arcis: @ op, firstly, I will want you to put your mind at rest and be prayerful. Secondly, visit any teaching hospital nearer to you. Though, you have to be patient but you will definately meet a specialist in ear related disease. If you are in Lagos, you can visit Luth, lagos state uni. Teaching hospital and others. I wouldn't advise you taking any drugs people will suggest pls don't do self medication. It is well. Cheers!!!
Thanks so much broda..

hazureal: Yes, its at Agege. Its ORILE AGEGE GENERAL HOSPITAL (I just got the correct name).
From iyana ipaja, cross to the other side of the express road, take a bus going to "Ile-epo"/Super (the ile-EPO means "filling station"wink.
Stop at Ile-Epo market. Just beside the filling station, you will see a road where lots of keke napep and bikes are parked, walk down a little and you will see the hospital by your left (There's a shopping complex opposite it).
Try and get there very early and exercise lots of patience. Once you get there, ask the security men to direct you to where you will register. Take a number or write your name down on the list (this is to be sure that you are attended to, on a first come first serve basis, as there is usually a crowd waiting). When your serial number is called, you will obtain a card and will be directed to where you will see the general doctor. From here, you will be referred to the ENT, who will take it up from hence.

Thank you so much bros.. Am getting this done this week... Thank u so muchhhhhhhhhhh... I dont know how to thank you.. I sure know that God will reward you... Thanks once again..

hazureal: Sorry about your predicament.

Try the ENT clinic of Ifako Agege General Hospital (I'm assuming you are in lagos). Get there very early and register. It takes patience (which will finally pay off), but I'm sure you can get a lasting solution to this problem there.

Their doctors and nurses are highly competent, hospital fees are very affordable (I don't think there's anything like consultation fees. You only pay for the card, tests, drugs if you wish to buy them there and there won't be any issues of being duped - just make sure you pay at the accounts section).

In the meantime, it will be advisable for you to avoid swimming(if you do). Also, can you try and reconcile with your mum? Its quite understandable how you feel, but get rid of the "bad blood" and be in the right frame of mind in preparation for your solution. You may even need some form of support from her through the course of your treatment.

Good luck.

Thanks so much broda.. I really appreciate..incase if u dont know.. U've saved a soul.. I pray may God come to aid anytime in ur life u need his intervention.. Thanks so much.. Broda.. I didnt get the address of the general well.. Yes.. I stay in lagos.. The ifako agege general hospital seems to be situated around agege if i get you right.. Kindly, throw more light on this.. Thanks once again..

Watermelon: OP, sorry at your problem, you seem to have chronic otitis media which can be difficult to treat at times and can cause deafness. Please do not hate your mum - I believe she must have done her best concerning your predicament. Your problem can be solved and you need to adhere strictly to instructions while the treatment lasts. Like somebody has suggested, you need to see an ENT surgeon in a government hospital, that is where you can get the best specialist treatment although you have to be patient especially when you do not arrive at the hospital early enough of.
I hope you do shield your ears from water while taking your bath and when you are out in the rain, because no antibiotics can cure otitis media when you keep providing the micro organisms with a favourable condition (moisture) for growth and multiplication and possible antibiotics resistance.

Thanks so much broda.. U're a brother indeed!! May God also intervene in every aspect of ur life that needs his intervention.. Thanks so much..

sissy_ijebu: My cousin has a similar problem but it affects only her left ear. Since grown up she's tried many alternatives and still no luck, not only in Nigeria but overseas also. She's taken different antibiotics and the problem stops for a few hours and then its back. She even jokes that the day it stops that means she's dead. She's successful and now comfortable with it. Her advice to you is for you to first keep your money and stop taking alcohol. Clean the ears out with water, don't use soap and use cotton buds that can penetrate deep down inside. If possible avoid heat of any kind. Get a small towel and buy whenever you going out spray it with a good perfume and wet it a bit . If you feel the pus coming clean it out 'stylishly' around people u aint comfortable with but otherwise feel free to clean it out. Don't let it bring you down or decide your future. I feel your pain but its not you fault that its happening. It does not disturb you from achieving whatever trust me on that. Just try your best until money is not a problem then you can research and probably find a lasting solution. Good luck my friendsmiley

Thanks so much broda for ur concern.. If only u know how much i appreciate this.. U'ld really understand what have been passing through with this mess and seeing someone like you giving hope to the hopeless is something thats unquantifiable.. I really appreciate.. I'll try what u just said.. I pray may God almighty grant ur cousin divine healing just like how i keep looking unto him for such divine healing.. Its a mess and no matter how comfortable or wealthy someone is.. A mess can never be worthy of experiencing.. Dats why i asked God to grant ur cousin divine healing.. Thanks so much

