Education / Cost Of NECO Registration In Private Schools by jbadmus: 5:13am On Jan 18, 2023
Hello Everyone,

I would like to know the average cost of NECO registration private schools in Ijebu-Ode do charge for external applicants. An acquaintance living in that environs told me they needed help with this, and the cost is 50k. So, I was wondering if the cost to register for SSCE has so much skyrocketed over the years. I would have confirmed this myself but I'm currently not in a position to do this. A simple search online showed a clear departure from the stated amount but I think there could be some administrative charges.

Please, if anyone has an idea of the average cost of NECO registration and other charges , I will be glad to know. I understand it may vary from one school to the other but the margin should not be that significant.

Just as I said politics of bigotry never work with Yorubas and it won't now.
It's always about religion and Tribal for you Easterners and you are claiming you are better people. Chai!

Well, I give it up to you. You have won; have a good one! May Nigerians elect the best leader who will make the country great again! After all a great Nigeria is all I want!

Yorubas are wiser they know your Hatred for Tinubu is just a Hatred for whole Yoruba people in disguise. Religion never separated them before it won't now.
The only reason your people are always backward in Nigeria politics is because this bigotry way of thinking.

Why do you guys always have the notion that any individual that appears not to be a supporter of Tinubu is from the other ethnic groups? I am not sure if you are in touch with current reality. If no single christian is capable to be Tinubu's running mate from the North, you think the majority of christians from the South West will not vote against him? I have no doubt that if the table was to turn, MURIC whose leader is a Yoruba man would be the first person who will speak against it, and advise individuals from South West who are of the same faith as his to vote against such Yoruba candidate. Tell me this will not happen if reverse was the case.

So, stating that Yoruba are not divided along religion line may not be totally correct as far as 2023 presidential election is concerned. Yes, Yorubas co-exist irrespective of religion, but this coming 2023 election might be different if the Yoruba Christians feel slighted. Of course, for political correctness, there might be the pretense that, 'oh, it doesn't matter; we are one!' Watch out for the voting pattern when the christians in the south west will 'speak' with their votes! That is when you will understand that things have changed and that Nigerians are now seriously divided along religion, even in the south west that some considered sophisticated in thinking.

So the same way some will vote against Peter Obi in the SE and also Atiku in the North
Have you ever seen 100% votes anywhere ?
That's why it's called election. Everybody has he/her own choice. It's democracy

Absolutely, I concur. However, SOME and MAJORITY are never the same. The majority in this context means that the number of votes will be very significant. Of course, there can't be a 100% vote sweep for any of the candidates in their zones of 'electoral strength'. However, the significance of votes (in terms of number and percentage) Peter Obi will receive from the South West will be very much as compared to the very low votes Tinubu will receive in the South East. Peter Obi will do very well in the South West more than Tinubu will perform in the South East and South South combined. For example, Lagos will be a battle ground between Tinubu and Obi, but no state in the South East or South South can be described as such for Tinubu. Besides, 'you' can count on people from Ondo State, they don't practice the 'follow-follow' kind of politics. I think Peter Obi has a good chance to win because the lion share of the votes from the North (East and West) will be distributed among Tinubu, Atiku, and KwanKwanso. Peter Obi will win both the South East, South South, and put forward a good show in South West and Middle Belt. This is simply my personal opinion, which may be right or wrong. February of 2023 will tell!

All in all, a better Nigeria is what I personally crave for, and I am cautiously optimistic that either of the three leading candidates may perform better than the present president. I have listened to the three frontliners engaged different focus groups, and I can tell they all have very good plans.Whether they could be trusted is, however, debatable.

More trouble for Atiku.
He just want to scatter Atiku northern block votes
Just like Obi is going to starve Atiku in the south.
The only clear winner in 2023 is Tinubu.
No one can spoil the south west for him
And is sure he ll get more than 25% from all the northern states. I said All.

Regarding the votes from the South West, I can tell you that majority of Christians from the south west will clearly vote against Tinubu. A good number of youth and the 'non-political elites' in the south west will vote against Tinubu as well.
Education / Re: Please, Help, How Can HND Be Converted To BSC? by jbadmus: 12:04am On Dec 14, 2022
HeliumStar:
Hello everyone, please I'd like to know if it's possible for an HND certificate to be converted (through some kind of top-up programme) to a BSc certification.

If it's possible, please help with the guidelines, the available universities, the school fees, the duration, how the certificate would look like; like normal BSc cert or plagued with "part-time" on it?

