Religion / A Purported Interview With Prophet T.B. Joshua by jpaul5: 1:12am On Jul 26, 2016 |
A Purported Interview With Prophet T.B. Joshua: Journalism Ethics Hang On The Balance A news article dated 23 July 2016 carried a story that wrongfully purports to contain excerpts from an interview with Prophet T.B. Joshua. Other news outlets and blogs thereafter began to refer to the said excerpts (and cite them) in their respective articles. As a journalist who adheres to the ethics and standards of journalism and as a frequent writer about Prophet T.B. Joshua, I sought to contain certain excerpts from the ‘so-called’ interview in my own written piece. However, to ensure credence to my own article, I first inquired whether Prophet T.B. Joshua had indeed recently granted such an interview. To my surprise, after a phone call to Emmanuel TV, I found out that Prophet T.B. Joshua has not granted any interview to any news source and he knows nothing about the contents included in the article containing the excerpts. The purported interview was not within the knowledge of Prophet T.B. Joshua. As a journalist, I deemed it a responsibility to inform journalists as well as readers out there the importance of adhering to journalistic standards. Following the originator of the article, other news sources began to quote the interviewee’s words as though they were from him; whereas the content was not from the so-called interviewee. Whether the content of the purported interview are positive or negative, the interview was categorically not granted by Prophet T.B. Joshua. I seek to remind all journalists the responsibility we each have in the transmission of accurate information to our readers, not only for the sake of accurately informing our readers; but also ensuring that our voices are deemed as credible. The source of the purported interview falsely used words that did not originate from the interviewee, Prophet T.B. Joshua, and therefore it is accurate to say that that news sources and the writer of that article’s credibility is diminished. I seek to clarify that Prophet T.B. Joshua has not granted any interview to any news source and whether the contents of the article are positive or negative, such an interview was not granted. Therefore, any recent news articles that quote or contain excerpts from Prophet T.B. Joshua are false statements. Journalists out there, let us remember the ethics and standards of journalism and our responsibility to our readers. |
Religion / T.b. Joshua Did Not Turn Up At His Pastors Conference In South Korea - Read Why by jpaul5: 4:03pm On Jul 25, 2016 |
Strangely, T.B. Joshua was supposed to have a pastors conference today with pastors and ministers in South Korea. Instead of coming out, he sent evangelists to deliver a message from him. Clearly, he was unhappy with how the organizers planned the events in Korea. Read the message here: IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM PROPHET T.B. JOSHUA Prophet T.B. Joshua sent an important message regarding the worrying behaviour of the way and manner the organizing committee arranged and prepared for this crusade, which in turn restricted many from attending and receiving their miracle at the Friday and Saturday events. “First and foremost, we want you to know that Prophet T.B. Joshua loves the nation and people of Korea. He really has the nation of Korea and people of Korea in his heart and he wants you to know that he is really praying for the nation and people of Korea. But the man of God Prophet T.B. Joshua is a bit worried by the way and manner that the organizing committee arranged and prepared for this crusade. We all witnessed what happened on Friday and Saturday at the Stadium. We saw the healings and deliverance, the wonderful miracles and testimonies in the lives of people who attended the crusade, but we also witnessed the turn out of the people on Friday and Saturday. We saw the healings and deliverance, the wonderful miracles and testimonies in the lives of people who attended the crusade, but we also witnessed the turnout of people on Friday and Saturday compared to that of today at The Pastors’ Conference. Today is a working day, we are in working hours but today we can see how the building is full to capacity and even overflowing yet on Friday and Saturday even though they were not working days, we saw the turnout of the crowd. This is the reason why the prophet is worried about the way things were organized for the crusade. It is clear that there was not enough awareness and advertisement to the people of Korea and in the nation of Korea. Because we were still expecting more people to come, the program began late and time was limited for the Spirit of God to move. The man of God could have done more than what he did but these issues affected him on those two days, the Friday and Saturday of the crusade. This brings us to the question to why would anyone rob Koreans of such blessing, healings and deliverance that were available by the grace of God during the crusade?” https://www.facebook.com/tbjministries/ It is clear that the organising committee made a huge mistake. Perhaps they were collecting money from people before they could attend, which was why the turnout was low. They should ask God for forgiveness because having such a man in your country is a real privilege.

