Nice topic, we need adequate sensitisation on HIV.

Most people who die from HIV die out of ignorance, and psychological disarray.

We need to let people know that HIV is harmless when proper preventive measures are put in place.

You are right, the fear of the unknown has clouded most people's mind.

This short phrase written above is the bitter realization HIV infected persons have to accept.

These words have disrupted lives and ended the joy of many, but I am not here to bore you with the details or remind you of the shock and pain you felt when you came to this realization.

This post is for three categories of people;

Those living with the HIV virus.
Those living without the HIV virus.
And those who are unsure of their status.

The deadly virus – Human Immunodeficiency Virus, has been around for decades. It was first discovered in Nigeria in 1985, which is two years after it was discovered in San Francesco by a group of scientists led by Dr. Luc Montagnier from one Ken Horne as the first carrier of the incurable disease.

For an incurable disease which has claimed the lives of millions all over the world and with 150,000 deaths of AIDs-related illness just last year in Nigeria; it has seen Nigeria as the country with the second largest HIV epidemic.

After about 33 years and millions of recorded deaths caused by AIDs. Many are now aware of their status but most still cower at the thought of knowing their status for many reasons e.g multiple sexual partners, unfaithful partner, use of sharp and unsterilized objects, use of unscreened blood, amongst others.

HIV is a virus that attacks the human’s immune system, which is the natural defence against illnesses, but when left unchecked, the virus gradually attacks the T-helper cells, known as CD4 cells for about 10 to 15 years, so imagine the extent of damage it would have incured which leads to the appearance of the defining symptoms – which is AIDs.

Acquired immune deficiency syndrome is a compilation of symptoms and illnesses, which is also known as the late HIV stage.

Over the years, the awareness and news about the incurable disease has dwindled, which has in effect reduced the cautiousness of most Nigerians.

It is important to know your HIV status, this helps you lead a better life.

Proper use of the Anti-retroviral medications aimed at suppressing the load of the infectious cells and also a healthy lifestyle helps you live above the virus.

We will be sharing with you, personal stories of happy Africans living with the virus, spreading the news on how to live well, and how to stay HIV-free.

Read on how Mpho, a sexually active gay man came to this realization of being HIV positive.

“Hmm, where do I start? I am a sexually active guy, but I never thought I would get HIV. I always made sure I used condoms and tested regularly, I even remember a nurse asking why am I testing so often. I giggled and said it’s a routine, I do it automatically.

My friends introduced me to this nude bar around my area, and wow, good-looking guys everywhere! My friends warned me that I should use a condom if I have sex with stranger. But excitement took over and bam! I had unprotected sex. A while later I started getting a lot of fevers and colds, but it never struck me that I could be HIV-positive.

My body started changing, I became fat, but thought it was only my depression tablets, which I stopped taking in the end. Before long I was getting tired all the time, a five-minute walk would give me sweats all over.

Then, at work they had a ‘wellness day’. It dawned on me that I hadn’t tested for almost 3 years. I walked tall into the testing room. The nurse was nice and gave me counselling, everything was fine so far. Then, I tested positive, and the numbness crept in. The first thing I thought was: “Will my colleagues see the expression on my face?”

I sat by the corner for about 15 minutes, I was stressed, not because I was positive but because I was worried about how my aunt would take it. How am I going to cope! I decided to call her, I told her my result and she took it well. She was supportive. I was actually excited. The courage to tell my guardian gave me strength to say: “What the heck, life goes on!”

I immediately started my treatment, and boy I have to tell you, I never experienced any sort of setback and have never been sick – and now I am even undetectable.

Opening up to someone close to you doesn’t only bring you relief it invites them to assist you with the treatment, especially for us young guys with busy lives – one day you take your meds and the other day you forget. Having someone to nag and remind you, is just what you need. Do not keep your status to yourself, it will only end up causing you stress. Talk about it, it helps”.

Crime / Father Of 7 Teenagers Allegedly Killed Over N100 Bribe In Rivers State(photos) by Kikkyalibi: 12:28pm On Oct 25, 2018
A Facebook user has taken to the social media platform to call out law authorities over another alleged case of police brutality which has cost a man, father to seven children his dear life.

The man who shared the post is identified as Gideon Murray on Facebook.

He wrote;

A fine gentleman of the highest order was murdered by some oppressors who hide as men of the Nigerian Police Force.

