the suspect father The 23 year old would-be bomber of Northwest airline flight 253 has been identified as a Nigerian engineering student at a British university. Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab, tried to blow up a transatlantic aircraft nearing Detroit in a suspected al-Qaeda plot. The Al-Qaida linked Nigerian, Abdul Farouk Abdulmutallab is an engineering student at University College London and the son of recently retired chairman of First Bank of Nigeria Dr. Umaru Abdul Mutallab.
