Family / Re: Help! Am I Wrong Asking My Wife To Talk To Her Mum by kemjoe: 3:27pm On Aug 29, 2022
UncleDaddy2017:
My wife recently put to bed our first child. While at the hospital, it's been my wife's godmother who travelled down from another state specifically to be with my wife. Infact, she came straight to the hospital and she has been the one sleeping there with her at night. While I stay with her by day. When am at the hospital to relieve her, she goes to our house to sleep.

My wife's mom and my mom (both live few streets away from ours) do come to the hospital during the day ... So fast forward to yesterday Sunday.

My mother-in-law told my wife she will come after church... Hours after church closed we still didn't see her. Only for her to show up with a big traveling bag. And she knew quite well that my wife's godmother put up at our house.

My house is a one bedroom apartment.

When she came, I asked my wife that now that her mom is here, how will all of us sleep in this house as my wife, our baby and the godmother will sleep in the room, while I stay in the sitting room. She became angry and said they will all stay in the room. But that if I don't want her mom to stay in the house, she will just tell her to go away.

So I told her that the proper thing to do is tell her mom to wait till Wednesday when the godmother lives, then she can come. Besides her house is only few streets away. She can be coming during the day and go back home.

So this night now, the mom has bathed and has gone to stay in the room. The godmother who's now feeling sleepy, had to stay in the living room as she can't go to the room bc her mom is there. Me on the other hand, can't sleep in the living room bc her godmother is in the sitting room.... So I sat at the veranda until 11pm. The cloth I had on was the one I wore since morning. I can't go to the room to change as the mom is there. Neither the living room bc the other woman is there.

My wife later came to me outside and was annoyed that I dont welcome her mother in my house.

Do you think I'm wrong to have told my wife to tell her to wait till Wednesday before she comes?

NB: my mother inlaw and I, live like mother and son until she came yesterday Sunday.

I know you are considering the discomfort that comes with the overcrowding but I would advice that you pretend that you enjoy and love their company. The slightest mistake you make this period may take years to correct. It would even be better that they are the ones that would feel the discomfort the most and complain. It is a phase that would definitely pass.
All parties are happy for the new born baby and it would be nice that they remain that way. As a married man, things would not always go your way. There are times you have to give in to your wife's choices. I know some people would want to think differently but I can assure that that has been the bedrock of my almost 14 years in marriage. There are times I accept my wife's opinion even though I do not agree with it. Sometimes it turns out that her choice is better than mine. If you try not to be chauvinistic all the time, it will definitely help.
Do not allow people to make you think because you give in to your wife's opinion that you have become a "woman wrapper". Some might do worse and advice you to never give in. This is my 2 kobo advice.

Religion / Re: Mbaka: I Will Not Worship At Catholic Church Again - Nigerian Man by kemjoe: 2:47pm On Jun 29, 2022
And how does that affect the church? Fr. Mbaka is not just a priest but that of the Catholic church that has its ways. He accountable to his bishop and must obey the church's authority even if he has a contrary opinion.
I am sure that if he is well grounded in the church he would not even consider what he said but go to the nearest Catholic church to worship or is he worshipping Fr. Mbaka?
post=114237303:
“I will not worship at Catholic Church again until Fr. Mbaka is called back and Adoration Ministry is reopened” – Nigerian man says.

A Nigerian Man, Akanchawa Orba has said he will not worship at Catholic church until Rev. Fr. Mbaka’s Adoration Ministry is reopened, Reports.

"I will not worship at Catholic Church again until Rev fr mbaka is called back and adoration ministry is reopened" he wrote on Facebook, As Sighted By on Tuesday, June 28.

The Catholic Priest had announced the shutdown of the Adoration Ministry following the order given to him by the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Calistus Onaga to embark on a one-month retreat.

Recall that the cleric described Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, as being too stingy and unfit to be the next President of Nigeria.

Following the public outburst, Onaga sanctioned Mbaka and directed the shutdown of his ministry until the due canonical process initiated by the Diocese is concluded.

Family / Re: I Am Worried Over Her High Sexual Drive.please Advise by kemjoe: 10:34am On Jun 23, 2022
I advise you introduce pre-intimacy before the intercourse. It takes a woman a longer time to come than a man. For you to be able to satisfy her, you have to locate her center of gravity or other parts of her body that turns her up and handle. Once this is introduced, it won't take long before she gets her orgasm. In fact, you can choose to make her come first before penetration. You can seek for a more professional advise.
Vahat:
We got married two years ago. My challenge is that my partner has a higher sexual drive and love sex so much.

