Thank you so much for this information

Please do you know anything as right of abode for my kids

duchess90:
Hello,

Sorry I missed this

It is pretty straightforward and you can do so yourself.

First get TB sorted

2. Apply, pay IHS and visa fees

3. Biometrics and wait(24 weeks)

I must add that I hope you looked at the financial criteria and your husband meets it.

Have a good research on this link

Do let us know if you need more help

Cheers

Hello,

Is your husband a British citizen or does have an ILR status?

Hello,

I don't know if this is the right trend for my question

I want to start my visa processing (settlement, husband is over there) can I fill the application form and book an appointment myself or do I need to get someone to help me with it

AlphaUno:

1. Yes
2. Not sure if ikeja has walk-in presently
3. Individually
4. Once you pick VI, it will be paid during application/booking denominated in $, while the 42k walk-in is paid on-site with card
5. People’s recent testimonies here is all you need to confirm Ikeja TLS

Please how did you get your family registration certificate
Ray7878:

Congrats, which TLS branch did you have your done? My wife had her biometrics done on the 28th of January for a settlement Visa, standard appt at Ikeja.

Told it would take 60 working days, but we email them today, had a no decision yet, and might take longer due to the Ukrainian applying for UK visa lol. My wife is inpatient.

But I have told her settlement visas takes longer than others.

Okay so, not going to bore you with how it started but a few things to add to everything.

We got married in September in Abeokuta 2021. And I came back to the UK early October.

(1) She did change of name and applied for her passport (Got that at Festac?) sorry not good with names/places in Nigeria.

(2) TB appt was booked for 26th of October after going directly there, and paid one of the staff to book her because we just couldn’t get anything online.

(3) Passport came out on the 25th of October after she begged and begged the staffs.

(4) When he booked the TB we needed her passport number but because she didn’t have one I called my mother and put HER passport number in the bookings, because without a passport they wouldn’t allow you to book it. And thanks to GOD they didn’t notice this. So when she received her passport she just stay over in Lagos and took it to the TB place the next day.

(5) Booked for her English test for 3rd of December (Result came out on the 17th online as passed) - Awaiting certificate.

(6) Application processed by myself over here in the UK
- Documents
A. My UK passport, UK drivers licence, my NHS work contract, my previous job contract (Both showing how much I earn per annum), my house deed, my mortgage statement, my divorce papers, my payslips, my Halifax statement of account (I highlight every single money that was paid by my employers in yellow, which matches each dated payslips) all these covering a 2 years period (Because I moved jobs in September and was paid more than my period job).

B. She provided her passport, TB certificate, and English language test result, Wedding certificate, pictures of when we met in early 2019 and wedding pictures, WhatsApp chat taken from archives from early 2019 up until the application date.

(7) Booked Biometrics for the 11th of Jan 2021

(cool Biometrics missed because we didn’t have the certificate. TLS refused to complete this without the actual certificate, DLH left her certificate on their desk in Abeokuta from the 17th of December until she made a complaint in Lagos when she went there on the day that TLS refused the biometrics.

(9) DLH delivered the next day after 1000 apologies to her for missing her bio.

(10) Bio rebooked for the 28th of Jan AFTER paying some guy that was standing around outside TLS as the TLS staff were unhelpful.

(11) Biometrics done of the 28th of Jan.
(12) Transferred to DMC on the same day and received - 3 greens on the tracker.
(13) Paid email sent in end of Feb by me, was told decision would be early Mid March by a staff named Tanya.
(14) 15th of March second paid email - Told by a staff called Simon that no decision yet. But since ours was settlement it is usually 12 weeks (Which means end of April)
(15) Wife received an email 11th of May to say “60WD is now 120WD” due to the Ukrainian crisis.
(16) Next day I filed a complaint via gov.Uk (The link I found it on this forum).
(17) Tracking everyday but nothing - 3 green lines.
(18) 26th of May - Email received from TLS for collection.
(19) Wife picked up her “Partner visa” to expired Feb 2025.
(20) Received an email from the complaint side saying they have contacted my wife.

I think this was the timeline that I can remember right now. Prior to this I or my wife knew NOTHING about immigration/visas or how to do an application. I found this forum AFTER we put in our application. But this forum has been very helpful and it has been an eye opener.