Religion / T.b. Joshua Predicted Isis Attack In Borno by jpaul5: 3:22am On May 13, 2016 |
ISIS has claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing in Maiduguri. It needs to be remembered that last month, T.B. Joshua spoke specifically about a foreign attack in Nigeria, stating that it would not be in a local way but a foreign way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=092K9J1g7qs I take this man's prophecies seriously. Religion / TB JOSHUA: A Burning Passion For God And Mankind by jpaul5: 11:56am On May 03, 2016 |
A Burning Passion For God And Mankind Comrade Timi Frank Religion has always been an integral part of society. Religious ways and creeds have always commanded deep sentiments and reverence from humanity. No society can do without the role of religion and their torchbearers. Many founders and leaders of religious movements have been known to champion the cause of the weak, oppressed and downtrodden in society. Many prophets and priests – irrespective of creed, faith and dogma – have been known to inveigh vehemently against injustice, poverty, and other societal ills perpetuated by secular authorities. The story of intervention by religious leaders in mankind’s darkest hour are legendary. They have been told and retold. Some have intervened to save individuals like the “Good Samaritan” while others have saved whole tribes, communities, and whole generations by standing up for what is good and spoke truth to power at various epochs in the history of humanity’s evolution. Prophets or messengers of God like Moses, Mohammed (May peace be upon him), Zoroaster, Buddah, Jesus Christ, Martin Luther King Jr. etc., have all played pious and no less crucial roles that brought salvation and deliverance to mankind at their own time and place. They often conduct many forms of humanitarian activities, including hospices, rescue homes, and places for the care of the poor and needy. Today, religious organizations have added educational foundations to their activities including the grant of scholarship to brilliant but indigent students among their worshippers. It could be recalled that many religious leaders like Anthony Cardinal Olubunmi Okogie, Bishop Emmanuel Gbonigi, and many others contributed in no small measure to the emancipation of this country from the vice grip of military junta through their fiery criticism and activism. Notwithstanding the potent force for good represented by religious leaders and adherents alike, many still find it easy to deny their benevolent impact on society especially in their native locale. Many contemporary religious founders have been despised, criticized and even vilified by their kith and kin who find it difficult to comprehend their religious gnosis and way of life. A good example of a religious leader who many love to have but has no doubt earned respect and honour both within and outside the shores of this nation is the Founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Pastor Temitope Balogun Joshua, aka TB Joshua. Apart from his religious exploits through diverse healing and miraculous work attributed to him, he has shown himself proved himself as a very compassionate personality through his varied interventions aimed at uplifting the oppressed and down trodden in society. His work has continued to draw commendation from across the globe despite pockets of condemnation at home. However, TB Joshua appears to have successfully transcended the scriptural saying that prophets lack honour in their home. His many award and recognition attest to this assertion. The TB Joshua led SCOAN has been described as “Nigeria’s biggest tourist attraction” and “the most visited destination by religious tourists in West Africa,” with thousands of foreigners flocking to attend the church’s weekly services. Figures released by the Nigerian Immigration Service indicated that six out of every 10 foreign travellers coming into Nigeria are bound for The SCOAN. ThisDay newspapers had reported that “about two million local and inbound tourists” visit The SCOAN annually and that the church’s popularity has led to an increase in flight routes to Lagos from several African countries. Moreover, in 2009, Joshua started a football club – My People FC – as part of efforts to help the youth. Two members of the team reportedly played for Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets in the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup. Apart from his fame which continues to spread like wild fire, Joshua and his ministry have also had their lows characterized by grief and anguish. An instance was the mysterious collapse of the church’s guesthouse on 12 September 2014, killing scores of worshippers. This has unfortunately led to a long drawn litigation between the church and the Lagos State Government. The incident which has been blamed on a myriad of factors notwithstanding, worshippers from across the world have continued to besiege his services in expectation of miracle solution to their equally myriad challenges. Many devotees have continued to testify about the efficacy of his prayers and accuracy of his prophetic utterances on Emmanuel Television. It can be asserted that Joshua is an epitome of humility, selflessness, though a highly misunderstood one at that because so many people only see him in the light of a single story. He is also known to have awarded scholarships to less privileged members of our societies without minding tribe, sex, locality and even faith. As he stated in one of his teachings that we must learn to show love to everyone and differences in faith should not be a barrier. I can say without mincing word that Joshua has shown great love for the down trodden in our country and beyond. He believes strongly that love is what we need in our society today. Lack of love according to him, is the reason monies meant for all is illegally expropriated by a few. Lack of love is the reason why monies meant for infrastructure is cornered by a few. It is my candid opinion that all our religious leaders and by extension all Nigerians should imbibe this attribute of love for country and one another exhibited by TB Joshua. Diverse