Ever since we do make love, she has never for once be the one to say she is satisfied and that I should stop despite that most time it takes me between 10 to 25 minutes atimes to cum. The highest I can recall that i stayed long was 32minutes before I cum, yet in all these it looks to her as if I have not started the work and she feel disappointed anytime I cum because from her body language;she demands more and can withstand even up to one and half hours to 2hours before she can be satisfied and I can't go such.

I tried all I can but honestly I don't feel like a man for not even for once tell me or appreciate me on bed by telling me 'thank you, please cum na, your have stayed long,I am satisfied etc but will always rather willing to consume more and more despite that she needs sex most time and I responds to her demand. Even when I am tired and sweating profusely I keep on just to please her and I am getting fed up over this. I have never taken sex enhancement drug and will never take such.

I don't want to complain to her about. her insatiable sexual drive and how stressful it is riding on me to avoid her hiding her sexual feelings to me or taken it as insult or hurt her feelings and at the same time the fear of her looking for satisfaction from elsewhere. Please advise on how to handle this challenge.

This happened in my final year in the university.
I was a member of the JC International where we had a lot of leadership skills training. Back then I had financial difficulties that made it impossible for me to dress properly for our meetings which is either corporate or native.
Since I could not afford most of the dress codes, I do not attend meetings regularly and learn how to address a crowd (I was a very shy person back then).
We had two sessions of a our send off of which an acquaintance who was also being sent off was the MC/Anchor of the program.
At the beginning of the second session, as people were coming in, he invited me to come and give a vote of thanks on behalf of the graduating students. I got up picked up the mike and because I was not in any way prepared for that, I kept mumbling incoherent words like mmm..., and smiling sheepishly until the mike was collected from me.
After that, I couldn't get up from my seat and I wished the ground could open and swallow me. Up till this day, anytime I remember this, I still cringe.

She can't go to her mother's house cus her stepfather won't agree. During d time we were dating she was staying with me for this reason but as soon as she got into school her character changed so I ended it all.
Now think of her predicament I'm thinking of getting her d house I promised so as for her not to go back to her dad's house. I have the money to do it that's not a problem.

I'm still having second thoughts though. Abi Make I just use my money package myself

Most times the junior officers do not see these changes due to some secret fraudulent power play going on in the force. These men are so powerful that they can do anything and go scot free.

A Nigerian man, Timilehin P. Abayomi, who was 'kicked out' of Obafemi Awolowo Univrsity (OAU) after studying for 5 years has been celebrated on social media for his academic feat graduating with 1st class honors, years later.

According to his reports, he wept and attempted suicide after his poor outing at OAU that resulted in his studentship being withdrawn but he picked himself up.

Feeling the pains of wasted years in school, the man said he had attempted suicide and was also exiled from home. But rising from his academic misfortune, Timilehin stated that he decided to return to the university in 2015 and this time, he chose the Federal University of Technology, Akure.

In a celebratory LinkedIn post, Timilehin while keeping mum on the reason for the studentship withdrawal said the news reduced him and his mother to uncontrollable tears.

Bros, I do not think the love you both share should be on material things.
I would advice you ask her to stop stealing on your behalf because the consequence of her actions will be very dire for both of you. I believe that you can solidify your bond in other ways. If her mum knows and approves of your relationship, she might even be the one giving you all those things even though I do not support you leeching off them.
Pay for whatever you buy but be very prudent with your spending. You will gain more respect from your girlfriend if you are the one providing.
My humble advise.

Well responded to.
Femi Adesina was just saying half truths. He is either convinced that there was no civilian killings during the endsars protest or he prefers to tell lies like his information minister.
What goes up must come down. No matter what they do, they will never be in power forever. They and their families will reap what they have sown one way or the other.
God bless Nigeria.
othermen:
Using your platform to ask the presidency to awake to its responsibilities in providing security or development relevant to the people's need is not disdaining or hating those in power. Using your platform to remind the presidency of its promises during the election and how much it has failed in fulfilling the promises is not disdaining or hating those in power.

Not doing so, is hating the downtrodden and the people who cannot afford the lives of splendour that you live. It's hating those who cannot afford the private jets that you have or the armed guards that you possess, it's condemning them to death by bandits.