I highlighted everything that I uploaded on the TLS document website, and they kept her passport. Hopefully she would be here in the next 2 months when she has sort out everything in Ijebu ode where she currently resides.

LadyXB:
What a journey!

Thank you for the detailed breakdown May God continue to bless you and your wife.

I totally understand the frustration, My husband and I have been waiting since the 17th January but nothing, it feels good to hear a fellow comrade has been freed from this limbo.

Did you outline all of this in the complaint? And did filing the complaint speed up the process?

I’m contemplating going down this route, I haven’t seen my husband in over 18 months it’s tiring

How to Legally Bring Your Spouse to the UK with a UK Spouse Visa

How to Legally Bring Your Spouse to the UK with a UK Spouse Visa: You are able to bring your wife, husband, or partner to the United Kingdom if you have a spouse visa for the United Kingdom. You will also be able to take any children or dependents who live with you and your spouse outside of the UK if you have this visa.

However, understanding the terms and conditions of the application can be difficult, as is the case with any visa. The following information will help you apply for a spouse visa in the United Kingdom and bring your partner to live there.

UK Spouse Visa Requirements
There are numerous standards you must complete to receive a UK spouse visa. You are responsible for ensuring that:

Conditions imposed by relationships
Financial requirements
Suitability requirements
Accommodation requirements
Prerequisites in the English language
In addition to this, you are need to file a legitimate application for a spouse visa to the UK. When applying from within the UK, spouses are subject to the same stringent immigration rules as their partners.

As part of the application procedure, spouses who are applying for spousal visas and entrance into the UK from a country other than the UK are required to provide a Tuberculosis (TB) certificate.

Prerequisites for a Relationship
The type of application for a spouse visa in the United Kingdom that you submit is determined by the dynamics of your relationship with your sponsor.

This is due to the fact that the Appendix FM of the Immigration Rules contains subcategories that encompass a variety of different kinds of relationships, including the following:

Marriage
Partnership between citizens
Fiancé(e) or prospective civil partner
Partners who are not married
A large amount of overlap exists between the qualifications for a spouse through marriage and those through a civil partnership. The only noticeable distinction is that those who wish to become civil partners are required to provide a certificate of civil partnership rather than a marriage license.

Before being eligible to submit an application for a spouse visa in the United Kingdom, an unmarried partner must be able to demonstrate that they have been living with their partner in a relationship that is equivalent to marriage or a civil partnership for at least two years.

It is not only up to the applicant to ensure that they satisfy all of the requirements. The sponsoring or UK partner is required to provide evidence that they are:

A person who holds British citizenship.
Existing and residing in the United Kingdom
Achieved pre-settlement status by participating in the EU Settlement Scheme.
Immigrated and obtained status as a refugee or humanitarian protection recipient.
The United Kingdom partner does not have to fulfill all of these requirements, but they must fulfill at least one of them.

It is important to keep in mind that an established relationship is exempt from immigration limitations. Either they have been granted Indefinite Leave to Remain or they have obtained UK residency in accordance with EU law.

At the time of the application, it is also a possibility for a present UK partner to be residing outside of the UK with their partner. However, in order to obtain a spouse visa for the United Kingdom, both the applicant and their current partner will need to demonstrate an intention to reside together in the United Kingdom.

Financial Requirements
The requirements for the UK spouse visa are extremely stringent, which can be confusing for applicants and frequently leads them to underestimate the requirements for the visa.

Immigration emphasizes that applicants comprehend the following:

How they manage to adhere to the particular monetary needs
The regulations for incorporating and combining income when applying for benefits
Application rules about financial paperwork
These guidelines have a lot of nuances. For instance, only UK spouses or potential spouses who are legally able to work in the UK or who presently possess a visa that permits them to work in the UK are able to include a record of employment with their application. This also applies to potential spouses.

To put it another way, the person applying for a spouse visa in the UK must have an annual income of at least £18,600, or if they want to rely on cash savings, they must have £62,000 in the bank.

This could change, though, if you and your spouse have the responsibility of providing for dependents or children. In this scenario, you are required to prove an additional £3,800 for your first child and £2,400 for each additional child following the first one. However, this does not apply if any of your dependant children happen to be British.
