The United States department of Justice in conjunction with Swiss police have released new indictments following the 6.a.m arrests of two FIFA Vice-presidents, Alfredo Hawit of Honduras and Juan Angel Napout of Paraguay, in Zurich yesterday. A total of 16 officials have been laced with fresh corruption charges for sums totalling $200million dollars mostly relating to TV and marketing deals in north, south and central America and the Caribbean.

The most shocking detail in the new indictment is the new revelation involving officials who were indicted following arrests last May namely Jack Warner and Jeffrey Webb who has already pleaded guilty to seven charges, but this men in the most inhumane of professional characters embezzled money meant for Haiti Relief victims..

Webb, a banker from the Cayman Islands, has pleaded guilty to racketeering conspiracy, three counts of wire fraud conspiracy and three counts of money laundering conspiracy. As part of his Webb's plea, he agreed to forfeit more than $6.7m dollars.

Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose has dissociated himself from calls by some state governors for the reduction of the N18, 000 minimum wage. According to Fayose, instead of the governors to cut down on the minimum wage which isn't enough, they should cut down on their travels and tours and the number of wives and children they have. He said this during the Agenda for the Treasury Board meeting held as part of preparation of the 2016 Budget in Ekiti today December 4th.

"Today most newspapers reported the story about call by some state governors that the minimum wage of N18,000 be reduced or that there should be massive retrenchment of workers in the public service. They are on their own and I take exemption to that. The minimum wage is even not enough. Reduction of wages or retrenchment of workers won't happen in Ekiti State. Instead of those anti-labour and anti-people policies, the governors should cut down on their travels and tours and cut down minimum wives and children and their affluence. Let the governors cut their coats according to their sizes. Why are they changing the goal post when the match has started? When they were campaigning, there were indices of the looming economic challenges then, why did they not use that to campaign and see if people will vote for them? They should have told Nigerians then that the economy is bad and that they would sack workers and reduce their salaries while campaigning and see if they would win. They cannot just change the rules midway. If you sack somebody, it is like cutting down a tree. The person sacked has dependants and himself to cater for. If the government is owing, it is better. It will be on record that the government is owing and when the economy improves, we can then pay the workers rather than sacking them and sending them into the labour market. It is not my agenda to sack workers. Despite the low allocations coming to Ekiti State, I won't do that," he said.

A former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo today said no Nigerian has an excuse of saying he/she has no access to higher education especially now that NOUN has come to stay. He explained that the institution since its take-off in 2005 while he was still the president had been a viable alternative to conventional institutions, especially for adults desirous of university education and admission seekers.
He disclosed this at his Hilltop residence in Abeokuta while paying host to the executive of the NOUN alumni association led by its president, Mr. Phil Colman, and the vice-president, South-West, Mr. Ayeni Olutope.
He said, “Nobody in Nigeria will say he/she does not have access to higher education with NOUN, except he/she does not want. I saw some students complaining about law accreditation in NOUN, but I hope the Law programme has come to stay.”
The former President bagged a degree in Theology from the institution.

Barely three weeks after the Lagos State Government through the State Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA shut down 40 religious outfits across the state, the agency yesterday shut down 22 more and three companies. According to them, the religious houses have been causing noise pollution in their environment, while the said companies risk causing hazards to human health.

The General Manager of LASEPA, Adebola Shabi has however said the sanctioned churches would begin to pay fines ranging from N50,000 to N100,000 before they will be re-opened and enforced to operate under the law of the State.

agency.The Dept. of Health and Human Services
examined the Yorkville Endoscopy Center, where
Joan stopped breathing. The Dept. found there's
no record that the staff weighed Joan before
administering the Propofol ... the point being, the
amount of the sedative should be based on
size.The computer at the clinic also shows she was
given a huge dosage of Propofol. A staff member
told the Dept. she made a mistake inputting the
dosage and put in more than twice the actual
amount give to Joan.And according to the report,
Joan's personal doctor, Gwen Korovin, came into
the operating room without authorization. The
Dept. says she announced to the room, "I will go
first" ... meaning she would do the first procedure
on Joan.And, according to the report, Joan only
consented to an upper endoscopy procedure, but
Dr. Korovin did more ... a laryngoscopy.As for the
now-famous selfie pic that Dr. Korovin took in the
room ... according to the Dept. the doctor asked
the staff to take the picture of her doing the
procedure, saying Joan might have wanted it. And
finally ... the Dept. says the doctors didn't notice
Joan was literally dying on the table. As her
oxygen levels plummeted, they were
oblivious.Melissa Rivers tells TMZ she is "outraged

With West Africa, and indeed the rest of the world, still reeling from the deaths brought about by the Ebola virus, the recent death of a Ugandan hospital technician of another deadly viral disease, Marburg Haemorrhagic Fever (MHF), has brought fresh fears, Tribune Newspaper reports.
Uganda’s Ministry of Health disclosed that a total of 99 people who had been in contact with the victim had been moved to quarantine. These contacts are being monitored for signs and symptoms of the disease after tests confirmed that the 30-year-old man who worked as a radiographer in a Kampala hospital died of the disease. The man was said to have had a headache, abdominal pains, diarrhoea and vomited blood before he died.

Marburg virus was first identified in 1967, after simultaneous outbreaks in Marburg (from which the disease takes its name) and Frankfurt both in Germany, Belgrade, Serbia and Yugoslavia. It was later traced back to monkeys imported from Uganda for laboratory work. Since then, the virus has appeared sporadically, with just a dozen outbreaks on record. The most recent outbreak, also in Uganda, in 2012, killed four out of 15 patients, according to the United States of America’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