accounts abound of Joshua’s prophetic utterances believed to have served as guidance for both political and economic direction for leaders and individuals alike. There are media reports that this humanitarian arm has donated money in order to help orphans and the destitute. In 2009 it was reported that one widow received more than N500, 000. In 2012, Joshua sponsored one Nigerian student doing a PhD in Oxford University with Nigerian media reporting the total given amounted to £100,000. There is also a rehabilitation programme for militants from the Niger Delta region and a Forbes blogger estimated that Joshua had spent $20 million on humanitarian activities over a period of three years. Joshua was involved in the meeting of the family of the late president of Liberia, Samuel Doe, with the former warlord Prince Yormie Johnson who was responsible for Doe’s death. During this meeting the family publicly forgave Johnson. SCOAN has also established another NGO in Ghana called Passion For Needy. After the 2010 Haiti earthquake, Joshua sent a team of medical personnel and humanitarian workers to the affected area, establishing a field hospital called ‘Clinique Emmanuel’. I have gone this far to demonstrate that even though the argument still rages as to the role and relevance of religious leaders in politics and governance, our reality as evidenced above demonstrate that they have been useful and will continue to be absolutely relevant and even indispensable for the peace, order, good governance of any society. Besides, it also shows that religious leaders irrespective of their faith and creed ought and should be accorded honour due them both at the Local, State and Federal level. However religious leaders across the divide must strive at all time to balance their divine calling with service to humanity. They must not be deterred by prevalent scepticism and unbelief. They must up their game by being major players in the social and political life of the country. Their scope of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) need to be broadened. The point must be made that there are still ‘prophets’ in this country who can be relied upon to feed the hungry, make rich the poor, set the captives free and intervene decisively in temporal political matters that assail the body polity of our dear country from time to time. The political rumblings in our polity today call for such urgent intervention by men of good conscience to save our republic from catastrophe. rusher14: If no unbiased evidence be presented that the building was structurally incompetent (Only LASG sources suggested such), if no scientific evidence be provided that the manner and speed of collapse was not akin to a demolition, I'm afraid a guilty verdict poses serious question marks on Nigeria's judicial system. We cannot rush to hasty conclusions concerning a controversial figure because of unusual phenomenon surrounding the incident - as excuses for our inadequacies in thorough investigation. We have to learn to approach matters holistically and not besmirched by the idiosyncrasies of religious sentiment. We need to develop and stop burying our heads in the sand. 1 Like |
Politics / SCOAN Collapse: NUPENG, NLC Uphold It Was A Bomb Attack by jpaul5: 6:10pm On Apr 08, 2016 |
The National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Lagos State Chapters, stormed the premises of the Ikeja High Court to register their support for T.B. Joshua and The Registered Trustees of The Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN). This took place during the resumed hearing on Friday, April 8, 2016 into the case involving the contractors that handled the construction of the collapsed building at The SCOAN in September 2014. The delegation from NUPENG carried placards with inscriptions like: “WE WANT JUSTICE FOR T.B. JOSHUA”, “IT WAS A BOMB ATTACK”. Meanwhile, a representative from NLC told journalists that from all indications, the building had been sabotaged. He argued that the way the ill-fated structure collapsed was strange and did not suggest structural failure in any way. They promised to meet the Lagos State Government to demand a review of the whole matter, stressing that the state should not allow a miscarriage of justice. “We strongly believe that the Synagogue building was bombed based on what we saw in the CCTV footage and from the way the building fell flat in one swoop”, said a NUPENG delegate at the court. Meanwhile, Justice Lawal Akapo of the Ikeja High Court has adjourned proceedings to Tuesday, April 19, 2016 for ruling in the applications filed by counsel to the defendants at the Court of Appeal. Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), E.L Akpofure (SAN), Titilayo Akinlawon (SAN) and Olalekan Ojo, all counsels to the defendants, argued that the court should stay action pending the determination of the suit they have filed at the Court of Appeal. Last week, a delegation led by NLC Lagos State Chairman, Comrade Idowu Adelakun, paid a courtesy visit to Joshua, calling on the government to drop its charges against The SCOAN and praising its impact on Nigeria’s tourism industry. “The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) remains the only ministry in Africa that attracts the highest number of foreign visitors thereby boosting the religious tourism potentials of Nigeria and also earning huge foreign exchange for the country,” he said. Religion / What T.b. Joshua Actually Said Concerning A Southern African President by jpaul5: 9:59am On Apr 01, 2016 |
