OK VO, but i don't know your name probably i will ask for that when my date is getting close so i dont forget it cause i will really like to greet you when i come.
Thanks for the kind words! We officers take cases in the order that they're ready for us, so odds are someone else will do your interview; but feel free to ask if I'm around before you leave. cool

VisaOfficer:

Good morning vo thanks for your reply i went through the link and got the packet 4 and i have been able to book my medical for next month, please do i still need to come with a signed copy of the form i-864 for my interview.

thank you.

Greetings! It should be okay to schedule the medical appointment a week prior to your interview date, but please do check with the panel physician. The police certificate is valid for one year, from our point of view. The best advice I can give you is to review http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visas.html and http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visa_forms.html -- it's likely that all your questions will find answers there.

Glad to hear you have your interview date! The nest thing to do would be to contact the panel physicians directly, let them know you have a Dec. 30 interview, and ask them for an appointment that will let you bring your paperwork to the interview.

Thank you ma, but i will also like to know if its ok to schedule the medical a week to my interview date, and also my police clearance i sent to NVC says its valid for 3 months and that will be at the end of this November but the NVC letter is stating that the clearance is valid for a whole year so am a bit confused here do i need to go get another police clearance when coming for my interview and also am i going to receive anything from the consulate in Lagos that i will be needing for my interview.

thank you.

Dear CO

Thank you for all the advice you have been giving to my fellow Nairalanders, i have been following this thread for a long while ever since we started our immigrant visa process last year and it has been very useful to me i recently got a mail from the NVC informing me of my interview that has been scheduled for 30th of Dec 2014 and am very excited about it and i pray everything goes well for me during my interview so me and my hubby can be united. Please ma my question is am i going to get any other mail or document that i will be needing to attend the interview from the lagos consulate if yes by '' email or mail '' secondly how soon can i schedule my medicals as i currently live in Abuja and its only done in Lagos can i schedule it like 1 weeks to my interview date will that be too close cos i am think about using 1 stone to kill 2 birds i.e come to Lagos around 20-22 of December do the medicals and stay till 30th for my interview so i don't shuttle Abuja/Lagos twice as the roads will be very busy because of the festive season.

Thank you.

Somorin#1:

While you await the most generous VO, please have your Husband go to the USCIS website and study expedite processing which is available for active military members who are going to be deployed. So if your Husband is going to go on another deployment then he should look into it.

Thank you both for your service to our nation (military Wives also serve the nation too, albeit indirectly).

Thanks for your reply but my husband does not have any deployment coming soon to the best of my knowledge and we have already explored the option of getting a letter from the head of his unit asking for expedition but was asked to get a deployment letter which is not available at the moment. so what other options will u suggest to speed up the process. thank you.

Hi all am really grateful for the comments and contributions of some us here on this thread cos its been really helpful to alot of people like myself, i have a little concern that i will like someone with experience or ideas to help me with

* i currently applied for i129f to enable me join my spouse in the US, but for the past 2months now my case statue have not changed and no positive word from the USCIS.
* I was invited to the UK by my in-laws who are British citizens and live in the UK to come for Xmas Holiday.
my question is will it have any effect on my US application if i go ahead and apply for the UK VISA and get turned down since my application with the US is still pending.

I will really appreciate positive response to my question. thanks