I am still in shock that those who we paid to secure lives and property are directly doing the contrary.

Chief Unwobudu Edima Sydah a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Part, ward Four in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, Two term Chaiman of the National Union Of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Ahoada Region was gruesomely murdered by men of the police force simply because he didn’t give them #100 bribe they usually take.

This action of the police portends great danger and if they are left unpunished it may lead to crisis which will jeopardize the relative peace we currently enjoy in the Orashi Region.

The perpetrators of this evil crime should be brought to book so that it will serve as a deterrent to those who may have same intentions in order to ensure that our safety is guaranteed.

This incidence occurred in Obite police station opposite Obite Gas Plant in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area Of Rivers State.

I hereby call on the rank and file of the police force to ensure that justice is served and culprits are punished as stipulated by the extant laws of the land.

An injury to one is an injury to all so I urge my fellow country men and women to rally round with us in our noble campaign of demanding for Justice for the Late Chief Unwobudu Edima Sydah.

We shall not be cowed nor intimidated in the call for Justice for the departed.

It will interest you to know that this man left behind 7 children which are all teens

Let’s post and repost until the whole world is aware of this dastardly act of the police force.

I call on the our amiable and dynamic Governor HE Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike CON GSSRS and HE President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR to ensure that this is not one of numerous incidence swept under the carpet by the hierarchy of the police.

Romance / Do Not Read This If You Are Not Single!! by Kikkyalibi: 11:36am On Oct 21, 2018
Have you ever tried to live alone?

With no one to see or talk to day-in and day-out?

Have you ever tried to live as an “island” or a “lone-wolf”?

No normal human is a lone being, we thrive better knowing we are not alone, both physically, and in other ramifications.

Being a “loner” is one of the fastest roads to “depression”.

As the popular song says, we all need somebody to lean on!

But what happens when the person you lean on doesn’t turn out to be who you thought they were?

[img][/img]

What happens when the one person you put all your trust in, fails you and back stabs you in the most unimaginable way possible?

Failed relationships are what we see everywhere these days; from a failed friendship, to a failed marriage, or a failed relationship between a boss and his employee.

It’s as common as the air we breathe in. Which makes bouncing back from a toxic and failed relationship very important.

Below are a few steps that will help you move on whilst being a better person:

#1. Accept The Reality.

Humans have a unique ability of creating imaginations. After a breakup, some people cope by living in denial, not accepting that their relationship is over.

The first step to overcome anything in life is by recognizing it’s existence.

Accept the reality that the end of Your Relationship is not the end of Your life, happiness or peace.

When you spend years or decades loving and caring for someone in particular, it’s normal to see your life as incomplete with the other person but once that relationship becomes toxic or a failed one, see it as a rotten egg that would ruin the entire bunch, do away with any thoughts related to it, accept that it is over and you are better off ending that chapter.

#2. Forgive Yourself

From inception, we humans have this innate flaw of “passing the bucket” just as Adam, Eve and the serpent did in the biblical creation story.

This phrase means passing the blame onto others which is something people do in a failed relationship.

Accept that you made the decision to be in the relationship and forgive yourself for it.

Whether the breakup was your fault or not, the fact that you were in that relationship in the first place was your decision and you need to forgive yourself for it and move on.

Take time to consciously do this as you can not forgive the other person whilst battling with Yourself.

#3. Develop Good Habits.

One thing is common with those with broken hearts, we tend to search for something or someone that can fill up the void the other person left behind.

Of course, the root of this common problem is when you don’t follow the steps above.
This leads to a downward spiral as bad habits naturally develop.
People cope with pain of being heartbroken differently.
Some become stalkers on social networks, some turn into drunkards, or drug addicts, some withdraw from everything social, some go on a dating spree, some get outrightly depressed, amongst many other bad habits that stems from being heart broken.

All the aforementioned habits are bad, and they will happen if you don’t consciously build good habits to practice a safe and healthy distraction.

You can learn that guitar you have always admired from afar, pick up that extra class, sign up for more tutorials, learn a daunting but interesting sporting activity, improve on your craftsmanship, learn a new skill, amongst other safe and healthy ideas of distractions which will build you rather than create more problems for you. So, love yourself!

#4. Keep A Safe Distance

The saying ‘Out of sight is Out of mind’ should be applied after a breakup.

Do not “ghost” them or choose to remain their friend, Bad Idea!
If you are in talking terms with your ex, tell them you need space.

