Thanks for the observation, it skipped us.

Words can be given contextual meanings and even though we had wished to say 'journey'. It is a never ending sojourn, with new exciting starts and stays all the way.

You are indirecly cursing yourself with the sojourn word. What you wanted was conjoined which would have been acceptable

No, they're not. At least not on a comparable basis.
How does one compare a UK hall with an African stadium? Even someone as dry as KC can shut down a stadium in Africa. And what's the deal with Malians and the musical language?
I sing Despacito and I don't know jack Spanish.
His argument is pretty weak.

This is not to say Davido is bad. He has his fans, too, but all these stuff the Op wrote... Nah. Dude can do better than this.

I agree with whatever you have to say

Politics / Re: Atiku To Critics: Prove I Am Corrupt Or Shut Up Forever by jaybee3(m): 1:53pm On Sep 12, 2017

In as much as I'm not Atiku's fan, I'd still prefer him anytime anyday to Buhari or GEJ. So, if I'm presented with Atiku and Buhari in 2019, I'll wholeheartedly give him my vote and mandate, and encourage everyone around me to do so.

Nigeria and Nigerians would never have been this hungry and divided if APC got it right in December 2014 and had given Atiku the ticket.

What's the difference between your Vote and Mandate?

Thank you Jaybee for the response.
I want to believe I'm verifiable then. lol. Right?

But sadly, I am not in Naija, else I wouldnt mind doing my best to verify this myself. That's why I suggested a friend who stays in Uyo. But I dont think she has a NL account.

If TEHN knows anyone that stays in Uyo and is verifiable, that will be great.

PS: Please note that I dont know the Family personally and I am very much interested in verifying this, as TEHN is.

Thank you!

You’re welcome Vicky.

Of course you are verifiable naaaaaaaa

TeHN can’t be directly involved with medical cases regardless of it being limited. However, as we’ve previously advised with this sort of situation, it’s probably best you engage the moderator of the Health section to help coordinate the verification process

Hello TEHN,

Thank you for your response.
Just a quick question. When you say the verification has to be done by a verifiable Nairalander, is it TEHN that chooses the Nairalander? Or how's it done?

Thank you TEHN!

A verifiable Nler is one with a long standing posting history.

Romance / Re: Tough Economy Causes Scarcity Of Marriage Suitors In Lagos by jaybee3(m): 4:20pm On Jun 28, 2017
agitator:

Now you are talking. Problem is Nigerians are not adapting, keeping the old cultures that favours them and accepting the new/foreign that favours them, others are at the receiving end.

Women want equal opportunities, as the advanced world, while maintaining man being responsible for the welfare of the family.

This causes a shortage of marriageable men, because the men want to meet up. wink wink wink

So we shouldn't disengage/derail wheel or pace of evolvement but instead educate the younger ones on how to make themselves attractive to prospective suitors

Flip as much as you want.

1. It is the man that pays the bride price in Nigeria.

2. It is the responsibility of the man (by African tradition) to feed the family (although some women are breadwinners, but in most of such marriages the man has no say in the family).

3. The man also takes care of his parents and siblings including those of the wife's family (except in few instances where the wife is rich or her family is well-off).

The developed west we are copying, scrapped bride price a long time ago.
and family financial responsibility is shared.

Bride price is culture specific hence isn't recognised by the law. Though it's common but surely can't be used as standard

It was the responsibility of the man back in 'em days as written in the holy book. Women historically stayed at home as most jobs required and demanded physical prowess. World has evolved and we ought to adapt accordingly

u made brain!!

I've always been an advocate of this.

Let's flip it for a second and view it from a father/daughter angle.

Would you feel comfortable allowing your daughter whom you've tremendously invested in become a second class citizen just so she can become a Mrs?
Or
Would it be acceptable not to invest in them (girls) but rather focus on the boys since they will most certainly yield positive financial results?

I think it has a lot to do with understanding and full acceptance of roles in marriages.

Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by jaybee3(m): 11:48am On Jun 16, 2017
miella:

It is better to go for longer tenor especially if the amount you are investing is high.

For example, see the difference between investing N100,000 for 364 days and the same N100,000 for 91 days below:

If you invest N100,000 for 364 days at a rate of 18.65%, your interest will be N18,650.00.

While for 91 days @ 13. 6% your interest will be N3,390.68

Now if you multiply 3,390.68 * 4, your interest will be N13,562.72 (if you invest four times in a year for 91 days each)

So you can see longer tenor will give higher interest. Now imagine if you invest like N4,000,000.00, the difference will be very high

Your Calc is slightly off but your point is valid if we don't take the possibility of rate rising into account
