Nairaland / General / Spread The Love And Stop The Stigma by Joannebassey: 9:56am On Feb 22
"My friends told me that if I touch him, I will also be blind, but now I know that it's not true." These were the heartfelt words shared by a young boy during a school donation event. The donation specifically benefited visually impaired children, aligning with their broader goals of fostering inclusivity and breaking down societal barriers. What made this initiative even more impactful was the heartwarming interaction that unfolded when children without disabilities merged and played with their visually impaired peers. The love and joy shared among them were clear indications of breaking down the societal stigma that hinders children with special needs from aiming high.

In this season of love, let's make it a point to extend our giving and compassion to those who are often overlooked in society. It's a beautiful opportunity to spread love and halt the stigma surrounding various aspects of life. Whether it's helping the homeless, offering support to individuals battling mental health challenges, or embracing and empowering those with disabilities, let our acts of kindness be a testament to the universal nature of love. Breaking down societal stigmas will pave the way for a more inclusive and understanding community. During this difficult economic situation, as much as you can, go beyond traditional expressions of love and actively work to create a world where everyone feels seen, valued, and loved. 💖✨

Career / Direct-selling Industry Insights by Joannebassey: 12:14pm On Jul 28, 2023
Direct selling is such a genuine business opportunity. However, most people either don’t know what it is or how it is a business opportunity; some are already in the business but unaware that they are involved. Firstly, direct selling is a business model where products or services are marketed and sold directly to consumers by independent representatives or distributors outside of a traditional retail setting. This simply means that, instead of going to a supermarket to buy a product, you can stay in the comfort of your home and order it through a distributor. It's mostly done with products that are not easily accessible.

Direct selling offers individuals a unique opportunity to start their businesses with low startup costs and flexible working hours. You can choose the products or services you want to promote and sell as a direct seller. You build personal customer relationships, providing product information and offering personalized recommendations. Direct selling allows you to earn income through commissions and bonuses based on your sales. It's a business opportunity that offers the potential for financial independence, personal growth, and the chance to be your boss and achieve success on your terms.

Politics / The New Nigerian Government’s Stance On Fuel Subsidy by Joannebassey: 1:48pm On Jun 05, 2023
For almost a week now, Nigerians have had to deal with the consequences of the President’s stance on removing fuel subsidy. We’ve seen the spike in prices of many things; at this point, we see how interrelated everything is in Nigeria. While this decision aims to alleviate the financial burden on the government and promote a more sustainable energy sector, it has also sparked diverse opinions within the Nigerian populace, with some expressing concerns about the potential impact on the cost of living. In contrast, others see it as a necessary step towards long-term economic growth and development.

My prayer and hope is that we are able to adjust to this as soon as possible and make the good out of this situation. Hopefully, we can better understand this fuel subsidy stance implications and potential benefits.

Family / Parenting In The Digital Age by Joannebassey: 9:32am On Apr 21, 2023
Technology is a necessary evil for a parent, and as a parent in this digital age, I have a love-hate relationship with technology. Sure, it's convenient to buy things online, communicate with others, entertain yourself, and even work; it can also be a real pain in the neck.

Case in point: this morning, my toddler was screaming her lungs out because I didn’t let her watch Baby Shark, as I felt I needed to reduce her screen time and engage her some other way, like with her toys for learning, but this girl wasn’t having it. It can be quite easy for parents to be sucked into always engaging their little ones with these electronic gadgets, but it's important to find a balance and incorporate the way our parents who didn’t have these gadgets engaged us with them.

Business / Opportunities QNET Offers by Joannebassey: 8:35am On Mar 15, 2023
QNET is a worldwide direct selling and e-commerce company that has operated a successful business for over two decades. The direct selling business is a retail channel that top global brands and entrepreneurial companies use for marketing products and services to consumers. This is one of the opportunities that QNET offers.

Direct selling is a platform for entrepreneurs to build businesses, but most importantly, as a channel through which quality products are delivered to consumers. To earn with direct selling, you have to sell products. So when you use and enjoy their products, you refer others to purchase them and earn a commission when the sale is made.