WHAT T.B. JOSHUA ACTUALLY SAID CONCERNING A SOUTHERN AFRICAN PRESIDENT POPULAR Nigerian prophet, Temitope Balogun Joshua, commonly referred to as T.B. Joshua, predicted trouble for a southern African president between February and April this year. In a televised prophecy on January 3rd, 2016 to thousands of his congregants gathered at The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) in Lagos, Nigeria, T.B. Joshua said prayer sessions needed to be arranged for the region’s leaders because of ‘peculiar’ challenges ahead. “I am being careful so that the press does not misquote me because the message is very sensitive,” T.B. Joshua said. “Ending of February to April are very peculiar months in the Southern African sub-region. Let us observe prayer sessions at the beginning and end of the month for our leaders.” He said he would not reveal anything further regarding the problem about to befall a Southern African leader because the message was highly sensitive. However, the clear warning not to misquote him seemed to be ignored by the international press as headlines recently proclaimed how Malawian President, Peter Mutharika, alleged that T.B. Joshua prophesied he would die before April 1st, 2016. The Malawian President said, “I’m told there is a man in Nigeria called Joshua and he is saying that Zimbabwe President, Robert Mugabe and Malawian President, Peter Mutharika will die before April 1st. Let me tell you, Joshua… you will fail. What you did in 2012 will not happen again this year.” The paranoid Mutharika even scheduled to attend a night of prayer on April 1st because of the rumoured prophecy, recalling that in 2012, the controversial Nigerian preacher reportedly predicted the death of his brother. Bingu Mutharika, who was President at the time, died within the time frame predicted by Joshua, causing his fame to spread rapidly in Malawi. However, unfolding events point increasingly to the travails currently being experienced by South African President Jacob Zuma as the subject of T.B. Joshua’s prophecy. On March 31st, South Africa’s highest court ruled that Zuma violated the constitution when he failed to repay government money spent on his private home. Zuma is now being called on to step down by South Africa’s opposition parties as he is faced with the biggest controversy of his presidency. “It is very difficult to see how the ANC can continue to have President Zuma at the helm, following the stinging rebuke he received from the Constitutional Court,” wrote the BBC as speculations heighten that Zuma’s presidency may forcibly be cut short. “It's very likely that TB Joshua's prophecy was about Jacob Zuma and not the other two we thought,” wrote Max Chunga on Facebook at the news of Zuma’s historic court ruling. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5M_E5uCPgA Wonders, they say, shall never end. A weird clip has been uploaded to YouTube purportedly showing a young man transforming into a ‘dog’ during a deliverance session at the popular church of Lagos-based preacher T.B. Joshua. The video, uploaded by Joshua’s official YouTube channel Emmanuel TV, shows a man acting in an eerily bizarre fashion during a time of prayer, even to the extent of eating one of his shoes. According to the video description, “The demon within this young Liberian man is shockingly exposed, the entirety of his features contorting to the resemblance, movement and eerie sounds of a wild dog.” After the prayer, the man who introduces himself as Alexander Johnson, explained that his problems began after he was sexually molested by a mad woman aged six. Thereafter, Johnson his life was characterised by frustration and a serious ‘lust’ for women. Reacting to his bizarre behaviour during the prayer, Johnson said he had no memory of what occurred. “There is no way I could have done these things,” he asserted, insisting it was the influence of an ‘evil spirit’ and adding that he was ‘completely free’ after the prayer. Comments on the video revealed a mixed reaction from the public, some insisting the video was nothing more than an act. “How much did they pay you to do this acting?” wrote one viewer. “I agree there are a lot of false prophets in the world but Prophet T.B. Joshua is NOT one of them,” another argued. This is not the first controversial video Emmanuel TV has released on YouTube. A video purportedly showing Joshua’s encounter with ‘lucifer’ recently went viral, amassing over one million views in a matter of weeks. Joshua’s YouTube channel has over 320,000 subscribers, making it the third most viewed in Nigeria. Religion / “I Delivered TB Joshua’s Message To Jonathan That Saved Nigeria”- GEJ Aide by jpaul5: 8:02pm On Feb 29, 2016 |
An Abuja-based politician has made more surprising revelations about the role allegedly played by ‘Prophet’ T.B. Joshua in the historic presidential elections held almost one year ago in Nigeria that saw a peaceful transition of power. Speaking before a packed congregation at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) in Lagos, Ambassador Raphael Horsfall explained how Joshua revealed the outcome of the elections to him several weeks prior to the actual vote. “He told me categorically that I should go and tell Mr President that it is too late, that nothing can be done, that we will lose the election but God will prevail on the peace of Nigeria,” said Horsfall, who served as a Special Assistant to Prof Rufai Alkali, the Political Advisor of Nigeria’s Former President, Goodluck Jonathan. “That is why when we lost elections, I was at peace,” Horsfall continued, adding that his visit to The SCOAN came after a meeting with Jonathan and his wife Dame Patience where he suggested they sought ‘spiritual guidance’ from Joshua as the tense time of elections neared. “Mr President was calm after hearing that word from Prophet T.B. Joshua. Everyone was telling him to annul the election, which he had the power to do, but nobody knew this is actually the reason why His Excellency conceded defeat to the opposition,” Horsfall, who said he is currently a UN ambassador and working with the presidency, continued. The revelation from the outspoken politician corroborates Joshua’s controversial statement immediately after the election that he had warned Jonathan of his impending loss. According to a report published in several newspapers, the cleric said ‘God’ spoke to him with a message for Mr. Jonathan that whatever the outcome of the election, his regime had come to an end and his concession of defeat would ‘save the lives of millions’. When a presidential aide worshipped at his church, Joshua said he met him and personally relayed the revelation. “Soft landing – that is the language I sent to the president,” he told the congregation the Sunday following the historic elections which saw Muhammadu