Jesus Christ spoke to power, and he was on the blacklist of several authorities(political and religious authorities) in his time, and he was eventually executed in a brutal manner because of his actions and words.

He denounced religious authorities (the pharisees), he overturned the temple that has become a money making venture, he sheltered prostitutes.

Speaking up to the presidency or urging the presidency to remember the downtrodden is an act of love, rebuking the presidency for not doing enough to protect Nigerians is not disdaining or hating the presidency, but an act of love for those who are most susceptible to murder and kidnap, which is the rest of us.

It's irresponsible to equate speaking out about corruption, weakening economy, insecurity and a load of cardinal others, it's irresponsible and an evidence of depravity or bereavement of compassion- to equate such to hatred.

Christ also had hatred within him; Christ had hatred for injustice, Christ had hatred for sin... but he only had love for the sinners and the downtrodden. But our bishops do not seek to follow the footsteps of Christ. They want to be in the good books of the authorities, they are scared that if they speak out, they may be investigated and their financial improprieties exposed, they are afraid if they defend the downtrodden, the positions of power they hold may be withdrawn; it would seem the positions of power is not from Christ, that they would abandon Christ teachings in order to be legitimised by a corrupt and inefficient, 'murderous' administration.

When Jesus told us to give to Ceaser what is Ceaser's due, he meant that we should fulfil our civic duties or responsibilities as good citizens. And what greater civic duty can we have than speaking out when we see many murdered by the cops in extra-judicial killings, when we see many suffering and hungry, when our roads are highways to hell... what greater civic duty can we have than speaking out, than by admonishing this administration to awake to its duties?

Apostle Paul in Romans 13: 7 wrote, 'we must pay the administration what is owed'... and what is owed this administration is genuine truth, a conveyance of tiredness of the state of a nation in disarray....but of coz if the nation is not in disarray, and there is no poverty or hunger or unemployment or diseases, how many would be in this gigantic churches that don't care about them, but only their pockets?

It is upon the shoulders and back of those most displaced by the administration inefficiency that the foundations of several churches have turned. The poor is told to give all they have as offerings in order for Gods blessing, the bishops takes this, and live affluently ever after... while the poor remains unfortunate..., the bishop breaks bread with those that have caused the misfortune... so it will seem the Bishop also have an interest in the disarray state of the nation, because it is the source of their affluence. Most of the prayers in our churches would not be in a nation that has the right leadership and where things work.

May the spirit of Christ be in the Church.

We didn't have any problems and I was serious about getting married to her.
When I was leaving she promised not to have another boyfriend and to wait for me(she is 24). I promised not to disappoint her.
It was going well for sometime until after one year,we had a quarel and separated.

About 3 months ago,we got back together, and she said she was still intact and waiting for me.
We started communicating regularly, but I noticed that each time were talking, she would be receiving calls frequently, after sometime,I confronted her with it,she lied that he was her customer. But I called the guy and found out he is a guy that was chiking her before.
She later admitted that she dated the guy when we had quarels. She also admitted to going to night clubs that period.

I still love her,but I'm pained because she cheated, lied about it and was reluctant about coming out of that relationship.
I'm also thinking of continuing the relationship because I have been outside for 2year now,it happened when we quarelled and she has agreed to stop it.
Nairalanders,do you think I should quit the relationship or go ahead with marriage plans.

I am really wondering where all these opinions about first born sons are coming from?
I am a first born but I left my house while I was still in the university. I only visited during this period.
As the first born son, I was unable to rise to where I should be not because I did not try but because the demand from family from me was enormous.
If there is any contribution to make in the family, mine is always the highest while my younger siblings always give excuses why they cannot meet up with their contribution.
I was once out of job but I virtually did not get anything from my siblings. When the table turned, I was made to assist regardless of my own immediate family (wife and kids). One thing that is saving me is that I live in my own house which if I had listened to my mum, I wouldn't have built. She wanted me to divert the money for the house construction to assisting my siblings with their finances.
My father is late but I have never exercised my authority on my family. I allow them to make decisions that they deem reasonable without me forcing mine on them even if I hold a contrary opinion.
So, please change this your mindset about first born. That the writers brother is not behaving well does not make all first born the same.
I rest my case.

