Greetings to everyone in here. A fundamental question was asked in one of the pages of this thread about being able to work as a student and also about Estonian Government policy on staying behind after graduation; no succinct response was made to this effect(probably I didn't see or read the response that was provided ).I will like to ask the question again: is there any chance of staying behind for a specified period of time, just like it is being done in Germany, for the international students?

Anyone on this?

Hi everyone, I want to find out about the following:
1. The implication of funding the blocked account before the interview. Is there any negative or positive implication?
2. The implication of funding above the blocked amount.

I will be very glad to get responses especially from the veterans. Thanks.

People in the know should please answer these questions.I was about making a similar enquiry before I saw this.

To be candid, it appears as if the German Government has started doing all it can to reduce the "influx" of international students into their country. ..... na for guy to go hustle "Raba" in order to meet up with these new financial obligations in Summer cos these additional expenses no be for here....All is well.

The news about increment in blocked account funding is damn real. I just went to DB's FB page and asked them the golden question and the bombshell was released.Check out their reply:" Good morning **********,

The costs for living in Germany increases for the new semester German Embassy will request 8640 EUR per year and 720 EUR per month. You canĀ“t find this Information on Deutsche Bank website, because it is a guideline form the German Embassy.

Hope this is of help to you. Have a nice day.

Kind regards, Your Social Media Team"

One should now brace up for approximately 2.8Milla! The truth is that this is not the best of time for 2016 winter applicants. All must be well.

my bros. .help
I have got admission into two schools : Honschule Ravensburg Weingarten(M.Eng) and University of Rostock (M.Sc). All for Electrical Engineering. The former is in the South while the latter is in the North.

I need a constructive advice that would help me make a decision. I heard Rostock has a high unemployment rate and need a lot of german to get by.

Thanks

Congrats on your admissions, bro! I also gained admission into University of Rostock; same course of study(M.Sc Electrical Engineering). The comments so far about Rostock as regards high unemployment rate calls for a bit of concern sha.UniRostock is my second most preferred school;UniSiegen(M.Sc Mechatronics) really rocks for me (still expecting their notice of admission though).Let's relate on this UniRostock thing.Hope you have applied, online, for a hostel accommodation?

@Jbadmus, seems we are sailing through same application. I applied to Rostock as well but sent my documents 10th of may but this people sef have not mailed to acknowledge receipt of my parcel.

did they mail you when they got your your documents?

I sent my application documents in the first week of February. Rostock did not not send any acknowledgement mail of receipt to me but I knew my documents got there because two sets of application documents were sent the same time and I received a feedback response from UniSeigen. As regards UniDortmund(M.Sc Embedded Systems in Mechatronics), if you don't have a TOEFL,IELTS or other language result, then forget it! They don't reckon with Letter of English Language Proficiency issued by ones school or Ministry of Education.
On UniRostock, their application deadline is 15th of July,so your document will definitely get there before then. They will only notify you of your admission status.

Good Afternoon.

Please is there anyone here that applied for M.Sc. study in Embedded System for Mechatronics in Dortmund University of Applied Science and Art? .

Am just curious as their pre-check is taking forever (over one month). want to know if am not the only one facing this.

Thanks.

Hmmmm... they will still get back to you. I sent my pre-check documents to them on the 8th of February,2016 and got a feedback from them on the 16th of April,2016. I was informed to provide a proof of English Language skill which was never part of the initial requirements. Seeing this , I replied them that it was clearly stated on the application page of M.SC(Embedded System for Mechatronics) that an applicant whose bachelors programme was completed in English Language need not provide such a proof. The programme coordinator made me to understand, from his reply, that the particular statement I quoted was no longer valid. My application was turned down on this premise. So, chill, they will still send you a mail but be ready to supply information about your English language skill.

I just applied today, and I have been invited for assessment in Lagos tomorrow.
Please how real is it?

You probably fulfilled these three conditions: chose Ibadan center, reside in Oyo state and have the address of a town/city in Oyo state in your Cv.Same applies to all the mentioned centres that fall under South West.

Dunno much abt Mechatronics other than we are in same faculty and it is dominated by the indians.
Abt 95% of the class. I could get other info from friends I have there if the need arises. Use the school website for first hand info in case any change.

The school
Pretty old school wit top noch professors.
Has about 4 campus but Mechatronics dept is located in d main campus. Adolf-Reichwein.
Has reasonable number of blacks of which 4 in every 5 are Cameroonians.

Cost of living depends solely on the individual.
You could get a good accommodation between 220 and 300 euros.
In terms of monthly expenses roughly 60 - 100 euros per month. So in all 400 - 450 as a rough estimate (health insurance inclusive) should be ok for a month.

Siegen is a busy and boring city but you could make it lively doh. grin

Presence of industrial firms: yes

Jobs: well I don't much abt this at the moment as I opted not to get one for now. Last I heard from a friend who searched for one, d school office in charge of jobs informed him, it would be hard to find a good 1 without knowing d language except menial jobs like washing plates..lol, kitchen jobs. No need to panic though, met a couple of pple who declined dat info as they are working already. You need to learn the language though cos pple here are stingy to speak English even if they know it.

That's all...wish you all the best in ur admission process.

Many thanks, bro, for all the information you reeled out. I will definitely learn German before making a move; not primarily because of getting a job immediately but for a better "integration" into the community, even as a student. I will be grateful if you could help gather a bit of information from that friend of yours in Mechatronics about some "unwritten" useful piece about the course which may be handy in hitting the ground running, though I have downloaded the course contents.Once again, thanks a bunch for taking out time to reply.

Yea bro...Wat do u need to know?
Whao! It's nice having you around, bro.I have a lot enquries to make concerning the course (Mechatronics), the School itself, City of Siegen(presence of industrial firm, general cost of living as compared to other cities, how busy it is in terms of commercial activities, etc), availability of part-time jobs for students, among others.
I have made a good deal of research online about the school and my intended course from daad.de and some other sites but I believe that having a firsthand information from someone who is there already will not be a bad idea.If you wouldn't mind, I shall be getting in touch with you, when necessary, to get needed information as regards the application process.