Buhari ascend to power. Horsfall explained that his initial encounter with the controversial Nigerian cleric came in 2009 when he was part of a delegation from the Niger-Delta region who sought spiritual solution at The SCOAN to the growing menace of militancy. “The guidance he gave to us, which we communicated to the then President, His Excellency Umaru Musa Yar-Adua, was what led to the Amnesty Program which Nigerians and the entire people of the region are enjoying presently,” Horsfall revealed. He implored Nigeria’s current leadership to seek ‘spiritual guidance’ to address the growing economic challenges engulfing the nation. “This is not time for religious sentiment, nor is it a time for ethnic sentiment,” Horsfall passionately counselled. “This is a time to build Nigeria. In building a strong, united Nigeria – we need God. God has blessed us with a man that speaks to God and hears from Him directly. Why is it that our economy is crumbling and we are still folding our hands? Let us come to inquire of the Most High God what we should do.” Horsfall was also quick to quash any insinuations that money was exchanged with Joshua by politicians during the election period. “Someone who tells you that nothing can be done – will he ask you to bring anything?” Read more at http://www.theheraldng.com/i-delivered-tb-joshuas-message-to-jonathan-that-saved-nigeria-ambassador-horsfall/

Politics / Buhari Warned By Tb Joshua On Naira Devaluation by jpaul5: 12:47pm On Jan 30, 2016 |
BUHARI WARNED BY TB JOSHUA ON NAIRA DEVALUATION www.nairaland.com/attachments/3349534_tbjoshuapreaching_jpeg66ab01a7db25ff5ac867ab7098a6d9cc www.nairaland.com/attachments/3349535_buharinaira_jpeg841a5dbeac7b3fe8219d4748406e000b On December 31st 2015, Prophet T.B. Joshua prophesied that Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari would face 'overwhelming pressure' which he would 'not be able to resist' to devalue the naira, a statement that subsequent events have increasingly confirmed. “The president will do everything to reject revaluation of the naira – which is a good idea from a good leader," Joshua stated in a live broadcast on Christian television network Emmanuel TV during a special New Year's eve service. "But there will be overwhelming pressure which he will not be able to resist. Nigerians, support and pray for your leader. The future is crying for help.” Four days later, International Monetary Fund (IMF) Chief, Christine Lagarde, embarked on an official visit to the West African nation. Underneath the polished financial rhetoric, high on the agenda was a clear push for Buhari to devalue the naira, heightened by the drastic reduction in oil prices worldwide, Nigeria's major source of revenue. Influential financial newspapers have reiterated this call with media such as Financial Times, Forbes and Bloomberg blunt in their appraisal that economic disaster was nigh in Nigeria lest drastic action be taken by the government over the currency. In an article published Saturday January 30th 2016 titled, 'Hope The Naira Falls' by The Economist, the magazine stated, "President Muhammadu Buhari is repeating an economic error he made as dictator 30 years ago," citing the President's refusal to devalue the naira amidst growing pressure. "Instead of letting the naira depreciate to reflect the country’s loss of purchasing power, Mr Buhari’s government is trying to keep it aloft," the magazine stated, reminding people of the detrimental consequences Nigerians faced when Buhari attempted the same policy during his last stint in power. Among those calling for devaluation is the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mallam Lamido Sanusi, who said devaluation was necessary as the CBN would not be able to sustain its current forex control policies on the long run. With global economic worries rising due to the continuing reduction in oil prices, other oil-producing nations from Angola to Russia and Mexico have let their currencies weaken. However, the central bank of Africa’s largest economy has determinedly pegged the naira at 197-199 per dollar since March to stem its slide, despite it selling for 306 per dollar on the black market. The policy has led to a shortage of foreign-exchange and been widely criticized by investors and businesses, who blame the restrictions for exacerbating the country’s economic slump and discouraging potential investors. However, despite the warnings from economic experts, Nigerian newspapers such as The Punch, The Nation, Daily Sun and Vanguard reported on Friday January 29th 2016 that President Buhari insisted on refusing to follow advice to devalue the naira. He likened devaluation of the Naira to having it murdered and said that those advocating for devaluation needed to convince him further, adding he was not ready to inflict more hardship on the poor citizens of Nigeria. But according to a report by Forbes titled, 'Nigeria Faces 'Bleak' 2016 As Currency Devaluation Looms', the issue is not 'whether' devaluation will happen but 'when'. Intriguingly, the other predictions given by T.B. Joshua at the start of 2016 have also started coming to fruition. "More African countries will be under siege by terrorists because of pros and cons in choosing leaders," he warned in the same broadcast, subsequently uploaded on YouTube and viewed up to 300,000 times. The prophecy took on renewed meaning when terrorists stormed a popular hotel in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso on January 15th 2016, killing 30 and injuring countless more - just days after a new government was sworn into power. On January 3rd 2016, Joshua gave a worldwide warning about the volatile nation of North Korea. “I am seeing an arrow from there and it will affect the world,” he soberly stated, further adding, “there are some weapons there the world does not know about". Merely three days later on Wednesday January 6th, North Korea announced that it carried out a “successful” hydrogen bomb test, a claim that shocked the world and received international condemnation. In the same service, the cleric specifically warned countries of Southern Africa about drought which would take a serious toll