Olamide leads the nomination table this year with 8 nods including – Best Pop single, Rap Album, Best Collaboration (twice), Best Street-Hop Artiste, Album of the Year, Artiste of the Year, and Song of the Year.

Following Olamide closely is Wizkid, who has seven nominations in Recording of the Year, Best RnB/Pop Album, Best Pop Single, Best Collabo, Album of the Year, Artiste of the year, and Song of the Year.

An upcoming singer, Olowu Taiwo aka LT. has said that rapper, Olamide stole the popular ‘Shakiti Bobo’ dance moves from him. LT made this assertion during an interview with HIP TV, monitored by Vanguard Newspaper. In his words, “After I did my video, a friend of mine told me the dance I did in the video (Yobo dance) was trending on Instagram by Olamide. And my friend told me he had already told someone who is in Olamide’s crew about the dance. I released the audio version of my own song on 22nd April, 2015, and Olamide released his own song on 2nd May. During that time, I was working on my viral video which I released on 6th May. It wasn’t up to 24 hours after that, I saw ‘Shakiti Bobo.’ I was like, what’s going on; why is this happening at this particular time. I’m not here to point fingers that someone stole my dance moves, but I feel it’s not cool for you to do something that you knew about from someone else, and pick it up as your own.” Meanwhile, when a call was put through to Olamide’s manager, Alex, to react to the story, he hung up the phone, and other attempts to reach him proved abortive.

Many have been saying APC and PDP are the same party with different or the same people more or less.

Lagos state governor, Babatunde Fashola however see a difference between the two parties. He identified that PDP is designed to tackle 1999 problems while APC is designed to address 2015 issues.

He said during an APC meeting with organized private sector at Marina, Lagos on Monday February 2nd,

“The manifesto of the APC is designed to address 2015 problems going on to 2019 while PDP has is a 1999 manifesto and that probably explains the disconnect between our realities and the realities that you hear. The transformation that has been put forth has headed south not west. The Naira has weakened, interest rates has come up and it is for us to chose whether we want four more years of that and the Naira is essential in a free fall in an economy that is currently import denominated and it would only mean that the purchasing power of our disposable income would continue to reduce.”

The Nigerian military released pictures of tanks, artillery guns and first aid medical tools recuperated from Boko Haram insurgents by the Civilian-JTF and troops when they repelled terrorists from Maiduguri, Borno State capital.

According to officials Nigerian troops yesterday, January 26th, were fully in control of Maiduguri and Konduga, the two cities Boko Haram attacked in the early hours of Sunday, noticing that the battle continued into the early hours of yesterday.

Kano Hisbah Command has scuttled ‘wedding’ of two men in their twenties and detained the groom.
The Commander, Hisbah Sharia Guard, Sheik Aminu Daurawa told reporters in Kano that the bride in the illegal union was at large.
Daurawa, while parading the suspected groom, Faruk Maiduguri alongside fourteen others that were at the venue of the botched event, said that the Sharia Corp acted on intelligence report.
Daurawa revealed that operatives of the Hisbah swooped on the men at a recreational resort in Dawakin Kudu local government area.
