It is written, 'the triumphing of the wicked is but for a short time'...

The Prayers of God's children is prevailing and in no distant time, the Lord by His mercy
will strengthen the nation to crush all forms of extremism - both local & international.

Education / Re: Why You Must Finish With At Least A 2.1 by Jason2014(m): 4:26pm On Sep 11, 2014
It's a wonderful opportunity and an idea to graduate with a first class or a 2:1 but even at that there is an immense need to acquire 21st century skills that will give you the unfair advantage over job seekers.

Take for example - you studied accounting (graduated first class or 2:1) from a higher institution of learning and then pick up a good job as an accounts officer in an organisation and thereafter you worked for a couple of years making good money but doing the same routine in your office with little regard to developing your skills and acquiring cutting edge IT integrated business solutions skills such as understanding accounting packages (Peachtree, Quickbooks etc) that will move you to the next level of your career and also not minding your ICAN exams...

...and then your counterpart who graduated with a third class or 2:2, decided to go the way of a small audit firm (Na me Na you & Co.) receiving meagre amount as salary but gradually picking up his professional exams (ICAN or ACCA) along the way & at the same time acquiring the required skills needed for future growth burning the candle oil and making the necessary sacrifice and then spending the same number of years with the brother above.

In the event there is a shake up in the organisations, it is imminent that the employee in the first organisation is bound to suffer the most because there is no added skill & personal value addition to himself despite he's a first class material.

My Take
In as much as it amazing to graduate with a 2:1 or 1st class, continuous learning guarantees wealth creation, sustainability & growth regardless of your grade. The truth is, after some years of working a paid employment, you'll want to startup your business and only continuous learning assures you of that.