on the farming industry. “There will be little rain at the wrong time, which is not good for farming,” Joshua warned the SADC countries. “Many farmers will be discouraged,” he continued, calling on the government to build “dams and irrigation mechanisms using available water from the sea.” IRIN, a world humanitarian news service, reported on Thursday January 28th 2016 that Southern Africa is facing the threat of extensive crop failures this year as a result of record low rainfall in a region in which 29 million people are already going hungry. "With little or no rain falling in many areas and the window for the planting of cereals closing fast or already closed in some countries, the outlook is alarming," the World Food Programme has warned. Joshua was recently named among the most famous prophets in history by an American ranking website, Ranker.com. His ministry has posted numerous videos on YouTube, claiming he has prophesied world events such as the death of pop legend Michael Jackson, the disappearance of Malaysian Airline MH370 and the terrorist attacks perpetrated by ISIS militants in Paris, France. Politics / Re: Do You Agree TB Joshua Is ‘Yoruba Man Of The Year 2015’??? by jpaul5: 9:10pm On Dec 11, 2015 |
I would like to point out another angle to TB Joshua. The man does not shy away from challenges. He’s easily the most persecuted pastor in Africa (perhaps the world) but he still seems to be waxing stronger. Even the building incident last year was enough to bring any pastor down but he still seems to be growing. In the midst of all this, Emmanuel TV is now on DStv (Channel 390)! Even with these current court issues, TB Joshua is basically taking on the entire government, calling the results of the coroner’s inquest biased. I remember when the Cameroonian government ‘blacklisted’ him some years ago. Entire countries fighting just one man! As Nigeria is fighting TB Joshua, Tanzania basically came to a standstill to honour him when he visited last month. The President there that the world is praising for the reforms he is implementing (Magufuli) said TBJ is his ‘mentor’... There’s just something mysterious about him in the sense that each attempt to silence him makes him louder. Okotie, Oritsejafor and the likes tried. Today, TBJ’s popularity has soared far beyond them. Must be God... |

Politics / Oritsejafor & CAN Accused Of HYPOCRISY Over TB Joshua... by jpaul5: 8:15pm On Oct 02, 2015 |
Glancing through online Nigerian news today, I came across a condolence message from the head of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, to the victims of the deadly stampede during the Hajj in Saudi Arabia that claimed well over 1,000 lives. According to The Punch, CAN “commiserated with the Sultan of Sokoto and the leader of Nigerian Muslims, Sa’aid Abubakar lll, on the stampede tragedy during the ongoing Hajj in Mina, Saudi Arabia, and expressed its sympathy to the deceased families and all Nigerian Muslims.” What surprised me about this response was how it stood in such stark contrast to the attitude of CAN to the last major religious tragedy that happened on Nigerian shores – the collapse of a building within The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN). Just over 12 months ago, 115 Christians perished in the incident yet CAN remained silent, sending neither a message of condolence to the church’s founder T.B. Joshua nor the families of those affected. In contrast, I learned the Sultan of Sokoto sent his condolences to The SCOAN and T.B. Joshua when this occurred. Why would CAN condole with their Muslim brethren but stay so loudly silent when tragedy struck one of their own? Is it because they have publicly distanced themselves from T.B. Joshua, proclaiming that he is not of God? Does that give them the right to disregard the countless thousands of Christians who flock to his church on a weekly basis from across the globe? What hypocrisy! This little example gives further credence to the notion that CAN, especially under Ayo Oritsejafor, has become politicized. It exposes the reality that such messages of condolence seem to be given with a purely political agenda, not because of any genuine concern for those involved. This sadly reminds me of the billion naira bribe allegedly collected by CAN pastors during last year’s elections in return for canvassing support for the then President Goodluck Jonathan. What of Oritsejafor’s private jet that was used for nefarious purposes in an attempt to smuggle arms from South Africa to Nigeria? When will CAN stop being known for political statements and associations and start being known for spreading Christ’s Gospel and uplifting the poor in society? Politics / My Stand Concerning Gay Marriage - TB Joshua by jpaul5: 10:15pm On Jun 30, 2015 |
MY STAND ON SAME-SEX MARRIAGE - TB JOSHUA “ ‘Judge not, so that you will not be judged’ (Matthew 7:1). We should talk to people to be saved. I mean, we should talk salvation, not condemnation. “God hates sin, not sinners. When I say, ‘Do not judge so that you will not be judged’, I mean we should hate sin, not the sinner because sinners can change. If you have killed a sinner by judging him, there will be no opportunity for change. Sinners can be delivered. We should hate the act, not the people because our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the ‘spirit beings’ that cause all these acts.” “The Bible is my standard. If my parents were one, I would not have been given birth to. Those that are asking this question – if your parents were one, you would not have been given birth to. You that are reading me – if your parents were one, you would not be reading this today. God bless the reader and the hearer.” http://www.facebook.com/tbjministries

Politics / TB Joshua Reacts To Gay Law In USA by jpaul5: 11:36pm On Jun 27, 2015 |
