Thanks. Working on my GRE already. Olalekank:
Anything is possible. There are schools that accept your CGPA. You can boost your profile with other documents like the SOP (where you can explain the reason for the supposedly low CGPA), LOR, research experience, high GRE and TOEFL scores.
These would do a great job in improving your chances of getting admitted amongst other applicants. |

C'mon man, why the negative vibe. Be happy for your fellow man and wish him success in his future endeavours. What actually makes you think he won't be able to get the permanent GC after 10 years. Try think positive at all times. Moreover he said GC, he didn't say permanent GC. Temporary or permanent, all na still GC at this point of discussion. Abayomin70:
guy cool down and stop lying why are you lying naaaaa if you get into this country 2016 you can never ever and i say again never ever get a permanent resident card which is 10 years green card and after that you will file for citizenship in 3 years what you have is probably 2 YEARS TEMPORARY GREEN CARD or also called CONDITIONAL GREEN CARD i have seen lots of people that was given 2 years green card that you have and was not given a 10 years green card which is the real one,i mean alot and alot of guys here have 2 years green card but when it expire they cant renew it to the real permanet resident card which is 10 years green card that will make you be eligible to file for citizenship after 3 years
and again if you really get here 2016 and you really have a green card ,what you have a 2 temporary green card that is going to expire and not the real and original green card that is for 10 years that will make you eligible for citizenship in 3 years
stop coming here telling lies and thinking old members dont read these post,i read this post everyday and just dont comment and if you want to start an argument with me,i will do the maths for you with link from USCIS.GOV website 15 Likes 2 Shares |

Is there no huge cost implication for applying to 10 schools. Apologies for my naievity. dailydolar: did I hear you say 3schools I won't advise that I did more than 10 and only two admission show so Bros do as many as possible but just do max of tep for uniassist school if you must do them coa I didn't do any uniassit. Thanks so much for your reply. I will start doing extensive research on it since I have a chance. Do I have to take the GRE? I have TOEFL already. Obinnalex:
Yes it’s possible to get admitted into MSc program with your 2.37 GPA. Your GPA according to German scale is 2.9 (keep in mind that 1.0 is the highest possible grade in Germany and 4.0 means failure. Unlike In Nigeria where 5.0 means 1st class and 1.00 means failure). So bro you have a chance. You just have to find the right school to apply to and make sure that the course you are applying to won’t be restricted. I will also advice that you apply for Bsc too as you are applying for Msc, just Incase things doesn’t work out. Wish you the best |

Please I need someone kind enough to give a good response to my question as I am new to this thread.
I graduated with a third class degree in Engineering (2.37) I lost my job about a year ago and don't have a regular job for now. Do I have a chance of getting admitted for a MSc program or can I pursue another BSc with my profile.
I would appreciate a urgent response. |

Yeah! We're saying the same thing. You made a mistake by not putting YES where you were asked if you have a family member in the US. It was the easiest thing you could have done. You put NO on the form, now went ahead to say NO when asked again. The mistake has been done but learn from it. mayd16:

Bro! The rule of the game is, don't get caught lying. Once this happen, your credibility diminishes to zero because it is assumed everything in your application is a lie. I suggest you take a break for now and re-evaluate your study plan. Try not to apply anytime soon cos you might get same outcome. mayd16: Good morning guys, Visa Delayed this morning 7am
Firstly i will say there should be no discrimination about type of schools, i got plenty condemnation for picking a community college or going for an associate degree, so far you can defend your choice of degree ko matter. My interview was smooth until my past hunted me due to agent assistance the last time.
And also dont give anybody any document at the USA embassy gate until you enter.
Transcript:
Me:Good morning ma Vo: Good morning, pass me your passport and i20 Me: here they are Vo:where are you going Me: Jamestown Community College Newyork Vo: Tell me about your program Me: I am going for an associate degree in Network and system administration, which is a 30credit unit with 9credit electives and 21core course Vo cuts in ok.....while nodding Me: Do you want me to tell what this program will do for me? Vo: sure go on, nodding Me: After the successful completion of this course i would be taking a promotion seat back at my place of work. Vo: oh you already have a study leave Me: yes Vo: Can i see a letter showing there support Me: here you have it ma(passed the letter) Vo: nodding head, why are they sponsoring you Me: i have been ablebto change the hospital operation by introducing hospital software bla bla
Now here is my Bleep up
Vo: do you have friends and family in the US Me: No ma’am Vo: but you were here the last time you going to visit your sister Me: i went through an agent who messed my application up Vo: so do you have a sister in the us Me: yes ma Vo: but you said you dont have Me: I thought you said friends Vo: i mean family, what does she do Me: shes a nurse Vo: (in pity face) sorry at this time bla bla bla blue paper
Issues: I had gone through an agent for a visiting visa,(the agent worked everything out) but this time i did it my self but in my ds-160form where they asked do i have any relatives i selected no

