The Governor of Zamfara State Abdulaziz Yari who was reported to have gone extra miles in a desperate bid to persuade President Buhari to change his mind on his earlier objection to Yari’s move to marry his daughter Zahra, was said to have argued that the President does not have the moral right to reject his overtures to marry Zahra on account of age because Buhari is over 30years older than Aisha
.
Yari was said to have argued following reports that, “The President wants his daughter to marry someone not as old as Governor Yari,”
According to a source who shares family relationship with Governor Yari, he said the only stumbling block to Yari’s marriage to the President’s daughter is the President who was said to have given a stern warning to his daughter to stay away from the Governor.
The Zamfara State Governor according to sources close to the presidency, has gone as far as dolling out gifts to the first lady and other members of the Buhari family.
He is also alleged to have funded the First Lady’s recent Hajj trip to Saudi Arabia with $1million.
As part of his moves, Yari enlisted the husband of Halima, elder daughter of Buhari, showered him gifts including awarding him contracts in Zamfara state to persuade the first family into accepting his overtures to marry the President’s daughter who just graduated from a British University.

When it comes to treating cancer, getting diagnosed early really can mean the difference between life and death.

However a patient survey revealed that more than half of Brits ignore “red-flag” symptoms because they are worried about wasting their doctor’s time.

Many weren’t aware of the sings of cancer and blamed their ailments on ageing.

So what are the early symptoms to look out for?

Some of the potential early warning signs of cancer include:

1. Unexplained weight loss or a sore that does not heal

2. A persistent cough or hoarseness, a lump, diarrhoea or constipation

3. Moles with an irregular shape or jagged edges should be checked by a GP.

4. A feeling of not having fully emptied your bowels after going to the toilet are other signs

5. Blood in vomit, urine or faeces, bleeding between periods.

According to the survey of more than 1,700 people over the age of 50, more than 50% of people in the UK had experienced at least one of these symptoms, but only 2% thought cancer could be the cause.

The study, by Cancer Research, found that the majority of people were worried that there GP would think their complaint was trivial.

Others said they were too scared of a cancer diagnosis to seek help and some believed in maintaining a “stiff upper lip”. And worryingly a large proportion of Brits hadn’t gone to see a medical professional because they lacked confidence in the health system.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, accounting for almost a sixth (15%) of all cases in males and females combined.

The next most common is prostate cancer (13%) followed by lung (13%) and bowel (12%).

Former Rivers state Governor, Rotimi Amaechi has written to Bancorp Bank in Minnesota in the United States that the alleged $757 million Dollars domiciled in an account in his name; was authorized by him in error; from a Rivers State Government Account with Access Bank Plc. The Nigerian most corrupt governor according to CNN letter reveals that a similar letter was also written to a bank in Switzerland; stating that a similar authorization was made in error.

The letter stated that the said transfers to both banks were for the purchase of security Helicopters, payments to a foreign company to combat malaria in Rivers state by using helicopters to spray mosquito insecticides, and for the purchase of an official residence for Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, in America.

The letter further explains that, the payments for the security helicopters, and mosquito insecticides to fight malaria were made through other sources, after the funds had already been transferred abroad. He reminded the bank that the Rivers state law on his severance package, provides for an official residence for a former governor; of which he chose to have his residence in America.

Amaechi said that, this law was later amended to have his official residence built in Nigeria, after the funds had already been transferred to Bancorp/Minnesota Account.
Mr. Amaechi said these changes were the reasons he communicated the consultants for purchase of security helicopters, his official residence in the U.S and the Insecticide companies not to access the funds; since they have been paid through other sources.

On receipt of the governor’s letter by the Bancorp Bank, the bank has written to the Federal Government of Nigeria to repatriate the said funds to Rivers State treasury.
Investigations further revealed that President Buhari is not disposed to this request to repatriate the said funds without a trial of the former governor; to ascertain the governor’s alleged errors in these transactions.

“Why would it take Christiane Amanpour of CNN, to remind Amaechi of such errors of over N80 billion Naira public funds in two different countries, and why in his name ?” Queried the Presidency. Recall that Christiane Amanpour accused the former governor of Rivers State; Mr. Rotimi Amaechi of stacking the sum of $757 million dollars (N80 billion Naira) in Bancorp Bank in Minnesota in The harder they fall!