Various reactions have come in the wake of America formally legalising gay marriage across the entirety of its borders but one of the most unusual has sprung from a popular Nigerian cleric. After the historic announcement, T.B. Joshua tweeted a YouTube video showing a young man allegedly receiving ‘deliverance’ from a ‘homosexual demon’. The clip titled, ‘Deliverance From Homosexual Demon’ shows a Nigerian from Imo State who identified himself as ‘Tedus’ receiving prayer at the church of T.B. Joshua in Lagos, Nigeria. “I made him gay; I made him love men,” the young man says after being questioned by one of Joshua’s ministers, the clip clarifying that it was an ‘evil spirit’ speaking, which was allegedly behind his homosexual tendencies. Tedus is subsequently ‘delivered’ and later shares his experiences about how the ‘devil’ of homosexuality had possessed him. He narrated how, upon his return from a business trip in Asia, he had lodged in a hotel in Kenya where he met some male friends who suggested they go for a swim in the hotel pool. “After swimming, I went back to my room and had a dream,” Tedus recounted. “I dreamt where I saw myself swimming in the same pool with naked men. When I woke up, I felt as if something entered into me. I started having passion for men.” Upon returning to Cameroon where he was based, Tedus ‘sacked’ his fiancé without any explanation. “I had no passion for her anymore – no more affection. She was astonished and asked so many questions which I couldn’t abswered. On the internet, I discovered so many things on gay websites and began downloading gay pornography. That’s how it started.” According to Tedus, he saw his newfound homosexual lifestyle as ‘normal’ until his pastor in the church where he worked as a translator called him aside privately. “He told me that I had to go to Nigeria to The SCOAN and that I needed deliverance.” Tedus reluctantly agreed. After making the journey in December 2013, when the time arrived for people to receive prayer in the church service, he described a sense of anger welling within him as one of Joshua’s pastors approached. “When he prayed for me, I lost control,” he described. “I knew I was talking but I never knew what I was saying.” Since receiving prayer, Tedus testified that all homosexual feelings have left him. “Those feelings for men are no longer there; I have real passion for the opposite sex. I couldn’t control the former passion.” The clip then jumps to almost one year later where Tedus returns, this time with a young lady whom he introduced as his fiancé. “The Bible says that a man ought to be with a woman. After my deliverance, I travelled to Imo State and there I met this wonderful lady and proposed to her,” he said, with a large smile, testifying that is life has changed ‘tremendously’ since receiving prayer. “My advice is that if you come across somebody that may be having the same problem, you shouldn’t criticise them but rather pray for them,” he said. “People just believe it’s a normal thing; it’s not just ordinary. There is a force or spirit behind it. The only way out of this is deliverance. It is like a virus. Once it gets into you, it is only deliverance from Jesus Christ that can get you out of it.” In his comments, T.B. Joshua quoted Matthew 7:1, stating that Christians should ‘talk salvation, not condemnation’. “God hates sin, not sinners,” he insisted. “When I say, 'Do not judge so that you will not be judged', I mean we should hate sin, not the sinner because sinners can change. If you have killed a sinner by judging him, there will be no opportunity for change. Sinners can be delivered. We should hate the act, not the people because our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the 'spirit beings' that cause all these acts.” He then went further to clarify his stance: “The Bible is my standard. If my parents were one, I would not have been given birth to.” SOURCE: http://lindaikeji..com/2015/06/tb-joshua-reacts-to-gay-law-in-usa.html VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5WxzcYfKiI |

Crime / SHOCKING Confession From The ‘king Of 419' by jpaul5: 12:05am On Jun 23, 2015 |
Mod, FP methinks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgqs_X6L8zg A Nigerian internet fraudster known as the ‘king of dating’ for his sophisticated tactics of online manipulation has given an eye-opening confession at a Lagos-based church. Samuel Johnson, an Edo State indigene, explained that his journey into advanced internet scamming began in The University of Port Harcourt after he joined the ‘’ cult. “I followed them into a very thick forest during the night of initiation,” the young man narrated. He was just 19 years old at the time. “We reached a place where there was a candle and a coffin encircled by 50 young men. They tortured us with canes until we started bleeding. They then cut my tongue on a razor blade and gave me something to drink.” The quiet, intelligent student changed drastically from that day onward. “It was like I had two people living inside me,” he recalled. “I became very aggressive. I had this strength to want to steal and started stealing from people. I also started smoking and drinking excessively. Anytime I drank, it’s like I became stronger.” A cult friend into online fraud, popularly known as 419, soon egged him into joining. However, for Samuel, there was a strange, spiritual element to his deceptive tricks. “There was a spirit inside me that kept teaching me. I was not just any fraudster; I learned it from meditating on it. It was inbuilt. Even if I walked into a room and money was kept there, I would know where to find it.” Starting by procuring foreign sim-cards from UK and USA so as to deceive potential victims, Samuel specifically targeted wealthy foreign ladies in North America. “I had pictures and pre-recorded videos of a white man. There is software which will replay these videos on Skype. So, if I am Skyping with you, you will not see my present self – you would see this video on a webcam. I had about 20 different videos with the same white man and I had created stories behind each clip. When I showed my victims, they all believed it was real.” Johnson explained Facebook was the easiest way to attract prospective ‘customers’ and he had fixed a fake profile using the same pictures in the doctored videos he owned. “I would tell them I was an engineer who worked and lived in London, that I am rich and wealthy. I wouldn’t tell them I’m not rich; it was the money I used to drag them towards me.” Johnson