Am sorry if am posting this on the wrong section.. I've to post it here since its to do with health.. Kindly pardon my ignorance..
Well meaning nairalanders.. My problem has to do with ear pus.. Have been having this ear pus problem right from when i was a kid as told by my mum.. She told me she tried all her best to find a lasting solution to it but all to no avail.. Infact, we're nt in a good terms because of this because i never stop having that belief that she took care of me well.. If she had did.. She'ld have gotten a lasting solution to it.. I feel real sad everyday about this health issue as i've to go out with two handkerchiefs on me and be at alert everytime because the ear pus slowly drips from my ear at any point in time.. So, have got to dip the handkerchief in my ear to get it cleaned up... While the second handkerchief is for other purpose like cleaning my face and the rest.. Its nt as if have been silent on this issue when i became grown-up and noticed this.. Since when i noticed this messy condition of mine.. Have been visiting one ear clinic to another but all they keep doing is swindling my money in the name of consultation fees, visiting fees and other nonsense fees.. I was given some medications in one of the clinic but it never worked.. I had to stop visiting when i got fed up of the #5k i do pay whenever i've to go lay complain.. I even went to a clinic yesterday.. Upon reaching there, the next thing the receptionist started telling me was the same nonsense payment of consultaion fees worth #10k before i could be attended to and #5k anytime i need to visit for lay complain or whatever.. I was so sad and left there been disappointed. So many questions were running in my mind.. Why cant this people get me checked before asking me to pay? Is this people nt the same swindlers have been meeting since all these while? I was just fed up.. Infact, am the saddest person today when i remember all my stress in getting this messy health condition of mine treated.. I had to get myself drunk not to think much of it so nt to get my health affected again..
My life has been so messy because of this ear pus..
Well meaning nairalanders.. I beg u all in the name of God to help me with presription of a good drug i can use for this my ear pus issue.. Pls, have finally seen nairaland as my last resort.. Thats why i have to come on here to voice out since i dont see any clinic helping me out instead been a swindler.. Am 24yrs of age.. The ear pus takes place in the both ears.. Have searched on google and found out that its CSOM.. 'Chronic suppurlative otitis media' atimes, hearing at once at night when am far from the person used to be problem. Nairalanders.. If u've had such experience before.. Kindly help me out.....

did you register the line? if yes, then walk up to any MTN agents even those in mini kiosk & ask for a welcome back, all they need is your name, some details & identity. or better still nearest MTN office.

Thanks bros...

Family / Re: Most Painful Death Of A Loved One You Had by kennyman20(m): 1:08am On Oct 06, 2013
That would be the death of my dad.. Hw i wish he was able to see how excellently i performed when my ssce results came out cos he so much tried for me.. Though, its wasnt easy then for me receiving his insults and making sure i read my books.. I had no choice than to heed to his words cos he's a man of no-nonsense. Its now i see the essence of his chanting then... Thanks so much dad!! Just wondering if i'll be able to control my tears somedays when i'll have an important event that requires ur presence and sees another man filling that vacuum u left.. Dat makes me remember how i cried during my sister's wedding.. Seeing my uncle beside my mom representing my dad.. I cried bitterly that people even tried their best in consoling me bt they couldnt.. Cos its as if i was viewing all the memories of my dad in HD and its haunting me bad and how he struggled to take good care of us then.. Seeing another man reaping the fruit of his labour wasnt easy.
The second was d death of my very best frnd.. Wahab shina.. May ur soul rest in perfect peace and i pray may God almighty grant ur family the fortitude to bear the irrecoverable loss cos u're just three in ur mother's hand and u're the first born.. So bad, its even when life has started getting better for u dat death took u away.. Anyway, i'll say its God who giveth and taketh.. So, everything is best known to him.. Shina.. Ur death taught me that no matter the conflict between two people.. We shouldnt waste time in settling it.. Kept trying ur number..bt never knew dat the silent of ur phone means u've been silent by death..Sorry for how i was in school then and couldnt call u, whereas u you're at home struggling with the strange sickness that took u away. I never meant to and its nt because of our misunderstanding.. I was just so preoccupied with studies then.. How i wish i wasnt selfish with time then.. I would have called you.. Maybe my call could have saved u or could even be my last chance of hearing frm u again.. I just hope u could see the bitterness in my heart almost everyday when i couldnt see no one like u to crack jokes with anymore, and forgive me for how i couldnt be there for u during ur trying time..
Shina, i wanna go see ur mum.. Bt how i wish i could do so.. Shina, how i wish u could get to answer my questions.. Wont my going make her sorrowful again when am gone, seeing his son's frnd? Wont dat bring forth those forgotten memories to her? Wont my going opened her healed wound? What am i gonna say i came to do? Am i gonna say i came to comfort her or what? Can someone comfort her if nt only God? I hope u'll reason with me wherever u're and not see me as a selfish or bad person shina.. I missed u so much.. How i wish heaven grant resurrection wishes.. I wont hesitate asking heaven to release u to me cos av got no one to fill that vacuum u left.. I'll contiue to love and remember u cos u're a good frnd.. Rest in peace brother.. So sad..