QNET is also involved in financial literacy among young people. Their signature financial literacy programme, FinGreen, is another opportunity QNET offers, this time for young people to equip themselves with financial knowledge and entrepreneurial and employability skills. The skills gained from this programme allow youths to protect themselves against fraudulent acts, develop saving and budgeting habits, and develop skills to help them grow their business or be a model employee.

These opportunities offered by QNET are solely aimed at assisting people to acquire financial independence, which will help boost the country’s economy in the long run.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Job Offer In Port Harcourt Is It A Scam ? HELP by Joannebassey: 2:06pm On Feb 22, 2023
There is no doubt that this is a fake job offer. But it seems like you haven't contacted the company directly to learn more about them or the supposed job. Have you checked their website or Facebook, or LinkedIn for vacancies? If there isn’t any of this type of job offer, then you know for sure that there is no truth to these job ads.

Our best defence against these scammers is to conduct proper research when we see job offers promising heaven and earth. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Make sure you find out the company's real name, its location, and the opportunity they're offering before getting involved. Also, warn friends and family members who might be getting similar scam offers.

Jobs/Vacancies / Are QNET And Qnet Infinity Millennials The Same? by Joannebassey: 9:53am On Jan 25, 2023
Has anyone noticed that the alleged officials are said to belong to the Qnet Infinity Millennial of Nigeria? As far as I know, QNET is simply identified as QNET; and if there has been a change in name or addition of a name, I’m sure they’ll make it known as they’ve done in previous times when there have been name changes.

I’m not one to believe just anything, so I’ve done my research. Apparently, these groups of people who refer to themselves as Infinity Millenials of Nigeria are not company employees; instead, they are registered distributors who conduct sales of QNET products under the company’s policy. However, these are now offering employment opportunities on behalf of the company and requesting vast amounts of money in exchange for jobs or a quick way to JAPA.

In this age of technology, it is effortless to confirm things, no one accepts an interview or job offer without conducting due research, so in my opinion, it is pretty easy to know that these infinity millennial people are not QNET itself. The earlier we can distinguish legit QNET officials from fraudsters, the better it'll be for everyone, and falling victim to such schemes can be avoided.

Travel / Re: Need Traveling Advice To Cotonou by Joannebassey: 4:49pm On Jan 20, 2023
Unfortunately, social media allows people to say anything without repercussion since everyone is protected by being anonymous. However, we still need to get our facts straight before accusing an entity of something they have no business with. It's easy to point fingers, but for all you know, they could very well be victims of these scammers and are bleeding from the activities of these criminals. It would be wise to refrain from allowing these scammers to give us the job of discrediting a company through the comments we make, thereby contributing to the downfall of a very legitimate company. Clicking on the https://www.qbuzz.qnet.net/rumours-controversies-and-is-it-a-scam-question/ link will further dispel any doubts you have about the company.

Business / Re: Nigerian Youth Like Money, But Do We Go About It The Wise Way? by Joannebassey: 9:45pm On Dec 25, 2022
Haleemahummar:
Everyone agrees that money is significant in our lives. Money is a legal tender, and it makes the world go round. Financial Literacy is the ability to make, manage and multiply money. It is the machinery for every economy; with it, some thrive, and others don't. You can only tell the physical difference between the rich and the poor by the amount of money they have.

Most of us want to travel to oyibo land for greener pastures, but what are they doing right that we are not? For me, I think it's Financial Literacy. We are eager to make money, spend it all on expensive things to gain certain social status, and get broke, and the cycle continues until we die. We are just bad at managing our finances.

Whether we know it or not, from our political leaders to parents to individual youth, financial literacy knowledge is as necessary as the singular act of making money.
Business / Re: Nigerian Youth Like Money, But Do We Go About It The Wise Way? by Joannebassey: 9:43pm On Dec 25, 2022
I recently heard that QNET has embarked on a financial literacy programme for young people in Nigeria called FINGREEN (I saw it on social media). However, I did not get the opportunity to participate because I was told the slot was for just 20 people. My understanding of the initiative, as explained by a friend who attended, was that they aimed to train about 6,000 young people in Nigeria on Financial Literacy.
Since this was a pilot, they trained 20 participants who were mandated to carry out individual peer-to-peer training in their communities. So far, about 600 young people in Lagos, Ogun, Osun, and Oyo states have benefited from this.

