Not surprised.....the fact is after years of thinking power was cheap, we are waking up to the cold reality.

I'll leave this post i made earlier

The fact is, if we want power, we got to pay for it at high prices. But most of us don't want to because we won't be able to afford the prices needed to kick start the sector.

Boss, just advise them Discos to meter everyone. That should solve 70% of all the problems.

Politics / Re: Marketers Plan To Sell Petrol Below ₦‎1,028/Litre Dangote Price by JuanDeDios: 7:15am On Nov 02
adenigga:

Since the Dangote refinery commenced the release of refined petroleum products domestically, it had refused to announce the cost of the commodity despite several demands for the price.

However, a major marketer, who spoke to one of our correspondents on condition of anonymity due to lack of authorisation to speak on the matter, confirmed that the cost of petrol from the Dangote refinery was higher than that of imported PMS.

According to the official, the refinery currently sells to oil marketers making bulk purchase at N1,015/litre and small buyers at N1,028/litre.

The major marketer also disclosed that three cargoes carrying petroleum products recently arrived and had been discharged at seaports along the nation’s borders.

“Dangote is selling to bulk buyers at N1,015/litre, but to marketers who are not buying in bulk, the refinery is selling at N1,028/litre.

“But imported PMS is cheaper than the cost of Dangote’ own, and that is why he is doing all he can to ensure that the government stops the importation of fuel,” the dealer stated.

Commenting on the development, marketers under the aegis of the Petroleum Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria vowed that they would sell imported petrol below the price offered by the Dangote refinery.

Good. No to monopoly. We fought for Dangote Refinery when the principalities were aligning against it. Now, we will fight it as it tries to become the principality.

This guy is a complete joke. If he has any sense he should know that anyone who associates with Trump will eventually face their demise. Look at Rudy Guiliani, Michael Cohen etc etc, Trump is a poison and it never ends well for them. I'm beginning to think Elon Musk isn't as smart or as innovative as he's been portrayed to be. PayPal, Tesla, SpaceX, Starlink the Boring Company, Neuralink and Twitter were other people's ideas and he just hijacked it as his. Just like he tried to forcefully become the CEO of Open AI but was rejected and he started making threats to shut them down.

I could care less about American politics, but him and Trump will be put to shame in just a few days. At some point, common decency and the rule of law will prevail. Thinking you can just pay people millions of dollars to vote for Trump without any consequence, just shows how foolish they both are.
He's smart. A genius. Just not self-aware. Doesn't know his limits.

I thought naysayers claim that in Nigeria, the law is only for the poor

I guess this lawmaker isnt an elite and prolly a poor man too

Kudos to the Nigerian Police.
Well, the case went viral, so the police had no choice. I doubt he'll be jailed for assault though. Or even be made to apologise to the driver and make a reasonable payment in an out-of-court settlement (since that can be done in an assault case). The law is for the poor.

While violence must be unequivocally condemned, we must also avoid hasty judgments.

The bolt driver stated that he was struck three times and had his clothes torn to shreds simply for requesting that the lawmaker, Ikwechegh, step outside to collect his package.

We must also await a response from the lawmaker to achieve a more balanced understanding of the situation.

The lawmaker deserves respect as a prominent figure in this nation, and we must exercise caution in addressing these matters.
shocked
The man has already stated his side of the story - listen to his phone call with "Madam". He said the guy told him to come to the car to pick his items. That was the guy's offence.

I don’t support how he slapped the bolt driver!

but bolt drivers are the worst despicable drivers on the road,
-they are very rude
- they are the ones that sexually exploit female riders,
-never truthful
-Always looking for ways to cheat unsuspecting people

When Uber was the only ride app in Nigeria, those were days of descent drivers.
Bolt should include etiquette training for their drivers on how to approach their paying clients
This post makes no sense. Yes, some Bolt drivers do bad things - but that's a topic for another since this driver apparently did nothing to warrant the assault from the barbaric specimen of a man.

Calm down ọrẹ,read between the lines.

CIA agents can also be an Americans with opportunistic job, skill or etc send out to spy in the name of offering Fintech or Crypto services.

That area is a better cover for CIA task.

The ability of USA to retrieve them depend on the what they stand to gain.

If he is on espionage mission that is when they do this much to cover their tracks or get the intelligence.

If not they can't do shit if the person is on wrong soil like North Korea,Russia or China and there is nothing much to gain through him.
CIA agents do exist and they take everyday jobs as cover. But there's no evidence that every citizen they try hard to retrieve (like they did for those aid workers retrieved by SEALS from Northern Nigeria) is a CIA agent. They're mandated by their law to retrieve all citizens. Sometimes, it's Russia and co doing hostage diplomacy and they have to play the game Russia is playing by doing exchange. That proves nothing. You people read too much into everything. Mr Gabaran-what's-his-name wasn't even based outside the US.

Una go arrest tire na, bunch of uselèss idiots .
I'm trying to make an iota of sense of this post. For some time now, sit-at-home has been a major problem in the SE and its enforcers have murdered ordinary Nigerians and ruined businesses. You think it's a bad thing for the government to address the situation by arresting those responsible? You think the North is better off because insecurity has been left to fester there? ? ? ?

BTW, you have not been following events. A lot of bandits have been killed in the forests in the North and other parts of the country in recent months.
