Education / Doctor: Between Phd And MD, Which Is More Presitigious? by Jackelony(m): 3:55pm On Apr 24, 2013
The (Dr.)title is used loosely in reference to both medical doctors and PhD holders. In your opinion, which of the two types of doctors is more reputable. By this, I mean which is more respected in the society?

Music/Radio / Re: Which Musical Instrument(s) Are You Playing Or Would Love To Play? by Jackelony(m): 1:35pm On Aug 06, 2012
Ifystar: It's good to find people with like minds here.
Well, as for me, I play the piano & bass guitar...but a real pro on the keys.
And so, I have something for every intending pianist/keyboardist who want to learn how to play the keyboard.
Guess what, its FREE!!!

So, who wants to learn how to play the piano
I can teach you how to play the keyboard with a step by step, easy-to-learn tutorial that I will give you.
I've uploaded it here; if you are interested, get it.
I hope this helps someone!

Kindly upload or post the link to the FULL tutorial. What is available on the link you posted does not do justice to your claim
of providing a step-by-step guide to learning to play the piano.
Thanks

Literature / Re: What Nigerian Books Are You Reading? by Jackelony(m): 1:47am On May 08, 2012
Why have people decided to turn this thread to a mad zone by uploading all sorts of thrash here. This is very untypical of literary minds.
Anyway, to answer your question, I'm currently reading The Ghost of Sani Abacha by Chuma Nwokolo. To be honest, that is one very interesting piece of literature. Little did I know that our Nigerian novels can be so interesting. Bravo Chuma!

Webmasters / Re: Calling On All Web Design Experts. by Jackelony(m): 2:29pm On Nov 19, 2010
Thanks for your input.

As for the pop-up being from my web browser, I have tried my site on other browsers and got the same result. I presume every web browser is by default set to block scripts so I can't go deactivating it on all the browsers where my site will be run.

As for the the scaling, where can I see the % thingy?
Webmasters / Calling On All Web Design Experts. by Jackelony(m): 8:13pm On Nov 18, 2010
Good day all, I’m a budding web designer and I use Dreamweaver as my development tool. However, I need help from experts in the house. Could anyone please tell me how to make my website scalable (I’m not sure this is the right word)? However, I mean how to make my sites fit properly into all screen sizes. I use a 14’’ monitor and do not like the way my site appears on smaller or bigger screens.

Secondly, I use Fireworks to prepare my drop-down menus and it always pops-up a security alert saying “Internet Explorer has restricted the webpage from running Scripts or Active X control” and ask if I would want to go ahead. Usually, I would click “Yes”, knowing that it is harmless to my computer. But, imagine a scenario where the site is hosted and a not-so-knowledgeable visitor is confronted with the same pop-up, the natural instinct would be to click “NO” (thinking it’s a malignant virus)thereby disabling the menus from dropping.
I hope someone can relate with these issues and assist me speedily.

Thanks

Jokes Etc / Hottest War-of-words Contest On Nl. by Jackelony(m): 7:09pm On Jan 23, 2009
I love Nairaland for so many reasons. Some folks here are intelligent, others amusing & yet some are troublesome. However, as much as I enjoy the didactic posts, I also take pleasure in the war-of-words often displayed here, at the risk of being labelled saddistic.
Therefore, I urge you to post the link to the hottest war-of-words you've experienced in NL.
You never can tell, therd might be something for you.
Foreign Affairs / Obama's Inaugural Speech Not Off-hand Afterall! by Jackelony(m): 6:43pm On Jan 23, 2009
I have just gone through Pres. Obama's inaugural address and in all honesty, it's very powerful, well articulated & lengthy. Could Obama have delivered that address off-hand? I used to think so until I heard an informed opinion stating otherwise.
What do you think? No sentiments please
Nairaland / General / Re: Nairaland Census: Your State by Jackelony(m): 2:13am On Jan 09, 2009
@alextayo, your post smacks of foolishness & intimidation by d so-called non indigenes. I never said I'm in lagos or anyway in love wit d city. Or was that d only meaning ur illiterate mind could gve to my post? Ewu indigene like u.
Nairaland / General / Re: Nairaland Census: Your State by Jackelony(m): 1:53am On Jan 08, 2009
@Zaragoza, I totally agree with ur post. I don't believe Lagosians are more enlightened than the south-east or south-south states, at least not all. Lagos only leads as a result of it's dense population. Come to east & see state-of-the-art cafes and countless others who surf from the (dis)comfort of their homes.

Honestly, from your post, I don't see how u give hope to young school leavers, undergraduates and d unemployed what with your minimum capital of 200k. I had expectd to see employment opportunities for d above stated class.