I wish you people (SE governors and elites) were bold enough to have made such statements earlier the level of destruction of life and properties would have been avoided.
Your people no longer trust you for survival. You allowed them to take up arms and I strongly believe their camp has been infiltrated by enemies who would stop at nothing to see that they bring the Igbo race down.

You need to understand the workings of the Catholic Church first. They have so many other parishes the followers can worship in. Fr. Mbaka's ministry cannot stop worshippers from attending mass elsewhere.
The Catholic Church is a unique Church. Yes, members are humans susceptible to human frailty but the hierarchy of the church does a great work to sustain its ideals.
I am certain if you ask well grounded Catholics they will explain. I say this because there are some worshippers who may not know how the Church operates but still make unsubstantiated comments as if they have all the knowledge of the Church.

Guy, you are not been fair to her. She spilled everything because of the love she has for you. It is very rare for you to see a woman who will tell all even at gun point.
There are so many other girls that have done worse and are going to do more. What makes you think that if you leave this one for those that did not tell you that all will be well with you.
If this girl has passed all the other tests of what you expect from a wife-to-be, I would advice you give her a chance and not hold her story against her especially when she is willing not to go back to that her uncle or such immoral life.

I did not see Oguta in your list.
naijadrivablog:
Enough Is Enough: Not All Parts Of Imo State Is Expensive To Marry From

I have read several misconceptions on social media over the years that all parts of IMO State is expensive to Marry from. Even recently, a lady who is supposedly from IMO State made a viral video of how men from IMO don't marry "them" (ladies from IMO State).

I write this article to clear the air about this generalisation about marriage in IMO State. I am a married man from Imo State and well travelled individual and take it from me when I tell you that NOT ALL parts of IMO State is expensive to marry from. Stop the ignorance and stop peddling lies.

Also, I noticed that most people mistake Bride Price to be the only money paid in traditional marriages, as you can hear one say, "IMO bride price na 1 Million Naira", etc.

Bride price in an Igbo Traditional marriage is the agreed sum (by law, it is N50 but families can state the amount they want) paid by the groom or his family member to the family of the bride. This has both physical and spiritual implications as the authority over the bride is passed to the groom and his family via that sum and other rites performed during traditional marriages. Even if you, in a traditional marriage, kill 100 cows, give your inlaws both gold and diamonds but haven't paid the bride price of a woman, YOU ARE NOT married. Most times, a family may charge, for example, N10,000 but will return a sum from it to the groom, while saying that they are not selling their daughter and other pieces of advice.

Apart from bride price, other items like goat, yams, snuff, kola, garden egg and so on are written on a MARRIAGE LIST usually given to the prospective groom, upon acceptance of marriage proposal and Introduction of both families of the groom and bride.

It is true that some parts are expensive to marry from but this article will focus on the largely unmentioned areas that you can marry from without spending an arm and leg.

I must state here that whatever items any part of the Imo State or any other place in Nigeria require as traditional marriage rites to give out their daughters' hand in marriage is their prerogative.

Below are some of the areas in IMO State where you won't spend an arm and leg to get married (traditionally):

1. Orlu (Ihioma, Umuna etc)

2. Oru West and Oru East (Amagu, Mgbidi, Akata, Ubulu (formerly called, Ubulu Ihejiofor), Nempi etc)

3. Orlu LGA (Awo Idemili, Amannachi, Amaebu, Umuhu Okabia (Cubana Chief priest's village), etc
4. Isu/Njaba axis (Ekwe, Ofekata Orodo etc)

5. Onuimo LGA

6. Nwangele LGA (Linda Ikeji's place)

7. Ideato South and Ideator North (Akokwa, Osina, Obodoukwu etc)

8. Even some places in the feared Owerri is cheap, eg. Agwa

I know that some villages/towns in these Local Government areas may be "expensive" to marry from but you can add other areas that you know are cheap to marry from.

This is a new year, find love, go for what you want. IMO ladies hardly abandon their husbands when things are tough (there are exceptions though), most are hardworking, Most are God fearing, they are the most beautiful, they HARDLY marry and remarry or engage in extramarital affairs, they are sociable, they are ambitious and so on.

NOTE: In every 12 Apostles, there must be a Judas so, pray and understudy your prospective wife.

