I actually paid around £13,000 using form A at the bank, I couldn't pay up the remaining because there is a restriction per student. Each student can only make around $14,000 at once and then you'd have to wait for 3 months for another such transaction to your school.

However, during all the times I made the payment, it took at most 2 days and I got my telex copy. Sent it to school and school confirmed payment within 2 days also. So I'm surprised people are using 3 weeks to a month for such transactions.
Okay calm...thanks so very much

You are paying two sets of fees for a UK Tier 4 visa. The fees are denominated in pounds sterling, but the payment provider the UKVI uses to charge your cards expresses all payments in dollars.

1. One is the actual visa fee itself, of £348, which is the equivalent of $473 you mentioned.
2. The second is a fee for using the NHS, known as the IHS, which is £450, the equivalent of $612 you have mentioned.

Both must be paid before your application is processed. You pay the IHS first before the main visa fee.
If a visa is refused, the IHS will be refunded and the visa fee will not.

Please kindly enlighten me on steps to paying IHS fee. Clicked on PAY for IHS and it created a reference number for me but no further direction. Read somewhere that you'll be directed on how to pay your IHS through your Visa application Thanks

There is not cheapest city or university. Most universities offer accredited programs with tuition discounts available for self sponsored students. I don’t know if you can qualify for post graduate diploma with your HND but I know you can do one year top up. See ehn google is your friend.

One thing I've learned, most courses offered in UK universities are not accredited and it doesn't really matter except you're in the medical field or highly technical fields like BioMed, Lab science etc

Good day Fam, I trust you all are doing good good. i need your input on the PSW visa and my question is, can you invite your spouse to UK during your psw visa( after your tier 4) and would she be entitled to work full time? I know details about the policy still sketchy but any useful information will be appreciated

Thanks for the advice and everything. I really appreciate. . I don't know if change of course will be acceptable or reapplying for a different course will be the best option. Thanks a lot

I suggest you write the school requesting for change of course, if they offer the course you wish to change to. It's much easier since they already have your documents and credentials. Also with your experience and professional qualification, I strongly recommend you go for MSc. Accounting as earlier advised by @hosey. You stand a better chance

I asked for a friend. Look it's only when this virus is eradicated then you can go to the UK to study. Or will you like to go to UK and get infected with a strong strain of the virus and then get killed? Even the US today advised it's citizens in Nigeria coming back that they were doing so at their own risk

Oga, should have said until they close this thread before the virus can be eradicated now. Park well

IMPORTANT ADVICE ON SECURING EMPLOYMENT

No course you study will give you automatic job opportunity for PR. There is nothing like the best course to study. We only suggest you to seek shortage occupation list job because of the minimum financial earnings giving you more chance. However, this will not guarantee you any job.

People that are not even in shortage lists can even get full time job and resume immediately after their studies as there are numerous examples of these. What will enable you secure job in the UK for PR are your skills, competences and experience. These will enable you stand out.

For example, if there is only one position for Mechanical Engineering in an organisation and about three people reach the final interview stage. What will make you get the job is what you will add to the company that the other candidates might not add. If you have good programming and can apply machine learning and AI to improve your company, then you will most likely get the job as opposed to others who dont have those skills. Soft skills like good interpersonal and project management skills can also be the difference between success and failure.

Thank them for what exactly..... you write as if they are doing him a favour. It a mutually beneficial relationship. He gets an education and they get paid . If they dont want to go ahead fine there are many other schools in uk

What has humble got to do with it. The school was out of order . Its comment like this that make for exploitation of someone

You don't get it. There's time for everything, its never right to start off a relationship on that note. You'll just push this guy to trouble and when the chips are down you'll be nowhere to be found. Doesn't matter who is doing who a favour, generally you don't resolve issue by immediately threatening people with legal action. put yourself in the shoes of the school. like I said earlier in most cases they offer discount, what if the school had that in plan. No matter how you see it, it's rude to immediately threatened anyone or institution with legal action. if life hasn't thought you this then you have some growing up to do

UPDATE GUYS!!!
They finally reduced the fees after I threatened involving a Lawyer. They now want me to send my bank statement by end of next month.

