Please I will like to know if any graduate from covenant has used the email verification of transcript. Wanna know if it's safe to use email to send certificate and transcript or it's better to go the hard copy route.

Please, I'll like to know if ICES will proceed with evaluation if transcript is not uploaded. Every other document is available for upload and school will also send all necessary documents.

I'm a novice, so take this with a pinch of salt

With your current situation, it's a really dicey one. And like you said, a bird in hand is worth more....... You can say CRS score will drop and not drop to the level which you desire.

If I were you I will go on with spouse unaccompanying. At this point, it's sacrifice you have to make, both of you. Please don't decline your ITA again. You can never be too sure when it comes to rewriting of IELTS after it expires.

At the end of the day. Do what is best for you and your family and try not to make a decision that will hunt you for a long time.
laghopeful20181:
Good morning people,

Your advice will be appreciated please....

I am the PA. We had received ITA in september 2018. At the point of submission in November, i realised that my husband's IELTS had expired. After exploring all options, we had to decline the ITA. While back in the pool, I adjusted my profile - my husband as un accompanying spouse. I received another ITA in November -449 cut off (My score without my husband as accompanying was 451). A few days after receipt of ITA, I had a birthday.. In the meantime my husband registered for the 1st of December IELTS. After plenty research, I came to the conclusion that it was possible to make a spouse accompanying after receipt of ITA...providing that the score after adding the spouse meets up to or exceeds the cut off for the draw from which you received an ITA from (In this case, cut off of 449). Unfortunately, my husbands IELTS results came out as 8.5,6.5,6.5,6.5. If I add my husband to the current ITA I have now, the score falls below the cut off of 449. My choices as I see it now are as follows:

1. ahead with the ITA I currently have in which my husband is an un accompanying spouse (please not my IELTS expires on the 7th of January)
2. Decline the ITA I currently have. In this case, I go back into the pool. With my current age and husbands results our score will be 443....then hope and hope that the next ITA will have a cut off of 440 or 442.
3. If the next ITA is above 445, it means I will need to write IELTS again in January. IF I max out on IELTS points, our total points will be about 448.

I feel like a bird in hand is worth more than 10 in the bush oooo. I feel that I should go on with the current ITA I have. If all works out we can apply for spousal sponsorship in future....I have heard that spousal sponsorship is hard... how true is this? What would you all advice?

Thanks a lot

He actually quoted you out of context. It's a good message to pass across to those intending to write their exam soonest. It is an obvious fact that the exam is simple, yet it still humbles a lot of people.

For the first timers, when they have it in their subconscious that it's simple, with proper preparation, they can ace it once.

With the IELTS panic mode on this thread, some new comers will go into the exam hall defeated.
May God help us all in the pursuit of our dreams.
etrange:

You obviously got me wrong. I do not intend to undermine people's efforts nor appear ungrateful. I found IELTS simpler than I anticipated and I do not think there is anything wrong in expressing that view. As a matter of fact, I believe it will help those yet to write to relax and concentrate more. Given that a lot of people have done it multiple times, those yet to write would naturally be nervous at this time and I think anything to calm them down would be welcomed. While a lot of factors could affect one's result like you rightly said, walking into the exam without panicking will still go a long way in ensuring a more natural output from the candidate; a factor to which I attributed my success up there. So saying that IELTS is simpler than it appears is not far from the truth. I am sorry if that expression does not sit well with you.

Thanks for the congratulations.

Well, it boils down to the personal conviction of the applicant if he feels he can convince the V.O on a second trial. For example, if he lost confidence during the first interview and wasn't composed enough to explain why he's going to the US.

In the past, people have gone to the embassy after three or five days and got their visa. I really dont know if this still works now though. So goodluck to him in whatever decision he makes .
Ubah1:

Yes , it's possible for F1 visa but you won't find it funny with the V.O if you reappear within a very short period. They might ask you what have changed in your application or why you think you are qualified now.

That's why you need an additional degree to get higher than 441 CRS score.
A masters with IELTS result of 8777 will push you to 470's.
But page 1 needs your attention. Peruse it well.

Good day all,
I apologise if this question has been asked previously but i haven't personally come across it.

Going through this thread, i observe majority that have gotten CoPR have MSc,MBAs etc; how feasible is it for one in her late twenties with ONLY BSc, 3+ work experience, married get a CRS above 440 because randomly trying with the CRS tool gives me about 430-ish all the time. I would like to know before i start to invest timeand money.

Thank you so much.

Hello house.

