do anything to glorify and support females, but will shy away from correcting them when they are clearly wrong. If you want to know them, it's not difficult at all. Just criticize female, be it positive or negative. You will see them all out with their dragnets.

(12) The Redpillers: You already know. Also known as the alpha males. Only the name alone can make the ladies to start fidgeting. They have swallowed the red pill to fortify themselves against all kinds of women manipulations. In short, in their dictionary, they should always 'dominate' and 'be in control' and not the other way round.

(13) The Super Story Crew: These ones can create fake stories and try to make them look and sound genuine. They derive joy in spreading rumours. Most of them hide under the pretext of bloggers.

(14) The Derailers:
These ones are so annoying. They can derail a useful thread or topic to make it become non-beneficial at the end. They have no meaningful contribution as they are only interested in trivialities.

(15) The Sadists: Also known as the joy killers or trouble makers. Don't be surprised if someone attacks you for no just cause. The sadists are always on ground to bring you down to their level, create trouble from nowhere and ensure that they squeeze out every element of joy in you.

(16) The Scam Crew: Also known as the sweet mouthers. These people look for all avenues to scam others. Some of them have a library full of books on how you can make billions of dollars under 30 minutes, when they haven't made one Naira. If you fall into their snares, it's goodbye to your money.

(17) The Tribalist Crew: This crew members can be annoying and irritating most times. They can turn any topic into a tribal war front. They speak viles and even go to the extent of creating new monikers just to vent their frustrations and speak ills of other tribes. In fact, in their dictionary, there is nothing like coexistence.

(18) The Moderation Crew: Also known as the 'Mods'. They are the backbone of Nairaland. They determine which topic moves to the front page and if you are not careful, they can dish you 700 years ban. Sometimes you wonder that a topic which isn't supposed to get to the front page is already there in a twinkle of an eye. It's simply because the poster already knew what the mod likes to push the topic there. For example, just give a particular mod a piece of snake...and your to topic will graze the front page...lol.

(19) The DM Crew: Some people call them 'SIMPS'. You will find them mostly in the romance section, always inside people's DM. They can equally be spotted simply from the way they interact. They always try hard to make themselves lovable. They can do anything to appeal to the opposite sex. Well, just don't throw out your self respect/worth or bug down people.

(20) The English Checkers: This crew members are very swift in checking every post for any grammatical errors. They have already checked this write up and have penned down all errors...haha!!!

Now, which of the CREWS do you belong to?

I am basically one of 'The Observers' grin

Mind you, you can belong to one or more CREWS simultaneously wink

As an observer, let me observe and pass

A colleague took me and a few other colleagues on a Christmas Eve outing in the popular Abakaliki Street in Awka. I was pressured by them to place an order, which I normally don't do. I'm not just a teetotaler but also an introvert.
So requested for their menu catalog, as I was perusing through, I came across nonsense and ingredient as what they also offer.

I was stunned at the sight. I jokingly called the attention of the host colleague to see what I saw. He boldly looked into my face and asked me to place the order if that's what I want. I was kinda disappointed. I've sworn never to go out with him anymore.

He was busy spraying cash on other of my female colleagues, which I don't understand the meaning. Perhaps due to the Yahoo boys sitting behind us who initiated the money spinning game.

I never knew that the moral fabric of our society has been eaten up this bad. It was at the point of picking a can of malt that I noticed that all the waiters and waitresses there are prostitutes who do the wet pussying and mouth actions that contain in their menu cheat... Even the shawarma I took home from there I never felt myself enjoying.

Be schooled!!! Your mind is dirty, if you weren't sure why didn't you ask questions or just order one shot before coming here to disgrace yourself....

Health / Re: Is There A Way To Treat An Impacted Tooth Without Removal? by J3da: 10:08pm On Apr 26, 2020
alwayssparkling:
hello nairaland doctors i need help here. pls overlook any typo error.

i am over the age where the 4 widom teeth (the molars) of an adult normally grows.

the thing is while the two molars at the top jaw grew without any problem, the other bottom two refused to grow out. i really didnt notice until two year ago when i started having gum aches from both sides of my bottom jaw. at first the pain was mild but it came back two weeks later and this time it was more severe. this made me count my teeth and i discovered i only had 30 teeth instead of 32.

i didnt take it seriously but the aches continued forcing me to see a dentist.
after a minute checkup the doctor told me i had a condition known as an impacted tooth. according to him, my bottom jaw was smaller than my teeth set and that made it impossible for my molars to grow out. he said the pain i felt was due to the two molars trying to push against the obstruction of the jaw.

i asked for a soln and he told me that the only way pluck out the molars. i didnt have a problem with that until i asked for the price.

he told me that the removal of both teeth would cost 15k each. i shouted and he shouted back. i left the office angrily but not before he told me that by the time i get to 26 i will be the one begging for the procedure.

the truth is since the time i did that checkup the gum aches have been coming up periodically. i have been fighting it with warm water and salt but the pain normally comes back after a couple of weeks with each emergence more severe than the last.

so i really want to know if there is another alternative to deal with the ache without parting with my 30k.

i recently noticed with the help of a mirror that there have been little signs of the molars showing up, though majority of the whole is still buried under the jaw.

For someone who has had 3 surgeries, I will tell you to go have it removed immediately, because when it gets too serious it would cost you ,more or even lead to more complications. I had similar issue few years back went to UPTH and they gave me price I said it was too much until it got very serious, from N10,000, I ended up paying N40,000 for the first surgery.

