A little prattle to all those white fouls that have just been displaced from camp. The 1st few weeks after camp could be the most difficult and also a defining period. Some will just walk into their PPA, receive their acceptance letter and even enjoy 2 weeks hols. While some will just go there and get rejected straight away. Some others will be told to go and come back the next day and the next and the next to nauseating extremes until they luckily accept or to your agony reject you. While some will even go and discover their PPA doesn't exist. There'll sure be some that'll will be posted to 1 useless PPA that they're not paying or doing anything and will have to beg for rejection. Amongst these ones, some will be rejected, others wouldn't. Then amongst these corpers, some will just go home and not know what to do with their lives apart from eating and sleeping. While some might even go to lengths such as paying for rejection. Corp members could be split into residents and the non-residents. After camp, most of the locals locate their parent's houses. While the non-residents locate a place to crash. Amongst the non-residents, there are those who have relations or friends' place to crash at, then the rest major scavengers. The scavengers locate the nearest fellowship lounge and lay their head or just some newly acquired friend's crib. For those who were rejected from their initial PPA, they start scavenging, visiting organizations, pleading for a retain or dropping applications and attending interviews. You get a lot of "Corper wee!!" as you frustratingly roam the whole state in search of PPA and minute help. Sometimes it gets so frustrating you just give up. Then go to your local government & request for new PPA and wait forever to be posted anywhere. While all these PPA drama is going on, the non-residents also have to look for apartments. And when they finally get, they rent in pairs, groups or individually. And that's 1 hectic waka. Finally, after all the steam have settled down, you've got your accomodation and your PPA; then it's round 2. If your accomodation was granted you by your organization, lesser drama but if not, its just started. During NYSC, probably you're not gonna get any more money from relations (if you were getting before) excluding the 1st accommodation rent. If you're a resident then your feeding is sure. But if not, then you're on your own. Some days, you're just gloom all through at work coz your mind is stormed with bills, bills spent and those waiting for you at home. Your rent, water, electricity bill; then feeding, outrageous T-fair and lots others. All from this your small alawee and little addition of a salary. Mom & dad have dusted their hands from your case. Probably you had some business back at your state but now you're in another man's land. You've got to start your hustle from aground. If you serve in a private school then there's little probability of being a lesson teacher. If not, then the hustle is from scratch. During this period, most female corpers start going into the make-up biz full time and engage in braiding and other stuff but majorly make-up. The guys run around... To be transparent and clear, you probably don’t understand the effort it takes to make millions. After making money in such magnitude you’ll have to be sceptical about anyone asking you for some. Because almost all millionaires and billionaires have been scammed more than once before and still have scammers lurking around them every corner. They have invested in people’s dreams which seemed bright and had clear objectives but failed many not just once. After such life experiences you’ll sure only subscribe to ventures or people with guaranteed results. Talking financially, giving someone some money means lending them cash. Maybe not bills but liquid forms of money: bonds, stocks, a check; whatever. Millionaires and billionaires have majority of their money tied up to financial assets like real estate, investments, businesses. All these aimed at making their money work for them with profits on their initial investments. Therefore, its really difficult to transfer your equity (capital) just like that. The worth of this category of people is in their financial assets. Mark Zuckerberg net worth is $64 billion. It doesn’t mean he has $64 billion in his account. Maybe he just has a million dollars in his personal account. So they can’t just go to the bank and request some of their billions. Like Mark Zuckerberg can’t just go to the bank and demand a withdrawal of $500 million. These withdrawals take weeks or months to carry out. It involves liquidating your assets to cumulate the amount required. It would affect their whole market. To acquire such amounts, for some that have assets in real estate or investment accounts, it’ll involve sales of shares, payment Hope you get me? So a rich man doesn’t actually have millions just seating idle in an account somewhere. They have emergency accounts more like welfare accounts for family and basic stuff; or just emergency situations. Vast majority of the rich had to apply saving schemes frugally and invested these moneys accumulated. 1 Like 1 Share |
