Religion / Re: Did Jesus Ever Call Himself God In The Bible? The Answer Is No! by kimco(m): 11:11am On Feb 19, 2022
No body answered the question. I only saw ad hominem attacks. The answers that came out too did not address the question. Some started quoting others calling Jesus lord but never Jesus calling himself "God". Op I guess you have your answer.

You must be very confused my dear....I don't even remember having a "chat" with you. Probably a template response because you keep sounding very selfish and others keep pointing it out to you.
Ironic though, I thought you were going to pray for me since you were a pastor.... Selfish, think of others.

What’s really wrong with Afcon this year ? Is it the pitch ? Is it the ball ? Is it the lack of creative players?

Almost all the team best players are either defensive midfielders or defenders.

Its simple....they are not motivated. Europe got into the minds of these players. The Afcon brand means little to these players. Also AFRICA PLEASE IMPROVE YOUR LEAGUES SO YOU CAN PRODUCE GREAT PLAYERS THAT ARE LEADERS AND ARE ATTACK MINDED AS WELL. MOST OF OUR FOREIGN BASED PLAYERS ARE DEFENSIVE...ITS HURTING OUR TOURNEYS.

Next thing he saw was a great fire and ashes . America gone . There is no time again . The World is about end . Mark my words. He also warned , about the 3 curtains. Iron curtain is Russia, red curtain China and purple curtain America. Even before the rise of these Russia nd china. This is a time of repentance, summit your live to Christ.

Is Bill gates atheist or agnostic? Well he was married and he got divorced same with Elon. Christianity teaches love at all times, respect, self control, forgiveness and tolerance. An atheist that exhibits these traits must have been raised a Christian don't you think?

My brother! If you think Atheists are incapable of love because love is a religious thing, then I would plead with you greatly to go on an expedition to find out the truth. Most atheist actually want equality without the barrier of religion and tribalism. Most Atheists are humanists. You don't need to be an atheist to be a humanist but in religion that becomes a bit difficult and hypocritic.

An example would be hating homosexuals. That would be in accordance to the bible and any christian who says otherwise is a hypocrite. If you want to show love to the lgbtq+ then you must discard your christian belief otherwise you must live with the idea that you are a hypocrite and not a true christian.

Ask and average christian what should be the solution to this problems in the country, they will simply tell you to pray.

This above is the reason why religious people are not fit to rule. Imagine asking your president to fix your issues and he says 'ishallah'. If you think Nigeria is bad now, you wouldnt want a Nigeria with a very religious leader.

The cultists you cited even though they are into spiritism, they know when action is needed, they need to move. They don't hope and pray. So realistically, they are better at ruling (however bad they are) than religious robots.

thank God you red, The Bible does not list the kind of dresses, fashions and designs a believer should adopt. However it presents guiding principles for Christian dressing, 1Tim 2:9-10, 1pet:3:3 which include the following:
(i) The dress must cover the body to avoid being a stumbling block to others.
(ii) The believer must avoid worldly fashions and designs
aimed at corrupting the society
(iii) A woman must not put on man's dress; neither should a man
put on a woman's dress.
(iv) Christian virtues of meekness, gentleness, humility, temperance, goodness and modesty must be seen in the believer's comportment.
(v) The believer must be an example to other believers in his or
her clothing.
(vi) He or she must not dress for show-off.
(vii)The glory of God must be the sole aim in bodily clothing.

So are you not seeing that this thing is very subjective? What is decent to some will be indecent to others? When the missionaries came, they wore western clothes and called ours evil. But remember they wore robes, something both men and women were wearing. Was that not against the bible? Yet here we are. How can Yahweh be so confused, he doesnt state clearly what we should wear and what he says is open to interpretations by diff tribes. This should tell you that it was written by men who didnt know better, it amazingly obvious.

1. Explain to me what is meant by not wearing the opposite genders clothes. Give me an example

2. Give me an example of dressing to show off. And who determines if one is showing off.

3. The christian virtues you have listed was not exhibited by christ himself yet you want his followers to do so? He was not meek and he was not Gentle. He had temper tantrums because he had to be if he was to fight the enemy.

4. And ofcourse lastly, what is worldly fashion designs?

1 Tim 2:9-10, Isaiah 3:16-21, 1pet 3:3-6

I have read it all.

1Tim 2:9-10 does not specify the the type of adornment.

Isaiah 3-16-21 is extremely out of context. I read the whole chapter three...it does not critisizes their dressing but rather the ways of the people in general (more or less like the corrupt akin to "cows of beshan, those who say bring so that we may eat"wink the ornaments etc was a reflection of their corrupt ways adorning themselves with luxury while others suffer and they dwell in their "sins"

1pet 3:3-6 is also saying dont dwell on physical appearance to show the world that you are beautiful rather think of inner beauty. Its not critisizing outter beauty, it is encouraging inner beauty.

And then again the specific dress code is still not stated. I need specifics.

what is sufficient and persuasive evidence?

Anyone whether theists or atheists are flawed in their reasoning if they’re not ready to approach matters with an open mind.

Look you’ve raised valid points which will defy rules of logic for one to hold onto their beliefs.

And I acknowledge that.

The same energy used in criticising the viewpoint and belief of others should be channeled to self introspection too.

For example (not directing this at you though), it reeks of double standards to raise valid points on Kangaroos in the Middle East whilst swallowing the humans evolved from whatever theory that flies around in the absence of sufficient and persuasive evidence.

Abeg everyone one to their own beliefs…as long as you’re not bombing one another.

BTW… I don’t subscribe to religion either. The truth doesn’t need religion to prove itself.

There is more evidence for evolution than gravity my brother. Don't even go there.

I dont get this failed argument.