A woman has been arrested for marrying her two of her children

The 43-year-old woman identified as Patricia Ann Spann, reportedly married one of her sons about 8 years ago, and has now married her 25-year-old daughter Misty Velvet Dawn Spann.

Following a visit from a child welfare investigator who reported them to the police earlier this year, the mother and daughter duo were declared wanted on charges of incest.

According to reports, she had married Misty on March 25, using a fake name ‘Clayton’, meanwhile it was also one of the names she wrote down when she married her son Jody Spann Jr, eight years ago. Jody later had the marriage annulled, citing incest as one of his reasons for wanting an annulm


Patricia had earlier told the welfare worker that she lost custody of her three children to their father’s mother, and that she only reunited with her daughter and fell in love with her about two years ago.

The police said that the ‘lovebirds’ (odiegwu o) admitted that they were related biologically and that they also had a proper wedding. Patricia also claimed she did not feel like she had violated any laws, seeing as her name had been cleaned off her daughter’s birth certificate.

The NFF have ensured that the N10m reward received from the Akwa Ibom State Government is to be used as camp allowances instead of gift as intended by the Akwa Ibom Government.

Super Eagles players and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are at war over the N10m gift from the Akwa Ibom State Government for their 1-0 victory over Tanzania in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Saturday, September 3.

The reward comes following the inability of the NFF to pay match bonuses to the players for the dead rubber game against Tanzania.



The players are however furious with the NFF who have converted the N10m to camp allowances.

The players were surprised to hear that the N10m will be used as their camp allowances instead of a separate reward from the Akwa Ibom State Government.

According to sources close to the team, the players were informed that they won’t be getting any bonuses for the games due to unavailability of funds to the Sports Ministry.

The first and only female Prime Minister of India, Indira was the daughter of the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. She first served as Prime Minister from 1966 to 1977, before losing her seat to the Janata alliance.

She later won a bye-election in 1978 but was arrested along with her son Sanjay Gandhi by the Janata government on some trumped up charges but was released after the collapse of the Janata coalition.

In 1980, Indira Gandhi once again became Prime Minister but was assassinated by her bodyguards in 1984 for ordering the storming of the Harmandir Sahib as a countermeasure to the Punjab insurgency.

2. Fidel Castro [Cuba]



The son of his father’s maid, Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz and his brother Raul were captured and sentenced to 15 years in prison, after their group “The Movement” staged a failed attack on the Moncada barracks on July 26, 1953.

Released in 1955 they traveled to Mexico, where they metErnesto “Che” Guevara who helped them mount a series of successful military campaigns, that eventually led to the collapse of General Fulgencio Batista’s government in January 1959.

Manuel Urrutia was then installed as president while José Miró Cardona became prime minister. But after just a month Miro resigned, and Castro was sworn in as prime minister at the age of 32.

3. Dilma Vana[Brazil]



Daughter of a Bulgarian immigrant, Dilma Rousseff joined various guerilla groups which fought against the dictatorship in 1964 before she was captured, tortured, and locked up between 1970 and 1972.

The Mensalao corruption scandal in 2005, saw her become the Chief of Staff of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and in March 2010 she resigned to run for president.

Dilma Rousseff became Brazil’s first female president in 2010 and was re-elected again in 2014, but was suspended by the senate for six months on 12 May 2016, before she was finally impeached on 31 August 2016.

4. Kim Dae Jung [South Korea]



Referred to as the “Nelson Mandela” of Asia, Kim Dae-Jungwas arrested in 1980 and sentenced to death. But the intervention of the United States and the Pope John II, saw his sentence changed to 20 years in prison, then to an exile in the US.

In 1985, Kim returned to South Korea and was once again put under house arrest, before losing the first transparent elections held in a long time by dictator Chun Doo-hwan after succumbing to pressure.

Finally, after trying four times, Kim Dae-Jung defeated Lee Hoi-Chang and was sworn in as the eighth President of South Korea on 25 February 1998.

5. Nelson Mandela [South Africa]



A lawyer by profession Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela joined theANC in the late 1940s, co-founded its Youth League and before being appointed President of the ANC’s Transvaal branch.

He was sentenced to life in prison in 1962 for conspiring against the state after his militant group Umkhonto we Sizwe, launched a sabotage campaign against the government but was freed in 1990 after serving 27 years.

In 1994 Mandela became the first black President of South Africa after winning a multiracial general election. A true statesman, he only served one term before handing over the reins to Thabo Mbeki.