Expensive traditional marriage can be when you spend 600,000 Naira to 1 Million Naira or more TO FULFILL ALL the REQUIREMENTS IN THE MARRIAGE LIST (decoration, band, DJ, Aso Ebi and other things in a traditional marriage event not inclusive)

While an affordable marriage is when you spend 50,000 Naira to 300,000 or less to FULFILL ALL THE REQUIREMENTS in the MARRIAGE LIST (DJ, Aso Ebi, food, etc not inclusive)

If there are areas that I didn't cover, please add.

You are wrong in saying that you have lost faith in Jesus. Yours is not the worst. People have had worse situations but still stuck to God until their lives were transformed. You need to be steadfast in your prayers while being active with whatever you are doing. I beg you in the name of God to reestablish a relationship with God and I am certain you will be better for it. Like somebody said earlier, tackle the root cause and every other thing will fall in place.

Best of luck.

Romance / Re: Can I Ask My Boss Out For Valentine? by kemjoe: 8:30am On Feb 14, 2020
Please go ahead and give it a try. You might be surprised that she has been waiting for you to make the move. Even if she doesn't, at least you have cleared your doubts. Happy Valentine.
iphi:
My boss posted on her WhatsApp story "Who will be my Val" and other series of messages concerning taking her out for Val.

I'm older than her and she respects me, deep down I really like her, I don't know if I should ask her playfully, we chat a lot. I tease her a little bit when she posts a picture that is not fine and we laugh over it.

I want to tell her if she is unsuccessful in her search for a date I can be her back up plan. I don't know if it's a good idea to tell her that. I need honest and matured opinions please.

Please do the same for Rivers State.
Can you also inform us of what the police should check on the road. I keep get conflicting request from the police on what to provide on the road.
Business / Re: Pos: Fuel Stations To Charge N50 On Product Sales From Dec 1 by kemjoe: 11:01am On Nov 26, 2019
Most of the filling stations here in Port harcourt have already started deducting the 50 naira.
Won't there be any penalty for those who have started collecting this money illegally?
I have tried complaining even up to the extent of refusing to buy if they add that amount but it did not yield any dividend.
Nigerians are their worst enemies who always capitalize on any opportunity to swindle their fellow citizens and the government is not helping matters.
Health / Re: Ene, Emaciated Lady In Ajah Is Rehabilitated (New Photos) by kemjoe: 11:25am On Nov 19, 2019
I sincerely thank God for this lady's life.
Kudos to the woman who had the courage to take her to the hospital for rehabilitation. May God bless her and answer her prayers for this gesture.
It is quite disheartening that most people instead of coming to the aid of sick people prefer to take pictures and post. What the lady needed was assistance and not the kind of comments coming out of the mouth of many people who do not know her or know her circumstance. Such people should hide their head in shame for condemning the lady unnecessarily.

Politics / Re: Women Storm Aba In Support Of Ikpeazu, Lampoon Anti-Governor Protesters (Photos by kemjoe: 4:21pm On Oct 09, 2019
These protesters are fools (sorry for my language but that's what they are portraying).
We have been seeing posts of deplorable roads filled with refuse and none of them were able to come up to refute any of those claims. Just because one their brothers came on air to condemn the governor's non-charlance, they are coming to defend him. Obviously they have been paid to do this.
How can the country grow if we can not hold our elected officials accountable for their actions or inactions?
These officials come into power through such people who when they are given gifts and money.
I pity Abia people and all other states that play these stupid games.
Romance / Re: My Parents Refused To Accept My Suitor by kemjoe: 9:35am On Sep 27, 2019
I would advise that you do not take the advice of most of the contributors to this post because they say what they say out of ignorance.
There are so many stories about Mbaise as they are so many stories of all tribes. They have the good, the bad, and the ugly. I can assure you that there is no tribe that does not have bad people and there is no tribe that does not have good people.
The question should be;
Do I love him?
Does he love me?
Does he have the qualities I am looking for in a husband?
Am I willing to spend the rest of my life with him?

These are the kind of questions you should be asking yourself. And if you are satisfied, then find a way of convincing your parents to accept him.
Do not just break up with him because your parents say so. It is you that is getting married and not them. If you don't resolve this issue critically, you might end up regretting it for the rest of your life.
Remember that marriage is a lifelong journey unless you don't mind having divorce in your own. I am sure that you would not want that.
Goodluck.

Oguta is not on the list. Oguta or Ugwunta isin Imo state. We have different tribes in the south east region. I do not think is right to group all of them as Igbo.
