Travel / Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by Jahard: 4:22pm On Sep 13 |
Hello everyone, Please I’ve a question. My mum paid her visa fee through gtbank like a day before the visa website closed so she couldn’t book an appointment date. Now they sent her an email for the new website, and she tried using her gtbank receipt for payment reference and it’s saying “payment receipt doesn’t exist”. Anyone else having this problem? |

If you’re on F2, and intend converting to F1, I think you’d still have to come back to Nigeria for an interview (I stand to be corrected). I don’t think there’s a reason to lie about your wife’s F1 status, she probably filled in your details on her Ds 160 when she was applying for F1. You’d have to come up with very strong home ties. Did mine during covid, so it was online. Before the exam, ensure you get a good laptop. (Any laptop with “activate windows” on the desktop wont work). On the day of the exam you do all necessary registrations, it’s extremely important to sign in on time. You can start the exam a couple of hours after signing in, I had to change laptops 3 times. When you start the exam, the first thing you do is show the examiner around your room and around your desk. For Your sitting position, you must back the main entrance. If you face any network problem, your test will stop and you’ve to show the examiner around the room once you restart. You start with an essay (Analytical writing), before heading into the test proper. You’ll either start with quant or verbal, it’s quite random. You get breaks in between as well, until you’re done. Lastly, the more you answer correctly the harder the test gets. And vice versa Yomi174: |

Not to be judgmental or anything, but why’d you go for 4 months without logging on to the portal? There was an update on the platform sometime in February/ March by the embassy. So most people had their dates rescheduled to September. You’re most likely one of them. You need to start hustling for a new date, or apply for Emergency. They sent a mail when the dates were rescheduled, unless you don’t check your mails too. judas001: |

The VOs usually don’t want to see your bank statements. Best to send the statement to your school and have them update your i-20 Jsmithlvdame: |

That makes sense, please share it if you can. I think what matters most with these VOs is how well you can defend your case. krcboy: |

she can say she’s in school but wants to leave because of the inconsistencies caused by the frequent ASUU strikes. The VOs don’t like educational gaps, if she says she has been working with her mum for 8 years I don’t think they’d believe she’s a bonafide student. Another thing, I noticed the VOs rarely approve people in their 20s going for an undergraduate degree. But I stand to be corrected. PeachtreeReside: 1 Like |

You can try convincing the VO They’ll probably ask why the company is giving you a study leave after working with them for just one year. Davegabriel: |

I think you can. You might not even have the opportunity to show them the statements. The VOs really don’t like looking at documents, so most times they don’t ask. Just ensure your story is convincing enough and that you can defend it properly. punchyy: |

This isn’t possible Companies put you on probation for 3-6 months before you’re even confirmed. For a study leave, 3 years or more Davegabriel: 1 Like |

Good afternoon house, I want to ask, if I don’t have a deficit’ on my I-20, do I need to go along with my bank statement for my visa interview? I’ve a full tuition scholarship and I used a student loan to cover the cost of attendance. So I’ve no deficits |
