studyexec: Guys, please can you advice and give your thoughts on this.

I registered a Ltd company a couple of years ago with purposes for consulting, construction, agriculture, etc. However, I have not operated it since then. I intend to run the company now, focusing on the agric business I submitted for Youwin! grant.

Can I use this conglomerate-ish company for the Youwin! programme?
Or in another way, must the business name / Ltd company you register with CAC be solely setup for the type of business you are requesting the grant for?

Thanks in advance.

PS: Calling Youwin! for clarification has not helped much!

Yes you can. Provided your share in the said comp. is not less than 51 percent as required by you win. Also , in so far as agriculture is part of the object clause and it is also an agricultural biz you applied for in the you win, then its perfect.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Nigerian Army DSSC and SSC 2014 Aspirants by juri: 10:18pm On Jul 28, 2014
The HTACOS Officers 2012 (Revised) stipulates that an officer holding a substantive rank will be retired on reaching the age indicated for that rank. This age ceiling, also known as Run Out Date (ROD), for the various types of commission in the Armed Forces is attached.

The implication of the foregoing is that every officer must be conversant with his/her ROD well ahead of the due date for effective retirement planning. ROD is calculated for each officer based on the individual’s birthday and the age ceiling indicated for his/her rank and commission. It is important to note that while the date of birth is constant, the age ceiling changes for each rank. Accordingly, one’s ROD changes with rank and must be recalculated every time one is promoted.

Highlight of the HTACOS is that it has effectively scrapped the years of service of 35 years of service and fully embraced the age on rank bracket to enable the Armed Forces to continue to tap from the experiences of its officers as is done in the Armed Forces of such nations as India, Britain and United States, well beyond the present retirement rules. This means that as long as officers and men of the Nigerian military pass the necessary promotion board examinations, they would not be retired just because they have served 35 years. But that will now depend on their Run Out Date (ROD).

But effectively, the HTACOS starts with the 36th Course and their equivalents and above. The 36th Course members were the first set to start full degree programmes at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA). Before then, Courses 1 to 35 studied and graduated with the National Certificate in Education (NCE) from the NDA.

Under the new HTACOS, RODs were extended. Now, the ROD for Regular Commissioned Officers under the HTACOS for Lieutenant or its equivalent in the Navy and Air Force is 39 years, Captain or its equivalent- 46, Major or its equivalent - 50, Lieutenant Colonel or its equivalent - 53, Colonel or its equivalent - 54, Brigadier-General or its equivalent - 56, Major- General or its equivalent - 57, Lieutenant-General or its equivalent - 59 and General or its equivalent remains 60. An officer holding a substantive rank will be retired on reaching the age indicated for that rank.

In addition to having the retirement age to be beyond 35 years in service, Brigadier-Generals and their equivalents will be entitled to have in retirement the services of an orderly, driver and a steward, unless such officer specifically opts out of such arrangement. The number of such personal staff is expectedly higher for Major Generals and their equivalents.

sarajevo: my letter of attestation of good character and local govt of origin was written and signed by my local govt chairman all in one letter headed paper. my question is, is it still necessary for him to sign the NAF printed LGA attestation form?

ps. I am asking this because i got the letter ready before even printing the one from NAF website.

Please note the following:

1. There is no way your letter of attestation of good character and local govt of origin can be WRITTEN and signed by your local govt chairman ALL IN ONE LETTER HEADED PAPER.

2. Your L.G.A OF ORIGIN Document ought to be a CERTIFICATE not a letter.

3. The letter of attestation of good character yes can be written (Preferably though TYPED: It is a very formal letter and should be as formal as it can get) by your L.G.A Chairman.

4. NAF printed LGA attestation form can be signed by your L.G.A Chairman.

5. How ever, if he is the one to sign your attestation letter, then, someone ells should sign your NAF printed LGA attestation form the list of people that can do it are there.

6. Please not that his (your L.G.A chairman’s) signature on your L.G.A CERTIFICATE does not invalidate either your letter of attestation of good character or NAF printed LGA attestation form if you choose to give him or her either one of them. All CERTIFICATES of L.G.A of origins are usually signed by L.G.A Chairmen or Secretaries. Although I will be surprised if you say you don’t have L.G.A OF ORIGINS CERTIFICATE because am very sure you must have used it at one stage or the other in your school as part of admission documents or for something ells, that is if you schooled in Nigeria.

7. I just hope you are not confusing L.G.A OF ORIGINS CERTIFICATE (WHICH IS ACTUALLY A CERTIFICATE) with NAF printed LGA attestation form which is actually a form and can be attested to by “Chairmen/Secretaries, Magistrates, Principals of government secondary schools and a military officer not below the rank of Wing Commander or equivalent in the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Navy, and Police Officer of the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police and above, who hails from applicant's state of origin.” Take your pick. NO TIMEOOOOO!
Please take not of Highlighted words and Phrases.

FOR ALL OF U SAYIN THE COMMANDANT THE THIS AND DAT....LISTEN CAREFULLY IN CASE U DIDNT READ THE INSTRUCTIONS PROPERLY.... IT SAID THE ATTESTATION LETTER OF GOOD CONDUCT SHUD BE ADDRESSED TO THE OFFICER IN CHARGE OF THE ZONAL ENLISTMENT EXERCISE... this is my humble submission... thankyou

"Additionally, applicants are to bring with them a letters of attestation of good character from Two (2) prominent persons from their state of origin to the officer in charge of the Zonal Enlistment Exercise."

No offense intended, but a letter of attestation of good character to be brought to the officer in charge of the Zonal Enlistment Exercise does not necessarily mean it is to be addressed to the officer in charge of the Zonal Enlistment Exercise (although it will not be out of place; that was what I did anyway). "By the way, there is no such thing as the Commandant, Nigerian Airforce bas Head Quarters, Abuja" as someone seems to be suggesting.
