Hello everyone I'm new here. I submitted through paper route on Sept 14 at lekki. Is anyone in the same shoes as me.

I'm getting anxious. Also is there an alternative to checking application. I have only been checking through vfs tracking site. It's just saying your application is being processed at Accra. It seems there's another way people are checking their status.

I would appreciate a response from the house gurus.

Thanks.

I think reading from this forum you have to link your paper application online to get more details than the VFS tracking platform. How to link your paper application, is what I do not know. But ask Austinpee or on here and hopefully u would get a response. It would end in praise IJN (Amen).

Guess you didn't do NYSC or any paid part time job before your master program. If so, try PhD. Goodluck.

The only paid part time job I did was at McDonald Restaurant in the UK for 2years before doing my Masters.

To be able to apply for permanent residence under d express entry program, u need a minimum of 1 year work experience in jobs classified under NOC 0, A or B. So based on d information u provided, u do not qualify. However, u can use d student option.

Thank you for your opinion God bless.

Hi all,

I am new here. I came here through the link posted by @osemigho on the Canadian Student Visa thread based on my case. I need ur opinion if I truly qualify for and express entry or any form of entry into canada. I have a BSc in International Law and Diplomacy from Nigeria, LLB from the UK and An LLM from the UK as well.I just recently graduated this year and do not have a professional working experience. I am not called to bar in any country and I have not done NYSC.

What do you think house? Plsssssssssssss I need your opinions.

Thank you for ur time in advance.

Regards.

Thought I advise you and any other with profile like yours to join express entry thread.

While many are refused here, many are getting their PRs there. Go to where you have higher chance - Express entry.

When you get your PR, you can go back to any school, even their high school, if that is what you truly desire.

@osemigho I am not yet called to bar in Nigeria or anywhere else. I am just a fresh Masters graduate and don't have a year work experience that would fetch me more marks for the express entry that y. What do u suggest I do pls?

Thank you all for your time.

Have you been called to the Nigerian Bar ? If so, then that your proposed program is a no no. It's raises a red flag already. Paralegal only provide auxiliary services to lawyers. If you're already a lawyer, no VO would see the sense in pursuing a career in paralegal when you already have a career in the legal profession. This move will not be considered an academic or a professional progression. If you'd ask me, it's technically a regression. A VO would want to know if your proposed program will advance your career. Except you are not yet a lawyer, then your application with this program might be an exercise in futility more particularly since you already possess an llm. Pls be properly guided.

However, please seek comprehensive opinions about this before you take further steps.

Kind regards.
I am not yet called to bar in Nigeria or anywhere else that the main reason I did not think of considering express entry as well because of work experience. @osemigho @yemdogg

@thesoj I am new here and I have read all ur comment on Canadian travel visa forum. Please I want to kindly request your help to receive my SOP. I applied for study permit March 22 2017 and got the refusal letter in May 29 2017. Although, I initially did not write an SOP because it was not part of the document in the checklist to apply. I intend to study a PGC in Paralegal. I have a BSc in international law and Diplomacy from Nigeria, LLB and LLM from UK. Please kindly reply.

Thanks.

Kind regards.

Please can someone reply me now plasmas I beg. @osemigho

Hey. I think in my opinion since you have an llm which is a masters degree in law you should try and go for a PhD instead not a PGD which is a lower degree. That's just my opinion

I know but I applied for PhD and yet I have not gotten a decision and it's for this fall. I got my visa notes and the purpose of first denial was that I have not convince them that I would return back home that all. I did not over stay in the UK. I came home before my visa expires.
