humanshado: Thanks for your response Humanshado. My transcript has these fundamental subjects listed and I agree with your interpretation of the mail from EA. however, to be double sure (so as not to throw money down the drain), I will wait for their response to my mail. Thanks again! 1 Like |

chuckdee13: Thanks for your response. If indeed this is the case, it is certainly a game changer for me then - and probably not a very good one. My reasons are (1) Writing a career episode using my BSc engineering degree alone will be tough. If I eventually manage to write the career episode based on my project and Industrail attachment (IT) experience, I do not have documentary evidence of my IT employment (I doubt the company still exists). (2) Yes, I need to claim points for my work experience, except I get the maximum points from IELTS which will then give me the exact 60 points required. I think I would send EA an email outlining these concerns. But in the meantime, what do you suggest I do? |

chuckdee13: Chuckdee13, I have a few questions based on your comment. My BSc (electrical engineering) & MSc (Industrial environmental mgt) are not in anyway related and I have no work experience with my BSc. I have nominated an occupation (industrial engineer) which is closely related to what I do in my current employment (I have been in employment for over 4 years). Do you think I can get a positive assessment from EA if my CDR including CPD and Career Episodes are based entirely on work experience in my current role, and have nothing to do with electrical engineering? I had thought I could go ahead with writing my CDR with my work experience ONLY. I assume as long as I have a BSc in engineering, I can base my CDR on any work experience closely related to the occupation I nominated. This is quite confusing I must say. |

humanshado: Thank you so much Humanshado...you have really taken out time to explain the steps. I truly appreciate your help. As adviced, I will use the Fast Track method. Honestly, it wasn't even an option till I read your comments. To write my CDR, I will use my MSc dissertation as one example and the other two will be based on projects I have worked on that relate to the profession I nominated. Thanks again! |

bellong: Thanks For clarifying this Bellong. On your response to point (2), how then will unknown what summary statement I should download and fill out? Apologies if it seems I am going round in circles. |

bellong:Thanks for the prompt response Bellong...much appreciated! Just to be sure- you mean I should go for the CDR+Relevant skilled employment assessment $1030($AUD), right? Lastly, I am aware that I must download and complete an appropriate summary statement. How would I know whether I should be applying for an assessment as a Professional Engr., Engineering Technologist or Engineering Associate? Thanks in anticipation of your response. |

humanshado: I will need further clarity on how to attain maximum points. I have a BSc in Engineering from Nigeria (with no work experience) and an MSc in Environmental Mgt from the UK (with 5 years work experience in Process Safety/oil & gas). Please note that I will be applying for an Independent Points Tested Visa (189). As a preference, I want to nominate ANZSCO 233511 (Industrial Engineer) from the Skilled Occupation List because I have accrued substantial work experience in this field. So, to get maximum points, do you advice I also get an assessment (via EA) for my relevant work experience? Or what is my best option? |

hi, can anyone please help with my enquiry? Does the Engineering Assessment (EA) evaluate qualification and work experience, or just one of the two? I have read through the thread but still can't get my head around it. Thanks. |

Preparatory materials I used for the IELTS exam were all web-based. They include (1) IELTS Buddy (2) Liz IELTS (3) The British Council online materials. All the best! 1 Like |

Good morning All. I intend retaking my IELTS exam because my last score (8.5/8.5/8.5/6.5) dropped my CRS score by approximately 60 marks my question is; (1) Since my WES evaluation is ready, can I create my EE profile with my current IELTS score and then update my profile once I retake my IELTS? |

Thanks Ekpekus. I had suspected te provisional nomination will be the next route to get a higher CRS. Can you she's more light on this? How do I go about it? Apologies if I am taking the thread back, but it's because I am new to the process. Cheers. 1 Like |

Thanks to everyone who took out time to reply to my enquiry. Much appreciated. I got my IELTS results about 8 weeks ago, so I have now missed the 6 weeks stipulates time to request a remark. I will have to retake the test again in the coming month, sadly. Are there any suggestions to how I can further boost my CRS score? I read about the possibilities of getting provisional nomination. Can anyone please share any information on that. Thanks. |

Hello all, I'm new to this thread and I must admit I have found a lot of the info very useful. Thank you. I am also new to the Canada Immigration Process and I have quite a number of questions. I am waiting for my WES evaluation and in the meantime, I calculated my CRS score using an online tool. To my surprise it came back with a total of 393. I strongly believe I haven't input all the details required and probably missed a chunk of my points. Can anyone help with a rough estimate of my CRS score? Below is a summary of my details; IELTS Results; S-8.5, R-8.5, L-8.5, W-6.5. Total Band Score = 8 Highest Degree qualification - MSc. 5 years work experience in Engineering/oil & gas No family or relatives in Canada Single Age 34 No Canadian job offer (yet) Please let me know if you require any other information to help with my inquiry. Thanks |