Imagine this goes viral, and they can achieve their aim, which means our youth and some of us here will get literate on making and keeping money and not falling victim to scams and fraud in Nigeria. Imagine all 6,000 people know how to save, work with a budget, use credit cards wisely etc. Omo, our lives will be much better and more well-organized.

Business / Qnet’s Codes Of Conduct by Joannebassey: 6:04am On Dec 11, 2022
Every business’ code of conduct covers major legal, ethical, and compliance risk areas, to which the company has to adhere. These principles guide workers to conduct themselves with honesty and integrity in every action taken in the company's name. This is the same with QNET as a company.

QNET is a company guided by Integrity, Service, Leadership, and Sustainability. The company upholds these values in their operations and is committed to working with reputable business partners who demonstrate the same dedication to ethical business standards and practices. Integrity, in particular, is QNET ’s most revered principle of the brand and has enabled its success in complex and demanding markets.
Learn more about this by visiting www.QNET.net; further information on this can be read on the company's website under codes of conduct. It is essential to read this so you can be clear on the kind of company QNET is, and this, by extension, will help us quickly identify those who do not adhere to these conducts and end up staining the name of the company.

Crime / Re: Qnet Scam: The Scourge Destroying Nigerian Youths by Joannebassey: 10:41am On Nov 14, 2022
I have encountered QNET before and I am not ashamed to say so.
QNET is one of Asia's leading e-commerce-based direct-selling companies offering a wide range of health, wellness, and lifestyle products that enable people to lead better lives. QNET's grass-roots business model, fuelled by the power of e-commerce, has helped empower millions of entrepreneurs in more than 100 countries worldwide.
The direct selling business model is where Independent Representatives or distributors sell a company’s products or services directly to consumers and not at retail stores. They might do this online or by having parties in their homes to discuss the benefits of the products with family and friends, there is no fixed retail location.
The MLM model on the other hand is where independent contractors sell a company’s products or services directly to consumers, too. However, the key difference is that, with MLMs, independent contractors also make money from recruiting others to work for the company. This is what QNET is NOT.
At QNET, these distributors are known as Independent Representatives (IRs) and are not employees of the company, instead, they are individual business-minded people who buy products from QNET online and refer people to buy the same products or more from the QNET e-commerce platform. Once the referred people buy the products and become customers, QNET pays the IR who referred them a commission for it. Additionally, these customers can choose to become IRs of QNET or not.
Even if you did not understand my post, please go home with this, that; Direct sales companies generate revenue by their salespeople selling products. Multi-level marketing (MLM) companies generate revenue primarily by getting people to sign up for the business. Not every direct sale company is an MLM, and QNET certainly isn't one.

McCprian:
Well I've been a victim and I've seen how convincing this people can be. People bring their friends, families, loved ones, spouse etc. So it's no surprise if you see a trusted person calling you to join. The teaching there is to first bring those that trust you and care for you, so he/she has been brainwashed/convinced into thinking they're doing the right thing and are only bringing people to help them. They're good trainers, teachers and psychologists at what they do.
Often times I saw it (the qnet business) as a religion. One thing about religion is that it's capable of making you do something bad against your own good conscience or humanity.

People there were deceived into thinking they were coming for a ethical job offer. 2-3 days later b4 you realize what you're into. Most of these 'innocent' people borrowed the money from money lenders, micro finance banks, friends, relatives etc.. Some sold their properties to be able to afford the money. Realizing what they've entered, they can't go back empty handed. What do they tell their creditors, their families, banks, relatives. In the end some of them are left with no choice but to deceive others into the 'business'. The remaining others doing the business are doing it because they're convinced [usually by mentors and uplines who have gathered so many downlines over time and now have something substantial (made wealth) to show for it] it's 'legitimate' and a 'life time opportunity' and so the 'game' goes on.

