Please where is the hydro plant located, cos I can't find any dam on the campus.

Opa Dam, the source of water supply to the campus was built in 1981.

It is located off Road 1 about a kilometre from the Gate.

That's not true, you can still do secondary market, try and get an account officer that you can be communicating with via email, my account officer can't try this with me, she knows the blasting she will receive

Thanks. I thought as much more so when it was the account officer that mailed the new updated form to me in November.

Unfortunately she is on leave, so I went to customer service.

I will surely lay a complaint against the CS buffoon on Monday to their head office.

I was at Stanbic-ibtc Garki Abuja today but was told they no longer do secondary market because of cbn directives.

Can someone please confirm if this is applicable in their other branches?

I did the last one there in September.

Coolgent:
He noted that the traditional way of using the military might in tackling violent extremism by the insurgents had not recorded much success and advised that the Federal Government should involve the families and religious leaders in tackling the menace of violent extremism in the country. - Deputy Dorector NDC

So if Nigeria is under attack from another country; we should involve enemies familiar to resolve the war too?
We are finish!

Your own inference doesn’t derive from his argument.

Firstly, the traditional use military is to crush the enemy if necessary totally because everyone on the opposing side is seen as enemy.

USA carpet bombed Afghanistan and Iraq in the wake of terror attack in US and even overthrew their governments. Why didn’t it use the same military strategy on its own soil against the terrorists? Simple answer is that it has to be selective in identifying and punishing the terrorists on its own soil something that is not required of it against an enemy nation that it declared war against which the military is best suited for.

Same thing is happening in UK and France.

Secondly, if you read his whole article, he did not rule out military response entirely, he only said it should be complimented with other strategies.
Military is able to take on the Boko Haram in sambisa forest (even though with some restrictions because of innocent hostages), do you advocate such bombing of Maiduguri metropolis for instance even though it is well known that the terrorists have infiltrated the civilian in the city?

If 300 million units of Samsung phones are important into Nigeria, what stops Samsung from setting up a plant in Nigeria for Nigeria and Africa? You see that its either our govt does not have records or does nothing with the record.

300 million units of Samsung phones? Nigerians just like overestimating their worth.

Anyway, the issue was addressed by Samsung last year. Read below

Samsung Electronics has said that one of the reasons for not establishing a manufacturing plant in Nigeria is because its market share in the country is not big enough.

Mr Sung Yoon, the Chief Executive Officer of Samsung Electronics Africa, made this known during an interactive session with newsmen on Thursday in Lagos.

The Samsung CEO said that manufacturing a mobile phone required about 400 different components, none of which is available in Nigeria.

Yoon said that though Samsung was the leading consumer electronics company in Nigeria, its share of the Nigerian market is smaller to South Africa’s.

He said that the company’s smartphones market size in South Africa is 80 per cent, but is lower in Nigeria.

According to him, other issues that affect the building of manufacturing plant in the country are infrastructure, Return On Investment (ROI) and grey market.

“We are trying to be a local company here. Building factory depends on return on investment and efficiency of the economy.

“There are lots of grey products coming into the country and this will affect the return on investment,” he said.

Politics / Re: Photos From Mamman Daura's 80th Birthday Party In London. FFK Reacts (Video) by klas(m): 10:51am On Nov 11, 2019
The truth is that Daura had been living well in London before Buhari became the president.

It was his house in London that Buhari stayed when he was newly elected (rejecting the accommodation offered by our high commission) and from there they both went to 10 Downing Street to see the British prime minister.

Recall that infamous photograph in which Buhari as president-elect was left standing in front of prime minister's residence. That was the occasion.

How this sort of news makes the front page on the same day it was announced that isis' new leader is a man named abdallah qardesh leaves me very curious. Is it that Nairaland mods do not watch news?

https://nypost.com/2019/10/28/former-saddam-hussein-officer-selected-as-new-leader-of-isis/

The posters here misinterpreted Trump’s tweet.

The likely leader to succeed Al-Bagdadh was killed on the same day that Al-Baghdad was killed but in a different operation carried out jointly with Kurdish forces.

The ISIS therefore settled for Qardesh as the new leader.

People are commenting here as if it was Qardesh that was killed.

klas post=83150196]

Bode George was convicted in 2009. Tinubu ceased to be a governor in May 2007, the same time, Osinbajo ceased to be the Attorney General.

How could Tinubu and Osinbajo have drafted the law that jailed him?