If you know about KWASU's top-up programme particularly, please enlighten me.

Thanks, please help some brethren.

Why would you want to convert HND to B.Sc? Please, check this thread: https://www.nairaland.com/7194807/general-usa-student-visa-enquiries-part and ask for guidance. Let me give you a bit of the tips, and you would thank me later.
Do a credential evaluation, write a GRE, apply directly to universities in the USA . You can get a Graduate Assistantship that can help you take care of your tuition. It also comes with monthly stipend. Instead of wasting another three years pursuing same level of degree, you would have gotten a master's degree in the USA, and started working; probably sending money to your loved ones in Nigeria. Forget the mentality that that HND is inferior to B.Sc. I have been there before; so, I can conveniently tell you this!
Please, if you can do this, just check the USA students thread here on Nairaland. There are lots of information in there. Good luck!

Again, here he comes; oozing out the odour of arrogance! Now let's talk to the issues you mentioned.I won't come down to your level using uncouth language. Please, get that right!

All the leading candidates have all you mentioned. They have been to campaign grounds and have spoken to people. They have been interviewed by either CNN or BBC before now, and they have track records. However, they are still availing themselves to answer everyday questions.

That being said, CHATHAM House has also invited the other three leading candidates, and that does not prevent them from making themselves available for debate. Please, get it right, what happened in CHATHAM House when Tinubu went there remains an embarrassment!

Nigerians want a president who will not see himself a BIG MAN. After all, Tinubu is a job applicant for this position. If not, why is he begging Nigerians to vote for him? If Tinubu, a job applicant I repeat , for this position cannot attend an unbiased debate organized by Channels TV, then Nigerians should know he does not deserve their votes. Yes, many will understand that he has issues with Arise TV. What about Channels TV? What about the one organized in NTA by Kadaria Ahmed media?

I have no doubt that when majority of Nigerians become very educated, enlightened, and get the necessary exposure, their leaders will never take them for granted again! Not even a state governor will come out and brag that they will 'deliver their states', making it seem that the indigenes of the states have no brain on their own to think and take decisions!

I have questions for him. And it goes thus:

Sir, if it is not gross delusion and an uncureable denial. Where do you think your votes will be coming from self?

Why waste funds, energy and time on an impossible unattainable ambition ? Since 1999.

The last one is, what did you do peter obi ? I dont know what transpired between the both of you in 2019. But wetin you tell am, wetin you put for him head. Wey the chicken kom dey feel like eagle. i dont know what you did. But his downfall in 2023 will be on you. You killed his political career.

While it is true that you have the rights to ask your questions, I do hope the candidate you are supporting, Bola Tinubu, would also present himself just as these presidential candidates are doing? When he does, I hope he won't ask the organizer to bend the rules for him; delegating questions, and other 'strange inventions'?

Afterall, this one is not organized by the Arise TV!

Good one. I wish he had clinched the ticket of his party, he would have made a good president. If the current candidate of the party wins, I hope Nigeria won't become a laughing stock through some strange display of mannerism enveloped with lots of incoherence. A great Nigeria is all we want!
Nigerians deserve the kind of leaders they have. With the introduction of BIVAS, and electronic transmission of results at the polling units, I am cautiously optimistic that power has returned to the people. The elites can now leave the comfort of their sitting room on the election day to vote, believing that their votes will count.

Politics / Re: This Election Has Gone Both Tribal And Religious. by jbadmus: 8:27pm On Dec 09, 2022
Unfortunately, this is true. Was it like this in 2015? It was not largely as it is right now. In 2015, a lot of Christians voted for Buhari against Jonathan, a fellow Christian because many Christians believed he(Buhari) would perform better. Besides, many Christians then believed he also has a VP who is a Christian.

Down the line, between 2015 and 2022, a lot has happened in the country. The killing of Deborah is one of such events. To worsen the situation, one of the front liners picked a fellow individual of the same faith, claiming that such decision was based on competence, and capacity. While that may be correct, a lot of Christians would argue that competence and capacity can also be found in a Christian from the North. If the Presidential candidate comes out to simply state that the decision was made so that he can win elections by securing the votes of Northern majority in terms of faith, some few Christians might say, oh well, it is what it is. However, in a bid to act smart, the presidential candidate and his supporters keep on insulting the Christians that none of them in the North has the competence and capacity enough to be a running mate.