1 scams 2, 2 scams 4, 4 scams 8, 8 scams 16, 16 scams 32... Directly or indirectly you've built a system of scammers under your system, because it's through their deceits you can continue earning from the scheme.

Now to qnet or qi group, it's a direct selling company (realistically a MLM company) that deals in healthcare products and luxury. Truth be told their products are grossly overpriced and over valued. I've used two of their products during my time with them (bio disc 3 and chipendant 4). I'm yet to on my own verify any of the health claims the others occasionally report after using them. I've seen no health benefits from using them despite the fact they say it does this and that.
To register with them (that is to become an independent reseller on their platform) you have to buy a product from them. That's where the person that introduces you to the 'business' or 'job offer' comes into place.

Everyone, especially the youths should be careful out there and should carefully research any job offer before jumping into it no matter how close the person introducing you to the job offer is. I was deceived because of the close relationship I had with the person that brought me into it. I failed to do proper research. I didn't even ask for the name of the company. That's how close I am to the person. Take care

Business / Re: QNET Fingreen Project by Joannebassey: 3:51pm On Aug 26, 2022
I am priviledged to be one of the QNET FinGreen ambassadors this year! I have learnt so much about financial literacy and cannot hold back my joy. To be a part of the QNET FinGreen project, you need to attend one of the community seminars. Let me explain how that works. For the first stage of the project, participants signed up through a call for participation on social media. So individuals such as youth leaders, students leaders, leaders of religious groups, NYSC members, youth trainers and even teachers can benefit from the training and also train other people. Applications are recieved and screened based on experience in training, gender balance, reason for participation, ability to recruit and train atleast twenty other youths. For the pilot phase of the QNET FinGreen project, there were 20 participants. Attendance and training is absolutely free and all participants were given a free training kit and certificate. If you want to know more, you can send an email to: finlitnigeria@gmail.com

Haleemahummar:
A lot of young people in Nigeria do not know how much they spend on a weekly basis. This is because they are ignorant about their finances. Financial literacy is the ability to understand and use various financial skills to make, manage, and multiply money.

This is what the QNET FinGreen Project is all about.

It is a financial literacy program that is aimed at helping young people in Nigeria achieve financial freedom. QNET carried out this project with the help of its partner organisation, Financial Literacy For All. The FinGreen Project is a financial training that teaches young people skills like employability, entrepreneurship, mindset adjustment, and financial literacy.

According to what I heard, the project launched on the 27th of June, 2022 in a big event with twenty young people in Lagos. After the training, the twenty young people were supported as Ambassadors for the FinGreen project. The youths were to train about twenty other young people in their communities on the same skills they learnt during their training. Two hundred young people have been trained already.

These trainings are happening in various locations in Lagos, like Ikeja, Ibeju-Lekki, and Ikorodu. The same trainings have also occurred in Ogun and Oyo states.

orikoku:
Qnet comes to mind. Useless set of people parading as marketers.
If you hear Qnet run ooooo...

QNET does not parade themselves as marketers, it is a direct selling company that offers a wide range of products.
But it's important for us to understand what direct selling even means before we can understand what QNET does.
Here are my thoughts on direct selling:
In a regular sales model, consumers usually buy products when they go to the retail store to get them, they choose what they want, pay for it and leave.

With direct selling though, you don't have to go to the store to buy what you need, products are sold directly to customers at the comfort of their home, online or through non-store locations in a non-retail environment by Independent Representatives, and are driven by word-of-mouth referral.
The Independent Representatives  earn money  through commissions gained from selling a product.
Some of the products sold through direct selling are not usually found in the stores of our neighborhoods, so they have unique features that offer benefits to consumers.
Some companies choose direct selling as a business model, so the company sells directly to the consumers.

Direct selling has been growing based on the relationship between these companies and the consumers for  years. So it's a great way for anyone to earn some extra honest income.
This is simply what QNET is about.
