Career / All Salary Earners Must Read This!!!!!!!! by kayfam(m): 5:35pm On Aug 22, 2016
Copied. Soooo funny....

...................RELAX
All salary people must read this...

After 4 years of selfless service, I realized that I had not been promoted, no salary increment, no commendation.

So I decided to walk up to my HR Manager.

The manager looked at me, smiled and asked me to sit down saying:-

"My friend, you have not worked here for even a single day!"

I was shocked to hear that!

But the manager went on to explain, and here's the conversation that took place....

Manager: How many days are there in a year?

Me: 365 days and sometimes 366.

Manager: Do you come to work on weekends?

Me: No Sir.

Manager: How many days are there in a year that are weekends?

Me: 52 Saturdays and 52 Sundays equals to 104 days.

Manager: Thanks for that. If you remove 104 days from 366 days. how many days do you now have?

Me: 262 days

Manager: How many hours make up a day?

Me: 24 Hours.

Manager: How long do you work in a day?

Me: 10am to 6pm - 8 hours a day.

Manager: So, what fraction of the day do you work in hours?

Me: 8/24 i.e 1/3 (one third).

Manager: This is nice of you! what is 1/3rd of 262 days?

Me: 87
(1/3 x 262 = 87days)

Manager: I do give you 2 weeks sick leave, 15 days casual leave, 5 days optional leave, 30 days earned leave every year. Now remove that 64 days from the 87 days left. How many days do you have remaining?

Me: 23 days.

Manager: Do you work during the various recognized festivals? (20 days)

Me: No Sir!

Manager: Do you work on Democracy Day?

Me: No sir!

Manager: Do you come to work on Independence Day?

Me: No sir!
Manager: So how many days left?

Me: 1 day sir!

Manager: Do you come to work on New Year's Day?

Me: No sir!!

Manager: So how many days are left?

Me: None Sir!

Manager: So what are you claiming?

Me: I now understand, Sir. I did not realise that I was stealing company
money all these days.

I really didn't like this man when he was the President, because he seemed to be too soft for my own liking, it's his softness that made the people he surrounded himself with to take him for granted and they looted so much while in his cabinet.

However, to be honest, GEJ is a good man with good heart, he's humility personified, he had regard for rule of law and simple to a fault.

For those cursing and hating him, calling him all sorts of degrading names, unprintable names, if we're to compare side by side, can your Messiah in the person of GMB ever do what GEJ did in the last election? Can he ever put the citizens above his ambitions? I doubt it.

If you can call GEJ such unprintable names, what do we now call PMB who has taken overdose of nepotism, favouritism, insensitivity and all sorts that he is showing.

The truth is that all our leaders, past and present, old and young are corrupt and visions-less, but one is still preferable to the other.

With the way things are going now, very many people in this country will still prefer GEJ to PMB.

Shall we say dat ASUU got it wrong?

Does ASUU understand the government of subsidy?

Shall we say dat 70& of ASUU members fully support the position of their union regarding going on strike due to subsidy remover?

I & many of my colleague do not support the union decision of embarking on industrial action.

At our Congress today many did not support ASUU going on strike but as long as the national has made up their mind in joining NLC, what else.

The point is dat let us give the present government a trial for some period and see what shall happened to the price and economy.

Why Jonathan's subsidy remover was greeted with nation wide protest and strike was dat he was not trusted and transparent with public fund management unlike Buhari regime.

Remember gsm service provider case dat at first, it was so expensive to belong, but today due to multi player of competitors, any one can easily acquire it.

My opinion for you.

Thanks

Business / Re: My Mum's Experience With WEMA BANK by kayfam(m): 10:39pm On Nov 29, 2015
gElite:
Before I go on, please note this is not a sponsored post or an attempt to tarnish the image of the said bank. I know they are very active on social media platforms. So I believe i can be heard via this medium. This actually happened to my mum.

Just last month she told me to help her withdraw some amount from an ATM nearby, on getting there I discovered that all the money in her account was gone. A complaint was made and we were told there was a fraudulent transaction on her card so her account was temporary blocked till all investigations are concluded. They showed us the cash that was being held pending when all investigations are completed.. In my mind, i was like.. Good job! You guys are performers.
We were advised to block the card and request a new one. At this point my mum was like, they should block it and about getting a new one, Forget it. She said she wouldn't mind queueing to get her cash. So long it is safe.

We waited for about 3 weeks then we got a credit alert of the amount that was temporarily held but we didn't get a refund for the said fraudulent transaction (Voice mail things) although we really didn't bother because it was just about 1000 naira for Web recharge.

Just two days ago, Friday the 27th of November, she went to the bank (to queue of course) and withdraw her money. She was told she didn't have any money in her account that there was a repeated N1000 pay with capture transactions on her account till all cash was gone. So I asked few questions..

1. What happened to the blocked ATM?
2. What happened to the N4 per SMS alert she gets per transaction? Or is she defaulting for any month thereby making her suspended from using this service as we didn't get any alert?

They said they would look into it and get back to us. So we asked if there was any chance of recovering this cash because we remembered what happened to the last one as this case is not of the cash being held. Then the customer representative pointing at a member of staff told us.. "see that man over there, His last month salary was wiped clean not too long after payment and up till now it hasn't been rectified so she can't really comment on that" then I smiled.

When this issue was raised in my house, my bro said up till last month when his old wema atm expired, he said he could use both the old verve and new Mastercard atms to withdraw cash on any atm.. Was like, I don't bilivit.. Sis also shared experience of her friend's husband. He said he had to let go of his cash.

We have called purple connect and we were told this is being looked into. Be sure to get an update from me when I hear from them.

Now my advise to all Nairalanders ... It is very evident that WEMA bank hasn't gotten it's e-channel thing right, so my advice,
1. Maintain a savings account with them because they have fairly reasonable interest compared to other banks I have used.
2. Steer clear of their e-channels for now at least till they get things right. I'll recommend gtb, access or diamond. But GTB most especially.

What are your experiences with Nigerian banks?

cc: lalastical

Well I have my own share of the story. Early this month, I saw some alert on my phone of debit and credit 3times, I was debited 3times and credit 3times, but lucky for me I checked account balance a night before, so I was sure of balance. I notice my account was debited of 1000 three times. I went to a branch of wema bank to complain and we notice the transaction was done on Web capture. I was asked did I use my Master card to pay for anything online or did I use quickteller? I remember, I used quick teller to do some transfer, I was told to block the card straight away and got some explanations that quick teller was not a secure platform to transfer money. Most of the staff there just wished me congratulations that all my cash was not transferred. Thank you for providing this option of CBN. I will try to explore the option also and see the out come of the result.

Trust me, you will get your money back.