By the way, NPA is a federal parastatal. What is the concern of lagos state govt in that even if George wrecked the place?

No, I don't think so. Daura and his family had been there for Buhari long enough before he married Aisha so the conflict is not unexpected.
Also, Aisha seems to me like an insatiable woman who wants to keep everything under her control with little or no regard to Mamman Daura who was there for Buhari through thick and thin moments when he lost his first wife.
Truth be told, Buhari is in a tight corner making a decision on this.
Mamman Daura's daughter is wrong to have released the video if she did but not wrong to have shot it for her own side of the story.

What do you mean by the bolded?

Buhari divorced his first wife - Safinatu immediately he was released from detention in 1988 and he married Aisha soon thereafter in December 1989.

Safinatu died in 2006 as an ex-wife of Buhari when Buhari had already become full politician and presidential contender. So, what thick and thin did he experience on her death?

emkz:
From the way Boniface Igbeneghu acted in the video, it seemed he was an amateur in the game. Not to excuse what he did, but real veterans would act more and talk less, just like the Ghana professor did. A veteran would not even tell his victim about cold room, he'd simply take her there.
A veteran would not also ask his victim about her sex life because he knows it would freak her out.
From the way his ex students spoke about him, it seemed he had his good sides. But the one day he decided to do what many other lecturers are doing and enjoy what his colleagues are enjoying ing, he was caught... on tape.

I don't think he would be fired by Unilag authorities, he may receive a severe reprimand, but the dent to his reputation would remain. He'd resign and go elsewhere.

BBC reporter said he was targeted for video-taping because his name kept cropping up in the testimonies of the students in the faculty.
Amateur first timer would not have been that notorious with that kind of reputation amongst students.

Politics / Re: Fuoye Saga: The Unsaid Part Of The Story by klas(m): 5:12pm On Sep 13, 2019
Reptyle:
I wish there could be a course called "How to Plan and Organise a Peaceful Protest" taught in schools, especially higher institutions. Perhaps it can form part of the GNS or GST courses every student is exposed to in the early part of their university days. Our Nigerian anti-riot also need to be exposed to a similar course but this time should focus on how to prevent a protest from becoming a riot!

What a lot of us cloak as "peaceful protest" in Nigeria is far from it. In a peaceful protest, you don't hurl missiles at law enforcement. You don't go to the nearest public garage to hire touts and ruffians in the name of mobilisation. "Aluta" isn't a license for lawless and mindless behaviour.

How can a protest by students of a university degenerate to the point of hurling rocks and other projectiles at the convoy of a government official? I watched this video and several others and I am surprised this incident only led to 2 deaths. This could easily have become another Police vs Shiites war leading to a slew of casualties

From all indications, the police did not willfully open fire on students. They did so because they were provoked. If you corner a policeman and attack him with rocks, he will respond the only way he knows how...with much more violence. Our policemen are experts at heavy-handed conflict resolution. They adopt extreme measures in every conflict, shooting to kill most times. The unfortunate thing here is that the police weapons are equipped with real bullets and not plastic bullets as is usual in developed climes. This is a major failure on the part of the government. It is time we realise that protests are an inalienable part of democracy so we will see more of this as time goes on. It is, therefore, time to re-train and equip our law enforcement agents accordingly.

Over a million people marched and protested during the recently resolved Hong Kong protests. No one lost their lives in the crises apart from the 5 protesters that reportedly committed ritual suicide to press home their demands. This is because the police deployed standard riot gear: Teargas, Rubber bullets and batons.

Students and citizens must do better. The Police also needs a total reorientation and proper equipment to avoid this unnecessary loss of lives going forward.

God bless the dead and console their families.

The bolded is very true.
You could hear those people in the bus saying in yoruba that they wished it were army that came instead of police. That the soldiers would have treated their Bleep up.

He said: “We are warning PDP to be careful not to toy with Rivers State. Rivers State has all it takes to withstand the PDP and fight the party to a standstill.

“The Rivers State Governor is not one of those Governors that anyone can cajole.

“The Rivers State Governor is not one of those Governors that will kowtow to their illicit activities”.

When the tail wag the dog.
So this is what the great PDP has been reduced to?
Rivers state has the chairmanship of the party. What is wrong in another state having the Reps minority leader position?

There is even a Mandela Family Restaurant situated not far from it.

However, he did not stay there after returning from prison because it is actually a small bungalow and it has now been converted to tourist centre.
