You never know. Pay a visit to the TEF thread and see if it’s something you might be interested in. Or better still, download Duolingo and try it for a week. okehsmiley: 1 Like 1 Share |

It depends on the individual. First you have to be willing to learn the language. Secondly, do you Iike group classes or private sessions? I started learning French off and on since 2013 but finally focused on it properly last year and attained a B2 level here in Lagos. This year for my TEF I studied past questions from YouTube, attended the classes at Alliance and ALSO had a private teacher. I wrote every single day and ensured it was proofread. So if you’re a beginner your timeline could be 6-12 months. It may be faster for some people. If you're intermediary then maybe 3-6 months for TEF. Hope that was helpful. Pwinkle1: 5 Likes |

I had the same issue and called them immediately. If using an actual scanner still does not work, call them. Check their website for the contact details. Wehinmi: |

I know I’ll still come back and give my final story but let me start with IELTS first. 1ST IELTS: 01 NOV 2018 LRWS: 7.5, 9, 6.5, 8.5. 2ND IELTS: 05 JAN 2019 LRWS: 8.5, 6, 7, 7.5. 3RD IELTS: 09 FEB 2019 LRWS: 8.5, 7, 6.5, 8.5. 4TH IELTS: 20 SEP 2019 LRWS: 8.5, 8.5, 7, 8.5 Finally got the perfect score I needed for my ielts!!!! When I started this journey I had no idea about this thread or what I was really doing. I just knew one had to write ielts, and you can apply for EE. I practiced for the first one only a week before my exam, and had I known I might have remarked. The second time I wrote it, I practiced a lot with Jay, and ieltsliz. I remember going into the exam hall feeling overly Cocky like I had a cheat sheet or something, and that definitely affected my reading score. The third time I wrote it with BC I was much more sober but didn’t get the score I needed. I requested for a remark but the score didn’t change. The fourth time, I found Johnnybravo on NL and immediately contacted him about my writing 3 days to my exam. He was meticulous, and ensured that he took me through each part of task 1 and 2. I’m certain that because of The Lord, and him I was able to attain the perfect score I got in writing because that was my weakest part, and what kept holding me back. Anyone who has issues with their writing should please reach out to him. He is extremely good! My Tips: Speaking: I like to talk so it’s quite easy for me to go on and on but I also practiced everyday for at least ten minutes on different topics, and recorded myself. If you’re stumped on topics to talk about, check out for podcasts on different topics that can help your vocabulary. Listening: I did about four exercises each day, and became used to listening attentively. Practice without earphones and with just to be more comfortable. I downloaded the Cambridge 2-13 books from page 1 or so and it was extremely helpful. Writing: contact Johnnybravo. He’s the best really. Reading: I’ve always loved reading. I read novels, fiction, and anything really. I started reading The Economist just to get used to different words. Just ensure you time yourself, and use the answers behind the textbook to correct yourself where you make mistakes. I also used IELTSLIZ for this part especially the true/false section. On a final note, please practice everyday. Go into the exam hall confident, and sure of yourself. May we all get our hearts desires. 37 Likes 2 Shares |

Dinma27: Lol. My teacher is no longer in the country, sadly. I hear there are really good teachers at Alliance Francaise and they would know more about the TEF preparation than any random teacher. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Mamaroon: Very true. No spouse though so maybe that’s why it’s very high. And also below 30. Over cross checked and was just worried for nothing I guess. Thank you so much for your advice. When is your result going to be ready? |

Denov: Hi Denov. Sorry if I am not replying properly. I’m new on this forum. My French is pretty good. I had a personal teacher for almost a year and that got me to A2 level but he left the country and then I just continued reading and practicing on my own. I’m on a C1 level for speaking and listening and about B1 level for reading and writing, but only because I hardly use it. I will advise you go to the TEF forum created here and also attend classes at Alliance Française. Self study can be quite daunting because you don’t know if you’re right or not. Or you could also try “Lingoda”. I love the language so it was easier for me to learn it. I hope I was helpful. 7 Likes 3 Shares |

Good evening everyone. I am a silent reader here and I have learnt so much. I have a question please. I wrote TEF not long ago and my results were very high. Now, if I put French (TEF) as my 1st language and English (IELTS) as my 2nd language, my CRS score comes to 490. However, if I put English as my 1st language and French as my 2nd language, my CRS score drops to 445. Will it be an issue if I put French as my first language seeing as I am a Nigerian and English is our first language here? Or it does not matter which I put as my 1st language? I am worried I might be asked to prove something. Awaiting anyone's response, please. Thank you. 5 Likes 2 Shares |
