Education / Re: The Plight Of A Madonna University Law Graduate by Killingp: 6:19am On Aug 21, 2013
venorite: I am a law graduate from Madonna University. I finished from Madonna in 2011 and am yet to get admission in to the Nigerian law school. This has been the case with more than 1000 graduates that are yet to get admitted into the Nigerian law school. I and my colleagues have contacted the school without getting any response.

Madonna graduated more than 500 law students in 2011 and only 55 names (give or take) got admitted into law school via Madonna, others had to lobby their way into law school. The in thing now is that some students pay big money to get admitted into law school while some that have ogas at the top have their names included in the supplementary list which comes from bwari, Abuja. The ones that are unable to pay or have no one are left to their fate. This is what so many of us have been subjected to and currently, there are only 52 Madonna students names on the law school websites while other state and fed school get as much as 130-200 names (Abia state has 130 names)….

My question is (1) why can’t private universities and Madonna in particular get as much slots in law school as Fed and State Universities, (2) why do we have to pay our way into law school after spending 5years and exorbitant amounts to get a law degree (3) what is the solution to this? The annoying thing is that without your B.L degree, your LL.B Hons degree is pretty useless cos u can’t practice with it and getting a job is pretty difficult.

Pls relevant authorities should take notice and find a solution to this cos it seems this is only peculiar to private school and Madonna university in particular.

Mod Pls move to front page
nah play u dey! U get money pay madonna school fees from 100l to 500l; nw to sort ur way into the NLS becomes a problem. Who u dey lament 4, like say u no knw how 9ja dey do there things. If u had gone to a public university, u won't have even initiated ur plight at all. Mchteeew.

I greet the house. I got an admission in estonia. And as u all know, there is no estonia embassy or consular in the country. Therefore i have to apply 4 a residence permit in person @ any country that estonia exist. It means that i have to apply for a week atleast in any country that has the embassy. I have option of egypt, turkey and india. I have tried egypt but they denied with a dot in the last page of my passport signifying that i can't go in the embassy(all the ambassador did was to read the enrollment letter the school sent me and said "thank you, u may leave"wink. I left, immediately they brought all my documents down. This left me in real quandary. I askd the reason for denying my request, i didnt get any rejoinder. I have no choice than to defer the admission. I have 2 option left for next year: turkey and india. I really an oreintation on how to go abt turkey visa.

5. You are in a pharmacy trying to buy a pack of condoms and the attendant who happens to be a female gives you this sinister look...(i be like "mind your bizness bitch"

6. While driving, someone who has a better ride than u slowly passes u and gives u that "look"....(if you like no look where you they go before u jam street light ).

7. Someone calls you and ask "please who am i speaking with"...( dude...u called me...identify yourself first)

8. You go to buy bread....you be like...madam give me bread....she brings it...before she gets to you...you say "fresh one abeg"...then she goes back and enters an inner chamber to get another bread...(do i need to specify before u give me good bread)...
