What an interesting read. Same cabal wanting to run everything in Nigeria. God help us.

A satellite TV service is no public utility, which Nigerians believe they should not pay for. Even those utilities, these days, attract outrageous sums for which we derive no value. Why is the government interfering. Do they now suddenly care for the citizens their policies have impoverished?

This is a ridiculous attempt by the government to deflect attention from their failure in managing the country.

This is ridiculous!
I'm not a fan of Multichoice but it doesn't make sense. So when the government decides to increase tax they didn't know it was hard times?
If we keep quiet now because it's multichoice, very soon it will hit all of us.

The bastards at NCC collect bribe from Multi choice and look the other way, while Nigerians Suffer. This country is a ceespool

Go on with he victim & entitlement mentality. VAT is for the government not the company. Govt increased VAT that means the price has to change

It's not NCC.. it's NBC

Its neither NCC nor NBC. Its the federal govt. VAT was increased hence the price increase.

Nonsense.

Of all the things to protest about. Is DSTV an essential service? Do the poor really care about DSTV? Was it Multichoice that told the Federal Government to increase VAT? Isn't the increase a few hundreds of Naira in most cases?

The Nigerian middle-class could behave stupidly at times.

If you don't want, port to Startimes or other alternatives.

Loud itttt!!!!

See them.... Shameless things..
Defending evil only makes people see you for what you truly are...

Imagine paying for a month subscription and your street transformer goes off for two weeks..

Everywhere its pay as you use.. Except in this hell hole full of evil doers... Spits

Truth be told, the company can't bear vat costs on your behalf. No company does that

Why can't NCC stop DSTV/GoTv from cheating Nigerians?

We've said it times without number that the South African company should embrace "Pay as you go" system of billing just like it is in SA and other sane climes.

Why increase tariff when people hardly get value for the money they pay. This rubbish has to stop.

Its not cheating. The increase in price is due to increased VAT which has been since February. Multichoice has been bearing the cost since.

What a funny thread. People are complaining because a private company increased their non-essential services fees grin

Nigeria is a joke grin

You have a point there sha. Only that the increase is not for profit but to cover the increase in VAT

Multichoice is increasing tariffs in this period where people are losing their jobs left & right.
Las las, pipu wey go pay am, go pay am.

This is not true. The increase in price is due to increased VAT which has been since February. Multichoice has been bearing the cost since. For GOTV packages were upgraded with more channels.
TV/Movies / Re: Nigerians Groan, Protest DSTV/GOTV Tariff Increase by kemji47(m): 2:32pm On May 31, 2020
See ehn we forget that Dstv is like every other company whose goal is to make profit. When govt increased VAT from 5% to 7.5% multichoice didn't increase prices. They bore the extra cost for 4 months. Now they've adjusted is this the thank you we're giving them? Let's reason it. For how long will they continue to bear the cost? If you want to blame someone then blame the govt for increasing vat

if you'd like to do the plum test all over again, you may need to register a new gmail account then use the account to apply.

I know that but what I want to find out is if using the same email doesn't have any consequences. My plum assessment results are impressive I don't see the need opening another email to do it again.

I registered for class XI and was asked to take the plum test. On getting to the plum site I discovered I couldn't take the test because I had done so when I applied for class X. Please I don't know if this has any consequences.

That was exactly what I did. Though I studied computer science, we did near to nothing of programming. So I got ebooks and videos and did what I could do in my spare time. I started with Visual Basic cos it was quite easy to get through, then went along on to C++ and some Java. Later on I realized I really love the web, so I focused on web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and mySQL).
So yes. You can cope. You are smart, right? So your smarts is all you need. You might also need a mentor. grin
www.stackoverflow.com will also come handy in your journey.

Thanks I'll check that out

Hello guys, I applied for the class IX and just finished the home study course on dash. I have tried going back to review the course but it's as if I can't do that.
How exactly is the test because though I understood most of the stuff, I'm not convinced I have complete grasp of it. I'm quite new to programming. You could call me a novice.