Please I have a question for those that used ICES. I have registered my profile using my personal address. But on the second thought, I want to use a Canadian address to save cost and for faster process.

The problem now is, it's seems my profile information is locked. Is there a way I can edit my address.
I would appreciate a quick response. Thank you

OR

Can I just go ahead with payment and the evaluation, hoping I'll be able to change ECA delivery address later on during the application.

What you obviously don't know is that you're charged 30k or more to renew your passport when the official rate is 17k plus. Have you bothered to ask where the excess money goes? Your guess is as good as mine.

If you know, you know.

Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by kfrosh: 4:25pm On Oct 16, 2018
One of the possibilities I see here is that, probably the V.O that checked your file again while verifying your statement and all might have noticed an inconsistency in your application and decided to refuse you or he/she might feel your dad's income is not sufficient enough for your studies. What's your Dad's balance and how much was quoted on your i20.

All these are based on assumptions, no one can say for sure what went wrong.

yemiteantho:
Thanks for the previous response!
The transcript is as follows;
VO: Good Morning
Me: Good morning and how are you doing?
VO: Good thank you (Smiling). Can you pass your i20 and passport please?
Me: Handed it Over.
VO: Why did you want to study this particular course in US?
Me: The master's degree will equip me with the necessary expertise required to be a professional health educator in Nigeria. bla bla bla....
VO: Nodded in acceptance. who is sponsoring your study?
Me: My dad.
VO: What does he do?
Me: He is a medical doctor at ........Hospital and we have a family business as well.
VO: Do you have the financial statement?
me: Yes.. and I passed it to her when she requested.
VO: Flipped through all the pages for like 3 mins. What do you say you dad do?
Me: He is a medical doctor at so so so so....
VO: Okay! Flipped through the pages again for another 2 mins
VO: Who is so so so so(Mentioned my Dad's name)?
Me: My dad.
VO: Okay.
VO: Are you aware that the new policy is that united state embassy will be verifying all financial statements for F1 visa? and if there is an issue with the document, such applicant can be banned for up to 10 years. Do you still want to proceed?
Me: Yes.
VO: Waited again foe like 1 min.... Your visa have been approved
Me: Thank you
VO: Passed me the two white documents i described earlier
Me: Like when will me passport be ready for collection?
VO: Between 2-3 business days.
me: Thank you.
VO: I wish you a nice study in the US.
me: Thank you.
She did not give me back my financial statement though!
Later in the day, we were told that the embassy sent a mail to the bank to verify the statement and that it has been verified.
So, that is the transcript.
Only for me to check my status online now and to see refused and that I should refer to the paper i collected at the interview yesterday which was a congratulatory paper of being issued an F1 visa.

As in What are you saying sef that is totori(ing)You in your body. Remember, it's not a must you comment on the forum.

There's absolutely nothing wrong in his advise.
Most people see those V.Os as demi god whereby they begin to fidget before appearing before them.
But when you have it in your subconscious that they are mere civil servants doing their job or YES,
see them as nobody. Seeing them as nobody perhaps will raise your level of confidence while you're having a chat with them. It's a good strategy that works most times.
Emmalondon:

How can you advise someone to see a fellow human as inferior or as a nobody all in the name of building confidence? Please this is not a good advise at all. There are many other practical but positive ways to build confidence.

There's no need to lie. The truth shall set you free.
If your sister is your true sponsor, go for your interview with all confidence and answer all questions asked of you. As long as you can explain why your sister chose to sponsor you even in your married state, you should be fine.
alibi499:
Hello gurus! Please I used my sister as my sponsor to get my i-20, can this count against me during my visa interview considering the fact that am married?.
If yes can I change my sponsor before the interview, and I hope this won't have a negative effect.

Your advice please, I don't won't to fall victim...

Na so! Mr craze man(pun intended)

No rule states your brother can not sponsor you.
If so-called numerous uncles with different surnames have sponsored lots of Nigerians to school in the US, there's absolutely no reason why a brother can not do likewise.
Yes, parents still remain the best sponsor and still doesn't guarantee nothing, it boils down to your presentation.
EZEIGBO1OFIMO:
That's the reddest of flags.. In fact this flag is redder than the blood of the son of man grin grin grin... The story just didn't make any sense to the VO.. Why would your husband's brother sponsor him to school at his age?.. Has your husband's brother run out things to do with money?.. What is the foreseeable gain in spending $$thousands on a grown sibling?....Your husband should look for another funding means, like his parents or personal funds or something that doesn't generate questions that even the smell of ogiri will not alleviate grin