But please make sure the dentist knows what he is doing o. All the best

Religion / Re: I Masturbated While Fasting, does It Have Any Effect On My Fast? by J3da: 12:12pm On Jan 14, 2017
Human sexuality can be one of the most beautiful aspects of God's plan for His children here on earth. But since Adam and Eve's fall from grace, human sexual practices have drifted from God's purposes.
In fact, if we are not careful to look to our Heavenly Father and follow His teaching in this area, we live a life which makes us slaves to sin and fails to bring glory to our Lord.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE
If you are struggling with sexual sin, you are not alone. Even King David -- a man after God's own heart -- wrestled with sexual sin. When he saw a beautiful woman named Bathsheba, he was overcome by his own lust. He then went to great lengths to hide his sin. But thanks to a faithful friend and a forgiving God, David found his way home (2 Samuel 11:12 ). And so can you.
FREEDOM IN THE TRUTH
Too often, we step onto the wrong path in our sexuality because we fail to act upon God's truth. Jesus, in one passage of the Bible, examines the freedom found in truth, and the enslaving power of lies. In that passage, the Lord puts it plainly: the truth sets us free. We either respond to the truth or to Satan's lies (John 8:31-47 ).
Recognizing the truth about sex can be an important first step to achieving victory over sexual sins. First, God wants His children to enjoy the beauty of appropriate sexual relationships. The King of the universe has much to say in His Word about the joys to be found in a marriage where both husband and wife know and love Christ (Gen. 2:24-25 ;
Prov. 5:19 ; Song of Solomon).
However, the devil, the accuser of our souls, constantly tries to wreck God's plans. He lies to us, tempting us to believe that we can grab hold of sexual pleasures apart from a marriage commitment. He uses day-to-day pressures and our own sinful nature to accomplish his purposes.
And what begins as merely a "wandering thought" can quickly tempt us to act sinfully (James 1:14-15 ). These sins can involve pornography, fornication, adultery, prostitution, homosexuality, and other ungodly sexual practices.
No matter what sins overcome us, we must recognize that lust is at the root of our sin (1 John 2:16 ; Gal. 5:16-20 ). Lust blinds us and leads us deeper into sexual sin (1 Tim. 4:1-2; Rom. 1:21-27 ;
Eph. 4:17-19 ). Each sin results in the same end (Rom. 6:23 ) and can carry deadly consequences of disease, and worse:spiritual death.
BREAKING THE CHAINS
To break the bonds of sexual sins, you must repent. That means a total change of direction, away from the sins and temptations, and toward the forgiving grace of a loving God. If you have allowed lust to control your life, yield to God as the Holy Spirit convicts you of your sin. God will forgive and cleanse you physically, emotionally and spiritually, if you humbly come to Him (1 John 1:8,9 ;
Psalm 103:12 ; Romans 6:23 ).
If you do not know that Jesus is your Savior, turn your life over to Him. Simply pray this prayer: "Jesus, I know You died for me. Thank You for saving me from my sins. I ask You to be Lord and Savior of my life."
Once you know Jesus as Savior take comfort in knowing that He identifies with your struggles and He desires to set you free (Heb. 4:14-16 ). He will enable you to gain the victory.
FIGHTING THE DAILY BATTLE
To overcome the temptations you will continually face, follow God's simple plan:
Stand firm against temptation (James 4:7 ; 1 Pet. 5:6-9; 2 Tim. 2:22).
Confess your sins to a brother or sister in Christ and pray to be healed (James 5:16
).
Hide God's Word in your heart (Psalm 119:11 ), trusting in its strength (Heb. 4:12 ).
Minister to God with sacrifices of praise (Heb. 13:15 ) until you are filled with the peace and joy of the Lord ( Isaiah 26:3 ).
Most of all, the change must come from within (see Prov. 23:7 ). Fill your mind with God's thoughts, not worldly thoughts. And remember, the Bible says that God can be trusted not to let you be tempted too much, and He will show you how to escape from your temptations (1 Cor. 10:13).
Finally, become part of an active Spirit-filled church. Study the Bible daily. Pray constantly and befriend other like-minded Christians. If you continue to give into temptations, you may need the help of a minister, counselor and/or other prayer partners.
AS YOU PRAY
Are you currently struggling with sexual sins? Despite the power these sins can have over us, you can have victory through the cleansing blood of Jesus and His grace to live each day.
Pray right now: "Father, forgive me and heal me from the sexual sins which have kept me separated from Your love. Help me to recognize and accept the power Jesus offers to restore me to wholeness. Help me to flee from all influences which cause me to sin, and allow me the meekness and humbleness I need to confide in a brother or sister in Christ and be healed. Encourage me and strengthen me with your holy and powerful Word. Amen."
GOD'S WORD ON SEXUAL SIN
"Don't you know that your bodies are part of the body of Christ? Is it right for me to join part of the body of Christ to an immoral woman? No, it isn't! ... Surely you know that your body is a temple where the Holy Spirit lives. The Spirit is in you and is a gift from God. You are no longer your own. God paid a great price for you. So use your body to honor God." (1 Cor. 6:15, 19-20).
SCRIPTURES FOR STUDY
1 Thessalonians 4:3-8 -- God's will concerning sex
Proverbs 2:12-22 ; 6:20-35 -- The need for God's Word and wisdom
Psalm 51:7 -- Assurance of cleansing
James 1:12 -- Rewards for resisting sexual sin