If you were a detective and u chanced upon a crime scene. Will you just give and say

"well I was not there when the crime happened so I could not possibly solve this crime"

Completely ignoring the mountains of evidence that is littered on the scene?

Should we disregard the genetic evidence amongst other things because you fail to understand how evidence work? That parrallel you are trying to draw....you are out of your depths my guy...and I am not even any where near knowledgeable to school you deep enough...but I can still say you have no idea what you are saying.

No you seem to not take into consideration that the bible is the word of "God" and cannot contain holes. You cannot equate it to any other story because when it fits your agenda you elevate it above other literature calling it divine. When it is called out for it flaws suddenly it becomes like any other story. Stop moving this goal post.

You have drifted now.
I can see you don’t have common sense.

First of all you asked how Noah would have gone to many places to preach then.
I showed you he did it in 100-120 years and also asked you to discuss what locations anyone could not cover in 120 years. But you changed the topic.

Secondly you asked how structures survived if the flood happened. I simply told you the 2 questions you ask to discredit the flood are very weak. I haven’t even told you the flood happened or did not happen. However I simply followed your 2 questions to say they are weak.

If you try to rubbish the flood account by asking how Noah could have gone round to tell everyone, then you fail. Because he did it in 100-120 years which is enough to talk to everyone.

If you bring arguments on surviving structures, that’s also weak because any good structure should have strong debris after a 40 day flood.
We can confirm that using houses that have been permanently flooded in Lagos and other locations, and even some underwater structures.

The animals and humans were the most affected and not structures. So again, you bring up a weak argument.

Hahahahahaha even with the tech that abounds, we have not been able to talk to every person or tribes on mother earth. Even if you consider pangea, how did he manage to locate these people without getting himself killed. And also how did he balance building that boat and moving around to tell people? Everyone? Naaa bro.

If I was God and wanted to kill my enemies, I will just comand them dead instead of making an old man and his unskilled normal bodied (not hulk like creatures that can lift logs and timber to build that huge boat) children to toll and build a boat deviod of any leakages and errors while also going around the world to preach to native tribesmen in the bushes( its silly to think all men were enlightened then some men devolved into bushmen state like we see today, so it is smarter to assume they existed those times too)

Im not God but I think my plan works better....like thanos. Imagine how the world ecosystem would be affcted by moving animals away from their habitats...how did the polar bear even survive in the extreme heat...and the fishes too?

Too many holes.

Because God wants it so .God created structure of leadership in the body of Christ.

You have to be submitted to someone .It's either you're leading or being led

Hebrews 13:17
17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you
.

1Co 12:28 — 1Co 12:29
28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles

True disciples of Christ were men of God too. But there's leadership structure in God's kingdom. God govern his people through leadership. its only rebels who dont recognise this and claim equality in rank. " WE are all annointed. we are all holy"

Num 16:3 — Num 16:4 (ASV)
3 and they assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and Jehovah is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the assembly of Jehovah?
4 And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face:

Hebrews 5:4 (KJV)
4 And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.

Matthew 22:14 (KJV)
14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

Your reply tells me that indeed, it is not mandatory. It is recommended. But not mandatory. If your man of God doesnt do his work, do you still submit? This is why i thnk some verses are a bit vague

Eg: " honour thy father and mother"

Even if they tell you to do what is wrong? It is a paradox. If u honour what is not right you sin, if you dont you sin. I digress.

"For many are called but few are chosen"
And what determined that your pastor was chosen but you were not? Because he says so?

I agree order is important, but when the order is disorderly, you better look to yourself and your God, not stay in it, hoping for the best

Well, thanks for your support bro... But honestly, I'll be doing more and growing more if I have a CHRISTLIKE elder (not Perfect, though) over me in a local church. I no longer believe just the One man Pastor System of common churches, but having elders of local churches as well; I may fellowship in a branch of theirs if the branch pastor is a good example of Jesus (not perfect), though.

As it says:

Heb.13.17 - Obey your spiritual leaders and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they know they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this joyfully and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be for your benefit.

But I can't submit to just any pastor or leader anymore. Except I know he has not been blinded by Money and Popularity as common.

petra1:

Well, thanks bro. But you can be sure I've been to most kinds of common churches around...

According to my narration here, a time came when I started looking beyond just one's Correct doctrines/Bible knowledge, holy or good external appearance, eloquence, miracles and signs, Big or Mega-churches and other GIFTS. These are what Jesus refer to as the sheep's clothing; hence, STRONG False prophets can use these things too.

Therefore, before I call a person a man of God, I compare them first with Jesus and Men like Paul (not perfect people, but christlike). Because Jesus said one cannot serve God and Mammon. And I check myself as a believer in these areas too.

But someone will say there are no men like that; no there are but very few and unknown. The few fairly well known I know are Zac Poonen (India), bro Gbile Akanni, late Jan boshoof (died last year), etc.

Men like Zac Poonen who could say to his congregation that if any of them finds any of his linked churches with a leader who's not christlike and unserious should be avoided at all cost, and had better find another local church that is not linked to him at all, but has a CHRISTLIKE leader. I doubt if there are many Popular Pastors in Nigeria that can say such genuinely. No, once you join there group/denomination, you must find and join their Branch anywhere you go (BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ONLY TRUE CHURCH, you know): whether the branch is dead or alive: as long as your TITHES AND OFFERINGS are intact, I guess.

Men like Paul, Peter, etc., were not mainly after Money, tithes, offerings, building megachurches and Popularity; but Jesus and his Kingdom primarily: living like Jesus lived.

1John.2.6 - Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Christ did.

Lastly... Let's not forget:

Matt.7.22 - On judgment day many will tell me, 'Lord, Lord, we prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.'
Matt.7.23 - But I will reply, 'I never knew you. Go away; the things you did were unauthorized. '

Grace...
