Then I got admitted to a more reputable abc university ranking 34th in the U.S. Now xyz university is refusing to refund the money paid, stating that there terms and condition for refund is only if visa was refused tho xyz isn't aware of my admission to abc. Please can someone advice me on what to do? $1.5k no bi moi moi cash to forfeit just like that.

my interview was supposed to be today but I was turned back because my barcode from my ds160 and appointment confirmation page is different, please I need help in solving this situation of mine.

I had same issues two weeks ago so I can relate. Firstly you need to apply for an emergency request, which might take a day or two to be approved. Now re-use same NRV receipt number to book the earliest appointment. Make sure you have filled the DS-160 and update the DS-160 number on your profile before scheduling an appointment. I hope this helps.

Hello House,

I was turned back at the entrance because of inconsistent DS160 number on my appointment confirmation. I called U.S customer care and I was asked to get another NRV because I had cancelled earlier on the 5th due to the late arrival of my I-20 form. So I purchased another NRV receipt next day from GTB in other to get an early appointment. Now on the 15th I scheduled an appointment for 19th being approved an emergency request, to my surprise, it turned out that I schedule the appointment with my previous NRV number.

Though my interview went well,
the V.O asked if I had studied in the u.s before, I said NO, also asked if this was my first F1 visa application, I said YES. she said this is strange. VO: I am going to clarify somethings and you should expect an approval mail by tonight.
she then gave me a white paper with a case number written and my I-20 stating I would need it.

Till now I have not gotten any feedback, I have been on AP since the 19th.

Now I have a NRV receipt that has not been used and wondering if this NRV issue could be causing the delay?

Dear LagosNIV,

I was at the Lagos embassy yesterday 19th, Dec. for my interview and I was given a white paper with a case number written.

The VO said I was going to get an approval mail that same evening and have my visa before the weekend, she held back only my Intl. passport. At the moment the CEAC site tracking shows administrative processing and I have not received any emails yet.

I have a booked flight to South Africa on Saturday 23rd, Dec. and need to travel with my passport.

Your advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

I visited the embassy yesterday for my interview (transcript coming) I was given a white paper with a case number written.

The VO said I was going to get an approval mail that same evening and all she had was my Intl. passport. Up-till now CEAC tracking shows its still in administrative processing and I really need my passport because I will be traveling to SA on Saturday.

Has anyone experienced this and have an idea how long it would take

I'm thinking on sending an email to LagosNIV as I seriously need my Intl Passport for a booked flight to South Africa this Saturday? Would this be too forward. I need help here please.

don't trouble yourself, my dear. your visas have been granted.
Most of us experience the same thing. in fact, I logged in and out checking the administrative processing thing like season film.
Expect a text and email after 4 days from them. ignore the website to avoid giving yourself a high BP ooo!!! grin grin grin

Thanks @Kallowdean
