Most yorubas are bigots anyway education and exposure can't change them only some of them are actually different am not surprised with soyinka response and outburst. How can any sensible person that witnessed what happened during the presidential election still boldly come out to claim apc won that election? Where was soyinka's voice when tinibu's thugs where intimidating and attacking voters in lagos?

Foreign Affairs / Re: ‘Alien Corpses’ Shown To Congress As UFO Expert Forced To Testify Under Oath by JOemmy(m): 2:35pm On Sep 14, 2023
Omoawoke2:

Check Roswell Mexico alien crash.

Read about UFOs landing in Kenya where they met school kids

What happens is that whenever a major UFOs incident occurs, the US government will rush to the scene and gather all evidences and try to make contact.
The question is if it’s fake, why will the US government rush to the scene and try everything to discredit the news.

Any idea why the US govt is vehemently preventing the public from getting any access or knowledge about aliens?

I swear to God, I was 1000% convince of the existence of Aliens after sighting a very unusual phenomenon right in the US, in North Carolina. People that were out were screaming UFOs. I am more than convinced those things I saw has nothing to do with human inventions. It was just like some of those YouTube videos people claim are fake.
The first time i saw something similar was in Lagos some years ago, my dad was the first to see it and he was like what’s this. He called us out to watch and the light just dance around the sky and zoomed off.
UFOs are very very real

Interesting I really wonder why they keep hiding from humans?

Any nigerian that is scared of igbo presidency is just an irredeemable bigot that's even for more unpatriotic than the igbos he is demonizing I honestly don't see any igbo president that will be far worse than buhari's presidency that deeply physically divided nigeria but yet nigerians still tolerated him. This bigot op should explain how a civilian igbo president can singlehandedly divide nigeria without the approval of the national assembly?

Hey boy, hold it there.
I see what you did there.

The fact that your ancestors were primitive and lacked foresight doesn't mean we all share your misfortune. You should read about the great Bini kingdom and see how foolish you sound.

Bini had the Bini Kingdom
We had the Kanem Borno Kingdom in Arewa
We had the Oyo empire
Mention a single city built by your fathers. Just 1.

Others were building empires, your fathers were stealing caps about, you now want to lump my mediocre ancestors with yours as being primitive.
That nonsense won't be tolerated.

Argue from now till thy kingdom come it still doesn't change the fact that ur tribe wasn't anywhere superior to other tribes in nigeria that was colonized by the British if ur so called powerful empire was really powerful ur ancestors wouldn't have been overrunned by the British conquerors almost all the ethnic groups in nigeria have some few history of mediocre exploits but where still inferior to the military strength of the British Empire. For me and to any reasonable african the maximum respect and bragging rights should go to the african tribes that successful fought and stopped the colonial masters which I length were the Ethiopians it's not the bini or yoruba empires that easily crumbled when they were attacked by superior British Empire.

Go and find out about Yoruba attire. It was not influenced by colonization.

It is degrading wearing a winter cap and your chiefs will be smiling like they wore somehting special.
Drop the slave mentality please, it makes the whites look down on us. How will you adopt a winter cap that your slave masters gifted to you. Please have some honor and identity

This is why I hate engaging in bigotry it makes you unreasonable and very stupid how can you see igbos wearing the winter hat that no one even knows it's real origin as degrading but couldn't even communicate or write with ur own yoruba language but yet have to borrow the language of the British colonial masters to be able communicate to the outside world and u don't see that as also degrading? All ur yoruba leaders and those that are anything in ur land were either trained in the white man's land or acquired western skills to be relevant to ur society non was groomed using ur home grown education so why should any reasonable person waste 10 seconds of his life to argue or take u serious here?.

You can create a thread for that. No one is stopping you. This thread is about the red woolly cap worn by ibos.

I don't have the time for that ur post was clearly made to mock igbos that was why u didn't even bother to do a proper research before rushing to post every tribe borrowed one or two things from other tribes to add to theirs in the course of their advancement I don't see anything wrong with that. Almost every tribe in africa were very primitive and uncivilize including urs before the arrival of the British colonial masters so I don't understand ur point of trying to denegrate other tribes to promote urs. The only tribes that truly have any bragging rights are those that were not colonized not ur yoruba tribe OK.

You are right.

The red fez cap that Ibo chiefs wear were originally introduced into Ibo traditional attire by WW1 veterans.

The red fez cap was a standard head gear for the British African Expedition force - an auxillary unit of the allied forces that were deployed not only in WW1 but later in the jungle fronts in Burma in WW2.

Ibo contemporary cultural wear is very recent and dates back to the 1920s to after WW2.

The osigo print was appropriated as cultural wear sometime in the 70s in Ibo meetings outside Ibo land as a cultural uniform of distinction.

Ibo are playing serious catch-up as they had barely any culture prior to British colonial rule

You must be a clown igbo civilization dates back to over 3000yrs ago go to places like igboukwu in anambra and see some igbo artifacts that are thausands of years old. Haven't you even heard of igbo traditional material called akwaete that is still made in igboland till today that's the only material gov.soludo have chosen to be wearing to advertise it to the world?

This thread is seeking clarification on the origin of igbos wearing winter cap as traditional caps. And I am hearing of yaribanza for the first time here on nairaland. But this cap is an identity to the igbos, once you see that red cap, you know it’s igbos.

Even the clothing material is not indigenous to West Africa. So what was the original dressing culture of the igbos before colonization?

Kid go and do ur research about igbos properly before coming to nairaland to post rubbish apart from the so called winter cap igbos also have so many other indigenous clothes and dressing patterns that was developed by them why are you not also questioning the cow boy hat that is worn by the people of the niger delta?