Take this time-out to do the steps above.
Be ready to go through a phase of emotional and mental torture if you keep them around, soon you would see their next partners on social networks and this will do more harm to you than good.

#5. Give It Time.

Time they say, is the best healer for a broken heart.

Obviously, it can never be immediately, and in some cases it takes years to completely let go but that all depends on what you have done in that time.

If you put in an effort into moving on and building a better person for a better relationship than your last, you will bounce back really fast but if you wallow in that puddle of pain, holding onto the hurt and regrets, all the time in the world will not help you.

So, follow these steps above so your next relationship doesn’t suffer from your broken heart.

Alibi blog wishes you the best in your relationships.

Business / Ghanaian Man Storms Bank With Mattress, Pillow & Bedsheet (Video) by Kikkyalibi: 9:11am On Oct 18, 2018
A young man did an unbelievable thing as he left the bankers, and customers of UniCredit Apenkwa branch in the Accra Metropolitan assembly with mouths gaping when he showed up at the bank with his mattress, pillow, bedsheet, and other personal belongings to comfortably sleep inside the banking hall.

The young man claims he has a savings bank account with the UniCredit Apenkwa branch and he has been to the bank multiple times to withdraw his money but he kept getting the response:

“the service is down”.

This happened just yesterday, 17th October 2018, when the young man whose identity is yet to be established stormed UniCredit Apenkwa branch with his beddings, mattress, and other stuff to sleep there till he gets his money.

The bankers whilst working looked on also dazed as to why a grown man would resort to “pitching his tent” at their banking hall.

For fear of making the news for more wrong reasons, many were cautious as they kept their distance from the gentleman.

Based on online reports, the banking sector of Ghana is currently going through a downward spiral as many banks have been closed down by the Bank of Ghana while some have been consolidated.

This has led to a mass panic as many scared customers have resorted to withdrawing their money-in-the-bank leading to the collapse of several banks.

Webmasters / Re: How To Qualify For Google Adsense ?? by Kikkyalibi: 7:18am On Oct 16, 2018
qanda:
You did not include your website address. Why are you interested in Google AdSense? In reality, it is not the best way to monitize your blog. To answer your question, all you need to get your site ready for Google AdSense is to have a site with good navigation, decent color scheme and between 5-10 original/quality articles.
That's all! It's that simple.

To learn the best ways to set up and monetize your blog, I advise you read the free blogging materials available on the business section of Q and A App.

Download Q and A App on Google Playstore

It's not that simple:

*let your site be as standardized as possible with at least 6months run-time.

*at least 100 views daily.

*register on web console so you can come up in Google Search engine, which means your website needs to be known for something unique.

*get SSL cert to secure your viewers' data.

*don't run another ad publishing network while applying for Adsense.

*no hankypanky with your domain and website in general.

*make sure your legal pages are well written,i.e About, Contact & Policy pages.

*make sure your site can be navigated through easily.

*get a standard theme.

*have at least 10 - 15 original posts with atkeasf 500 words in each.

*no adult or graphic content whatsoever.

*keep your blog interesting which will make users keep going to your blog.

*maintain it very well because Google will crawl your website occasionally.

Most important one, be patient and don't give up.

Business / Ten Reasons Your Small-scale Business Is Failing & Useful Tips by Kikkyalibi: 2:42am On Oct 11, 2018
This is Nigeria, where a single job is not enough to properly fend for an average Nigerian man/woman, talk more of a family.

In a positive wave, this has created the developments of different types of small scale businesses, ranging from; bead making, gaming centres, online sales businesses, phone repair stalls, petty trading, and much more, all cutting across the nation in masses.

One thing is sure, it’s either you succeed in the business or you fail in it.

Below are few of the reasons why some new start-ups are withering away when they have not even started.

#1. Impatience

Being a Chief-Executive-Officer ‘CEO’ and having a business of your own is exciting right? But take a chill pill and think it through.

Analyze yourself; your strength and weaknesses before you venture into owning your own business. This is not for the meek and cowardly. Understanding yourself better will go a long way in understanding how to properly run your business and surmount the problems you might encounter in the long and crowded race of having a successful small-scale business in Nigeria.

#2. Lack of information

After deciding on the type of business you are capable of running, the next step is gathering enough information.

Carry out researches online and proper market research. Visit similar businesses, talk to other CEOs and acquire the information you need. Information is power.

