Certification And Training Adverts / Re: Money Side Of IT - Sap Erp by jubatus: 2:47pm On Mar 04, 2011 |
http://www.itcontractor.com/Articles_IR35_News_Advice/view_article.asp?id_no=6195&photopage=0 Trying to make sense of it all.A newbie developer trying to put together my first application with Java/J2EE/Spring.I am very open to getting into any part of IT so long as I can make a lot of money to live the way I like.If I bring a maserati to Nigeria, its not gonna reject the bad roods. But for me,I will preffer to be a SAP developer because as a developer, you are an indispensible requirement of the system.I have had about ABAP and SAP integration with Java,so once I can get myself started I am open to all ideas. The SAP business even is surely going into my diary. However,I will reiterate that I still prefer to be a developer whether with SAP,Java/Oracle or Microsoft frameworks because as a developer if you have a good idea, you can make a lot of money.SAP or no SAP,Google boys became rich with gmail via Javascript,Zuberberg Facebook was done with PHP and twitter is the new boy in town with ruby on rails. Most banks in Nigeria run on java and microsoft powered software and possible oracle or SAP at the backend, atleast I know about rubicon and finacle.Young developers have made money with developing games and other programs that is not enterprise related. |

For 99% of girls whose power and way to their heart lie in between legs, what else is the girl going to hide after it has been revealed? When she knows that when you look at her, what you see is a naked person. You know the color of everything. Some parts have become worse than you even met them.Nothing to excite you again about them. Moreover,if the guy was good at it,why not relish that wonderful experience again. Is it a crime? For singles only! |

eSOT: thanks bro for the kind words.I will surely take the exam immediately I raise the cash.continuous learning is the only option and as soon as i get certified,I will go for a tutor job.i am getting acquainted with spring these days because it seems to be the future of java ee and I read somewhere that the future of java may be confined to enterprise use only. |

Kobojunkie: I totally agree with you. What is lacking amongst Nigerian programmers is in-depth knowledge and expertise needed to deliver high performance and robust softwares. No language is better than the other. What we have is fundamental computing implemented in different languagues.Although some are good in certain areas than others (like implementing AMQP in Erlang ,spring supports it in java via spring AMQP).In terms of enterprise application which is what is needed here, java has proven to be doing very well in it especially with spring. I get pissed at all these apostles who are here defending what they don’t know. What contributions have they made to those languages they defend? |
Certification And Training Adverts / Re: Be A Java Programmer by jubatus: 12:21am On Feb 12, 2011 |
The best windows operating system for learning is Windows XP professional.Thats my opinion. Secondly I will advice you to leave netbeans alone for now if you are beginner with no programming experience and indepth knowledge of the working of a computer system. Why do I say this, netbeans like other IDE's are abstracted on top of the OS,it simplifies all the tasks and does so gracefully in a graphical manner. So it is deceptive for a beginner but good for an intermidiate or advanced user. Most tutorials and books will advice you to crank up your command line and play with, until you grab many concepts like classpaths, paths, environmental variables, the file system and other mundane issues you need to know as an advanced user when you start programming proper, the you can now use IDE's to simplify matters, even graduate from IDE to another.I started with netbeans and ant but now uses eclipse and maven(although still an intermidiate) The reason why you couldnt run javac was because you didnt set the path variable.Read this it is self explanatoryhttp://download.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/essential/environment/paths.html |

segsalerty: We want everything free.Nigeria should have been named Freestate.Do you know what it takes to learn programming? If you want static tutorials for you to read and digest, there are a million pages on the net offering such for over 100 languages,if you want to get one on one and become good, pay for it.Go to this http://www.springsource.com/training/class?classID=84769 and see how much it cost to learn spring(java/j2ee) from a bootcamp. Its the same for evryother language. |

When it was revealed by wikileaks recently that GEJ told an American Ambassador that he did't have political experience, many didnt take notice.I am not surprised at this,I expect more guffing from GEJ.Although this does not take my vote away from him despite this recent derailment,he still represents the future I hope for, what the Egyptians and Tunisians are taking to the street for,a vote for departure from status quo. In the US,such exchange of strong and vain words(Glenn beck said on national TV that Obama hates white people) are common although it is done in a dignified manner with evidence that you are better than the other guy in policies that will afffect the nation for good.I have watched Obama poking someone in the chest while they were on TV.If he thinks that the governors are rascals and he can prove, let him do that for Nigerians and convince them to vote the PDP in every state.Chikena! Nigerians are not widely read or care to observe other polity well.We make a big deal out of everything while leaving out or ignoring important matters. |

