I thought the misery network problems will end anytime soon but no, it's been going on for almost 4/5 months now and no end in sight. It's either I hear my caller but they can't hear me or the other way round. I can attempt a simple call for up to 3/4 times before getting a clear communication,yet you charge me for every unsuccessful call.

The network literally turn my wife and I to a one way communication traffic, when she call, she will tell me all she has to and add I know you can hear me but I can't, just listen carefully

No compensation for the inconveniences caused nor acknowledgment of this glitch, many people in my area are going through this same ordeal ( Alimosho, Lagos). Who else is experiencing this network problems?

The message sent to me was clear, I have free night sub for watching videos on YouTube, Why should they be deducting from my data balance then? I am on a visit to a friend house in Lagos, MTN is the only good network in the area, after my terrible experience with weekly sub on MTN, I decided to start doing strictly monthly sub on MTN.

So I did #1500 sub on MTN, and I was giving a free Youtube night sub. Before sleeping, I decided to check out some videos on YouTube.

As I dey watch the videos, something dey tell me make I check my data, after checking I was shock MTN was deducting my normal monthly subscription instead of deducting from the YouTube night sub.

I won't lie, this country matter don tire me. This is nothing but robbery by MTN. I have the plans of writing NCC. Please do I have a case?

I'm so pissed off with this country, nothing seems to be working. If I no get the free night youtube subs, I go know for my mind say nah my data I wan use, but you tell me say I get free Youtube sub, yet you're still deducting from my data undecided Ayam not understanding this at all.

Hi edoairways, there is 4G network band 7 and 20 available on MTN. Your device should have either of it and you will be able to enjoy 4G network any where in Nigeria.

I'm on MTN Beta Talk and I've been having issues with the billing on my plan. Since last month, I noticed that I'm being billed from my main account instead of my bonus account, even after the first 60 seconds of the day. I equally noticed that some times, the billing is arbitrarily done (on both main and bonus) in one call. Also, I noticed that whenever I make long calls, the billing is on my main account instead of my bonus account (and this should not be so, since the first 60 seconds of the day has been billed and I still have money in my bonus account).

I've complained several times to customer care and each time they tell me that the issue will be "escalated" to the technical department but the issue keeps repeating itself on a daily basis. It's become pretty annoying because I don't see the reason why I will have money in my bonus account and still be billed from my main account. What then is the essence of me being on Beta Talk?

Please do something about this asap.

Hi Daaz, I am really sorry for the delayed response. Normally, the Betatalk billing on your first 60seconds call is made from the main airtime, from the second minutes, billing continues from the betatalk bonus. However, this will be looked into. No, I'm on MTN Pulse. The midnight data plan is only available on MTN Pulse.

I lost almost not less than 300mb data.

The way they deduct the data is ambiguous. From my calculations, all what I've downloaded isn't more than 400mb; just 6 videos that are an average of 40mb. Then I updated three apps from playstore; 9mb, 12mb and 22mb.

But look, I have just 500mb left. This is freaking crazy.

MTN have been sending me messages to upgrade my SIM card to 4G. I've been using the SIM card since 2009. So I went to MTN office today with all the necessary documents. I was asked to do photocopies before I enter the office, and I do it.
When I enter, a man attended to me, I gave him all the documents he ask for, and he verified all the informations are correct. Then he later told me that the personal unblocking key (PUK) on my SIM pack is not correct. I told him that's the PUK that came with the SIM card when I did the welcome back some years ago. And by the way, I came here to upgrade to 4G because of the continuous messages from MTN everyday, I didn't lost my SIM card. But he still refuse to upgrade the SIM card for me. He told me that I have to go to the court and do affidavit of the SIM card before he can attend to me. I was really angry. How can I do affidavit for a SIM card that I didn't lost? The other customer care workers were just busy gisting and laughing loudly. And I was even hearing they will collect #1,000 for the upgrading.

So I left angrily and went to a road side shop that sells and registers SIM card. I told the guy that I want to upgrade my MTN SIM to 4G. He told me that he can do it but I will pay #1,000. But we later agree on #500. I gave him all the informations needed, and he was able to upgrade the SIM card just within some minutes. After 30 minutes, I input the new SIM card and it has been activated to 4G. I was given 10GB instantly. I even put on my phone hotspot for the guy to connect his WiFi to connect and download, because I can't finish 10GB within 7 days.

I've been wondering if that man at MTN office is incompetent. Or maybe he doesn't know how to upgrade a SIM card or maybe he's just lazy?

When I dial the *556# code to check balance, I see Main bal: #***, Airtime: #***, Data:***
But when I do not have enough on the main bal and have over 1000 on airtime, I can't still make calls or buy data. Why is that?

Also the last time I recharged, the money entered the airtime account instead of main balance and as a result I couldn't use the money. Please how can this be resolved?

Hi, sorry for the delayed response. The free incoming call can be used while roaming your line in eligible destination country. Your line will not be billed receiving calls.

I say make I check my data, they deducted my main data of 4gb was now 207mb.. they just deducted Less than10 mb from the nigh night plan

the thing has happened to me twice.


have stopped using mtn for night plan, Glo is better for night plan you can do it for as long as you want..


I don't know if you are also experiencing this when you have below 30mb left you cannot use it again to browse so it become theirs