Everyone telling you how brilliant your move to threaten your potential school with a lawyer is but i for one think you should have explore other peaceful approaches of resolving the issue first. Reasons: you and your school are just getting started plus you haven't secured a visa yet. Best thing to do in this situation was to follow dialogue, threatening with a lawyer should have been your last resort. Basically UK schools give discount for any change in starting date, that is almost certain. Well, moving forward I would suggest you write them thanking them for reversing the fee. Be humble, remember UK is a polite society. Tell them you're glad they gave your query consideration as that would have tampered with your travel plans. Then you follow it up by telling them when you think it's convenient for you to provide your Bank statement. When you get to the UK you can threaten and sue sh** as much as you want. If you don't do this, they might be up to something. If you can't provide your bank statement they might offer to refund you which some schools take a handsome percentage of your CAS fee. In the meantime start looking at other possible options. Wish you luck

lol, I think logic should at least suggest to you that the worldremit you recommended has very good rates and it's easier to send money if you have someone there receiving, but you don't think that way. Matter of fact i wanted someone to collect the money and pay something on my behalf. Plus how on earth do you expect me to send you proof of an illegality when my cousin is involved. C'mon do you even use your head? look I'm not here to convince anyone to take that path but what I said is the honest truth and nothing more

I missed out? lol ok

So you’re cousin came as a student , stayed 6 years illegally & got PR? He didn’t file for asylum or anything. The law firm just won the case magically & he got PR?

Go to the back pls

exactly the scenario, he came in as a student, flexed his school fees on girls and shoes. this caused a lot of heat in the family, he was afraid to return to Nigeria until two years back he got his pr. this year he enrolled at a university. let's just say he got lucky but it did happen. grin

No one said life in Nigeria is better & no one said the two years post study visa ain’t valuable.

We only said people should plan accurately.

No company can file PR for you, don’t mix things up. They can only sponsor your TIER 2, which will lead to ILR , then PR & Citizenship. Now most companies only file 3 years for you , which is not enough for the ILR requirement (5 yrs). So you still have to hope for them to renew your Tier 2 by working hard & showing them that you’re an asset.

British citizenship is not an easy task.
If you can tell me any student in the U.K. that has gotten citizenship the way you just “proclaimed”. I will send you £50 straight now! Then PR £25 quid. Just one person o, not 2.

People from Caribbean & other countries that came to the U.K. since 90’s are still battling to get PR even not passport, & you a student will come and get it JLT.

Let’s be realistic please.
Getting PR in the U.K. takes ages, like yeaaaaaars & you have to be 100% genuine. In the case of that you have not defaulted any immigration rule. It’s like trying not to break raw egg.

How many international students even stick to the 20 hours a week rule?

Yes you can get back your money from menial jobs but your body go hear am las las. At the end those menial jobs may not even help you to pursue a career in your area of studies.

I’m not discouraging anyone but I think it’s only right to be realistic with people, so they can also brace for the worst. U.K. is just only easy to get to because they’re after your money & nothing more. They cannot stop international students from coming because they’re the ones supporting the system with fees etc

Hello, like I said earlier it's not gonna be easy but it's worth every penny and there couldn't be a better destination for international students. Perhaps you're a little upset you missed out on the PSW which is understandable but please don't discourage others. plus my cousin lived in the UK illegally for 6 years and still was able to get permanent resident status with the help of a strong law firm. Jobs in UK are basically less stressful except you're extremely rich or lazy for example you can work in crowd control, hospitality, security( basically you sit in one place and watch cctv) or events services( arranging tables and chairs) you get paid handsomely for these services(so called menial jobs) in fact you're better off than someone working with NNPC or CBN and I'm not even mincing words. In Nigeria you'll do jobs that your body, soul, and spirit go hear am and still your take home pay will be like 50k. All I'm saying is if you can afford to study in the UK please by all means do, you'll get back every penny you spend and much more just doing menial jobs and that's worst case scenerio, what we call a win win. Wishing all prospective applicants luck

I'm a bit surprised and baffled that even with the 2 years post study policy some people are still painting a very nasty picture of life in UK. I want to state it clearly to those who are easily swayed or discouraged that you're 100 times better off in the UK than Nigeria and 10 times better off than other countries and i kid you not. The two year post study will help you secure a more reliable job because most firms are looking for stable employees. Life in UK is not the same as it were a couple of months ago, in fact you'll easily make back millions you spend on your tuition and much more doing casual jobs and if you're lucky enough to secure a white collar job your company may file for permanent resident status on your behalf which will enhance your chances of getting a better position and even citizenship. I'm not saying it's gonna be easy but it's worth every of your penny and trust me there's no better place in the world at the moment you'd rather study at. Just go with a plan and stay focused. Thank me now #winks

Go in & make enquires.
It will be cheaper than all these third party sites. Or you can find someone selling pounds at a good rate. I doubt anyone will be selling now tho lol.
I checked Azimo & saw 408 as rate.
Worldremit 403.

That is flywire is just stealing.

looked up Azimo & Saw and Worldremit. both don't have Nigeria listed on countries you could send money from. Is there anyway one can get around this?