candylips: thanks, theres no subsitute for learning more to be able to prove myself anywhere.Only someone who hasnt started the journey will not wish to get to the level of being a good developer and delivery solutions with ease.I hope I can be like you guys soon.Keep me in mind anything you have got something |
Programming / Re: Web Service Using Java Or C# by jubatus: 9:51pm On Feb 08, 2011 |
candylips: It seems that anywhere j2ee is mentioned, the experts talk spring.Okay ooo! I am a newbie and I tried learning ejb but the annotation driven framework, akin to secret societies signs didn't make it easy so I stumbled on a blog that had so many spring advocates and I decided to go a learning spring. From what I was able to consume before I had a system crash, spring seems to give you that sense of control and makes you feel part of the whole development(I prefer XML configuration to java 5 annotations) of which I think every developer wants(I stand to be corrected);although being inexperience I do not know if this is a false sense of control and integration. However,it was easier for me to understand the parts of the reference documentation I have read so far-Ioc container,DI,Spring AOP,was reading DAO's and support for ORM before I went down. This period I have not being playing with my eclipse,I have spent most of the time reading and trying to come to terms with the spring concepts and I seem to have no trouble appreciating ithe fact that it is easier to learn than ejb although as a beginner, you will struggle a little to understand the initial concepts like IoC and DI. I hope to get myself a new system and finish up and become like you guys and begin to talk spring, get a job and get a life.God dey |

Pweety4me:You see thats what I am talking about.Too personal. The answers are too obvious. The only way to sex in relationship is avoid being promiscious. One person at a time.It will reduce the risk of getting any bad disease and be sure to use protection. But for those who cant wait till they are married to have it raw and so sweet, devil catch them they dont get pregnant or get STDs |
Romance / Re: Does Intimacy Spice Up A Relationship? by jubatus: 3:04pm On Feb 08, 2011 |
Pweety4me: I want to ask,if you are saying no to sex in a relationship,do you consider that relationship intimate in the literal sense.Secondly, does it mean that you have just suspended sex in your life for the period or consider someone to be in a relationship with you and then have secret sex with another person? If you have disvirgined,as a girl can you go without sex for one month? |

googles: jennykadry: a person defines beauty and ugliness relative to what they themselves look like.If you are beautiful then you will really be able to tell the both extremes perfectly. For some the guy is handsome and for others,he is just there, normal. I think they match because the girl or woman is not pretty, the fit each other. |

instinctg: Surely, from my little experience,an app developer needs some dba skills,at least advanced sql and deep understanding of how databases works or better still how to program one.in support of jack of all trade,so long as your brain can carry all of dem successfully. I have to keep searching and updating myself.I will try those jobsites while nairaland remains my primary point of call. How I wish you are a player in the industry.God can use anyone and in this dynamic world of IT,once you have the skills, you are good to go. "Just a matter of time" but I hope it will happen sooner.I don suffer. |
Programming / How Does A Rookie Java/j2ee Programmer Get A Job? by jubatus: 10:46am On Feb 07, 2011 |
Firstly, learning the java programming language has been my preoccupation in the past one year. After initial struggle to come to terms with the whole OOP concept(my only programming experience being procedural programing vis-a-vis BASIC and PASCAL);I can now consider myself above basic level but not fully at the intermediate level but ready to plunge into the dynamic world of coding. I have taken a look at SCJP questions online and I could score past 70% on first attempt and subsequent ones on a drill of over 70 questions without referring to any text or revising anything. However I have not written the exam, reason being that I cannot presently afford the 48k needed to take the exam atone of the test centers in Ikeja. Secondly,in this part of the world where employer's of labour require over 10 years of experience on the job,it is difficult to find a job, talk more of a skilled one.Scurrying Nigerian job sites and newspapers in search of java/j2ee programmer job is a waste of time. Its even only here in the programming section on nairaland that I even see adverts for such jobs. However,I can remember reading one blog that advised rookies in the IT field to seek a mentor to guide them, this is what I seek now.Someone who could help put together volumes of knowledge that I have consumed in the last one year, have me do some things like software testing, writing trivial classes or anything related.Furthermore,if engaged on a real project,I will be able to defend my dignity and begin to add value in the shortest minimum time possible. I am very ready to work like an apprentice without pay.So long as the job description is java/j2ee.Right now most of what I have is conceptual knowledge,if the wind blows me towards say any java framework like spring beans, ejb, avalon, jboss seam or in-house framework,I am ready to go.I can catch up on the job. I am waiting, save a soul.Bring a brother into the programming world and help him put food on his table.God will bless you real good. I can be reached via jubatuscode@gmail.com |

I got my OCP last year.I decided to learn java to broaden my view.I have not started out as a programmer but I need a job badly as probably as Oracle tutor, administrator or anything related.Searching for such jobs especially for beginners via jobsites and newspapers is very frustrating. Please any help or ideas on how to go about getting this much needed job will be appreciated.A job offer will be the best thing that can happen to me now.I could do PL/SQL on the job because I know SQL and OOP/programming basics. In my java practices,I have been able to persist data to Oracle express via JPA. I need a job. |
