UncleJudax:What law? Where should laws be applied? Is it not in the courts? Please all these jobless politicians should stop joking with human dignity. I am tired of hearing Amaechi is corrupt and this and that. You said you have a case with hard evidence, what has that got to do with the President's table? Everything about these people are just unwise. |

Nairalanders please help me by sharing your experiences on this or the meanings of this mysterious sign. Today, I woke up at about 6:00am, after doing my chores, I settled sown to watch a t.v program in my sitting room. All of a sudden I noticed that one side of the wall was covered with matured houseflies all perching but not moving. I was so shocked at this instance, that I rushed of the sitting room, and again they filled the outside wall. It was an irritating sight!!! I am not the superstitious type but it is very mysterious as I could not perceive any stench; moreover the environment was neat. This had also occured a month ago, but I was not home as I was school and was told of what had happend. What made me astonished the more was that after exhausting a whole can of insecticide on it, they died and some left, they came back to that same spot. I think this has a fetish undertone. This is a threat to the inhibitants of my house and myself, pls I need a serious advice. Thank You!!! |

I would say that the op is not correct according to law. The constitution in its provisions does not direct any function or inborn role on the Vice President. The Vice President is just a de facto member of the Federal Executive Council with the President as its head. Any role the VP plays must be assigned by the President on his discretion. The VP of Nigeria could be said to be a "constitutional puppet" or an "elected minister". I refer to Sec. 148 of the CFRN as an authority. If the Vice President performs any function not assigned or directed by the President is unconstitutional therefore void and in the harshest of the situation, impeachable. Now applying to the legal point above to what the op is trying to analyse, his opinion is his opinion and is not the law and is not above the law. I am learned in the law and I stand to be corrected with strong contradiction or else learn!!! |

"But at a distance of 1,400 light-years away, humankind has little hope of reaching this Earth-twin any time soon. "You and I probably won't be travelling to any of these planets without some unexpected breakthrough, but you know, our children's' children's children may," Says Aljazeera news. So we in this generation should not dream of transiting over there, as our fastest space crafts presently may take 25 million years to get there. I wish something extraordinary could happen now like an innovation. smh!!! 1 Like |

Ezenwammadu:If you were Attorney General, what would you have done? |

The Port Harcourt branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, has suspended the Rivers State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Mr. Worgu Boms over the lingering judicial crisis in the state. The decision to suspend Boms and declare him a persona-non-grata was taken during its meeting in Port Harcourt. The meeting was presided over by the branch’s chairman, Mr. Dennis Okwamkpan. According to the NBA, the actions and declarations of the state attorney general had been detrimental to the welfare and survival of lawyers in the state. Ninety-two members of NBA had voted in favour of sanctioning the Justice commissioner while 18 voted against the decision. Twenty persons were, however, absent at the meeting. DAILY POST recalls that courts in the state have remained under lock and key since June 9, 2014, making it impossible for litigants to take their grievances to court. Okwamkpan said parts of the resolutions at the meeting were, “That the Rivers State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Worgu Boms, is hereby declared a persona-non-grata. “That Rivers State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Worgu Boms, is hereby suspended from all the activities of the NBA, Port Harcourt branch, for the time being. “He was suspended for his gross insensitivity to the plight of lawyers in the state following the closure of courts since June 9, 2014. He was also suspended from the NBA for his actions and declarations, which are detrimental and impacted negatively on the welfare of lawyers in Rivers State. “He was suspended for his questionable role in the closure and continued closure of the courts in the state. We see that his role in the continued closure of the court is questionable. “We feel that as an attorney general, he has not lived up to the expectations of that office and he did not do what was expected of him as a stakeholder in the justice sector, that is why the courts have remained shut”.

luckaz:No, the House of Assembly amended the High Court Law to the effect that the Chief registrar could assign cases to high court judges where the office of the Chief Judge is vacant. Not all administrative matters. Also, the Chief Registrar is a just a judicial worker, it is only funny if u say that the law says he could be made acting Chief Judge. Which law is dat pls? |
![]() |
CharlesPhc:u sound like a lawyer, but am sure u are trying to amend the constitution by urself. Pls all wat u stated above is very inconsistent to s. 271(4) of the CFRN, 1999 as amended. it simply states dat the governor shall "appoint" the most senior high court judge as acting chief judge if d office is vacant. Do not post things ur not sure of. It is very misleading. |

chukwudi44:Pls do not assert ignorantly. What is the diff between the RVSG and River State people? The RSVG represents the Rivers State people as a matter of electing them to office and giving them the mandate. That stadium belongs to the Rivers state govt(people inclusive) no doubt but the govt run the stadium not the people. Moreover Nigeria being a federation grants autonomy and control of state owned properties to the state govt. Therefore if the disapproval and reason for disapproval by the state govt is unfair and unsatisfactory to the PDP/Nigerian Army Campaign team, they should institute a legal action rather than indulging into violence by the reoccurrent and arbitrary abuse of power of power by the fed govt. As a matter of law, any rebellion through violence against the govt and its action or decision is unconstitutional. |

talktimi:Gej is so weak so dat Amaechi withstood and still withstands all mechanisms plotted against him (Amaechi). Dont seem forget the 5 over 26 and 16 over 19 scourge so easily.... including the "controversial" Joseph Mbu. He is still the Governor of Rivers state till date. |

coolscott: Big old fooooooooool. Wat makes u think d project is over and wont be continued? |
![]() |
Ikengawo:If you were rational enough and genuine in ur thinking, you would known dat as at the time Amaechi was serving his first term performing projects that were admirable and a model for development as u rightly sed, he hadnt any issues with d federal govt (GEJ &PEJ) not until the ill-mannered Patience struck. I blame Gej for foolishly using the federal might as a political instrument to battle the Governor at the detriment to the Rivers People which unfortunately people like u cant see. I enjoin the Governor to blame the federal govt for some of the woes in Rivers state. |

Ikengawo:And your clueless mind doesn't tell you that with all does balderdash spilled from you being summed up, costs higher than the monorail? Why are Nigerians prone to hating something unique? You went on mentioning projects that are less visionary, short-sighted and tedious. It is no way mismanagement as far as it still serves same purpose which is easy transportation, but in an innovative form. Speaking of its distance, I would inform you that it didnt just end there, great development begins slowly, you just need vision to know and belief so. Thanks. |

Personally, using high end phones is something pleasurable and in dat sense, seems to be a priority. I might not have a dime on me but I cant imagine using a low cost phone dat lacks all the abilities of flagships. You have to struggle hard for the money. Like I said earlier, it depends on the individual's priority!!! |
