Travel / Are Flower Seeds Allowed In Nigerian Airport? by Jainine(f): 7:45am On Oct 30, 2023
Hi everyone, I hope you are doing great.

I am very excited to be traveling to Nigeria soon. I want to bring back some bulbs/seed of flowers, as gift for family members to plant in their gardens.

Now the problem is will it be alllowed into Nigeria? I was wondering if you guys have experiences with bringing seeds to Nigeria.

I am still doing my research and I found no information if this is allowed at Nigerian airport or not.

Doesn’t anyone know if it allowed or not? Has anyone brought back some flowers seeds in the past?

Thank you, I appreciate all of your help.

@jainine congratulations but if I may ask, when exactly did you take the IELTS test and was the result sent to your email. I asked because I took the test on Thursday 19 May, although on my portal, there's a message that the result will be available by May 24 which is today but I am yet to get the result. Response from anyone will be helpful please.

I wrote on the same day. 19th, last week Thursday.

No email from them but at 1pm today I checked and it was ready.

Afterwards I also called to inquire about the trf, I was told I could pick it up on Thursday.

Did you use

I am flabbergasted reading all the comments undermining op's concerns.
Etitlement mentality is kill8ng us. I will help siblings and my parent but they will never move without prior arrangements and consent.
My house belongs to me, wife and kids.

This is why you still hear stories of families taking over everything belonging to a deceased member, leaving wife and child with nothing to survive on.

@Kehindeaj78, at this point, you should focus on that which is important to you and that is your immediate family. Looking at it from wifey's side, an investment she committed to because you her husband were involved in would most likely go down the drain because of people you love and you both respect. If you ever wish to retain her trust in you, you should refund back to her her stake. This way, you will show that you would always protect her and hers (you know we as men are supposed to take the bullet for our beloved right?).

About the house, it has 'go'. Let it go. Your wife, you protect.

Peace dear.

Wishing you well - Teemy

You have no idea what the ratio of investment was. Let's assume his wife brought 95% and it took them years (while his money was probably going into expenses)

How then would he easily repay?

Majority of Nigerians generally feel entitled. And perhaps that's why the nation has refused to grow.
OP has been scammed by his parents, and that's a shame.
Trust has been broken. They will definitely lay claim to that house.
The only way OP may salvage the situation a bit is to either to
1. fly down to Nigeria, get the C of O registered in his name and all the other original document of the house and keeping a bank safe or take back to his abode.
This is to ensure no one else would lay claim to the property.

I won't be surprised if the rent they claimed was spent on construction, is in fact a lie. (Not like spending to construct makes it acceptable)

If they were stranded, all they had to do was ask first. That for me is the most upsetting part of this. The level of entitlement! No regards for his labour whatsoever. Phew

He needs to think about the future and get it registered indeed.

Who are these people? How can you all see nothing wrong in this? Moved in without permission... just wow!

The parents know he would not agree to it. They moved in without asking just to make it difficult for Kehindeaj78 (just as it already is)

It is such a difficult position to be in, even if he goes ahead to tell them that it belong to him and his wife, they won't move out.

I really love this, it helps me see things from cbn perspectives, it is also very interesting to read.

But followong your fuel price example.

People will not consider the black market price of fuel at all, if they could walk into a fuel station and buy it.

Shouldn't the real issue, which is the heavy demand and inadequate supply of dollar, be tackled instead

Cbn has authorised commercial banks to supply to the public, but the banks are already putting customers on wait list. Customers automatically will go back to the same black market that have been cut short of their own supply.

This can only drive price higher

22brains, sadly it is a medical condition. I watched a documentary yesterday on this family with the condition. I didn't know there were people living with the condition in Nigeria, it must be very tough for him.

It is a hereditary condition. He could pass down if he chose to birth children.

I would advise reach out to the media and get his story out. Real benefits could come from that, like medical help, financial ones or even his dream job.

I do wish him the best.

The smart thing to do, have just one bank atm.

Only transfer to that account for expenses, Like when you want to spend, withdraw or use POS.

If you misplace the card you will be safe, if pos guys get the digits they will only find your change there. If someone who knows your pin steal your card, you will have no reason to be worried...

This trick has worked for me for so many years now.

Deceit is wrong yes, but what do you want gay men and women to do in a hostile society?? Not everyone is strong to stand up to bullies, others succumb easily to pressure when they think about the stigmatization, persecution, rejection and hatred.

It's like you don't live in Nigeria else you would have known what I'm talking about.

That's why LGBTQ rights are being advocated, so people can live comfortably and so that no one will be caught in the cross-fire. Everyone deserves better, wether hetero, homo or bi

I'm not trying to be insensitive, especially to the struggles of LGBTQ in Nigeria.

I am just rather a very fair person.

If your family is forcing you to marry move, relocate.