#3.Insufficient Capital

Do not rush into any business without having enough capital. If you do this, you will rush out of that business with a bruised self-confidence. Saving up is the best source of capital, but other sources are welcome too.

Taking a loan from a financial institution will add to your sleepless nights and keep you from focusing on how to properly run your business. You need a clear head to run a good business and incite a fast growth.

#4.Inability To Take Risks

Only those that can leave their comfort zones and take risks, are those that have break throughs.

If you are scared of breaking out of that ‘comfort-shell’ for fear of getting ‘hurt’ in the business world. Then you are not ready.

Build your self-confidence, believe in yourself and invest in that brilliant idea.

Not taking risks may lead to you missing ground-breaking oppurtunities.

#5. Unrealistic Dependability

Setting up a new business involves taking charge, this can not be overemphasized enough as being dependent on others to help carry out important tasks can leave you disappointed in the early days of your business.

Involve only those you trust and employ only those you can trust. Disappointments have dampening effects on being confident about putting yourself out there especially when it involves your livelihood.

#6. Bad Mindset

You are what you think. If you believe you will fail like thousands of other small-scale businesses in Nigeria, please don’t start that business.

Your positive mindset is capable of attracting the required energy to help you forge ahead when you come across hurdles and hassles in your business, which you definitely will. Keep being optimistic!

#7. Fear Of Losing Money

We live to learn and we learn to live. You are human hence, you are not perfect. Just as it is called a start-up business – it is a start. The beginning of something huge may not be smooth, losses may be incured but see it as a learning process and improve on it. They say Practice Makes Perfection!

#8. Fear Of Losing To Others

No finger is equal. Life itself is a survival of the fittest. No-one likes a competitor in the business world but there’s a bright side to this.

Take advantage of their presence and learn from them. This will add to your knowledge on how to improve your business over-all, and how to properly package your services to the satisfaction of your customers. Being a hater while running a business will only add unnecessary weights to your business which will inturn drag you down and keep your from focusing on the goal with the right mindset.

#9. Bad Human Relations

As they say, ‘customers are always right’. No business can survive without others. You need customers, and clients for your business to thrive from start-up and grow into a large one.

If you have zero social skills, hire experts who can help you integrate your business into social media networks and ‘make people love you’.

The more relatable you are, the more customers you attract.

You are dealing with humans like you, so this makes it easy. Once in a while, do a review on how you have been ‘socially’ and ask yourself what you would do if you were at the other end of the stick.

Would you patronise you?

#10. Lack Of Fear

This last reason is a bit tricky because I am sure you want to ask why fear is also a key factor in running a business.

The presence of fear, incites proactiveness, and it enables you as a business man or woman, to see the ‘dangers’ you could encounter ahead, which makes you set up a plan B to recover from it and re-carry out that same operation but now in a better, improved and more calculative method.

You also learn from your mistakes, hence, taking advantage of that fear to better plan ahead.

We wish you the best from AlibiBlog in your Small-Scale Businesses.

Phones / Six False Ideas About Your Smartphone You Have Believed All Your Life! by Kikkyalibi: 12:51pm On Sep 29, 2018
Smartphones have become a very important part of our lives.

This is largely due to the important tasks they carry out and voids they fill in our every-day life.

With every new day, new innovations and improvement in technology lead to new releases of ‘smarter’ smartphones. But As awesome as having a smartphone is, one of the frustrating thing about it is the battery which is not everlasting.

With the invention of mobile phones came different myths and misconceptions on how to and how not to use a mobile device and their batteries.

Here are six things you believed wrong about smartphone’s batteries:

#1. Never Use Your Phone While It Charges

Alot of smartphone users generally believe using a phone while it charges has a negative impact on the longetivity of the battery life. This is only possible if you are using a low-quality ‘fake’ charger. Whether you use your phone while it charges or not, your battery will charge as expected with a good charger. This is because; while charging your phone, applications still run in the background and your phone device runs synced applications. So even if you do not use your phone, your phone is using your phone. Only in cases of overheating should you dial the action back abit.

#2. Your Battery Will Spoil If You Charge Your Phone Overnight

They are called ‘smart’ phones for a reason as most smartphones have been built to recognize when a battery is at a fully charged capacity and so, will stop charging. But for those who believe the battery has to be fully charged for them to have an optimal experience with the phone; your phone battery is optimal from 40 – 80 percent.