Bro! Don't give up yet, even though I am yet to decide my fate yet, I was once in your shoes and I overcame it the second time. You can do it, all you need is practise. Mine was even worse than yours. dan5loriel: Visa Delayed this morning....
I know I bleeb I was very tensed to be honest.... I got interviewed by the nice dude in window 7 even though he denied almost everybody before me I believe it all resulted to the fact that they weren't convincing and I think that also dropped my confidence level ..
VO: where are you going in the US Me: I am going to the university of new haven west haven Connecticut VO: what course : Me: masters in industrial engineering Why this course : in the field of industrial engineering job opportunities are limitless it is a good mix of both business and engineering and with the acquired practical and theoretical knowledge... VO cut VO: how many schools did you apply too and name them Me: 3 others university of Dayton Ohio, Rochester institute of technology Newyork Portland state university Oregone
So why university of new haven ?
I choose the university of new haven because of its flexible and dynamic industrial engineering program , Also prof Ali montazeer who I will be on his team has his research.....VO cuts me and then said I know you came prepared but don't talk to me as if you rehearsed your speech so I will know your real intention of wanting to To study in the US and I told him sir I am tensed to be honest and then he said yes I know but explain to me why u choose the skol in clear terms. That moment I went dumb I felt probably what i was saying wasn't convincing and I then tried rephrasing but then I started to stammer and that very moment I knew that was it ... I am so pained guys please I need help on my transcript please and please |

Wrong advise Don't be in a hurry to bring out any documents unless the V.O requests for it. It's makes the V.Os suspicious of your credibility. abike12:
when they ask any question please respond with any available document. so when they asked about the balance of your fees you should've responded with mouth and the sponsorship letter/bank statement of your sponsor. don't wait for them to ask you for the document.
family ties - things like documents of landed property, pictures of your family members, proof of the plantation, etc
mentioning friends as the reason for choosing a school suggests you have ties in the US and may not come back. F1 is still a non immigrant visa and you have to prove intent to return at the completion of your studies. 2 Likes |

I used to think we take this God factor too serious until I knew otherwise. Like someone posted here before, pray as if you never prepared and crazily prepare as if there's no God. You may say all the right things, application perfect and still get denied but when God favors you, the rest is history. Plus God is not a magician that will help you when you've not prepared well enough. Ubah1:
Am not against God factor tho as one can be favoured and not be asked much questions before getting visa but we shouldn't capitalise on that. That's the mistake many people do, they pray and pray without doing anything to help their application. Do your best and allow favour to crown it up 3 Likes |

Try to go through the compiled transcripts of successful approvals. In your reasons for choosing the school, assistanship should come first in your reasons then saying recommendations from friends is not always a good way to go. EducationUsa, online research or may be your mentor (School professor) is better than saying your friends that are studying in the US. Draft out a proposed transcript and cross check with friends to see if it's convincing enough and engage in constant mock interview consistently for a week or two before your interview. Let your story be consistent and remember every details in your application including your first interview. Then put God first before anything. precyrich68:
thanks for the contribution.
so at this point, what should I do differently before applying again? ?
I am not married, I am returning home to manage the family plantation . How else do I prove my ties to home country? ?
Note : During my interview, the consular officer just asked me two questions :
a. why did you choose the school? ? Through strong recommendations from friends studying in the US . Paul and Virginia Engler college of Business west Texas a & m university has a strong reputation for outstanding performance in business. administration since its inception in 1910. it's is among the top ranked business schools in the USA.
secondly, the school offered me graduate assistantship to pay tuition and fee at an instant rate rather than as an international student.
b. who is paying the balance of your fees? Mrs xxxx xxxx , my elder sister.
That was all. she handed me an already typed rejection letter. saying my application is being rejected this time, no proof of enough ties to home country.
I want to apply again, what do I do differently? ?