There is no justification for that level of cruelty to heterosexual partner.

I understand your point but then again the society frowns and stigmatizes unmarried folks. How long can one stay unmarried or without love?

You call it love or pressure to settle?
Like it's the highest level of selfishness. Rope up someone else you can't love into your nest because you are afraid of being single or afraid of the society.

That level of deceit is not justifiable.

You try to categorise sex between two consenting adult, same with sex with animals... Yo Dude! Don't be like that.

Do you even know what consent in sex is?

Sex with aninal, under age kid and sex with the dead are all labelled as abuse because, these categories are not fit to give consent.

Na, deception is deception.

Its like saying if the society provide food there will be no thieves. A thief is a thief, irrespective of circumstance.

A deceptive person is a deceptive person irrespective of the cultural norm.

Its unforgivable for a homosexual to marriage an heterosexual and therefore complicate the person life.

Man! Years of no orgasms lol and for a weak person, lowself estimate will definitely build.

Its best to stay single if you are not strong enough to stand against the culture.

SehgateTeam:
Sincerely, all this back and forth policy will bring more hardship and pains to already struggling citizens

How can you instruct a business owners what to do with their money? How can you tell someone he/ she must sell dollar to bank and go with naira by force.

Sadly, this policy will not only affect business owners or someone doing online business and getting paid in Dollar but will affect every aspect of the economy.

Quickly let me break it down;

Recently buying price of raw sesame seeds in China was 1100usd per ton. This price include buying, Cleaning, logistics, shipping, and import duties to China mainland ports. Meanwhile In Nigeria, the buying cost Is 430,000 per ton at pick up. This price exclude cleaning, Logistics, shipping, and miscelleous.

With crazy logistics cost, high cost of freight, and miscellaneous. How do you expect exporter to sell at CBN rate of 380naira to Dollar and make profit.

Now most foreign buyers shift their focus to other countries with stable foreign exchange. Ethiopia, Ghana, Benin will quote best price for agricultural produce anytime ,anyday compare to Nigeria which is facing a lot of policy challenges.

Hardly to see what the policy is doing to help the economy.

Only in Nigeria citizens were forced to provide everything for themselves.

-No pipe borne water, you have to dig borehole yourself

-No electricity, you have to depend on Generator

- No security, street must have vigilantes, and each houses with personal Aboki as gateman.

- If you order anything online it will take 365days before you get it due to slow and bad Nipost structure.

Recently, primary school pupils where also ask to come with nose mask and sanitizers, then i asked 500naira worth of sanitizer and nose mask is not too much for this children.

I pray we can get things right someday.

So SAD......

I want to write a whole page full of how bleeped up that Sh is but then no one cares! The policy is just as bad as hate speech fine. Even worse!

I mean, this people just do what the f they like and no one is there to challenge them, no one. How can they tell people what to do with their foreign currency. Like what the actual F.

Sweet Sweet Sweet irony.

It is interesting that when Hollywood make effort to combat racism, fight slave trade, take a stand against rapist, showcase the danger of terrorism.
It is all seen as " Great Hollywood" but when support is shown for LGBT, homophobia is awoken a 100% and it becames a problem.

The reason for these scenes is actually to teach you to live and let others live.

It's also okay if you feel the scene stand against what you believe in, that is not a problem, quit the movie entirely.

175K per month, not per term. That's 47% of the normal school fees they paid when students go to school physically. Then add internet cost, plus cost of purchasing computers for these children. It is too much.

It's too much but in relation to the school fee I think it might be quite fair.. cost of running the school hasn't change yet right? They will still need to pay the worker and provide connection too ...

One of you quoted me saying black men are the most desired the other one said white men are.... grin Lol not like it's important, it was just funny coincidence I thought I should point out.

This has nothing to do with physical attraction, let's be clear blackmen and women are the most attractive! so this is not about kissing white boys ass... This is about how to treat a woman right and why egoistic Nigerian men find it hard to cope with Nigerian girls who know they deserve better, Home or abroad but same girls tend to be swiped away by some random white dude.

Kobojunkie:

I have equally observed this myself !
Many of my Nigerian gals married to white men, have less drama to deal with in their relationships compared to the gals married to Nigerian men. The difference is like night and day in some cases, almost to the point of boring since the gals married to whitemen rarely have real complaints for me to listen to.. grin

I didn't even point out how, from the start a white guy is not trying to woo a black girl with material thing but being there, caring, supportive, loving, Sweet, Building a real thing.

Not Nigerian men, they will say they don't have time for all that... Soon they will say women leave when they get broke. Where as all the foundation of their relationship was built on money money.

Thats by the way, I'm sure your biracial couple friends fight over how much pepper go into the meal when they are cooking cheesy cheesy

And on a final note. I respect men who respect women (white men or black men) and that_shit doesn't make you weak, It's sexy as hell!

Peace out!