#3. You Should Only Use Brand/Follow-Come Chargers with Your Phone

False. While it is advisable to use good chargers, it is not a must to use the brand’s own charger only to charge your smartphone. Most Smartphone manufacturers enjoin you to use the official charger that comes with your phone. This is mainly because they highly recommend it as it is their brand but they do not specify that you don’t use any other charger. Meanwhile, stay away from knock-off, run-off-the-mills chargers.

#4. Surfing The Internet Will Drain The Battery Faster Than Anything Else

This is so not true because the internet still runs after you drop your phone when you are done with Instagram and Snap chat. Turning off your data only increases battery life to about 30%. But the number one thing that sucks the life out of your smartphone device is gaming. The high-end graphics engines are usually massive energy drainers. Which means that if you game a lot on your devices, you need to learn to dim the screen as much as you can while playing.

#5. Completely Drain Your Battery Before Plugging It In Again

These days, smartphones come with lithium-ion batteries are much different from the old batteries which we can say were ‘not so smart’. Every battery has a full capacity they can reach but the older batteries would “forget” their full capacity, so they normally wouldn’t be able to fully charge again over time.

So back then, folks would completely drain the battery to 0% before charging it again.

Smartphones today have lithium-ion batteries, which don’t suffer have “memory problems” of older nickel cadmium and nickel-metal hydride batteries. So, you can top-up that battery anytime without discharging it completely.

#6. Keeping It In The Fridge Will Improve Battery Life.

Very Wrong. The appropriate temperature for a smartphone battery is at room’s temperature – 20° - 25° C. A too low or too high temperature range will damage the battery.

A Nigerian pastor has thrown his Nigerian-Canada based wife in a state of anguish after she discovered that he husband got married to a woman he’s been claiming was his sister and that they already have two grown sons.

Christabel Idahosa has been married to her husband – Pastor Glory Idahosa for years and their union is blessed with 5 beautiful kids – 4 girls and 1 boy.

For the better part of their marriage, Pastor Glory was reportedly without a job and his wife – Christabel waWas Thsole bread-winner, up until 3 years ago when he opened a church in Canada with the help of his wife.

He also returned to Nigeria in 2016 to open a branch of the church in Nigeria with money given to him by his wife and the church in Canada.

Before the official opening of Power House of Prayer Ministries in Canada and Nigeria, Pastor Glory returned to Nigeria with his wife and kids 5 years ago and he introduced his wife to a woman named Splendour Patrick.

He introduced Splendour as his younger sister and Christabel believed him.

In 2016, Pastor Glory told his wife he needed money to open a branch of their church in Nigeria.

He was handed 2.8 million Naira and he set out for Nigeria where he stayed for months with the excuse that he was busy working to help the church pick up.

He returned to his family in Canada months later.

In June 2018, Christabel returned home to find her husband packing his bag. He informed her that his mother died and he needed to return to Nigeria urgently.

He also claimed he needed to attend some family meetings and look into the progress of the church in Nigeria.

His wife remained in Canada with their children, not suspecting anything, until last night when she saw her husband’s Facebook page being updated with wedding photos.

It was her husband getting married to Splendour Patrick who he claimed was his younger sister. It also turns out that they already have two sons who look to be about 5 and 3 years old.

The pastor has been criticized mercilessly on Facebook after his first wife’s family exposed his infidelity and he proceeded to block his in-laws on Facebook.

Church members in Canada have racked up insults and critic comments after finding out their pastor is guilty of bigamy. They have also called him out on Facebook and are asking him to come and close the church in Canada.

They claim they had been trying to call him when he was gone for long but he never picked, only to discover on social media that he took another wife.

Following this development and declarations made by the first wife, Pastor Glory Idahosa who has been married to Christabel Idahosa for years with five children, has now come out to defend himself and debunk all allegations.

This is unbelievable. A viral video has hit the waves of the internet, revealing how Prophet Israel Oladele Ogundipe of CCC Genesis Global (Isheri Outreach) instructed a female church member to go pack up the massive heap of offerings paid to the church by members during a Sunday service.

The prophet made this declaration after he revealed that he was instructed by God to make the members of the church happy and the chosen woman was living in lack and sadness.

The rest of the church, in complete awe and excitement, clapped and celebrated as the woman packed the monies in a black bin bag filled with tears of joy.