explained how he used his boast of huge wealth to lull victims into a false sense of security. “Sometimes I would ask them to help me look for a property agent to buy a house. I would tell them I am ready to pay for the house as soon as I come. I would send them a fake e-ticket and tell them I would be arriving in two weeks. I even had a pre-recorded video of a 12 year old girl who I pretended was my daughter. I had this assistant who would help me in speaking like a small girl. There is no way you would see that video on Skype and not believe it is real. They buy into it immediately. That was how I was able to draw them to get money from them.” To gain added confidence, Samuel would ensure an emotional attachment was fostered. “You make it look real. I would send them gifts – rings, champagne, credit cards to shop. We would have ‘phone intimacy’ to draw their attention even more – that is how they believed. Sometimes, I could be talking to 10 different women simultaneously and I never forgot their names.” Once such naïve trust was established, extorting money was relatively easy, the former fraudster explained. “I would tell them to contact my bank. Once they give me their details, I would make a fake wire transfer. They would see the money moving into their account. When it stops, I would tell them that they have to contact the bank and pay the ‘cost of transfer’.” The expert duper would even go to the extent of getting personal bank details of his foreign victims, and then call their bank pretending to be an owner of the account, change information and request for a huge loan. Money flowed freely. “I could make $30,000, $80,000 - even $250,000 on a single victim. I was living in very luxurious and expensive hotels. I moved to Omole Phase One, Ikeja and lived in an apartment for which I paid N1.5m every year. I bought all my properties in one day. I was lavishing it. I would buy Hennessy every day. I had to drink. The thing is – I needed to alcohol in order for me to perform,” he recounted. Johnson explained that his preferred victims were those who were high-ranking, intelligent professionals. “We preferred people who were educated – people that would say, ‘It is not possible for me to be scammed’. I attacked lawyers through Yellow Pages in USA. I would tell the lawyer that someone owes me money from Michigan and the person is living in Alaska. The person the lawyer would contact in Alaska would be me also. Once he talked to this ‘person’, I would say, ‘I really owe him money and I want to pay back $300,000’. I would send the lawyer a cheque and once I sent it, they would not find out from the bank if the cheque was real; they would just deposit it.” Johnson gained such a reputation for his scamming tricks that he began teaching others, even foreigners. “I had many boys that I was training. They called me the ‘king of dating’ because I always got what I wanted. Sometimes I would be invited to Benin or Lagos to teach fraud. I even trained grown men who were 40 to 45 years old. Some were not even black or Nigerian; some where white. They called themselves diplomats but carried fake money.” With the words, ‘Money; power; respect’ tattooed on Samuels’ arm, it served as a constant reminder of his mission. “That was the law I lived under,” he explained. “Sometimes, if I had emotions towards the people I was defrauding, this tattoo would remind me of why I entered this business in the first place. I would say there was no mercy.” Samuel said he had lost count of the people he had deceptively stolen money from online. “I derived pleasure in doing it. It made me feel strong – that I could make people do what I wanted them to do. I did not do this alone. I had bankers as friends who helped me out. In fact, the money I tipped them with would be more than their salary for the whole year.” However, despite the flamboyance and lavish lifestyle, Samuel said his life was bereft of joy and the money was merely fleeting. “Whenever I got this money, it was like chaff before the wind – it would blow away. I never enjoyed it for one day. I would always fight and beat any girl I was dating. There was such anger, like there was someone living inside me. My life was upside down. I would always fear that I would be involved in an accident. If I was crossing the road, even if there was no car coming, I would run. I was living in isolation. I never came out during the day. Everything was troubling me. I never had peace. My heart was beating fast. I behaved like someone was chasing me whereas no one was chasing me.” When a close friend and fellow fraudster was shot dead point-blank at the tender age of 23, Samuel was rudely jolted back to reality. His life was a mess. His dreams were dominated by violent attacks and sexual encounters. He needed help. When an evangelist came knocking at his door, Samuel knew it was the voice of God speaking – he needed Divine intervention to start afresh. That night, Samuel had an unusual dream. A pastor he had only seen on a few occasions on television came with a message. “I saw TB Joshua in my dream. He told me to fast for three days,” he stated. Complying with the instruction in the Heavenly visitation, Samuel began nursing the desire to visit Joshua’s church in Lagos, The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN). It was on the ‘prayer line’ at The SCOAN that Samuel experienced what he termed ‘deliverance’. “When the man of God touched me, I immediately saw myself facing a judge. I felt something in between my chest starting to pop out. I then felt like something left me and before I knew it, I saw myself on the floor.” After the prayer, Samuel testified that he has stopped smoking, drinking and has comipletely stopped his fraudulent activities. His advice is short but concise. “The only way you can achieve greatness is when you have Christ in your heart. Always watch and pray. Don’t just click on any link. Don’t just share your information with anyone. If they send you an email, saying they need your information to change something – don’t listen to them. Depend only on God.” SOURCE: http://lindaikeji..com/2015/06/shocking-confessions-from-king-of-419.html |
