Good. Do not be thrown off by the ranking. Some of these highly ranked schools are really not that difficult to get their admission as we portray them to be. With your good profile you only have to sell yourself well to have a good bet. And that you can do through your sop and recommendations. And try to apply early too. Good luck!
seeker88:

Thanks a lot boss....the schools is highly ranked, and I was even afraid of checking it up, with this, I will check it and give it a shot....
Thanks again...

You might want to look at georgia tech. You don't need toefl. You just need a good sop and recommendations, and with your profile you stand a very good chance.
seeker88:
Hello my good people. Please I need your help...

I've finally decided to go for Mechanical Engineering with concentration in Energy Systems come fall 2017. Using google, I discovered some schools that offer Mechanical engineering with option in energy system....schools like University of Louisiana Lafayette, TAMU, Northern Texas University, university of Alabama Huntsville....is there any chance of securing admission and funding in these schools for my profile?

Please can someone help with more schools that offer mechanical engineering with option in energy system in d us, n possible funding too (very important for me). School ranking isn't a priority, I just need safe schools for asmission and funding...

Below is a summary of my profile:
GRE: 305(Q&V), AW 3.5
CGPA: 3.57/4.00 (conversion by WES). 4.23/5.00
Bachelor: Petroleum Engineering
Intended major: MSc (thesis option) in Mechanical Engineering (concentration in energy systems).
TOEFL: 92. Expired, intend to take another TOEFL soonest.

Please, I'd really appreciate if those experienced gurus in d house could kindly assist with reviewing my SOP. I've written one for one of the schools identified and would appreciate ur pieces of advice n suggestions....

Abeg make una help me with schools where I can get admission and funding with this profile in mechanical engineering. Your assistance will be highly appreciated.

Cc: all d gurus in d house.

Thank you all....

Nah! You don't need to go through SOPHAS or WES. Transcripts are evaluated directly by the grad school. And yes, you could apply directly for MPH and have your transcript sent directly to the grad school. Man the heat here is terrible!
eatwell423:
ThankGod for the rain, Chicago was burning and one mugu here is telling me its hot like Africa here undecided I already got the information I needed, wanted to know if one could apply for MPH direct without going through SOPHAS. My problem with SOPHAS is that they require WES and WES do not evaluate result from University of Port Harcourt. My school sued them in January and since then they have removed the notice on their portal. I sent them an email to verify if they now evaluate transcript from University of Port Harcourt.

Georgia is hot like hell...lol. Well could you be more precise, when you say you need information, it's really ambiguous, like I don't even know where to start. Although am in Chemistry but I can help you get the information that you want.

Go through the department research webpage and see which of the faculty's research interests you. Mail the faculty, emphasizing your zeal and interest on his research, And how it will affect your career.

Yeeeees... I remember you now. lols..... don't mind me joor. You come run away at last grin

It's easy to learn to critique papers after I passed through such diagnostic critiques when I was writing my master's thesis.

And it's nice the way you posted your long transcript in quote. It prevents those who like quoting long story and spamming the thread.

God bless you my brother!

Enjoy! Cheers!
