Definitely gonna be a tough game. Especially as Manchester city is playing at home. Actually want them to thrash Bayern for a change, they're beginning to feel almost invincible. Man city all the way wink

@KDB

Shell incentives seems to really have no rival in the oil and Gas company in Nigeria.

@KDB
As regards tribalism, the major problem with Mobil is like they scarcely blv in quota system, they seem to blv much on merit but alas Nigerians are in charge so merit atime is aligned with tribalism.

There are also claims from some quaters that Yorubas also dominate both Chevron and Shell (sic).

However on a neutral ground, for now, Yorubas may still be dominating many sectors of Nigeria that requires high skill. Those yoruba people seems to be ahead of other tribes in terms of western education.

well, if you wana put it that way, then yeah, the yoruba's are ahead of other regions when it come to the education, but, in this case, its not about the education, there obviously a lil 'man know man'' thing goin on, hence the use of their language within office premises n stuff, anyways, i guess its a ''man knw man' world nowadays,

@tommyvex

where dýou get ur info from man??

i'd have gone with

mobil
shell
chevron
nlng,

no matter the order man, its shell for me, grin grin grin

good day all!!!!!!!!!!! barely 2 weeks to go!!!!!!!!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by KDB(m): 12:10am On Mar 16, 2008
Robbie Lex:

Hmmmmmm seems we have a lot of hot cakes on this thread.

KDB - mobil shell
Deionowei - agip shell

So kdb what was the key deciding factor for you,
so many people faced in similar situations would always look for the one that pays higher, obviously you didnt,

So why did you eventually choose shell instead of mobil?

ma man, it took a while, but i think after quite an ivestigation i concluded shell is better organised in nigeria than mobil, for example, tribalism hardly exists in shell as staff are of various tribes n ethnic groups, but on the contrary, mobil is completely dominated by the yoruba's, (fact), and i might add, imagine a scenario whereby your in the office and everyones speakin yoruba?? angry, its pretty fustrating,

secondly, who say's mobil pays better?? it only seems that way cos they dont have as much benefits as shell does, well that depends on what your looking for i guess, but ultimately, in terms of pay, i wld say shell wld be on top,

then of course shell has better staff care/welfare if you know what i mean, everythin wit mobil is always stress (in nigeria that is), i remember a couple of site inspections/evaluations i did with some of the staff while i was serving, and their logistics was shockin, flight scheduling was almost always wrong n hotel accomodations where always few n far between, as compared to shell,

all these are but to mention a few,

well these are jus my views, am sure some peeps wld disagree but they are facts,

good evening all!!!!!!!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by KDB(m): 9:42pm On Mar 14, 2008
hey guys, come to think of it, i had a little dilemma a couple of months back, pretty much about the same issue, jus as i had been called for my medicals with shell, two days later i got a call for medicals with mobil, after my service wit mobil (sept last yr), i had an interview n was told it wld be for contract, kinda happens they changed their minds n wanted to employ me, after days n nights of thinkin n askin peeps i eventually ''stayed on this thread'' if you know what i mean, lol smiley grin grin

but ultimately i'd say it be up to you, i guess i was jus lucky enough to hav had experience with both companies which was vital, n it so happened my heart was always with shell,

deinowei:

Thank you all for all the wonderful contributions, Shell has a lot of history in my family, so when i got the offer from Agip i just wanted to experiment and try something different. But after what we have being through in the past two days i definitely agree Shell is well organised and even pays better. Agip is almost like every other Nigerian company, NO PROPER ORGANISATION.

hmm, couldnt have said so better myself, so i guess you've pretty much made up your mind now, wink wink wink

KDB at the same time, I have seen peeps who left Shell (SITP) for Chevron and Total.
Although leaving one job for another is not always or absolutely for money alone.

yea ive seen that too, but thats chevron n total, hey i'd consider leavin shell if they wanted me, anyways,your right though i guess everyone has his or her reason for moving from one company to the next, nice point man,
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by KDB(m): 8:46pm On Mar 13, 2008
as in, its obvious isnt it?? i know alot of peeps over at agip that wld give anything to be at shell, besides, despite all the problems shell's been going through of late their still the number 1 oil company nigeria (economically, profit-wise, staff care, name it), and second to mobil in the world, so am guessin you'd probably go more places with shell, but then again who am i to choose for you?? its jus my opinion, i'd go along with teemee n Rob lex if i were you though, but am pretty sure i'll see u in warri come 1st of april, cheesy cheesy cheesy

Hi guys,
Just finished work for 2day in this crazy bank I work. i am still in the dark about outcome of my SRD and would see what would happen after the march 4th deadline given by shell tohose that were successful.
I have call every number I have in HR except Ifedon whom I have not been able to access but they keep on telling me to wait so I guess all I can do is to still wait.
KDB and co how are you guys preparing for ELV? wish you guys the best.

ma broda we doing good, and frankly i cant wait, i got responsibilities man cool cool cool

man you looked by far the most worked up shell hopefull on this thread, you need to take a lil easy aight, what will be will be, if shell aint for ya then am sure theres better somewhere else n real soon, all in Gods time mate, i go call you later,

too other shell hopefulls, give shell a break aight, this isnt jus a recruitment exercise or something, its actually for employment with the company, so naturally its gonna take some time, besides, word is their taking alot more than they did last yr, 80 peeps went in last yr as compared to the 120 peeps going in this yr so y'all can imagine,

anyways february is over and we are now entering march so whatever the outcome, everyone will know his or her fate within the net two weeks,

keep your heads up ok guys, stay prayerfull n blessed, wink wink wink