Trust me, if reverse was the case, the majority of the other faith adherents will also feel slighted, MURIC will complain, and majority of them will not vote a christian-christian ticket. It is very funny that some are asking for understanding when they wouldn't accept same thing if the table was to turn.

Don't forget that out of the four front runners, three belong to the same faith, while one is a christian. So, the mathematics is that if the votes would go by way of religion, the three candidates of same faith can as well divide the votes of their fellow faith adherents among themselves, while the only Christian candidate will get the majority of Christian votes. The outcome is predictable. This is why the supporters of the three other candidates always like to shout and express their frustrations each time Peter Obi attends a church gathering, like that of Shiloh yesterday. They know it is a masterstroke, and they can't just continue watching while Peter Obi keeps on wining the hearts of the Christians, even some other faith adherents alike.

Regarding the ethnicity or tribe consideration, I just want to appeal to some of my(not all of them do this please) friends from the east to stop attacking other tribes because of Peter Obi. Peter Obi is a Nigerian Project; not an Igbo Candidate. Yes, he may come from Anambra State but he is highly detribalized, and sees himself as someone who will be the president of Nigeria; not of a particular tribe. The votes of the Igbos alone cannot make Peter Obi the president. Hence, the need to tone down on name calling of other tribes. That is the narrative people on the opposing sides want to push forward. Even when a comment was made by someone from the southwest in favour of Peter Obi, you will see that the paid online supporters will quickly make it seem that the writer is an Igbo . Many of Peter Obi supporters are not from the East. I can tell whoever cares to listen that the one of the leading candidates from the south west will struggle in some states like Lagos, and Ondo state because of the independent mindsets majority there have. In southwest as a whole, majority of the Christians will vote for Peter Obi. So don't be surprised if Peter Obi puts forward a very good show in the south west.

So after the all warnings peter obi can still go church to campaign? Don't tell me that anyone can go church he Peter obi was invited where is the invitation letter did peter attend last year Shiloh?

This niggar will not even come third but distance third in the forthcoming election.

It seems you are being pained based on the eruptous shout of joy and recognition he got at Shiloh. Please, start getting use to this, and experience peace. First, he is a Nigerian who has the right to assemble. In a regular assembly, VIPs are always introduced. This has been taking place from time immemorial; so what is the problem with this?
Second, he is a christian. Remember in 2015, Buhari, who was never a christian, visited gatherings of christians where Pastor Adeboye was ministering just to get that 'appearance thing'; nobody complained. If a christian now is attending programs organized by his faith, what crime has he committed? Did he campaign? Is it a crime to get introduced and recognized?
By the way, I thought someof you were peddling the rumour that he was ignored? After the initial propaganda failed to fly, you guys have no choice than to come out and openly express your painment. Sorry!

Two factors would largely detremine the voting blocs for this coiming elections: R and E. Figure them out.

This is beyond social media, guy! This election has a new voting block which people would not want to talk about for political correctness: religion, youth demography, and the non-political elites.
I can guarantee you that at least 80% of the Peter Obi's religion would go for him irrespective of geographical location, he has the large chunk of the votes of the youth irrespective of geographical location.
So, smel the reality! The rest of the three leading candidates will share the votes from their religion. Peter Obi clearly has a good edge in this race, forget the previuos ways of analysing the voting bloc!

There is no advantage. Your application would be treated just as everyone else.
A US grad degree as no influence on job search. It is still from outside the country and no difference from a post grad from UK or anywhere else.
A US first degree in a regulated profession would have made it abit easy in passing qualifying exams due to similar curriculum and learning standards.

Thanks for your response.

Warm greetings to everyone in here. I will be concluding my graduate program in the United States next year and I am planning to immigrate to Canada with my family who are on F2 Visa. The procedures for the Express Entry program and Comprehensive Ranking System are well understood, as I already know my approximate point( 443- with spouse). My inquiry bothers on being able to use the Retirement Savings Account (Pension) as Proof of Funds(POF). Yes, I understand that answers might have been provided to this similar question before now, but I want to if one can still use it even if the twenty-five percent benefit had already been applied for and received by the account holder. I have received mine already; so , I want to know if it is still possible to use it as a POF notwithstanding the nonavailability of the twenty-five percent any longer.

Again, is there any advantage of being a U.S resident(non-immigrant F1 visa holder) in the whole application process? Also, does having a graduate degree from the United States have any 'influence' in job search?
